[Music] my [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] well hey hey hey everybody happy tuesday to you so excited as always to go live and uh today is a very very exciting one um first of all because i am a former worship leader i did that for 12 years at various churches in various capacities and so worship is something that is near and dear to my heart as i'm sure it is for you uh and so this is a very very exciting stream it's a different kind of one normally whenever i do live streams i do quite a bit of teaching going through a certain book of the bible long form but this time i really wanted to leave it up to you and i really wanted to piggyback off of the last video that i did on friday if you haven't caught it yet i'm analyzing the biblical and theological accuracy of a song written by a member of bethel church and the name of the song is champion and so there's a couple of lyrics in that song that i took issue with and i highlighted those in that video on friday so if you missed that you're definitely going to want to check that video out but i figured because so many people were sending messages emails dms and comments on that video saying what about this song what about that song what about this song i figured that i would do a follow-up live stream where basically i'm not here to do any major teaching all i want to do is take some time to analyze your favorite worship songs to make sure that these songs are theologically accurate now if you're watching this on the live excuse me on the replay just know that below this video about an hour or so after this stream ends you will see some time stamps to the all the songs that we cover in this particular live stream so if there's a particular song that you're wondering that i cover all you have to do is look down in the description below and you can see those time stamps and you can skip to the song or the songs that you want to check out as it relates to whether i believe these songs are theologically accurate and with that being said this is my perspective based on my understanding of the scriptures i know and respect that someone else might look at that same song and uh and come up with a different perspective i respect that but as i see it as i understand how the scriptures are i'm going to try to give you what i believe is the proper theological viewpoint of some of these most popular songs all right now a couple of housekeeping things while we are here uh first and foremost guys uh i don't know if you guys know this or not but we do have a community we have an online community that if you want to be a part of what we believe is becoming slowly the number one uh fastest growing online christian community it's not a facebook group it's a place wherever i meet with you all a couple times a month i do a live bible study there for people who are only inside of the community it's normally about 90 minutes to two hours i go very deep in the scriptures my wife does a women's bible study as well once a month dealing with women's issues and also we do a live q and a once a month as well where i basically just come on and answer any question that you may have about the bible about christian life we have challenges every single month that are designed specifically to help you grow and your walk with god so if you want to join this community this fast-growing community all you got to do is go down to the description and click the link and you'll be able to learn a little bit more about that community all right and um also if you would like to pledge your financial support to our ministry you want to help us out you would believe in what we're doing uh feel free to do that by going to forward support there's no gift that is too small and i can assure you that whatever gift you give it will be used for ministry purposes and it will be much appreciated so thank you all so much for that we are non-profit if you would like to write that off or anything like that okay now that we got all of that out of the way let's jump in now before we jump in guys i just have a couple things that i want to say here and first and foremost the reason why i'm doing this live stream is because and i want you to hear me here the music that we are listening to is just as important if not more important than a sermon and reason why i'm saying that is because oftentimes if we're just being honest we go to church we hear a sermon right and we may or may not remember that sermon this is not a strike against the pastor this is not a strike against how good that sermon was but it's just the reality if we're all honest about it we may or may not remember that sermon or that that much about that sermon uh a few days after the sermon is preached and god forbid if somebody asks us two weeks from now man what did the pastor preach on couple weeks ago many people be like man i don't know let me go back and look at my notes if i even took any notes but it's not so with worship right worship has a way of staying with us we hear a song we like it it evokes a certain level of emotion it makes us feel close to god and as a result we want to play it again and again and then it ends up on our playlist and we're driving in the car we're playing it and then we're not playing it we're humming it we're singing it and so if we're not careful we will start to internalize and believe the lyrics that this song is actually promoting and if that song has false theology in it it could actually influenced the way we actually live our lives right so this is the reason why i stream like this is really really important all right so we want to make sure that our songs are theologically accurate so what i want to do today is i want to analyze a lot of these songs but more importantly if there is a lyric especially for you worship leaders out there if there's a lyric or a verse or something like that that may not be theologically accurate i'm going to try to suggest an alternate way of different words that you might be able to insert in there so that maybe you and your congregation can still sing that particular song and so if you want me to review these a song i ask that you put the uh the name of the song in the comments i'll try to get to as many as i possibly can in the time that we have and if i can't find it i'm going to ask you to maybe put a link to the descript to the lyrics of that song so i can bring it up on the screen we can read through the lyrics and we can analyze it in that way and then the last thing i'm going to say before we jump in is this lies i am all for creativity i think that as a songwriter you should be creative god is creative right god has created us to be creative as well so i encourage that right and i love what many of the uh of the new songwriters are doing they're trying to find new exciting and creative ways to talk and ex about god and express themselves to god all that is great right as a worship leader and as a worshiper i love that but here's the thing our creativity must always take a back seat to proper theology so in other words we can't be so creative that our creativity overrides or supersedes proper theology okay so with all that out of the way we're 10 minutes in i haven't even gotten to a song let's get started okay so uh some of you have been asking about reckless love all right so uh yeah let's just start off the gate with that one right away all right and uh let me go ahead and pull that one up here and uh yeah let me go ahead and pull that one up here real quick okay and i'm going to give my perspective on this particular song and uh let's go ahead and get it all right here we go all right all right okay so let's take a look at it before i spoke a word you were singing over me okay well i believe there's a verse in zephaniah that talks about god singing over us so that's good you have been so so good to me absolutely god is good by the way most of this song is spot on it's amazing theologically accurate before i took a breath you breathe your life in me yes you've been so so kind to me all of that is theologically accurate oh the overwhelming never-ending reckless love of god now that is where this song uh that really just this one word right this word reckless and if you look up the word reckless matter of fact let's see if we can look that word up okay if we look up the word reckless in the bible or not the bible excuse me in in it it says a person without thinking or caring about the consequences of an action right and so that is what that word means right now let's see what it means in marion webster uh marked by lack of proper caution careless of consequences right and so