all right boys and girls welcome back to another video ugly day in orlando reporting overcast 900 feet uh just after castle with two students today so making no money yes but all is not lost because i need some instrument currency i need to log a hold one or two approach i might just do one approach an ils i actually just did a preflight on the cessna we couldn't go on fly but i thought yeah we've already pre-flighted it so why not go and take that and do a bit of instrument currency it's going to be a quick one but you're coming along for the ride why not let's not waste this don't waste this [Music] orlando executive terrorist disinformation bravo one one five three zulu observation wind zero one zero at one one visibility one zero ceiling niner hundred overcast temperature two three dew point two zero altimeter three zero zero eight ios approach are only seven in use executive grants six seven zero michael for uh information bravo ifr clearance six seven zero mike alpha exec clearance cleared orlando executive has filed maintain thousand five hundred i expect two thousand one zero minutes after departure departure frequency uh one three five point three squawk three four three one click all handle has filed 1500 2010 135.3 while the engine's warming up uh give this a brief ils runway seven one or nine nine that's gonna be setting there zero seven three is the approach cost five thousand uh seven hundred and four feet to runway landing touchdown 109 elevation 113. got the atus information bravo we're gonna have to the 135.3 is going to be on standby ready to go go to ezrack hopefully do the hold at ezrack if they give it to us probably going to be a teardrop entry to ezrak swing it back around to zero seven three turnout down to two five three swing it back in burn and then uh all of that's gonna be at two thousand two thousand denmark six dme which we'll have on the gps and then descend down to the minimums 391 uh 4000 rvr about three quarters of a mile visibility if we don't have it we'll go miss fly the published which is uh zero six six uh straight ahead on the zero six six radio so i'll set that in on number two there it is got yeah 1500 feet m shell 6.5 it's a left turn to 1600 on a heading of zero two zero to zero four nine so we'll switch it we'll go to oviedo and it'll be a hold it over parallel entry welcome to the cockpit boys and girls all right instrument currency time i always like doing instrument currency stuff going up doing i've done quite a bit of like single pilot instrument clear left center right actually you know what shut up all right airspeed zero i chewed it up in a wreck within 75 feet zero turns in the direction goes in the direction ball opposite in the direction ball opposite goes opposite ways and it indicates no one heading is taxi check complete one of my previous let's light up here going over the uh inactive big thing that people miss on an ifr check ride is taxi check so easy to forget strobes offline lights off all right let me do the run off i'll see you holding short the runway once this series gets out of the way then it'll be our turn and we'll get airborne i was thinking that i need a day like this to come up and do some currency i'm sure a whole lot i'm current until the end of july currently mid-may but i want to get it all done so i can have a bit of extra time you know what i mean it's always good to come out and practice i love instrument stuff what i don't love is holding short the runway waiting for this series to get out the way all right pre-take off flaps mixture landing light transponder squawking out your three four three one double check that three four three one very good doors windows close flight instruments set good good good good good good all good number six seven zero mike alpha turn left at a zero five five runway seven and alpha seven cripper check out welcome to the sky zero five five obtained everything's looking good looking good going up to one thousand five hundred feet set six seven zero mine car for contacts learning portuguese departures are my cover all under the departure skyrocket 670 mike and 900 for 1 000 500 0555 670 mike alford departure in our contact one mile north east of the orlando executive airport climb and maintain 2 000 good morning two thousand good morning the base is a little bit higher than uh then they reported they reported 900 feet but with 1200 feet just about going into them nice and smooth up here flaps engine interface initial climb climb checklist done 2 000 feet we're in the cloud guys on the instruments keep moving here we two go feet level off crazy don't trust your body remember zero mike alpha say your request is any chance of uh doing the ils for seven just with the uh hold for like a lap at ezrack for zermatt alpha yeah we can do that november seven mike alpha or zero mike alpha turn left heading three four zero vector towards track to hold on to the localizer for runway seven that'll be followed by an ils approach to runway seven perfect thanks for that three four zero uh because there mike alpha okay what again i learned to approach 119.4 have a great day all right here we go two thousand feet descending to a papa bravo it's not easy man keep the eyes moving keep on moving need it back off the bow there's too much power in there 2000 feet get it tripped make your life easier a little bit choppy in the cloud but come on it's a 2000 thank you weird all right cool so he's vectoring us around to uh to ezrack for the hold so we're gonna get the hole perfect that's exactly what we wanted all right let's cruise six seven zero mike alpha turn uh left heading two seven zero two seven zero today i would dribble any light mixture cool bye-bye i'm gonna chuck my flying eyes on because it's bright in the cloud below the cloud it in remember six seven zero mike alpha contact orlando departure 119.4 194 zero microphone thanks orlando skylock six seven zero mike alpha two seven zero two thousand number six seven zero mike alpha orlando approach roger turn uh ten degrees right ten right here well all right we're stabilized at 2000 feet seems pretty stable up here we're in the cloud now we just popped out of it but we got clouds below us i've got no reference to the ground no reference to a horizon so it's probably best to keep your eyes inside just fighting the body signals man my question is does she know what we want to do because we're pretty far north of ezra at the moment unless make my life easier we'll see everything's stable for now one thing i didn't do on the ground which you may have noticed is i didn't switch from gps to nav if she did give us direct to ezrak i'll have to plug it into the gps and then hit gps number zero mike alpha traffic one in class four and a half miles off eastbound even four thousand for three thousand citations all right we'll be looking where imc's just about popped out just saw him just up there going right well the gps thinks we're entering the hole because we're beam azerach number zero mike alpha turn left in one eight zero one eight zero zero perfect turns towards it cool left turn clear left no idea [Music] that camera is basically facing down all right well