[Music] so why hello there today's video is going to be a bit different than the other videos i usually make on this channel because today they're going to be taking a look at an album called everywhere at the end of time released across four years from 2016 to 2019 everywhere at the end of time is made up of six stages all focusing around the deterioration of the brain with age known as dementia now i'll just say it right now don't expect any anthony fantano type of review for me today i'll just be giving you my opinion on each stage of the album so without further to do let's get into it so we start this journey with stage one and to be honest stage one is actually quite relaxing stage one is defined as a recollection of the glory days the last of the great days and the album are for this stage looks like a roll of paper towels but just slightly distorted it's just a collection of songs you would hear from like the 40s or 50s however while listening i felt an uneasiness grow on me i'm not sure if it's because old music has become inherently scary even being used in some horror movies to portray horror but the songs during this stage have this foreboding atmosphere to them like something is wrong and the song titles sure don't help in this regard with examples like it's just the burning memory and we don't have that many days but other than that it's actually quite pleasant to listen to and is the only stage out of the six that i would actually be comfortable enough to listen to again two is defined as the self-realization and awareness that something is wrong with a refusal to accept that the distortion during this part grows stronger with static and more overall noise in the background and it's honestly quite sad to listen to the album are for this stage looks like a flower pot but if you look at the handles you can actually see what looks like two people dancing the music during this part has the same joy that stage one songs have however you can notice that there's this sadness behind these songs and they sometimes overpower the songs entirely notable song titles would include surrendering to despair i still feel as though i am me and the way ahead feels lonely overall this stage is quite depressing to listen to as we can see the patient try to deny the condition he's in and not knowing what lies ahead for him [Music] stage three is defined as the last moments before full confusion rolls in and honestly i can't even tell what the album art is supposed to be at this point my best guess is that it's a plant maybe with all the green but i genuinely can't tell the music during this part becomes uncomfortable to listen to as the distortion that we can hear in the previous stages seems to take center stage over the music with songs like e7 sounding like something you would hear in a nightmare [Music] notable song titles include and heartbreaks sublime beyond loss and burning despair does ache this stage genuinely hurts to listen to as we can see the patient trying so desperately to fight back but in the end it's useless as we hit stage four let me be completely honest with you guys i broke down at stage four not because the songs were sad or anything well it's not like they helped but it was more because of what the song was trying to imply stage four is defined as a time where serenity and the ability to recall singular memories gives way to confusion and horror the albemarle for this stage seems that of a woman but there's something off about her you can tell that it's someone but you can't recall who the music if you can even call it that at this point is just a collection of sounds and distortions with no music to even recognize there are points where you can maybe hear a song in the background if you listen hard enough but it's quickly silenced by the ever-growing static except for there being these four to seven minutes songs like they have been instead they've been stretched over 30 to 45 minutes of just noise this is honestly the hardest stage to get through because the first time i listened to it i just cried the idea of losing your memories is such a heartbreaking one that i just broke down with the music sounding like a cry for help but to no avail as we hit stage five stage five is defined as the time where the unfamiliar may sound and feel familiar the album art appears to be a man with a cane but i can't really tell at this point there was no resemblance of music that can be seen at all except for the times of bliss where music comes back for a brief moment only to be enveloped in the same static and distortion that we've come accustomed to while listening to this music i thought to myself what the other tracks sounded like before but i just couldn't remember them and that honestly scared me the stage is the last cry of hope from the patient before all memories have been lost and it's devastating to listen to well we finally made it stage six is the last stage in the album and it's something stage six is defined as nothing the only thing that is said about it is post awareness stage six is without description at this point all noise is gone from the stage with only a constant hum in the background the patient has reached their final destination losing all hope of ever regaining their memories the album art supports this by showing us the backside of a canvas showing that a once vibrant mind has become unobtainable at this point and of course there is the final five minutes of the album which is the most haunting part r1 stage six place in the world fades away after listening to pure noise for almost four hours i somewhat became accustomed to hearing it and that's why it hit me extra hard when in the last five minutes of the seven hour long album without warning it suddenly cuts out you are left with only your thoughts as the only thing you can hear is a crippling silence until a song plays and that's when it hits you after a long and arduous battle the patient is finally free from the pain they had to endure for so long and they are given the peace that they truly deserve as their place in the world fades away okay i might have stolen that outro but come on man it was too good to not use honestly this album is the most haunting piece of media i have ever consumed and it sort of traumatized me i won't say that this album changed my life per se but i will say that it did get me thinking about the future a bit more so if you're interested in knowing more about this album there's a couple of videos that did a much better job at explaining it than me well that's about it for today so i hope you enjoyed watching this video and i'll see you in the next one take care jesus christ
