hello everybody my name is Baron this is kingdoms and castles it is a fig funded game if you can believe it yes a big crowd funded game successful they raise the money over there made by Lion shield who I believe are just these four people right here in fact I don't think they put out a game before this one so that's the extent of their history I'm excited for it though it's a new city builder my friends have been talking quite a bit about it and it's looking like a good time it's got kind of a fun little blocky Lego people look to it you'll see as we boot into this it's got it's got a fun little aesthetic to it and it's pretty relaxed but there's a good deal of things that can happen to throw a throw a wrench in the cogs so without further ado let's go ahead and start it up kingdoms and castles we're not going to go Paxil on here no threats we're gonna go some earn a good reason for a new ruler won't go Vince are although I am sort of tented honestly I am still very new to this by the way it's not like I've got four or five hours into this this is going to be pretty blind for me I've I've built like the basis of a of a foundation for an estate however not really sure what the intricacies in the nuance is for this one I'm just going to go ahead and take this land to I'm not really sure what I'm looking for as far as places to settle and let's not worry about the banner too much in fact I don't know if you can really customize this pretty sure you can just choose one available let's just take that give a little bit of a nod to our old to our old papers please days I can remember to spell this properly bear stuffed gap glory to bear stuff sky there we go so to start off with kind of just getting the lay of the land here this is our this is our home for the foreseeable future this beautiful little island actually got quite a few interesting features right out of the gate you got this massive woodlings over here we're probably gonna have to try to harvest that got a little bit of stone here you're going to be noticing two different kinds of resources as we progress through the game you've got iron deposits right here that are available to mine you got this light stone that you can use a quarry on you get the trees of course you got fertile land and you can see the differences in the color of the ground to indicate to you what is looking good there so we can actually choose to start pretty much anywhere we want so go around and make sure we're looking at the best available locations I'm pretty tempted to just start over here and take advantage of this massive woodlands but that might not be the greatest idea in the world we could also try to start across the way from that and then maybe take advantage of that later this right here is actually looking like a decent spot it's got some fairly fertile water and not fertile water rather fertile land near the water it's got some good resources pretty close by it's got a little bit of a the mining stuff available here see Alice's this is looking solid and then we can expand a great deal out on the right side and then maybe build a bridge across here and get to this woodlands at some point too so let's do that let's start out right here let's build our keep my home in koi and that'll be that looks pretty good let's do that sounds good so there is our foundation as I mentioned that is going to be the the central hub of our entire estate here is the key and we are going to build out from that so doing so will start with roads and we got to figure out where we want to go to begin with so first of all homes and farms going to be necessary so good place to build those who's probably along the fertile lands and there's not a ton of those to the south unfortunately I think I might have to start out by going over here to the right side maybe cutting down a few of these trees and taking advantage of this fertile land that we've got right here so let's go ahead and build right out across on the right side from the keep we won't spend too much right now on roads because it is one log per road and we are very very low on resources to start out or start off with I think I'll build a home for the beginning as well 100% sheriff like building a house this close to the keep is a good idea kind of feels like it's maybe a risk let's give it a little bit of space let's build all the way out here instead go something like that and now all five of these guys can actually fit inside this home they you know they take good advantage of their space they realize that the the impact of sharing abodes that this H&R in our development of human species you know they're not going to be too upset about bunk beds at this point all right now I think it's going to be go ahead and time to chop some wood here start gathering some resources the old-fashioned way put down a farm which I believe doesn't take too many resources yeah it's just going to be three logs so we'll be able to get that fairly quickly and they're also happy right but they do need wood I presume to be a loaf of bread we'll get that with some farmland soon enough here but I'll uh I'll see what else we need as well this is our advisors page by the way good day saya we need farms first to feed our workers beginning and growing our kingdom with some roads than houses and teachers just say hey oh you don't you'll worry about her later she's got you've got bigger fish to fry she's not worried about small-time right now there's a again a slow but steady gathering of the resources what we'll want to do really early on is get something built called the Forester which is just going to plant and replant trees that it cuts down within a given area and like I was saying I kind of wanted to do that up here but it is already pretty thick I think starting down here might actually bode well for me because then I can replant