my heart and she's part of the family amen and i tell you if you just need a few moments of joy a few moments of laughter a few moments to just feel the joy of the lord that is your strength i encourage you to tune in tonight to this edition of a time of intercession i believe christians ought to have joy and we thank god for our beloved sister tonight i would like to introduce to those of you that may not know for the first time this is my natural sister and her name is evangelist cheryl ray hello shelley i am great and i am glad you're here with me tonight praise the lord cheryl we're just happy that god is blessing the ministry and things are going well and yes the lord has been so faithful to us down through the years and i want to begin tonight cheryl by asking you how are you doing [Laughter] praise the lord the lord has been so good to you and he's been so faithful listen tell us what is on your heart tonight um how how the lord has just been dealing with you in these last couple of days cheryl well pastor kim i think that tonight um for in the last few days the lord has been dealing with me about encouraging pastors wow and um that i am asking that the the lord would bless the pastors to get their voices back their that strength in their voice there's so many different voices in the earth right now you know and you you're i think that the the movements of the apostles and the prophets yes everybody has a part in the kingdom sure sure but there is an important factor in the gift and the office of a pastor okay and um i think that you know they're they're seeing about people they have members in their flocks passing away there's so many different things that they're facing absolutely and so i just think my heart has been with pastors these last few days well cheryl what is it that you would like to say to the pastors what what message would you like to give maybe to pastors that have been in ministry for many years and they may be watching right now what message would you like to give to them just to just to brighten their day and give joy to the pastors if i could speak to pastors i think if they would if i would have a one-on-one moment with them yes of course um my my first words to them would be encouraged wow okay and um a lot of times you know there's being a pastor whether you've got 10 members or 30 000 members yeah there's one thing that every pastor must do and that's hear from god amen and so my prayer and my words of encouragement would be to seek god yes and um allow the spirit of clarity and precision to be their god and to allow the the holy ghost to refresh them amen you know remember the night the afternoon the evening that god actually called you now some people say that they got a call i'm not going there tonight period okay but um i believe that god calls them by their names oh yes or he calls them son of man or woman or my daughter he said something to them to get their attention yes and then he gives them an assignment and when he gives them an assignment i remember when mama said the lord called her he instructed her to feed his sheep that's right and so whatever the lord if it's teaching in faith if it's being filled with the holy ghost if you've got the gift of teaching right right then remember what god told you to do yeah because in this world of chaotic times it's easy to kind of well i need to do this because that's what's going on and right you need to go back to what god called you to do it may be a different avenue now sure of reaching or you know doing what it was but just remember the initial call wow and remember the joy that you had when god called you amen a lot of times they said no the first couple of times those are the ones i want to talk to because those are the ones that you know wrestled with it you know yeah nine times out of ten most men and women of god that say god called them their first initial you know reaction is no no no no but the night that they told god yes all right the moment that the holy ghost began to move and burn in the circumference of their beings right right and then they began to get instructions from god all right and they began to receive fresh manna fresh uh power from on high yes and uh i i think that that's what the pastors need you know because they've got a lot of different kind of sheep they they deal with the sheeps the wolves and the ghosts and the goats and the goats and so we've got to be an encouragement right to them well cheryl you know our history in being a part of the church goes back for over 40 years we've been a part of the church and we've been blessed we've been blessed by so many different leaders and different pastors but cheryl i want to ask you as we reflect on pastors and different individual pastors what did you learn specifically from one or the other like i'll use for an example for a season we went to uh l t hutton's church because our family had moved and because of the location of convenience but cheryl what did you learn from pastor hutton i learned from pastor hutton faithfulness yes and i learned that you did not have to be afraid of the enemy all right um that we have power over the devil yes lord and um he was one that taught us ministry right you know we would leave one church learning what we you know being taught and then we would go to another church and activate what we had learned right right you know so we would go to lockport yes you know and often times we would we had an opportunity to pray with others and different things like that yes so that was what i learned from l.t hut awesome well i want to know what major thing or uh what