this is why many people take issue with this particular lyric of this song because we have to ask the question does this word reckless define god is god lacking proper caution is god careless not caring about his consequences or anything like that right reckless when we think about and we view someone who is reckless we think about somebody just going crazy and doing all sorts of things without really giving a whole lot of thought to what's going to happen afterwards and we have to ask the question does that really adequately describe the heart of god or is god intentional about everything that he does well it is and that's the reason why many people have issues with this the lyrics of this particular song okay oh it chases me down fights till i'm found leaves the 99 that's fine we know that in luke chapter 16 it talks about uh the good the shepherd leaving the 99 to go after the one that's great couldn't earn it don't deserve it absolutely it's talking about salvation god coming after us you give yourself away oh the overwhelming never-ending ending and you know reckless love of god you know you could throw in their uh endless love of god right you could throw anything in there instead of reckless when i was your foe you your love still fought for me romans chapter five you've been so so good to me when i felt no worth you paid it all for me yes jesus paid it all you've been so kind and then the chorus again there's no shadow you won't light up mountain you won't climb up coming after me now once again here the bible doesn't really talk about you know god lighting up shadows and climbing up mountains but the point of the song is that god loves us so much that there's nothing that god won't do to come after us and to and to um to try to woo us and to try to attract us to him because he loves us so much so whenever i'm a christian i may stray away from the things of god god is going to do what he can as a loving father to try to woo me back to try to come after me to kick down any walls and to tie down tear down any lies to come after me i'm okay with that i i could see god doing that okay uh i can see the heart of god doing all that so on and on and on and there you have it guys so um how would i rate this song um you know i i would rate this song um i would give this song out of a 10. you know i'd give it a i give it a nine you know i'd give it an 8.5 or a 9 out of 10. i just think that there's just that one word in that song that i take personal issue with and i think that there's an issue there okay all right uh good question there all right now uh let's just say here what are some other song egypt somebody said egypt by bethel music all right so let's see if we can pull that song up and let's analyze that song and somebody i think i saw somebody say uh saw a beautiful name with a beautiful name all right so we will bring that song up as well all right so let's just see if we can look at uh egypt okay all right so here we go and there it is okay i won't forget the wonder of how you brought deliverance the exodus of my heart all right because you found me you freed me held back the waters for my release oh yahweh right so it sounds to me like so far they are saying that you know what i'm not going to forget how you have delivered me from my past slavery from my bondage and they're using uh the nation of israel as a picture if you will of the christian life in a sense right and so i'm i'm okay with that right i'm okay with that so far um you're the god who fights for me yes god does fight for us we look at the book of revelation right god is going to fight on behalf of his people and we're going to fight with him right and so that that's fine god's spiritual warfare god is destroying enemy fights for us lord of every victory hallelujah hallelujah you have torn apart the sea you have led me through the deep now once again this is all symbolic language creative language to suggest that you know what god is making away from me right he's parting the sea when when my enemies may have been coming after me god is parting the sea and he's allowing me to walk on dry ground so he's god is creating a way for me he's opening up doors for me that i could not open by myself right he's doing miraculous things in my life oh i'm good with that you see what i'm saying because it's god who's the focus of doing these miraculous things you have led me through the deep okay so whoever wrote this song he's talking probably more out of his personal experience if you will and he's saying you know god you led me through the deep right hallelujahs praising god the cloud by day is a sign that you are with me once again pointing back to the old testament uh story of the nation of israel and pointing that into my life today okay you know what god is leading me he's talking about the guidance and leading of god right the fire by night is guiding the light to my feet because you found me you freed me held back the waters from my release right so once again i see this as the songwriter basically trying to use the picture of the nation of israel to try to paint a picture of how god might be working in the personal lives of his people and i don't think there's anything wrong with this because um it could very well be possible right that in my life god could be holding back some things or god could be opening up some things there's nothing theologically inaccurate about that okay so all this stuff here is the same he fights for me he tore apart the sea you stepped into my egypt and you took me by the hand okay so that's fine so now the songwriter is saying you know what the old testament is good but i have my own personal egypt i have my own personal bondage i have my own personal slavery story where lord you came in and stepped into my past life where i was experiencing bondage to sin and you took me by the hand and you marched me out and now i'm living in total freedom this is great so far right into the promised land man absolutely right and i will now i will not forget you absolutely deuteronomy chapter 8 talks about do not forget the lord whenever he brings you into a good land flowing with milk and honey and i'll sing of all you've done this is phenomenal my response to god for leading me out of my bondage is to everything i have with my whole being is to worship god and to sing praises to him death is swallowed up forever of course first corinthians chapter 5 15 rather death where is your sting grave where is your victory by the fury of your love okay and on and on and on you're the god who fights for me hallelujah you're the god who fights for me you stepped into my egypt man you know what i'm giving this song a 10 out of 10. i i don't see anything in this song right that is theologically inaccurate unless i'm missing something all right but i see this song as is just a creative way to describe the journey of a believer as we go through various seasons of life one season might be in egypt the bondage and then another season might be the season of blessing where we're in where god just blesses us the promised land i i like that song i'm good with that okay all right all right let's see what other songs we have let me see if my team is okay i think i saw one person what a beautiful name it is all right let's go after that one because i know that one real well and i do take issue with a couple of uh lyrics there so let me let me pull that up here all right let me pull that up right here and let's just see what this song is all about here we go all right okay you were the word at the beginning john chapter one all right in the beginning was the word and where was with god the word was god one with god the lord most high of course god jesus said i and the father are one no problem your hidden glory in creation okay now revealed in you our christ our messiah so far so good all right jesus glory was revealed to us right during his earthly ministry what a beautiful name it is what a beautiful name it is the name of jesus christ my king what a beautiful name it is nothing compares to this what a beautiful name it is the name of jesus oh yeah absolutely so far so good now here is where if i'm just being honest many churches have taken a little bit of an issue with this next uh line in the song and you may it's very subtle all right but it says you didn't want heaven without us so jesus you brought heaven down now you guys may think i'm picking you guys may think i'm picking and that's okay if you do but hear me out okay this in some way communicates somewhat of a man-centered uh type of approach to the gospel right a man-centered uh uh idea of the gospel right