animating and eventure resolve isn't always the easiest thing to do even if you have a good system for it and know all the tricks it's still a really timec consuming process to create even simple animations that look good that's what I built the anim engine to fix currently it's in version 2 and has a ton of crazy features but to sum it up it's an extremely powerful framework the editor collection is built on allowing you to create simple animations or even complex animations without the need for key frames let's talk about some of the features first you can base everything off of either seconds or frames most of the time I just use the seconds control and that's the default option throughout the tool TOS but to get more precise control you can switch it to frames with just one click the anim engine allows you to toggle on or off the In-N-Out animations for the effect these are separate so you can have it animate in and not animate out or animate out but not animate in once you choose the animations that you want that's where the next set of controls comes in by default they're linked so the In-N-Out animations are exactly the same switching it to custom allows you to change them separately the first control is the animation length we can either move the slider or just type in a number to specify how long we want the animation to be right below that we can tell the tool to wait a specific amount of time before it actually starts the animation if you don't have the In-N-Out animations linked you'll have another version of these tools to control the out animation now animations can't be longer than the clip itself and when you're working with multiple animation controls it's sometimes hard to keep track of that in your head that's why the anim engine will tell you if the animation is too long for your clip if you get that pop up there's a few options to fix the issue first you can make the clip longer so that way the animation fits if that's not an option you can shorten the length of the animation or the animation offset so what fits within that clip the anim engine framework also provides easy access to the ease and controls the first drop down lets you turn it off completely using the linear option then you can choose between a bunch of presets using the easing option or create your own custom curve with a custom option what it's set to by default is always great but you do have the ability to change it if you need for this you can even do bounce or elastic animations in any of the tools for this one set the in easing to none and the out easing to either elastic or bounce it's that easy some tools like whip animate whip text and whip highlight have multiple objects that animate within the one effect these tools contain the global anim engine which everything is going to be linked to in the context of whip text you might animate the size position and rotation all in the one tool and all of those would be controlled by that one Global anim engine but you don't always want that each of those controls does allow you to unlink the animation it'll add in a new anim engine that only affects that control the possibilities with this are endless and that's why the anim engine is currently the best animation framework for D Vinci resolve feel free to check out some of the other videos on my website to see it in action 95 if not 100% of the animations in my videos are created with some tool powered by the anim engine if you're a content creator it's going to totally change your workflow and you'll never be able to go back