was it about apostle richard d hinton's ministry that that really struck you what was it about apostle hinton i think about apostle hinton it was evangelism yes um he he actually i believe he was the first pastor that actually took us on a evangelical trip i believe we went to saint louis yes and then i remember us um when mom when the lord told her jimmy carter would be president right and after he won we went to washington yes um but i remember going to this church and i believe the name of the church was refreshing springs church and i remember hearing myrna's son ernest summers sing this song about oh they tell me of a home and i remember an uncloudy day and i remember the lord uh pastor hinton preached so that night oh my god until every young person in that room at the end of the night we were dancing and shouting and speaking in tongues so yes it was the event evangelist what i know that we were blessed to have such a powerful mom dr angie ray yes but can you just kind of pinpoint one major thing that you because we're talking tonight about what we've learned from pastors how they've enhanced and influenced our lives what one major message did dr ray have that you could share with our audience tonight um i think the major the most uh precious message to me mom had taught me how to do the work of the church she was teaching me yes and um i remember i could sign mama's name just like [Laughter] administrator hallelujah [Music] yes thank you um i remember one evening we were going over some papers and we were she was getting ready to do a conference yes and um she told me she we were reading scriptures together and she looked at me and she says cheryl yeah and i said ma'am she says i trust you oh my god and when she told me that tears welled up in my eyes because um for her to say she trusted me with the work of the lord she trusted me with the paperwork she trusted me to make decisions she trusted me and when she said that to me i did everything in my power to make sure that i would make her proud and happy that she had an oldest daughter that she could put her trust in oh that is so and that's the major thing that mama did that touched my the the very core of my heart was the night she told me she trusted me praise god well cheryl we we've had so many incredible experiences in our journey and our walk with christ and i just want to ask you cheryl can you give us something that i i know we talk about our mother's influence often and we speak about our pastors but what did our father how did our father daddy how did he influence what major message did you receive from him that helped you in your walk with christ daddy taught me how to um not judge people yes but he taught me how to quickly know a person to discern to discern a prayer to discern a person but yeah yeah we're going to use the word desire tonight yes but he taught me how to um watch he taught me how to um to be aware of what goes on around me wow he taught me how to love people yes and he also one of the greatest gifts and lessons daddy taught me was to stick together with my family that's right and he thought and if you would know our cousins all our generation yes um we're all very close but every one of us got that same teaching was to stick together daddy said we would have different lives we would follow different pursuits but he wanted us to stick together and i think that's the major lesson yeah that he taught me daddy taught us how to love people yes he did he did and you know cheryl i i so appreciate having you know the ability to reflect back and just consider the things that we've learned in our journey on different areas different pastors different leaders and god has honored us and blessed us to just to sit and to glean the word of god from various pastors you know even before we went on the air you mentioned the pastor that really touched your life in a very profound way and it is in the in the person of apostle dr ivy hillier oh yes yes and just a season of preparation even before our mother passed away can you elaborate just a little bit and share with our audience what did you learn from dr hilliard that helped all of us really during that season um that season i believe it was very it was late october right and um i found out that dr ivy hilliard what's going on dr bridget would come into town and i'm like oh i'm going to give me a hot face message tonight i'm gonna hear about lifting my faith yes and what and when we got there you know they were talking they were in um praise and worship and dr mr holmes church pastor holmes yes beauty and dr hillier got up and he started talking but he started ministering about um when his mother passed away right right and so i you know i was like all right pastor hillary what we got tonight and he talked about how his faith had to um in in his message he said you've got to learn how to take your emotions out of business yes he did and he said you got to learn how to handle business under stress right and handle business you have to talk to the holy spirit and let the holy ghost lead and guide you even when you're hurting right and he talked about going to the funeral home he talked about going to the cemetery he did he talked about all of that and so when i got ready to go i was like oh well i've got faith we can you know but i did not know that a month and maybe a week later jesus we would have to bury our own mother jesus and everything every word everything he said dr hilliard spoke that night yes came back to my spirit but i had to repent wow you know why why because i sat there in judgment in the back of that church saying