so it's this this idea right that the reason why jesus came right the reason why jesus gave his life on the cross is because of us because he didn't want because he was maybe because he was lonely because he was in heaven and he didn't want heaven without me being there so you see it makes the focus of jesus coming not so much uh because he wanted to be obedient to his father because his father said look this is what i need you to do to atone for the sins of the people no jesus was in heaven and he didn't want to be there without me so therefore he brought heaven down now once again it's subtle i get it i understand but this is where some churches have changed this the church i used to go to change it to we couldn't reach heaven without you so jesus you brought heaven down see we couldn't reach heaven without you we couldn't reach heaven without you so you can sing it that way right once again just need to be a little bit careful because it does in some way communicate you know that we are the center and focus rather than god all right my sin was great your love was greater what could separate us now okay so for the rest of the song all right i don't see much problems here death could not hold you the veil tore before you you silence the boast of sin and grave the heavens are roaring the praise of your glory for you are raised to life again you have no rival that's true you have no equal now and forever god you reign yours is the kingdom yours the glory yours is the name above all names powerful name powerful name so on and so forth i'm good with that okay so for this song i'm gonna give this song a i'm going to give this song a 9.5 i'm going to give it a 9.5 there's just this one little line there that i think could be adjusted to some degree all right and it's very subtle but i think it could be adjusted to some degree all right ah let's just see now somebody says fresh wind from hillsong all right now let me make sure my team is not sending me any other ones all right uh hillsong bethel elevation okay all right awesome awesome awesome all right let's look at uh oh let's good let's look at uh fresh wind from hillsong all right let's see what we got here uh let's see fresh wind let's see if it comes up all right yep it does all right let's analyze this one all right here we go all right fresh wind spirit sound rushing wind fire of god fall within holy ghost breathe on us we pray yeah so far i'm good with that right i mean if you're in worship and and you you want the spirit of god to speak and to move right you want the spirit of god to move move so spirit sound rushing wind okay yeah we know that the the holy spirit uh is compared to you know wind and breath fire okay i get that fire of god fall within okay all right uh once again need a little bit more clarity and what they mean by that but i'm fine with that holy ghost breathe on us we pray so you want the holy spirit to to breathe on you and breathe through you okay i'm fine with that as we repent turn from sin revival embers smoldering okay breath of god so i'm not sure you know okay revival embers smoldering okay all right breath of god fan us into flame we need a fresh wind the fragrance of heaven pour your spirit out pour your spirit out you know um for the most part i'm fine with this uh but you know i'm a little bit leery sometimes if i'm honest with you guys about songs that ask for more of the spirit right and just just hear me out songs that are always like oh i need more of your spirit more of your spirit right i want you to really be honest with yourself and ask yourself just be honest is it theologically accurate to ask god for more of his spirit when the bible says in first corinthians 12 13 that we all have access to the same spirit right so there's not a need for us to ask god for more of the spirit now what i think people are really saying whenever they're saying that is that they're basically saying god i need the spirit to take hold of me more or god i need to be able to tap into more of the spirit that i already have within me right and if we say it that way and if that's what we mean then i'm good with that right it's like okay i have the holy spirit within me and i need to find a way to tap into more of that power so that i can live a life that would be honoring to god oh i'm good with that but i'm not so good with asking god for more of his spirit because he's not going to give you any more of the spirit that he gave you to be the day you were uh saved right so that you got to be careful with that so pour your spirit out yes okay so that's just asking for god to move in this church service or in this worship service in a powerful way governed by your spirit these are people crying out to god god please move please let us experience the power of your spirit right now change our hearts convict our hearts move upon our hearts break every stronghold break every yoke right absolutely this is powerful for hearts that burn with holy fear purified in faith and deed refiners fire strengthen what remains absolutely our hearts should burn with holy fear purify our hearts and faith refine them this is all biblical strengthen what remains so we the church who bear your light lamp aflame city bright the bible says a city on a hill cannot be hidden so we the bible says we are the salt and the light of the earth absolutely king and kingdom come as what we pray that's exactly what jesus said pray this way right our father in heaven hallowed be to them thy kingdom come thy will be done so there you go we need a fresh wind okay i'm fine with fresh wind i'm frying with that right you know what sometimes life might get stale church might get stale uh our worship might get stale and we might say god i need a fresh experience i need something new i need something to to i need i need to experience you in a new fresh way absolutely i'm feeling that the fragrance of heaven pour out your spirit holy anointing the power of your presence pour your spirit out let all the redeemed prophesy and sing okay yes because the word prophesy in the new testament simply means to speak forth the word of god it does not always mean that you are foretelling the future it could just simply mean that you are forth telling the word of god the bible also says that everyone should seek to prophesy right so it says that in first corinthians chapter 14 i believe so i'm fine with that we can hear the wind blowing blowing blowing move upon our praise sons and daughters sing we hear the wind blowing blowing blood let all the redeemed okay once again same thing same thing same thing you know what i'm going to give this song i'm going to give this song a 10 out of 10. i'm gonna give this song a 10 out of 10. i like the song i like the lyrics i think it's powerful i think it's good i don't see anything that would give me any pause of any kind and so i i feel good with that okay i feel good with that thank you so much for the super chat i appreciate that okay let's go to another one too good to not believe by elevation all right let's look at that one too good to not believe by elevation all right to good to not believe ah there it is i believe that uh okay looks like by bethel again okay all right so let's take a look here and uh let's just see and i think somebody also asked about gyra as well but we're gonna we're gonna take a look at this one all right too good to not believe yeah yeah i've seen your power and i've seen you heal okay yeah we've seen god heal in the bible so we can definitely say with confidence that we've seen god's healing power manifested in the word of god i've lived stories that have proved your faithfulness okay yeah sure when you look at your own life have you have you uh have you proved that god has been faithful to you in your own past sure and i've seen miracles my mind can't comprehend okay i'm okay with that because you know what the bible says god is the same yesterday today and forever and if god can do miracles in the old testament and if god can do miracles through jesus christ then who's to say that god cannot and will not and does not do miracles today and it also depends on how you define the word miracle because at the end of the day a miracle might have been my marriage was falling apart and there was no hope for us to ever stay together but you know what now we're married we're happy we're thriving we're crushing it that's a miracle right and so there's a lot of ways you can define miracles so you know what i'm good with that and there is beauty in what i can't understand yes it is jesus it's you jesus it's you i believe you're the wonder working god you're the wonder