trees in areas that don't already have them so probably do that going to go ahead and even speed up this early goings here I'm just going to finish chopping that down and let's go ahead and put down the farmlands at this point maybe even I have a look at this first before I decide for sure what I'm going to do here I think I want to I almost wish I built the roads right here so I could use this very fertile land I think I might just want to build like two right here maybe even just the one I think I'll just build the one farmland here because the the first time I actually tried it out I built like three farms and I feel like I just had way too much food because of that I'm going to start with the one and see how much that it ends up actually producing and if it is not even close to enough will of course address that when the time comes you just saw it there three people visited but none can find a home so we do have to take care of that priority really fast as well I think I'll build one right there and then build another road right out to it as I mentioned I want to try to keep my distance from the from the keep if I can I don't know it just feels intuitive to me to try to keep the homes away from the keep you know like keep the citizens away from what I presume to be the focal point of whatever attack is going to be coming our way maybe even put like a barrier between them I don't know we might have to reorganize the entire structure of our state laid around depending on our needs but for now we'll just leave this be and yeah as I mentioned again I'm going to try to make the priority early on here getting this forester up so I think a good place to do that would probably be right around here maybe even a little further out to the right so we're not worrying about interrupting any of this we'll be able to get to this pretty quickly too which is really nice and we got another source of iron right here which is great I haven't actually seen what the iron does yet but I'm curious and having the supply of course will be helpful for itself doesn't look like we actually have anything going on right now I need to chop down wood whenever possible and I think I need to just go ahead and do that in order to actually get the forester going we should find oh yeah there we go we got two new residents just now here in year three so that's great we got looks like one person idling who ought to be chopping down wood I think I'm not really sure what they're doing and ten beds is well available now so we should be good to go there all right Forester is closed it's going to be 50 L we need to stone first to actually shoot it forget about that okay so to do that then we're going to have to build a quarry which is going to go adjacent to light colored stone and sadly the only one that it looks like is going to be the easiest to get to for that is this one but I don't know if I can actually get there because it's so it's surrounded by the others oh oh well that might be a problem okay I should have consider that early on I guess what we could do is build a road all the way out to here we don't have to build the road all the way in fact we could just wait until we get the wood and then we could have them walk over there and build the quarry next to it which wouldn't be all that terrible that seems like it's going to be unless I want to try to get to base which I'm not even sure if I can do might be the Axios access point we also have this stuff over here which is definitely not too far off let's see what they have to say some farms could help so it looks like he wants me to build one more farm as well how we doing here ten out of ten output output per year that probably feeds everybody right I'll build one more farm soon but let's worry about getting this quarry up first so and again I need to be chopping down wood as well so let me let me send these guys over here we'll chop down a couple of these trees again just to get the wood and also to clear a little bit of a path of a quarry and then this should this should get things going fairly well the roads are built extremely quickly to basically just put it down on a boom it's done once that's cleared we'll have another road go right to there right to there and then the quarry will go down right there I think that'll take care of our problems the quarry being here actually may even have a duplicity advantage with the second source but I don't know if they'll actually go that far our food stores are running low another he still wants another farm okay so I might have to listen to him at this point he's got my best interest in mind but we're gonna keep doing this one two buckle my shoe there we go and again we're so close so close to that quarry if I could just get to chop down one more little bit of shopping would please please there we go alright and there it is there's the quarry source of stone complete very nice the e wants the food okay so you know what I think I got to listen to him at this point he's clearly looking out for my best interest let's go ahead and get that second farm down this isn't very fertile unfortunately but it could be fine all the same I could also you know what I was thinking about doing is putting the forester up here anyway so what if we did this instead use this very fertile land and then we can build a road right up this way and that way we do take away another very fertile tile right there unfortunately but does allow us to use this one maybe even use this one in the future let's chop down this wood we'll build a forester probably about like right here well actually let's have a look at it let's see where the space Ford is going to be how we can't use it yet okay so we get away gotta wait till we get the correct resources so how we doing now without food soon they could die okay they're actually starving so let's