he need to be preaching about faith faith and telling me what i can do so i can become a holy millionaire you know quicker than i was or something wow not knowing that the spirit of god was using him to prepare because i'm sure i'm not i wasn't the only person in that room right that had to deal with that that's right they could have lost a relationship or lost a job it was it was just dealing with grief and learning how and i don't even think i ever thank you dr hillary yes you've watched thanks telecast thank you very much yeah i appreciate it yes for his obedience and then it let me know that we as sheep need to keep our mouths off our pastor this is right because a lot of times god can be speaking to them and god is speaking to them yeah but because we have in our sheepish sheepish minds yes how we think church ought to be going how we think this ought to be handled yeah and a lot of times when the lord gives the pastor something you know now you've got some that she that the pastor will empower yes to get things done but in in in a lot of cases it's like the people need to walk in oneness right and they're walking in unity and when i say that i was taught by pastor arthur guys he said a lot of times we could have a like take a usher board if an usher board is walking if the leader says let's wear black and white somebody will say we got to wear them black suits again right right somebody says i'm tired of them white blouses right they go on and put it on because that's what the leader has asked but they have gone through a whole lot of foolishness but if they're walking in oneness yes when the leader says put on black and white they got that black and white on standing at the door to serve that's right and so that's what i think that we you know i i think that we need to bless the pastors yes and and you know pastors all over america be encouraged young all the senior pastors yeah our younger pastors that are coming up get wisdom and understand that god himself is moving by his power yes and you know cheryl i think that it is so important that as we walk in our christian walk that we learn how to pay attention to what it is that we're learning from the various voices that god establishes in our lives i remember for a season of apostle john eckhart was a um you know of course he still is yes a vital part of our lives as it relates to the spirit of or the ministry of deliverance yes and we have had for the last 39 years a prayer conference of course that we've all had to pause because of the covet yes but over the years god has given our ministry a specific assignment and that is in the area of prayer of deliverance of intercession and i want to thank god for your role as an administrator and how god has utilized you to assist even with the various departments of the church i believe it's time for us to uh we know the bible says iron sharpeneth iron but i also believe that we should give honor to whom honor is due and i want to honor you cheryl for your contribution to ministry and your dedication your commitment and your love and mom was right when she said she could trust you yes because you have proven faithful in fact i'll say it like this you've been the personification of faithfulness to the house of god as it relates to administration and ministry and i want to just praise god and thank god for that and again we've been just talking about our uh individuals that have influenced our lives i remember another pastor we had for a season pastor hiram crawford and pastor crawford was such a soul winner what did you learn cheryl some vital uh part of his ministry what was it that stood out to you about pastor crawford dr crawford taught us how to be fearless in soul winning yes he did he taught us how to stand the test of time not to give up on the soul not to give up on people that were deemed um unsavable right he taught us how to minister to the drug addict and he taught us how to minister to those who just needed to be saved right so we learned i would say the art of salvation we learned how to minister without salvation without fear yes they had us in picket lines had us marching in the city of chicago and we witnessed everywhere we went and you know i think about um another aspect and i i often talk about our pastor dr angie ray because she was such an incredible influence in all of our lives yes but dr ray would take us to street meetings and we would minister to the drug addicts to the prostitutes to whoever it didn't matter people that were bound by addiction do you remember mama used to make us get on the cta bus and we would have to we would for those that live in chicago we would ride from over on 79th and marquette which is in south shore it's way east and she we would ride all the way to the end of the line on 79th street yeah and she would make us sing and witness and witness and pray on those buses we had musicians that would make music on their laps she would make us sing walk and talk with jesus and yeah she would make us sing different songs and then the spirit of god uh would fall upon her and she would just begin to minister to people on the bus yes she was but i'll tell you one of the things that that encouraged her how much more time we get yes yes we've got uh we've got um she said that she was riding on the bus one day remember and she sat next to a gentleman and tears began to roll down her face yeah and she began the the the gentleman asked her ma'am what's wrong and she began to tell that man about how we had an unjust landlord and that landlord would come in the house and when her husband would leave he would just doing