working god all the miracles i've seen too good to not believe i'm okay with that listen some of y'all think i'm just this person that comes against anything spiritual and anything supernatural and anything charismatic i'm not i'm not that guy i cut it straight i look at the scriptures and scriptures i don't assimilate with any sort of i'm a charismatic or i'm non-charismatic or i'm a calvinist or i'm not i don't do that i consider myself a bible-believing christian and i cut it straight down the middle i don't have any particular partiality i'm not uh i'm not married to any particular theological system where i have to believe this because if i don't believe this then that shuts down my entire theological system i don't do that i look at what the bible says and i let the chips fall there okay so uh and you heal because you love yes that's good oh the miracles we'll see you're too good to not believe all right too good to not believe too good to not believe i can't resurrect a man with my own hands that's true praise god all right but just a mention of your see if they said i can resurrect a man with my own hands that would have problems with that because now you're stepping into the place of god and also i challenge you to go and try to do that on your own and you'd quickly see that 99 million times out of a million you probably can't do that just the mention of your name can raise the dead so all the glory to the one who can oh i love this song so far right because it's saying hey i can't do it but at the mention of your name you can right not that you will or you have to but you can i'm good with that the bible proves that right all the glory to you to the one who can not to me all right and then same you're the wonder working god the miracles okay i believe it i believe it oh my eyes have seen it you're too good to be true uh okay now this is where things get a little interesting i've seen cancer disappear okay i'm good with that because you know what who is to say that the songwriter of this song and potentially millions and millions of other people who might be singing this song might not have had that experience and i love listen guys i love how this is phrased i've seen cancer disappear now i want you to just watch me now i want you to compare that with whether the songwriter would have chosen cancer disappears in your name see that's the problem if i if it said cancer will disappear when i mention your name that is the problem because you cannot guarantee that cancer is going to disappear in somebody's body just from mentioning god's name but what you can say which is what they said is that you have seen at some point in your life cancer disappear yes i'm sure you many of you have and many of you have experienced i've seen metal plates dissolve i'm not sure what that means okay but hey maybe he has or she has don't you tell me can't do it okay because i've seen real life resurrection now see now this one right here this one right here i'm not so sure about now this is what i'm not so sure about okay you mean to tell me you've seen somebody who was pronounced dead right and now i'm not just talking about flatlining you know where you know i'm talking about a resurrection where they were in the grave right or they were dead they had a funeral right they were pronounced dead for more than 15 seconds like they didn't just have a flat line and then they you know gave the electronic electrical stuff and they spiked them no no you've seen somebody who was pronounced dead for let's say more than six hours come back to life i'm not so sure about that one i'm just gonna be honest i've seen mental health restored oh yeah of course anxiety depression suicidal thoughts you get it don't tell me he can't do it because i've seen families reunite okay finally they come back down all right yes absolutely prodigals return yes troubled souls delivered addicts finally set free of cancer disappear metal plates all right so all this stuff right here we'll see cities in revival and salvation flood the streets i love that right that's what we want to see don't tell me he can't do it we'll see glory fill the nations like the world has never seen all right you're the wonder working god on and on same things because my eyes didn't lie to me when i see i saw this precious girl receive arches in her feet let's see all right all right so once again this one this it okay okay so what's the point of that right just because you saw that i saw a precious girl receive arches in her feet okay that's fine who am i to argue and say that they did not have that experience or see that i cannot say that they didn't have that experience or they did not see that so you know what i'm going to have to give that a pass because theologically there is proof that that could have happened so i have to give that i have to give that a pass all right uh and my eyes didn't lie to me metal plate dissolved from that man's leg once again if that was the experience that they saw i don't know how you can look through somebody's leg right and see a metal plate dissolve and this is where i'm starting to not feeling too good about this all right because now they're starting to deal with some weird stuff all right uh oh of that of that precious boy we sung over this precious girl sung over and this boy comes back alive he was breathless now he's back to life he's living he's breathing because of resurrection power once again who am i to say that they did not experience this but what do you consider uh breathless what do you consider being dead uh okay but it's possible it's possible all right once again it's possible nothing our god cannot do families reunited troubled souls so on and so forth and that's it okay now uh for this song if i'm just being honest for this song i'm gonna have to give it a 8.5 just because there's some lyrics in here that if i'm honest uh as a little bit questionable as as to you know whether these things really did happen and whether these things are believable all right but i i can't i can't outlaw the song because i wasn't there physically to prove that this songwriter was not telling the truth and if god is able to do miracles today as he always has been who's to say that those things could not have happened so i'm going to have to just you know 8.5 on that one okay all right let's see if there's any let's see some others here that people are uh okay uh okay so y'all want to go to some maverick city now all right let's look at some maverick city uh when i lock eyes with you and we're gonna do breathe and we're gonna do gyro so let's move on to maverick city all right and uh let's just see uh let's just let's see what what we have here all right so when i lock eyes on you all right uh and let me say this too uh while i'm here uh when i lock eyes uh with you okay here we go let me just say this as well while i'm here and that's the fact that um just because a in my video on friday i said something i need to clear up i said that the worship songs need to be more about god and less about man and let me clear that up what i meant by that is i'm not suggesting that a worship song that communicates our love for god and my expression of thanks to god and my heart to god and my my gratitude to god shouldn't be sung there are some powerful songs that don't focus on the attributes and character and nature of god that focus more on my love for god right and i think those songs should be used those songs should be celebrated what i was meaning in my video is that when we start to we start to insert ourselves in the gospel when we start to equate what god is doing and say that i can do it too that is what i meant about man-centered gospel or man-centered worship it's not just a song that says you know jesus i love you oh how i love you all right it's focusing on lord i'm loving you i'm praising you i'm worshiping you and all that is fine okay all right so let's take a look now at maverick city and upper room lyrics all right let's take a look here all right so when i lock eyes with you i see my reflection when i lock eyes with you i feel your affection okay um how are you locking eyes with jesus right how are you locking is jesus a mirror [Music] you see your reflection okay once again this is where creativity you know might be going a little bit too far but we'll go with it for now but but once again when are you locking eyes with jesus right how are you actually locking eyes with jesus and what does that experience look like right i mean let's be honest about it y'all let's be honest about it right like like we worship jesus we sing about jesus but do we lock eyes