I think I think we're good now four people visited as well but sadly could not find a home so see because we're prioritizing certain things we're having to leave leave other things behind early on here so let's go ahead and try to focus on that as well we only need five more more wood for the hovel I might want to have them even chop down a couple more let's just finish off this guy this little tree doohickey right here maybe even this one that's a little closer that one might be nice too let's get those to get the wood sources from that and then we'll finally be able to build the Forester which is probably going to end up being like right around here I think it takes a space of about two that area I also don't know whether or not having a farm in that space would impact it I hope it doesn't we know what I could do instead instead of up our farmland potentially you still you still mad about the food or we're fixing it man we're working on it hold your horses geez now I'm starting to wonder okay well first of all I'm pretty sure at this point that he's trying to warn me of potential fatalities so let's just go ahead and build one farm I suppose and this might end up being farmland for the most part just because like even if we built out a road like that or not like that I guess but like this I'll get built two more they're in the very fertile farmland and then that would take care of things fairly well that we'd have to build quite a bit of non farmland stuff I'd assume over here farm lands interesting to me I'm not really sure on the percent of where the best place is to be because it tells you to you know take advantage of the very fertile land of course it also tells you that the farms are vulnerable to flooding send it right there at the end so I wonder if putting them too close to the water would actually be detrimental in the future but hopefully we have two advisers here we have nearly the resources for the forestry temporarily closed other buildings and build new homes wants me to make building the homes a priority we do have people continually visiting so I suppose maybe I should listen to him I'm going to keep building the road out to the right let's go out like this and bam and that looks ok no one is available to work on our new construction so we actually do have to close down something in order to make it work out I might have to be the quarry in fact wouldn't it should we I don't want to demolish it though how about we can just close it close the quarry for now have those other people go work on other and then we'll be able to build those things much more quickly okay that works I'm learning yay stores are running low again but we do have the farms now the houses I see wants me to check the house to see how we can improve our conditions wants access to charcoal has neighbors make some happy road access makes them happy once access to a well well that makes sense no really have a lot of water access do we were all drinking from the fountain of the ocean that's pretty gross so a well where would that be it's going to be in town need five logs for that that's very easy as soon as I can get the forestry going which I'm still putting off I need 15 logs for that damn it alright I guess I'm just gonna have people chop down and I don't think anybody even actually working on anything right now okay well I mean I'm kind of thinking about the possibility of just like building all the way up to here maybe even like a road along the water or something I don't know how I'm going to make it work but let's just chop down a shitload of wood over here maybe even over here too in fact this might be easier and I am pretty sure I'm going to put the Forester over here at this point just because this this little patch right here just seems like it's perfect to just replant and chop down wood perpetually so let's do that you still pissed off about the farms okay I got you I got you man don't worry we'll take care of it he's going to mark like five of these for chopping and hopefully they'll just continue to do it and we'll get the resources necessary I don't think we need to be more stone for a little while at least so we'll be able to put anybody who's idling to work on that at the moment free homes now should be enough for a little while they might all be near full at this point though yeah I only got space for two more so I might want to build yet another Road out real quick but we got to get the forester going I think that's going to be right about now so let's put the road down right here let's actually check with the ranges on the Forester again like I wanted to right there it's actually not gonna be able to cover it with very well what if I did down here instead that's probably way better isn't it I don't know if the fertile land makes a difference with that but I'm going to go ahead and build a road right straight down through here and I think that's going to be our answer to the Forester problem down like that and then but a being about a boom good okay that is finally done very nice and now we probably need to look at a granary although yeah our food supplies are still pretty low so we maybe we need to actually get a farm going again we're starting to okay well hold on let's wait till they put them into stores and see we're working with they just brought all they're just eating the food as soon as they get it though that's the thing yeah as soon as they bring it into the storehouse it's going straight to their homes too we're pretty low on supplies still they've got a good amount that bring it back from the farms anyway 15:18 gonna have what like 20 I think we'll actually be okay more farms could help you still yeah I mean though I don't think we're going to need it I think we're all right but each of these putting ten output per year I want to put down one farm right here