so here we are at my bobcat s175 that i bought fixed up replaced the engine i'll replace the radiator changed all the fluids changed a lot of parts on this machine here 32 hours 32 hours on this machine and something catastrophic happened i uh i bought it with a blown engine and i replaced the engine and i fixed it all up and i put a new radiator in it i put new fluids in it i put a lot of money into this thing here and the reason i'm showing you this is because if you're thinking about buying a bobcat make sure you check them the hours on it so what difference does it make if you have a bobcat that has a thousand hours on it or if it has seven thousand hours on it if you're going to replace the engine what does it matter well here [Music] is why it matters the thing i didn't take into consideration is this this bobcat i bought it with the blown engine like i said it had like 6 000 hours on it but i thought i'm replacing the engine so uh everything should be all right but this little issue right here and i don't know if you can tell but i'm gonna show you this axle is moving it is broke it is broke not just here on on the frame um hang on one second down here and let me show you something else all right get inside here and you can see here's the the axle goes all the way in and right there it's supposed to be connected to that bracket that weld is busted off of that it's busted off of here and it goes all the way in and the only way to show you that would be to well let's see if i can do it with this cab up lift the cab there we go and it goes all the way i don't know if you can see that down there that section right there i don't know if you can tell but it is also busted off of this chain case which is everything under which is that case with all the all the bolts on it that hold it down the cap that is all one piece that is the entire bottom of the bobcat all that black section the axles all that black black section there there's the front axle underneath that is all one piece including [Applause] including the chain case itself the box where all your gears all your axles your chains everything runs in there and from my understanding and i called three different bobcat dealers the first one said buy a different machine it ain't worth it the second one said we don't even deal with that that's that's not even it's not worth it for us we're not even gonna give you a quote for it and the third one said um and i explained the same the situation to every one of them told them that i bought a new engine and i replaced the engine and uh here's the nice kubota engine in there brand new well it's all remanufactured and they told me that if i traded it in on a new machine they'd give me fifteen hundred dollars for this one with the engine shoot man i got four grand in the engine uh so yeah sure i'm sure they would but they also said a new chain case eight thousand dollars and in order to to take this apart and fix this every single hose every single linkage every chain every gear every every nut and bolt has to come out and this whole uh frame has to be lifted up and then then this this here could be properly uh welded in place and it has to be nice and straight there's they said there's a little room for error on the tolerance but you got your axle that goes in here that runs off of your gears and the chain so everything has to be aligned pretty darn close so basically it's a catastrophic failure and it's not even worth fixing so i put all this money all this time into this and because of i'm guessing you know i had 6000 plus hours on it the fatigue of the metal just over time doesn't hold up the engine's fine the hydraulics are fine but you just don't know what somebody's done with the machine before you bought it so my advice is if you're going to buy a machine make sure it's got low hours because these things are pretty doggone sturdy and able to withstand a lot of torture and a lot of stress but once you get so many hours on them it's just probably not worth it um don't don't spend four thousand dollars on a new engine and take the time to put it in if it's got seven or eight thousand hours on the thing because something else is gonna break on it just uh go and get you a new machine or a new used one which is what i did so yeah i man i i just want to stress to people make sure if you're going to look at a machine look at look at these axles make sure you don't see any cracks or any breaks make sure you do a proper inspection on it don't suffer like i did i got a lot of time and money into this machine and it's it's it's just a giant paper weight now the only good thing is is i can i can sell the engine i can i mean there's a lot of parts on here i could sell the cylinders i mean these lift cylinders and the tilt cylinders are really good um shoot somebody would probably want to buy the door or the lights um anything like that i don't know hopefully i can salvage some of my money out of it i mean it's a heated cab so it's got a heater in it and it's got some glass in it and you know that stuff's all expensive if you're buying it especially like a a cylinder right here a lift cylinder alone at bobcats 1200 bucks brand new i'll let you have it for 500 bucks so yeah devastation man a lot of blood sweat and tears went into this and that's all for nothing now just a giant piece of junk i think scraps going for about uh a penny and a half a pound that's a 5 000 pound machine you do the math boy that's that's that sounds like a lot of pennies but it don't add up to any dollars and uh yeah but but we got a plan and we're gonna get back in business so i'll let you know that on the next video all right don't make this mistake it'll come back and bite you goodbye