with jesus i mean is he in front of you are you looking at and when you look at him do you see yourself is he a mirror like okay i'm i don't know i mean really okay when i lock eyes with you i feel your affection i love to get lost in you because you're my obsession okay i'm fine with that right sometimes you want to get lost in the presence of god because you're obsessed with god i'm good with that when i lock eyes with you on all i want is you all i need is you and all i see is you just you okay this is talking about a singular focus right um uh you know just focused 100 of your effort and your time on god okay same thing there because all i want is you all i need is you all i need is you you you all i need forever my life sing it again all i see is you so come in like a fire come in like a flood i don't care what it looks like i'm so in love so it's just basically saying lord i invite you into my life and sweep over me take over me like a flood would take over a a city or a fire would take over a home or something i want you i want to be so overtaken by your presence and your power that it's like a flood or a fire okay i'm good with that right i'm good with that okay i don't care what it looks like i'm so in love okay keep going down i'm so in love uh sing it again come in like a fire all i need is you just you just you coming like a fire i don't care what it looks like okay come in like a flood more and more and more search me oh god and search my heart that's psalm 139 come straight out of the scriptures and if you find any desire that's not you take it away that's straight from the scriptures psalm 139 take it away until all that's left is you absolutely this is talking about purging our hearts of anything that is not like you so that god can be seen search me i'm open search me because you made me this is straight psalm 139 i'm fine with that so for this song if i'm honest with you i'm going to give this a 9.5 maybe a nine yeah i'm gonna give it because i can't give it a 10 or i can't give it a 10. i got to reserve 10 if i give it a 10 where am i going to reserve the ones that are perfect right so this is a 9.5 in my mind um yeah this is a 9.5 in my mind just because i'm not quite sure if a proper way of expressing ourselves to god is that we look at him and and uh we see our reflection and we lock eyes i just think that the the creativity and some of that language might have gone a little bit once again guys 9.5 you can still sing the song 8.5 you can still sing the song right it's it's the ones that are seven you know six below that i'm thinking you might want to really watch out for all right all right let's see uh another one that people have said is uh breathe by maverick city okay let's take a look at breathe by maverick city all right here we go breathe uh is it maverick city breathe uh breathe by maverick city uh artists uh let's see uh maverick city i'm trying to find this particular song and i don't s let's see here oh here it is here it is right here okay yep yep yep all right we got it okay so let me go ahead and go back and uh and take a look at this one here here we go all right breathe featuring chandler moore jonathan mcreynolds and d.o.e this song goes out to the worried this song goes out to the stressed sorting out a million thoughts running through your head okay so this song is obviously wanting to minister to people who have a lot of anxiety a lot of inner thoughts maybe some depression some some discouragement to everyone that's waiting for better days ahead so you're filled with hope things are not good right now and you're hoping for something better later on you're tired and frustrated and leaving words unsaid please don't hold your breath just breathe so i love that right so saying hey you know what don't hold your breath waiting for all these things to happen later breathe breathe in the moment enjoy the moment right now like breathe and take in the life and the god what god has for you because it's a miracle that we can breathe right so it's saying celebrate the fact that you know what maybe you are tired maybe you're frustrated maybe you do have a million thoughts running in your mind and maybe you're hoping for better days right but at the end of the day thank god for the miracle of breath for the miracle of life there's power in the way that we breathe release your heavy burden so while you're breathing release your heavy burdens the bible says cast your cares upon the lord because he cares for you the bible says um come unto me all ye who are weary and heavy laden and i will give you rest right so yes this is good uh this is why we have breath oh and let everything that breath praise the lord that's psalm i want to say 100 or psalm 195 something this is why we have breath so praise the lord absolutely right sometimes you're in the desert sometimes you feel the pain sometimes he calms the storm and sometimes he lets it rain and that's great theology sometimes life is great and sometimes god lets it rain right don't hold your breath though right and live in the moment live in the season it's a miracle okay so release your heavy burdens okay just breathe just breathe somebody praise the lord i'm breathing i can feel my lungs taking air again just breathing i'm breathing at oxygen okay breathing it in my lungs okay i can feel my strength coming back okay that's great i can feel my lungs breathing in okay coming back again i'm breathing in oxygen i can feel my heart okay when everything is happy i praise the lord okay bless the lord in all times praise him continually the bible says that i want to say psalm 95 maybe continually in my lungs always always from the mountain to the valley i will bless the lord o my soul and all that's within me psalm 103. see you can't go wrong when you're quoting scripture in the song all right yes i will bless the lord and all that is within me i bless the lord i praise the lord so let everything that breath that means i won't use it to complain i love that the bible says i want to say in philippians 2 14. do everything without complaining so that's scriptural i won't use it to whine all day i won't use it to hate i have a better purpose for my breath so this is great this is talking about using your words properly for worship and for encouragement and admin admonition and for uh proper reasons i'm going to breathe out to tell my testimony i'm going to breathe out to worship i'm breathing to believe and that's why i have breath to praise god and any other use of it is beneath it so praise the lord some of the ways that i've used it i realized they weren't worth it so there's confession god maybe i've used my voice in a way that didn't honor you before and the reason i'm here today is to praise the lord you know what i'm giving this a 10 out of 10. i don't see one word or phrase in this song that would violate anything scriptural right i'm giving that a 10 out of 10. i there's nothing there that i would say violates any scriptural principle of any kind okay i think that i i think that that is there's a 10 out of 10 there all right all right let's see what else we have here uh gyra by maverick city let's take a look at that one all right okay you guys are picking some good ones so as we can see this is good that the majority of the music out here that we listen to is theologically accurate to some to some degree which is really really encouraging okay so let's just take a look at jira all right uh let's see here all right jaira all right i've i'll never be more loved than i am right now now i love that let's just stop right there that's perfect theology because we think sometimes that you know what um let me just go back here we think sometimes that that god loves me more when i obey him and whenever i sin god loves me less and so there's a lot of christians who live in that type of realm where they go up and down and they feel like you know what god loves me when i'm on top spiritually but god doesn't love me as much as he did yesterday because i just sinned last night no i'll never be more loved than i am right now right um wasn't holding you up so there's nothing i can do to let you down in other words i wasn't holding you up so how if i'm not holding you up how can i do something to let you down right i love that doesn't take a trophy to make you proud right i don't have to earn your love by doing something getting a trophy no you i i'm loved right now whatever whoever i am i'm loved no matter what i've done no matter who i am no matter what i do no matter what i will do i'm loved i'll never be more loved than i am now well right now going through a storm but