ooh not an orchard although that might not be a bad idea produces food based on soil fertility is that can I give it a shot I'm gonna try this one out oh it's a little bigger okay you know what let's try that let's do that right there Oh big lightning storm those fun that's crazy okay put another road down there and let's go ahead and throw down another hovel as well and then probably build a well too because why not we'll have the resources for that very soon courtesy of the forester who I believe is fully stocked two out of three work leaves here not fully staffed we also don't have to quarry going right now so we definitely need to get Helms up three people visited to is well okay so yeah that's clearly clearly a priority again we've got plenty of people available to work on the construction right now I think they finished this chopping task so once this is all completed I think once we get the home done let's look at the orchard finished we'll be able to get a lot of production going fairly quickly I we need homes we just miss out on a lot of people that sucks probably wanna build one more in fact let's just go down let's commit to it right now just have a nice row of houses right here Oh holds up to twelve peasants two heads of household for bringing food and there's a manner as well nice that's cool that cost a little bit of gold it looks like actually let's build a cottage well the cottage rat cottage right next to these guys we got 25 logs for that probably don't have to build a house just yet I think we got enough space for everybody I have this looking 29 food output per year hmm with four very fertile tiles the farms are far more productive than that fertility bonus that's just the bonus of the fertile tiles for the orchard I imagine you're the five residents here they all want the well we should probably go ahead and build that where should we put the well though maybe it like the end of this I don't know what the best place is for it it probably has to be adjacent to the water I'd imagine reduces chance of fire spreading provides access to water in case of fire and I don't think it actually has to be near the yeah I think it has to be by the water at all you just build a well right there everybody's pair it pretty happy about that and imagine right yeah plus say it happened just look at that access to charcoal as well is still a pretty big priority for some reason I imagine that keeps the house warm or something during the winter place yeah that's weird how does that work okay well complete foresters feeling good oh my god you've got some of Johnny's magic beans those trees grow like wildfire holy I almost want to put down at second foresters well how many idols we got we got three idols I can probably restart the quarry as well let's go ahead and open that up again for workers two idols at the moment probably just from completing the well I imagine they're happy about everything oh they have access to charcoal apparently what we're the quarry are we getting charcoal this is news to me huh all right what do you guys have to say food stores running low still better for our peasants tonight oh they like large houses huh well I was certainly considering that option we built this road out here that's probably a good call and let's man see with this barren land here I'm really wondering if this is the best place to build all this I don't really know where my second option I guess right here would have been a pretty solid farming location we've had to build a weird diagonal road though along this which I'm not sure I would have loved okay plenty of space to build a bunch of within these uh tiles here too we just got to keep in mind food is still very low I guess we just need to build another farm and even another orchard I don't want to build a farm there though let's do one right there within range of the well seems smart not even what if we build another road right up here and then we just have back-to-back farms although that barren land I wonder if we can change the fertility of the land I kind of doubt it that would be a little silly irrigation maybe I don't know fig style we can look up some upgrades all right we're freaking out about the food situation now I suppose so I needed to address this a while ago do I want to build a granary kind of well if we build it right here right next to the keep that would block off our access to that though so how about instead like right there maybe or like right there right there right there that looks good that looks solid though the granary get our food stored up man I guess we need a lot more heat then with three full bushels of AK Apple's stacked up on their heads that's great look at all this food yeah we really we're panicked about it still come on I feel like we're not hungry I feel like we're fine look at that I love that so much hi guys what you got there Justin Bailey dreams of the days when they were a child you're 22 you're still a kid bad attitude Bailey the peasants are stale K you I just I got to stop listening to this guy v visited but none can find homes we need that cottage up okay so I think our food issue is finally addressed with the town square we can build that sounds like fun festivals to increase happiness and attract new peasants look at that we are so close to this Forester come on buddy there it is cottage yes I love it I love it let's do it looks so nice too let's get it up anyway how's that if we build a town square we could throw festivals I was thinking the very same town square 20 logs 10 stone I think another Forester is probably in the mix right now we're starting to use the stone a little bit faster than you're using the logs the lanza go away very very quickly we could build like glue if we just built all the way like three or four foresters all the way down to the end of this we could