developers leave us puzzles things to find in games that we aren't necessarily immediately supposed to hi folks it's falcon and today on game ranks seven gaming mysteries still unsolved starting off at number seven the final secret in the witness now this is one of the most mysterious entries on the list basically because it's pure fan speculation like it is way way way way in the assumption territory and people assume because braid had a really secret hidden ending that jonathan blows next game the witness must also it's just really really really hidden now there's a few things in the game that actually do possibly hint to a final puzzler secret one of the hardest puzzles in the weakness unlocks a lecture called the secret of psalm 46 which is about all easter eggs in literature and video games not content with the fact the final quote-unquote easter egg is a video about easter eggs many assume this 58-minute long lecture was actually hiding clues to the whereabouts of the real final easter egg of course probably the biggest tease is the total number of puzzles in the game is 665 just one off from you know the number of the beast there's a lot of elements in the game that people believe tie into this final mythical puzzles there's four panels in the mountain area that people believe is connected to a passage from the lecture people think these vases and the glass factory involve some kind of secret code others suggest this windmill is some kind of lock which was actually debunked by jonathan blow himself so i mean could it all be nothing sure but he has hidden some pretty wild stuff in his games before so who really knows and number six is the printer secret from inside now near the end of the game you pass by a printer in the background it doesn't seem like it's printing anything special but if you stand in front of it for about 10 or so seconds it'll start printing pages with weird symbols on them for whatever reason every platform the game has appeared on ps4 pc xbox one ios and switch has had different symbols the playstation 4 one had weird text art of an acorn the xbox had braille that translated into letters and it just it got weirder from there to go along with all of this a printer button was added to the developer's website so clearly there's something there the decoded messages are obviously meant to be used in some way using the codes from the in-game printer did lead to special printouts when you use them on the developer's website which had spectrogram images embedded in the printouts it's not solved yet though people are still going you could say they're still inside the work at number five the supposed mega man 9 secret it's a secret that might be hidden somewhere in endless mode this game has been emulated and data mined and nothing has been found people have looked so hard to the community manager at the time seth killian always rebuked anyone trying to find the secret by telling them that's not it like but the thing is it's possible he's just lying the whole time both him and capcom seem intent on implying that there is a secret left to be found in the game it's possible that the secret uses no new assets but why no one was able to find it through data mining is still really confusing even if that's the case folks pretty much did everything possible to find this secret all the way up to going through 9999 screens in endless mode and they just have not found anything so it might just be a big practical joke by capcom and if it is just a lie the question people need to ask is why did they do that was it for the likes was it for the engagement capcom at number four is the truck near the ss and in pokemon red and blue it is the only truck in the entire game and you know what i can remember people talking about this a while ago there were tons of rumors about the 151st pokemon mew being hidden under it you just had to use strength to move it this has all been proven totally false of course that stuff that people used to talk about really is not the case but a lot of questions still remain about why that truck is even there at all i think it's safe to say it's just a piece of background scenery but why is it the only truck in the game most people assume cars just didn't exist in this universe but no there's one none of the developers not even a single one has come out and commented on this so fans are left to speculate about this innocuous sprite at number three is track 47 on the mortal kombat 3 cd rom yeah remember that maybe you do maybe you don't i don't know it's a bizarre one though that as of now is pretty much completely ignored by the world at large i'd say for obvious reasons too hidden in the cd version of mortal kombat 3 for the pc there is an easter egg hidden on track 47. instead of background music like tracks 2 through 46 this one had a person speaking backwards reddit user sfsdfd reversed the audio to find out that it's someone reading a lewis carol poem called tis the voice of the lobster who is it why is it here and what is the connection to mortal kombat 3. back when disc based games were kind of a novelty developers like to hide things in alternate tracks on certain games remember like the weird a la card audio from symphony of the night it was you know stuff like that but this is one of the weirdest instances of it at number two what is the g-man's deal in the half-life series half-life came out in 1998 which wow 1998. half-life 2 came out in 2004 and half-life alex came out in 2020 this year specifically you know that already though don't you we are still no closer to understanding what on earth the g-man is and does it's an odd one because it's not really a secret or hidden at all the g-man is a huge part of the half-life story he shows up all the time he talks you know in his special way but it's been more than 20 years and we still barely know anything about who he is or what his goals are he's just weird a quick refresher he appears mysteriously throughout half-life one in various locations seemingly watching your progress and at the end he offers you a choice to either work for him or die in half-life 2 you seemingly work for him you overthrow bad guys that seem to benefit him somehow or at least make him happy which i mean i'm not going to bother trying to just glean motives from that that's i mean enough for me right now during the events of half-life 2 episode 1 and 2 it seems like you're kind of working against him like he's kind of angry at you in some scenes at least but you don't really get any specific context in half-life alex you find out the g-man was captured by the combine five years before the events of half-life 2 and then changes the ending of episode 2 to seemingly capture alex or something and alex's dad eli is alive now as well i don't really know it certainly hasn't gotten less confusing it's actually become more confusing with each new game but that's also kind of the fun of a multimedia series that you can never really tell if they even intend on finishing and finally at number one the mysterious wd gaster from undertale the creator of undertale toby fox loves sneaking in little secrets into the game probably the biggest is wd gaster a mysterious figure who only can be interacted with by messing with the game files every time you start a new game the file is assigned a fun value at random this number can affect how certain things play out in the game or make rare events happen more often stuff like that changing the fun value to a specific number can make certain things happen in the game like make the gaster follower 1 and 2 show up at a few specific locations these guys give some cryptic backstory about a guy named dr wd gaster a character that never actually appears in the game under normal circumstances if you set the game's fun value to 66 it makes it so a great door will rarely appear in the waterfall area if you go through it there is a weird sprite interacting with it just makes it disappear there is another hidden room called room underscore gaster that displays wingdings you know the utterly useless font that it's kind of like a precursor to emojis i guess but nobody used it that way and if you translate it you get messages like the shadows cutting deeper and photon readings negative people speculate that wd gaster is related to sans because well i mean there's a lot of reasons but primarily they're both skeletons and they both have fonts as names w d gaster means wingdings and aster if you name your character gaster in the opening of the game the game just totally crashes it doesn't even bother it's like nah you're not doing that like is this all set up for the undertale sequel deltarune or is there more going on within undertale itself right now actually nobody knows it's a pretty deep mystery at this point and that's all for now i mean we covered a lot here we previously covered stuff like the chiliad mystery and that i would recommend going back to the other gaming mysteries that are still unsolved video it's pretty good as well as far as this video what did you think which
