[Music] hey gang jury here in today's video i'm going to show you how to take a stripped lower receiver and turn it into a complete lower so all you have to do at that point is slap on your upper and you are good to go it's going to be a step-by-step process i'll show you all the parts that i ordered to assemble my lower put everything together and do some function test and check it out so let's get to it all right gang so this is our lower um it's just stripped lower this is the part that's going to have the serial number on it any good lower is going to cost you right around you know about 100 price point it doesn't really matter the manufacturer just as long as you get one from a from a well-known company you're you're going to be in good shape the kit that we're going to be installing today is a battle arms lower kit it's called their enhanced complete lower parts kit it comes with everything you need to put together your lawyer it's even got a couple different allen wrenches in here the only thing it doesn't come with is your buffer tube assembly you'll need to purchase that separately along with whatever rear stock you want to use of your choice so first thing we're gonna do we're gonna open up our battle arms parts kit and we're gonna actually separate our parts okay gang we have the package uh unpacked for the lower parts kit and i'm just gonna go over the little i have everything separated in their little group so i'm go over each group so this is your magazine release and you have your magazine button and spring still magnetized mag bolt release bolt release pin bolt release detent and spring the detent on this one has a little bit larger top to it with a rounded quarter and then a smaller pin that's how you can identify that i identify that the roll pin is holds the bolt release in place this is going to be your buffer tube detent in the spring your take down pins take down springs and pins the pins on the takedown pins are just short little pins rounded on each corner your selector switch spring and detent and its detent has a little grooved shoulder on one end that's how you can identify that pin trigger guard this trigger guard is actually held in by screws of course we have our grip and hold down bolt for our grip up here to our trigger assembly trigger assembly spring is actually already on the trigger assembly you can see its orientation the disconnect spring and disconnect the disconnect spring for the trigger assembly uh this disconnect spring has a little bit flared end on one side and that's how you can identify that disconnect pin hammer hammer spring and hammer pin so those are basically our groups for the lower kit and we'll begin our installation so taking our lower first thing we're gonna do is put our magazine release in so we're gonna drop this in like so flip it over take our spring spring goes over the shaft take our button our button head is threaded so you're gonna have to push down on the spring while holding it on the other side they just get the first couple of threads started okay so we have our first couple of threads started and what we're gonna do is i actually have a small little screwdriver here that put electrical tape in we're going to push it in from this side line it up and you're going to need to push it in a little bit further than you actually can with your finger so while we're pushing it in we're actually going to turn this about five or six times like that line it up release it and you're gonna want this just below flush which we have it and you can look inside here just as long as you push it you're actually releasing the magazine you're in good shape so we have that in all right next thing we're going to install is our trigger assembly now our trigger assembly the spring might not come on it like this one but what you want to do is put the spring in this orientation like you see here and if you can imagine when actually you pull pull the trigger you want the spring to put to put the trigger back in its normal position we take our detents or i'm sorry disconnect spring and the flared end goes in this little groove right here so we just kind of put the disconnect spring in place and then disconnect is going to basically ride in that groove right there on top of it and then our pin is going to go through both of those and hold everything in place once we actually have it in the in the lower receiver and then our pin is going to hold everything in place so what i'm going to do is i'm going to drop this in place get the trigger in there take our disconnect set it on top i know it's difficult to see and then from the side you're going to just kind of push down with your finger and line up the hole of the disconnect and trigger and then put in the pin now the pin gets installed there's a couple of grooves on it put the side without the groove in first and that actually allows you to install the pin a little bit easier so what we're going to do is line everything up try to start our pin give it some wiggles and just be patient with it to get everything lined up in fact we can actually start our trigger first looking down inside of there okay and then take our disconnect put our disconnect in place and hold it down and just about home and now we're home now we have our trigger assembly in in place and you can see how it acts there next thing we're going to do is our hammer and hammer pin so our hammer the spring goes on the hammer just like this and if you can imagine when it's sitting in the receiver the hammer is going to be like this and so the spring is going to be wanting to stroke the hammer in this direction so that's how you're going to have your spring orientation on the hammer and what it's going to do it's going to slide in like this and these two ears are actually going to ride on the on that pin we just installed so we got it in there and it's just being held in there real easy right now so don't get too aggressive with it you can see our hole is actually almost lined up again take the pin uh side without the groove first take your thumb kind of push it to get it aligned up the rest of the way there you go okay there we go and there we go and now it's on all the way now they kind of test it right now you can actually put your hand here you don't want to dry fire it and let it hit your block so make sure your hand is holding it and then back she locks and then trigger reset so everything's working right there for our trigger group all right so we have our our trigger group all installed what we'll do is we'll put our selector switch in next our selector switch goes in like this and then this is our pin for the selector switch it's the one with the little groove on it like i mentioned earlier it actually goes in this hole right here now this spring for our selector switch is the one that's a little bit stronger and a little bit different from our detent pins goes in the bottom of our grip just like that and then you take and line that up like so and it puts puts pressure you can actually feel it now the detent is actually working and then next thing we're going to do is put our grip on with our hold down bolt and that's what they actually supplied you an allen wrench for that so we'll drop that in place get that in there like that and like i mentioned this one actually has different positions that you can actually install this at so this angle right there looks pretty good we can adjust it later if we want to tightening it down with supplied allen get a little snug and let's try it out so unsafe working fire release reset save all right so we actually have the selector switch installed next thing we're going to do we're actually going to put the um uh lower in our block and we're going to install the