abuse that would be pretty sweet I think I might actually do something not far off that idea let's build that road all the way down there we'll chop down this tree in the way and then I think I'm actually going to just build another Forester right down here take full advantage of that five people visited none could find a home one day man one of these days and look at that we have way more space for food now at small granary made a huge difference I I was running into that issue a lot the first time I try to where I was just over supplying uncrewed when I have those three farms available for like five people so this is a fairly good balance I think at this point we've got plenty of food supply to stock up we got a good amount of people with a small cottage on the way and hopefully it'll be finished up in time for the next wave of folks to come supply us with bodies going a little slow though I guess we're gonna have a ton of people idle available to help at the moment some of it was ruined by the winter improving paths to the granary would help improving paths to the granary we don't really need to do that do we it's right there you're not being serious with those words are you you're you're you're pulling a prank on me I don't like advisors that prank you're gonna have to go and that's when I asked him a question with my ax building stacked to form walls and towers taller walls are harder for EM the enemies to destroy may only be built atop castle walls sigh okay so we got to this is a whole nother endeavor as well by the way which makes me think I probably put the small grit granary in the wrong place directly adjacent to my castle that I'm looking to build out eventually so we'll have to fix that one day but yeah we can build the castle and make it a lot bigger a lot more formidable and make it a lot better easier to defend as well all right small cottage is looking pretty good I love being able to see the inside of it it's so great all those little details I love stuff like that man the construction process is actually very satisfying to watch in this game seeing the framework of the house we built up in those little smoke cloud effects as it slowly slowly comes together it really is it looks so much it looks so liveable that's the best word I can find for it it looks very livable and I like that a lot all right cool what we got going on it's not a ton that we need to worry about at the moment I don't think so we can start to look forward and see what other sorts of possibilities lying wait we also need to build out these roads with a second Forester which I'm fairly certain I've got the yeah I got the resources for that now so let's maybe go ahead and put that down to going to need to give him a little bit more range what's he looking at bring to this foresters down to okay its these two roses this one right here so the range for the new one needs to be about there so I need to build the road a little further down yeah we'll do that okay we probably I guess since only like two maybe three forests trees if we go all the way down all right let's do it well chop those out of the way and then we'll get these roads down I will get it wait don't wait all right wait for now wants me to build a treasure room building in the castle cost 50 stone which might actually get close to taxes peasants suppose I can probably get away with that right now everybody seems pretty happy if we can find home we're still not done with a small cottage we only got one person building this damn thing it's so huge I thought we were building the roof we weren't even working on that yet oh my god somebody help this poor man building an entire small cottage by himself jeez is he done almost you guys growing over here flooded oh no the heavy rains flooded our harvest I think we're still okay though I think we got a plenty of food at the moment we need more bodies man that's the thing we already got so many people committed to just about everything we got going on right now we need more people to move in it's why we need the cottage man come on you're so close you're so close waiting for always waiting for seven logs right there right that it almost almost waiting for four we'll get there we'll get there ideally before year 14 and the new wave of people was that it and was it now that was so close damn it there's the logs you need there's the cottage alright that was man way too long it's still not done it needs one more and I've got so many resources right now I should really be building stuff what's that what do I need still thinks I need to improve path to the granary but I don't think that's true I think we're good and there's the final log the final piece in the puzzle in the small cottage is complete twelve residents now have a happy home ok very good still needs access to charcoal which I still don't know how these guys found that in the first place I have no idea where that came from but we'll find out maybe eventually Oh charcoal is coming from wood so we must just have the capability of doing that charcoal maker used for heating cooking and smithing produces smoke nearby but homes won't like so I need to do this in our industrial area let's do that right here I guess sure no one is available to work on the new construction try closing non-essential buildings in yeah right so that makes sense so we get a alright three new residents nevermind we don't have that problem anymore temporarily calamity doesn't need to worry about that ok cool three new people just moved in they're building the charcoal maker right now which will make our residents happy and it seems like a pretty natural place to end off coming off of the end is nigh places I need a little bit of a relaxation technique so this is this is going to do it might be a shorter series as well we'll see how things go for for this one but for