i won't go down all right like that i hear your voice carried in the rhythm of the wind to call me out you would cross an ocean so i wouldn't drown okay i i like that is once again similar to reckless love it's just talking about how god would go to great lengths to to to save us maybe from sin save us from ourselves and that's biblical right he warns us he rebukes us he sends people into our lives to get our attention when we're wayward okay i'm good with that so i wouldn't be so enjoy so you've never you've never been closer than you are right now oh i love that see many of us feel like you know what um man god is so far away from me i've read my bible in a month right haven't read my bible in uh in a week and so god is far away from me the reality is that no god doesn't move you and i may move but because god is all he's omnipresent there's nowhere you can go that will flee from his spirit psalm 139 right so there's there's you know this idea that i'm far from god you may feel far from god but your feelings don't dictate exactly what's happening you're not really far from god even though you may feel it right now let's keep going jira you are enough you are enough and i will be content in every circumstance you are jira you are enough okay so uh absolutely gyro just means god will provide okay forever enough always enough so i love this it's basically saying you know what i don't need to keep asking for more i don't need to try to get filled from worldly desires and worldly passions you know what god is always going to be enough he's forever enough all right i don't want to forget how i feel now right now on the mountaintop i can see so clear what it's all about stay by my side when the sun goes down don't want to forget how i feel right now and then jira forever enough i'm already loved i've already chosen so this is a song that is basically just saying you know what for somebody out there who just feels like you know what you have to do something to earn god's love no you're already loved let that sink in for some of you who are watching this you are loved by god and you are already chosen he already loves he's already chosen you and i know who i am i know what you've spoken i'm already loved more than i could imagine and that is enough i'm already loved i'm already loved i'm already loved i know what you've spoken and more and more the same if he dresses the lilies with split beauty and splendor how much more will he clothe you how much more will he clothe use how the song goes so yes that's coming straight out of i want to say matthew chapter 5 about do not worry because if god cares for the nature and birds and things how much more will he care for you and clothe you that's straight from scripture if he watches over every sparrow that's matthew five he dresses the lilies just as the lilies how much more does he love you more than you could ask think according to his power working in us i want to say that's uh ephesians chapter three want to say right more than you could ever ask or think more than you could ever ask or think more than you could ever ask a thing it's more than enough jared you know what it's simple this is simple i'm giving this a 10 out of 10. okay i'm giving this a 10 out of 10. i don't see any issues with that particular song there all right all right uh okay all right now let's go and look at a couple other ones that people have said yahweh by marcus rogers all right now let's take a look at that one i didn't know that he had a song called yahweh i don't know if that was going to come up on this particular site but uh let's let's just uh let's take a look at it okay uh hmm let's just see i may have to i may have to have to pull up and see what those lyrics are so yahweh marcus rogers okay [Music] marcus rogers okay all right let's see i brought it up on a different site okay let's let's take a look at it okay all right uh let's see here okay marcus rogers there's something peculiar about this generation yeah everywhere we look around we see a word fulfilled uh okay i'm not sure you know everywhere we look around we see a word fulfilled okay let me just not pick on that okay i can feel it in the breeze i feel you drawing near okay pouring well pouring is misspelled here but i'm sure that's not okay a pouring of your spirit yes revival's here the earth is longing for the rightful king to take his throne yep uh well christians are i don't know about the earth but christians are okay oh how we long for the day that you'll take us home take your throne jesus take your throne okay yes i'm good with that uh we long for that day we call you yahweh we call you mighty god prince of peace you're the god of the universe yahweh mighty god great i am god of the universe all that is scriptural you have the holiest name in the universe yet you gave up free rights to us uh yet you you gave up free rights to us um i don't quite understand what i mean to call your name and be saved to call your name and see a change your name we gotta call it out our praise we gotta pour it out you deserve it so we pour it out for you okay i'll pour it out talking about pouring out the praise of course we call you yahweh we call you mighty god prince of peace i'm just a star in your galaxy now you know once again i think that's just uh creative language to suggest that i'm just you know a small part in god's bigger plan that's i love that your love is no fallacy your your truths my reality that you have revealed through brutality you left the 99 to find me your love is deep and about to drown me your grip is so is strong so i cannot leave your eyes see it all that's how you found me okay yeah god is omnipresent and omni omniscient you left the 99 your love is so deep your grip is strong your eyes you found me it's fine pour it out we call you yahweh outro you left the 99 to follow me okay yeah so once again you know i don't see anything necessarily issues with this particular song at all um i mean to be honest with you i i really don't see anything with this particular song um i mean i have to give it a a a you know 9.75 only because i'm not quite sure uh you know i'm gonna go give it a 10. i'm gonna give it a 10. i just don't see anything with this particular song that would give me any pause of any kind and so um you know i'm going to go ahead and give that song a 10. all right all right uh let's see here okay uh christian rap song uh let's see undefeated derek miner okay so let's do some christian rap okay let's go and look at some christian rap so let's see here uh undefeated uh let's just see here undefeated uh okay let's just see undefeated uh there it is right here by derek miner featuring derek miner uh okay all right let's take a look at this one here undefeated okay here we go look up in the sky oh i made it think i'ma think i'm gonna lie when you tell you when i tell you i ain't gonna take it i got hands on nations check my reputation okay uh i got hands on nations tech my reputation yeah that scoreboard's still 1-0 because my tomb is vacant that's why i'm undefeated okay now i'll be honest with you guys i don't really listen to a lot of christian rap all right so um you know i i need a little bit more clarity on what these lyrics are actually trying to say and communicate um i just don't fully understand them i'm not saying that it's unbiblical i'm saying i don't fully understand what i got hands on nations check my reputation scoreboard 1-0 because my tomb is vacant that's why i'm undefeated i just don't understand what is trying to be communicated so please don't take this as me uh knocking the song and so if some of you do tell me boys say all right verse who do you think that you are when i tell y'all that i run things y'all better believe me spin the earth on my finger like round ball oh i got it finally duh okay it clicked my bad it clicked this is god talking and he's saying look up in the sky oh i made it god is saying oh i made it think i'm going to lie when i tell you i ain't going to take it i got hands on nations in other words god is in control god has got his hand on the nation he's got a whole world in his hands as we used to sing in sunday school check my reputation yeah that scoreboard still 1-0 because my tomb is vacant speaking about jesus tomb and he got up and he's undefeated okay who do you think you are when i tell y'all run thing god is like i'm running things y'all better believe me spin the earth on my finger like round ball right so like when the nba players are spinning the ball so god is saying i can spin the earth like that i'm a globetrotter it's easy no lie boy y'all got me messed up no