buffer buffer spring and buffer tube assembly and we're going to have to set the camera up for a different angle so we'll be right back all right so we have our receiver in our little holding fixture here holding block and next thing we're going to do is install our buffer retaining spring goes in this hole right here our buffer retaining pin the spring actually goes inside the pin there just like that and then our buffer tube now i put our castle nut on our buffer tube along with our ring uh important to note that the ring that the detent is going to face towards the receiver okay and then we'll start threading this in and then what you want to do is hold down the the buffer me do it see if i can do it from this side and then screw in the buffer to where it's just basically past the the lip but not binding on the pin so i'm about right there so i the pin can still freely move up and down but it's being retained down in the hole by the buffer tube that's exactly what you want now what we're going to do is i'm going to spin it around again and we're going to put in the hold down pin hold down spring and d10 and then tighten up our buffer tube next thing we're going to install is our take down pin this is the shorter the two take dump pins goes in this location right here and here's the groove that the detent is actually going to slide in so we'll kind of line that up in the back already this is our small little detent we can rotate our buffalo tube just a little bit more and actually put the detent in its location right there put the spring behind the detent and then we can okay i actually felt the detent engage the takedown pin rotate our buffer tube back in its location and then very carefully move this pin closer not taking care not to bend the spring move the spring down just a little bit take a little tool i want to move this spring down just a little bit to kind of get it nice and lined up straight and then move there we go and then once you have that in place just hold it and tighten up your castle nut and then magpul makes a tool like this now this is one of the more expensive tools that you can find out out there on the market there are you know other manufacturers to make tools this one happens to be magpul you can put it on and make sure your buffer tube is nice and straight tighten up your castle knot and you're in good shape now after you've done all this there you can stake the castle nut in place right here and there's no location over here there's probably other modifications i'm going to do this in the future so i'm not going to go ahead and stake mine right now but if you're completely done with your lower and that's the way it's going to be you can stake that so to ensure your castle net uh never comes undone so check our detent our takedown pin take down pin it's working just fine on to the next step all right so once you hit we have our buffer tube all torqued down and in place it's just a matter of taking our spring putting it in the back of the buffer the pin will actually kind of hold the spring in place and then taking our buffer sliding it in and locking it in place and now the the buffer two assembly is complete next thing we'll do is put in the front tank down pin all right the next thing we're going to do is put in our front take down pin and it goes in this location just like this groove facing towards the receiver and in order to install the spring and the detent uh into the receiver to get the pin in the best way to do it is get one of these little installation tools and there's several different ones out there in the market i'll provide a link down in the description below the one that i'm using here but you simply take the installation tool and line the hole up with the whole receiver take the spring get it into the hole take your little pin start it in the hole of the tool and then take the other part of the tool which actually is used to push the pin the rest of the way into the receiver and once you get it into the receiver you can actually rotate the tool down like that and it's holding everything in place now the last step is you actually take your takedown pin and you start pushing basically this pin out all right take this part out and then there you go and now your front take down pin is in place next thing we're going to do is install the bolt catch okay now we're going to install our bolt catch and our bolt catch goes in this location right here like this so but we'll install our spring and then install our d10 our d10 has a little pin actually goes onto the spring there and then we'll take our bolt catch and we have to push it down and actually goes into that location right there but what i'm going to do is take a slave pin one of my punches my smaller punches start to install this and then carefully just slide this smoke small little punch from this side just like that which is going to hold everything in place now you could put some tape here if you're worried about maybe scratching the finish on your receiver but if you just take some care you should be in good shape i also have these pin roll pin installation tools that actually have rubber coating they actually came from a kit installation kit from wheeler delta series i'll leave it linked to this in the description below for for these as well this this one right here in particular is actually the rope and starter goes in just like so take your little hammer put it uh put it in place right there and again it has rubber coating we'll get the pin started then you take your other drift actually get it on there and we'll knock the pin the rest of the way home okay and it looks like we're installed and you just want to make sure you have an equal amount of your roll pin sticking out both sides which we do and everything looks good now the very last step that we have to do is put the trigger guard on and then we're all set we'll do that next all right gang so next thing we're going to do is installing the lower trigger guard and one thing i did run across building this lower which i didn't do on my last lower which was you know pretty much exactly the same parts and kit but i found out that this trigger guard the holes weren't just lining up exactly with the holes in the lower receiver so i actually did open up the holes in the lower receiver uh just a bit um to get the screws to line up and now we'll just go ahead and install the screws okay and let's go ahead and snug them all up one thing i do like about this trigger guard as you can see it actually has a curve to it versus the ones that come straight across and if you're hunting and you have thicker gloves on it gives you a little bit more room um if you're using uh thick gloves if it's cold outside versus the ones that come straight across so it's kind of nice and one last thing is just putting the rear grip on our rear stock on and grab go ahead and grab our rear sock go ahead and slide that on like so grab our can there you go complete lower assembly all set right ready to put your upper on and then you have yourself a complete rifle all right gang well there you have it uh complete lower assembly step by step instructions and how to put it together it's really not that difficult upper assembly is actually easier than doing the lower so if you can tackle this you can do a upper assembly no problem i'm going to leave links in the description below to all the components that i used in today's video if you did like today's video please give it a thumbs up i'd really appreciate it and if you're new to the channel consider subscribing and click clicking on that bell so you never miss a new upload well that's it for today gang so remember if you put your mind to it you can do anything all right gang take care see