all manner of evil things that was getting ready to put her family out on the street that's right and she was on her way to court now i know for a fact that god will be a lawyer in the court yes we do because when she walked into the courtroom yes the judge was sitting on the bench was the man that she was riding with on the bus on the bus that's right and she kind of you know she had to keep her composure oh but that judge let that landlord have it oh he let him go god yes and that's why i want to tell the people of god be kind yes in these next few days be compassionate you don't know who you're sitting next to yeah you're walking by you you know you're driving by yeah and and just to be kindly affectionate that's right through here that's right it's needed greatly yes needed you know cheryl not only has god used pastors but he's also used civic leaders yes to bless our lives i think about uh dr jesse jackson and this is jacqueline jackson and how that they've just embraced us with the love of god yes i just think about and i want to just tonight as we're talking about pastors and leaders and individuals that have been an influence in our lives yes our goal tonight on this a time of intercession is specifically to encourage of course pastors and leaders and those that are working tirelessly in the body of christ and i just want to say to those of you that are watching maybe you have been wrestling with a spirit of discouragement maybe you've been wrestling and just feeling like lord what's the use is it all in vain well i'll say to you like our friends and our beloved sisters the clark sisters no of course not it's not all in vain and listen keep praying keep seeking god keep living for the lord and he will bless your life and so in our final moments again we want to let everyone know that we do have prayer counselors if you need intercession right now and you need prayer maybe you have uh found yourself in a place where you just feel like lord i just need a touch from god i need to hear his voice won't you dial that number 708 503 1140 to receive prayer and i'm going to give the final moments of our time our telecast a time of intercession to our sister cheryl to just say a quick prayer for those that are watching today for pastors for leaders for evangelists whoever is watching at this time i want you cheryl to look into that camera and to just say a prayer for those that are watching and again if you need prayer you can call in 708 503 11 40 at this moment and our intercessors will be happy to pray with you come on cheryl pastor kim just before we pray of course take one moment to thank god for our singers and psalmists yes our choir members amen the lord has blessed us to be uh touched by some great women men and women of god yeah down through the years i quickly think of people like queenie lenox yes and i think about uh the the allen twins and i i think about the different churches the true holiness church of god in christ oh yes rick that quiet that radio quiet yes and i think about the sopranos from um pastor william willie james campbell's church oh the quieter the choir was magnificent but those sopranos were something else yes bishop hezekiah walker yes i was just getting ready to say oh forgive me i'm sorry bishop hezekiah i call him well bishop thank the lord i want to thank him for the music i mean there's i listen to one of his songs at least every day yes and i wanna i thank god for him and so many others but there's one lady in chicago okay um that i would like to just say god bless to of course i believe her name is sister darlene but back in the day there was a song that i would listen to religiously okay and the words of that song were simply if you just allow me one more time yes just to tell you jesus yes is a friend of mine oh yes and she would go on to say each day i press my way so that i won't go astray the lord will guide me every step of the way yes and the choir would say i love jesus hallelujah more today yes than i did on yesterday and i remember you used to lead this song oh yeah and my god i remember you saying that he's a friend above all others hallelujah and he sticks closer than any brother yes i love jesus yes more today i could hear evangelist francis hamilton hollering right now yes um but there was a really point that was yes larry was it was the trinity all nations quiet that's right and um there was one more piece of that song that said he's the lily of the valley yes come on now he's the bright and morning star yes i love jesus and so if you would just take these next couple of moments if you would lift your hands wherever you are and just tell jesus thank you how much you love him and why you love him it could be because he saved you yes because he brought you out of a tough place because he's just been kind and i want to say to pastors tonight god loves you yes and remember your call remember your charge in the name of the lord jesus father i thank you for every person that has listened to these moments of intercession and i asked god tonight that you would rekindle and let the fire of the holy ghost begin to fall on them right now god let them remember the moment that you touched them the moment that you drew them to yourself the moment that you saved them dear god and father we give your name glory we give your name honor we thank you for those that have paved the way for us we thank you lord tonight in the name of the lord jesus christ we give your name glory yes amen amen and thank god hallelujah we'll yes the number to call 708 503 11 40. and for those of you that like to write a r m and that is p.o