buddha muhammad and dang sure ain't no yeezus at all y'all act y'all all like i ain't made where you standing so you act like you know uh i didn't make where you're standing i didn't drown the whole planet okay the bible says that he drowned the whole planet god okay act like my son ain't die on the cross okay he did or i gave you my all look here i ain't taking no loss i love you with all my heart that's the reason why the reason i'm here with my hands up giving you my grace uh i know that you know i'm here forgive me y'all ignore you if you want but the next time you spit in my face you better adjust undisputed no mistakes or plan b in the end you're all marvel like it's stan lee okay i like that the bible says one day every knee shall bow every tongue will confess don't doubt me but know about me uh it don't look like i'm in the lead but your ignorance don't make you safe right so yeah it's just hey it may not look like god is winning right now but just because you're ignorant of that doesn't make you safe from god's wrath one day because the worst punch is the one you don't see i like that creative this is good till you don't see i ain't done yet watch all the glory my son gets the whole world been set up but you backwards you upset i was the one that put man on this planet but i'm manning the planets and planet by planet i'm planning out history spoiler alert i get the victory over your habitat matter fact matters of fact back to my exact if you like it y'all can tell i didn't i didn't rap i don't have any hip-hop experience okay i'm doing my best if you like it then you should put a ring on it i told saturn that oh that's creative y'all know saturn got a ring on okay i know you're off all right never lost no death no natural disaster no philosophy nothing in the past no demon no disease always and forever undefeated handle it can you handle that man is the world's best management thousands of years of the worst things the earth's curse and it hurts me but i got purposes in the hurts of men if you don't know okay you know what maybe i need to start listening to some christian rap because this song was good and i'mma have to give it a 10 out of 10. now once i've understood what it was talking about i got to give it a 10 out of 10. all right all right y'all we're going to go get a few more in here and then we're going to kind of call it a day here all right uh my teammates say you rapping is hilarious yeah i'm struggling with the raps y'all all right uh let's see uh let's see if there's any other one tamil a man take me to the king uh i don't have much to bring i i i think there's fine with that as i can remember uh i'm good by tripp lee and lecrae all right let's take a look at that one and maybe we'll do a couple more all right i'm good i'm good uh let's see see if we can find more of these triple e here we go featuring lecrae all right i like this little website i can see all the lyrics i need to see all right and here we go okay all right so you all should be able to see that right there okay and all right let's take a look i hear the troubles coming for me death is at my door fear says i'm a parish bro but that ain't what my lord say he said i ain't guilty though i still ain't had my court date i've tasted and i've seen him even though it's just a foretaste i don't know what they feeling i don't know they thinking bro my soul's invincible like mario when he blinking all right well that's true our soul is invincible all right if you're saved you're saved and your soul is gonna be with god they see me full of joy like i don't what he drinking cup is full of living water bro i sip it and thank him yes sir i might not win a grammy or get another stellar but i'll get rewards from my lord and it ain't nothing better i might not chart again i may not sell a milli but i've been purchased by my king he's forever with me so what they talking about no no they can't knock me down okay jesus got me i'm making noise that's why i go gorilla spitting them monkey bars okay partner you know i'm good to go pressure creates diamonds and fire refines gold there's nothing on this planet that's satisfying my soul i'm living forever today is out of control for show i'm good take all my money i'm good i don't know how that song goes here comes the pain i'm good yeah they can kill me i'm good to die is gain i'm good i ain't saying that we don't feel any pain i'm just saying you can't take us out of the game cause homie we good all right y'all don't laugh at me y'all probably laughing at me all right here comes my boy lecrae i done been through the fire i survived all the floods and them writers is with me they all covered in blood uh okay drag my name through the mud they can hate they can gossip so it sounds to me like he's expressing frustration about maybe some things that people have said about him people who have written things about him uh people maybe have created videos about him all right so they've drug his name in the mud and they hate on him they can gossip all right he's basically saying i've been through it all i've been i've experienced all of i've experienced the fire the floods but my passion for jesus they ain't gonna stop and no matter what people try to do to tear me down and to take my name through the mud they're not going to stop my passion for jesus i was dead i guess that made me better than i ever was look at me i'm good partner i'm on my forever buzz if everything i have is taken i can take it they say i'd never make it i know the person who made it my life's hidden in him so when i die again and jesus really be walking with me so how am i lame my life full of pain brother problems and such but i'm focused on forever and eternity's touch while the world try to fight me pharisees try to stone me i'm tebow in the fourth quarter they can't hold me i would have chose somebody other than tim tebow i'm just saying brother been out of football for a long time but i'm just saying yeah the lord is my coach got me off in the zone tell my mama that i'm good when he carried me home i'm good all right know that i'm a suffer that'll only make me tougher death is just a doorway to take me to my faithful lover the lover of my souls with me take my brother okay all right i don't see anything issues with this song i'm gonna give it a 10 even though i struggled to rap through it that doesn't mean the song is not good that just means brother allen needs to get on his game all right so i'm going to give that one a 10. all right let's just see if there's any other ones oh man y'all want me to do ruslan bless god oh man well might as well ruslan we coming for you brother let's let's check you out man all right let's see it naruslaw and i are very good friends i consider him a very very good friend and so uh we're gonna see what what bless god has to say i don't think i've ever heard this song but uh let's see if we can find it uh [Music] ruslan interesting uh bless god okay we're going to go to the other website bless god bless god ruslan ah bless god here we go all right ruslan i hope your song holds up brother all right let's take a look at it uh let me make it a little bit bigger here all right bam so my mama smiled with a silhouette sunshine and all sunshine and all but she don't know i still feel like we ain't made it yet no i ain't lying at all i ain't lying at all i remember walking back from grocery stores and she would carry me sore and now she got bad hips and need to replace i wonder if our walk was okay this is going all over the place uh okay was that a cause of failing health she felt okay so once again i i don't think i need to go through this just because it sounds like he's just really talking about you know his relationship with his mom so that one's not one i think we need to do too much with all right okay let's see if there's any other major ones y'all that like that y'all are like man you got to review this one you got to review this one are there any other ones that that you think are questionable that you're like hey you know what we really we really got to go through this all right um okay all right let's see uh just looking through the comment section trying to see if there's anything freedom is coming by jesus culture all right might as well take a look at maybe two more and then we'll call it a day freedom is coming all right let's check that one out freedom is coming jesus culture uh right there all right let's check it out and see what this one is saying here all right you're singing over me when i don't have a song left to sing you sing you fight my enemies when i don't have the fight left in me you fight for me