okay I'm going to go over some detail with the universal jig which is designed for in essence the entire AR family both the polymers this is a metal one missus tag arms lower eight percent obviously it's designed for receivers that are already finished usually if they're populated if they're not populated have never been populated before these these pins here are exactly 0.375 three quarters of an inch I'm sorry three eighths of an inch many times if your receiver has not been used or populated with a safety before the lot of guys will drill these out to 375 and since the same diameter as this pin so that creates a problem right there anything when they're both the same you're gonna have a little bit of a bind what makes it worse is that they'll anodized so now you have a bind then you have something that adds to it so then it becomes a point where becomes a mess this needs to be the the blueprints pectus at three seventy six so this is the 375 pin 376 hole should fit just fine okay and if they do they'll fit tight they're supposed to hold them anyway this is a forging the forging is flush on this surface is flat these spacers are has there's been some people not understand what they're for the spacers go inside the relief cut into here so the snap in place they're ambidextrous so you just flip it over the big thing is you just want to make sure that you're putting this the actually can't put them together wrong but no matter which side you use it on you still have a hole for your auto sear so you're going to take notice what this does it takes the slop out now it's nice and tight so you put your surface you put this into this surface here pull this surface here and there the tight are supposed to be tight and so what you're doing is you're going to have these are going to be held in place by this so this snaps in place and it's tight as well supposed to be so now yeah now there's no rattle now these are held where this plane is even with the plane there so now your Odyssey role is exactly where it needs to be which is in relation to the bushing they're in place I think that this is exactly where the auto sear needs to set in relation to that and what holds it flush is this has to be held in place by the tops and you have the mill top let me show that profit yeah I just kind of tie it so bear with me here all right the two tops that you have this is a milling top and I've had people not understand what this little piece of plastic isn't here that little piece of plastic shows the metal that need that has to remain above the safety switch and if you mill this flush your safety switch will just flop around and you throw your receiver away so you do not ever cut this plastic piece off that is going to show you exactly how you make it's not a figure eight but you're going to take your mill you're going to go around here then you come in like that a little bit exactly to the shape now the reason that doesn't go all the way to the top is I wanted to create a three-dimensional simulation of what it's going to look like the Shelf is down point four three oh and so I lowered it within this to give you the depiction of it's going to be lowered down so do not cut this off that's kind of critical so anyway this is a three dimensional relief of what's going to be you mill around here you come back and take your shelf up but you have to leave that shape about tenth of an inch show it above the safety switch if you don't and you pierce the safety switch area you're going to throw it away so it's critical you do you follow this pattern exact okay so this is the milling one this is the drilling one [ __ ] hold it ring you see little holes these are a little sixteenth inch hole side by side and you'll drill down and you'll pierce the surface they're right next to each other and so you're going to drill those down point four three L as well and this will allow you to take a Dremel and you kind of cut off flush and then knock this surface off this one actually goes all the way the bottom these goes short so there's a little bit of a three-dimensional depiction on that both of these snap in place on top no play and like I say the little safety I mean that's safe TV you have a screwdriver price Watts because price spots because it's so tight pull it off and you have your two holes punched you'd have this laid out where you either have drilled it or you're ready to mail you do the shape and we'll check is done what it's supposed to do so hopefully that helps and if you're going to be using it on any other type receiver you take the little spacers off and now it will sit and fit into you see it has that three demand that's shape there is designed for Oh polymers have this cutaway there's a couple things and have a cutaway there's a 308 that has a deeper cut away that's why there's the second Ridge in there but anyway this is designed to fit everything that's why it's called a universal but to make it nice and tight on the forgings you have to use these pieces if you don't you little bit of play so anyway they snap in place and hopefully that explains everything that you need to know