we're kind of heading in the right direction uh going towards the course at least we're outside ezrack at the moment situational awareness key paramount of paramount importance in imc temperature-wise we're well above freezing no issue with icing 17 degrees celsius up here one of the main things you want to worry about if you're in imc is are you going to get ice in my opinion it looks like she's going to put us on the course for a direct entry because number 124 that's what he's going to be here which makes my [Music] clearance at one three four five a lot of things happening at once but okay we're basically inbound to ezra at the moment beautiful just maintained localizer this is beautiful up here [Music] so basically we're on the localizer in bound to ezra actually gave me a direct entry well she gave me she vectored me around so it's a direct entry which makes it a lot easier for me rather than doing like a teardrop or something like that so we'll just do a lap in the hole she says expect further clearance at 40 uh 1345 which is basically in just over one hour if we lose comms but i'm going to tell her after we do one lap in the pattern we're ready for the approach we've already set up for the approach [Music] just going to back off the power a little bit no point racing around in the hole the whole point of a hulk is you wanna uh so you gotta buy yourself some time or approach need some time oh look at this it's telling me a direct hold thank you very very much appreciate that it's even going to tell me when i need to turn around to uh to uh turn it around in seven seconds oh here we go there's ezrack now we're going to turn this around to 253 standard rate turn that's our outbound thing and we're established in the hold now it just becomes about maintaining altitude please good grief number four and my includer is gonna maintain two thousand one hundred that is the worst altitude holding two thousand one hundred forty five imaginable my god all right coming around two five three we're gonna level it out we are a beam so we're gonna time it for one minute excellent excellent excellent we go wipe down for a minute uh in training circumstances you would try and time it so the inbound leg is is one minute so we'd see what we need to adjust on the next outbound leg if we were going to continue but i'm going to ask for the approach after this look at this right 073 in eight but i'm gonna go by the minute 44 seconds 45 that's telling me to do it now which is obviously which knows more than i know but i'm going to do it by my time in 55 seconds 56 57 all right we're going to turn it i can't approach here my calf will turn it back in firing third round shoot the approach number six seven zero mike alpha roger two miles from israel crosses direct 2000 cleared ils 497 approach across air's rack two thirds include the ios 7 approach here mac alpha we've been cleared for the approach but it's 2 000 now 2000 until uh denmark and then it's 3.91 so we're gonna go mixture rich we're gonna go landing light on we've got all that done this is on board flashes required just double check it just before we get there for you make sure your landing light fuels those flights approach slightly left of course 0.2 from the yeah so the gps was right the time it was off uh by a solid looks like about 20 seconds or so we'd have to reduce the outbound because of the ground speed makes sense okay cool so we're in behind we'll pass this rack 2000 until denmark denmark's the uh final approach fix with glideslope intercept i'm doing this i'm chasing i need to just relax take a step back for a second just hold something see what it does glorious all right pre-landing checklist is all done we've got tower on standby we've already briefed it we're just going to wait till one dot above power back one notch of flaps hit the glide slope descent down 391 we'll look up when we've got the six seven zero mike alpha contact exactly one one eight point seven have a good day eighteen seven thanks for all the help alpha detective uh skyhawk six seven zero mike alpha on the ils seven six seven orlando executive tower continue for runway seven continues all right we're back on the course ah this has been a success don't speak too soon we've still gotta fly the ils a hold was a success i feel like the holds are the most difficult thing to to do in the currency because you you rarely rarely get one or at least in my experience you rarely get one in the real world so unless you come up and request it like this this has been perfect for 3.5 miles from denmark i'm going to speed it up a little bit all right we're coming up to denmark coming up to final approach fix start backing it off 2 000 feet ten degrees of clamps the correct night a little bit first glide sloping itself uh weight descent 9200 knots but 18 to 1900 rpm get it stabilized maintain localizer maintain glide slopes still holding slightly right of course about 500 foot per minute descent does the job seems like this heading is kind of holding me so i'm going to try and hold this 9200 knots on quite slope a localizer i let my i let my uh i let my guard down there and let myself go off to the left a little bit i bring it back right keep those eyes shifting i keep stopping my eyes and that's my issue i need 200 knots got it where we want it still in the cloud 1500 feet 391 is the minimum 9200 knots on glide on localizer still descending got a little bit of ground contact in my peripherals not looking still looking at my instruments still looking and by the way because we hit the final approach fix uh in imc we were able to lock the approach uh right on the cusp of 100 knots i'm going to back it off just a little bit don't chase slightly to the right but set something and let it come to you don't chase it 1200 for 391 got ground contact don't look keep your eyes shifting don't chase [Music] getting turbulent 9200 knots on chase and runway's in sight at a thousand feet alpha base is about 1100 number zero mike apple roger thank you runway seventh clear to land one zero four zero one three okay i cleared a land runway seven feels so much better when you get visual contact but that was cool and now that i got visual i go off the approach imagine that all right cool so we're going inside we're just doing normal landing there we go that was cool not to minimize but got some good practice out of that all right full flaps ugly day in orlando ugly day zero four zero but all right 65 still going to be high in this thing a lot of the rudder in there all right i'm going power i don't know this thing is susceptible to the floor just like that all right welcome back to orlando boys and girls that was fun that was that was a lot of fun a little bit longer than i thought it was going to be but to come up and remain current but of course it's also remaining proficient as well i i didn't need to do this i've still got like two months of currency left and i want to be proactive be proactive but anyway if you enjoyed this single pilot ifr video please leave a like subscribe to ludex aviation if you haven't already i'll see you on the next one thanks for joining me see you later [Music] [Music] foreign