you make a way when i can't find one you're my freedom's coming whoa freedom is coming whoa i feel it in the air woe freedom's coming whoa my deliverer is here you breathe new life in me death loses power when you speak and you are speaking rewrite my history okay yeah fear of man has lost its hold on me okay uh let's see freedom is coming i can hear it in the distance sounds like thunder songs of deliverance i can feel the heaven breaking through phrases rising we're singing back to you i can hear it in the distance sounds like okay once again i don't see any issues here freedom is coming my deliverer is here freedom is coming all right sure there's not too much depth there so i'm going to give it a 9 out of 10. only because there's just not a lot of theological depth to the song it's just like one of those over and over again songs but there's nothing theologically wrong with it okay uh let's just see if there's any other ones uh raise a hallelujah i can say that that's fine without even looking at it i saw we sung that in church on sunday i know the lyrics to that song that's a good one great song raise a hallelujah no problem there uh okay guys i'm pretty sure that that is everything let me just go to the very very very very bottom of this thread here and see if there's any thing oh oh i got to do this one this is the perfect one to end on so will i 100 billion x yeah i got it i gotta do that one i gotta do that i'm glad somebody asked about that one we gotta do that one all right so let me let me pull that one up and that's a good one to end on uh so will i oh a song that song i can see your heart and everything you've done all right that's a great great well the song is amazing and it's uh okay all right now now let me preface this song before we get to it let me preface this this song that i'm getting ready to to to to review hands down has got to be one of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard in my life it is absolutely brilliant it is genius for someone who's a worshiper like me for someone who who is not just a worshiper but someone who loves um someone who loves um uh creativity and words that are not just the typical norm fluffy songs but words that were thought out this song could not have been any better now i have an issue with one of the lines in it but the lyrics the creativity the passion the way they they they build it up and then at the end they sneak a little verse in there they don't expect and it just it's just unbelievable unbelievably i highly encourage you after you get off this stream go and watch this video the live version unbelievable with that being said let's analyze it okay let's analyze it okay i almost want to sing it right but this they may take it may take me away they might they might uh they might kick me off here if i do uh god of creation they're at the start okay so so you can see i love this before the beginning of time with no point of reference you spoke to the dark and fleshed out the wonder of light god is the god of creation he was there at the start because there was no time so before the beginning of time he was there there's no point of reference you spoke to the dark and fleshed out the wonder of light genesis chapter 1 god said let there be light and and as you speak a hundred billion galaxies are formed or born okay yeah i mean that's exactly right god spoke things into existence he created the heavens and the earth 100 billion galaxies are born in the vapor of your breath the planets form okay if the stars were made to worship so will i oh man this song is powerful man if the stars were made to worship you then you know what so will i i can see your heart in everything you've made every burning star a signal fire of grace if creation sings your praises so will i wow amazing start to this song god of your promise you don't speak in vain no syllable empty or void so god doesn't just speak things that don't come to pass right no every syllable that he speaks has a meaning has a purpose for once you have spoken all nature and science follow the sound of your voice now i know some people take issue with the science piece but quite frankly i think what the songwriter is saying is that everything in nature and everything in science really takes its cue from god right really um follows what god with the whatever god set up in place whatever god set in motion science must obey god nature must obey god so i don't take a problem with that now here's where some people will have an issue as you speak a hundred billion creatures catch your breath okay that's fine because god created animals and insects and who knows how many right that's fine now evolving in pursuit of what you said now that is where if i'm just being honest that word evolving just rubs me a little bit the wrong way and it it you know it it just it kind of hints towards evolution right that that you know these these beings had to evolve into who they were they had to evolve right instead of being created but once again i don't i wouldn't press it you see them so i wouldn't press it that hard because the previous line said a hundred billion creatures catch your breath so that's clearly talking about these create creatures were created right i don't like the word evolving but i'm not gonna throw the whole song out because of one word it's not gonna do it not gonna do it all right if it all reveals you're but i just wish they would have chosen a different song or different word there if it all reveals your nature so will i i can see your heart in everything you say every painted sky a canvas of your grace if creation still obeys you so will i so will i so will i so far absolutely phenomenal song if the stars were made to worship so alive the mountains bow and reverence so will i if the oceans roar your greatness so will i right psalm 19 the heavens are declaring right if the wind goes where you send it so will i right if you can tell the wind go here go there then you should be able to tell me alan go here go there so will i if the rocks cry out in silence then i'm gonna cry out and worship you if the sum of all our praises still fall shy then we'll sing again a hundred billion times whoa this song is getting me excited right here i'm about to listen this after we get off god of salvation not now i want you to notice the project the progression of the song do you see the progression that's what i'm saying most people who don't study lyrics of songs they miss it first he's talking about creation the god of creation okay all right uh and then the god of his word god are your promise now he's going to the god of salvation you chased down my heart through all of my failure and pride when i sing this song part of the song i just it i just it just man he chased me down right on a hill you created the light of the world that's jesus abandoned in darkness to die now this is where this song lays me out when i hear this work it lays me out and as you speak a hundred billion failures disappear whoa i don't know about you but have you ever had do you feel like you've had a hundred billion failures in your life and when god speaks and says you are forgiven a hundred billion failures disappear and when did they disappear when you lost your life so i could find it here if you left the grave behind you so will i right now i'm gonna sing this one and as you speak a hundred billion failures disappear where you lost your life so i could find it here if you left the gray behind you so alive all right it's just so beautiful i can see your heart and everything you've done every part designed in a work of art called love if you gladly chose surrender so will i if jesus surrendered so will i i can see your heart eight billion different ways every precious one a child you died to save if you gave your life to love them so will i and then i love this last one like you would again a hundred billion times but he don't have to because he did it once but what measure could amount to your desire you're the one who lee never leaves the one behind whoo wow uh that that that that one gets me every time y'all that one gets me every time that one gets me every time because i don't know about you but sometimes i feel like i've had 100 billion failures in my life and to know that that as he speaks 100 billion failures disappeared when you lost your life so i could find it here if you left the grave behind you so will i i think that's a perfect song for us to end on right there um i'm uh i'm gonna give that a 9.99 can't give it a 10. i don't like that word evolving but i'm going to give it as close to 10 as i can because the song is absolutely
