i've got something really exciting to bring you guys today this is the brand new princess y72 and this is a bit of an exclusive because we're the very first people to be allowed on this boat outside of the factory so it's totally exclusive for alcoholic and i'm very pleased to bring it to you because it's a fascinating boat it's a very beautiful looking thing you'll notice things like the new window line they've put down here the way it sweeps right to the back and also the gray accents around in areas like this and of course up on the flybridge as well it's a very very elegant machine and and they've done a lovely job with it so i'm going to take you on board and we're going to do the full tour of course so into every area the cabins the deck spaces the crew area the engine room the lazarette the lot let's go and have a look i'm going to step on the back on this bathing platform it's a high low platform with lift up to 550 kilograms apparently you can get a pretty decent tender on there there's a couple other things to mention just while we're here before we go on board one thing they've done which is quite neat it's a small thing but it's useful is where it lowers is here and normally this is quite a narrow walkway that it leaves they've actually increased that so when the bathing platform is down it's much easier to move around the boat there's a nice little seat here and this is interesting this is the locker that goes back underneath the seats and uh normally you have to take the cushions off and go down into it with this you can get directly from the back and in fact that's big enough to get a couple of sea bulbs in which is an excellent idea anyway let's head up on board there's an extending pass rail that comes out of here and this is where the shore power plugs in so that's giving you 240 volts there's two plugs for that as you can see and then we head on board here some lovely work on the teak on this boat it does look really good see the way they've faced all these steps as they come down for example and then we have the seating area at the back and again some lovely touches like the way they've done this twin tone headlining around here this used to be just plain grp up here but now they've made this a real feature the stain is still trimming there as well and the speakers are in there and the lights that looks really good you've got seating of course around the back and this table will unfold so if you're dining here you've got a much bigger area and a couple of other things to mention before we go inside over here this is a docking station so if your stern 2 birthing you can stand at the back here control the engines control the thrusters and guide the boat in and then when you're in you see it's got powered winches so that you can put lines to the dock around there and then winch in nice and tight the other thing i'm going to show you down here this is like a sort of safety locker so it has all electric bilge pumps of course automatic but there is a manual backup and you can see how you can configure where you want that to pump from so that handle comes out and pumps in there it has automatic fire extinguishing systems in the engine room and lazarette but you've got manual pulls here and you've got stops for all the diesel supply for both engines and both generators obviously we'll go and look at those in a little while but anyway let's head on inside she's an aft galley layout as you can see and we've got this big lift window so it really connects beautifully right the way through and then this is the interior now there's a new wood finish in here which i haven't seen before i princess this is silver oak you can have a normal oak and you can also have walnut so the normal finishes are still available and you can have high gloss or satin this is a satin finish but this looks very modern and very contemporary we'll head over to this side first of all there's a small step down the reason they've done that is to create room for a full height fridge freezer so you've got really good size in here and the freezer then is down underneath and then of course there's storage all around a load of storage in this boat actually i'll show you as we go around that's actually the ice maker having said it's storage um but as you can see in places like this for your cutlery for example these are all soft clothes as well that's the bin in that one and the other thing you have in here of course is the cooking it's miele cooking so you've got the hob and the oven underneath up in here again more storage there's an extractor fan underneath there as well sink is over here and there's a dishwasher as well mila again so that's in there now another thing i've noticed with this boat it replaces the f-70 but unlike that boat there's no step on that when you came through here then stepped up to the saloon and forward which is fine but this is all one level which is even nicer because you just stroll through having to sort of step up and down talking and storage again this is for your plates down in here so they're right next to the dishwasher which is excellent and you've also got bar area here as well so this is for your glasses in places like this and then behind that that's for bottles in there and there's even a little area for things like your court screws and so on and then next to this is the dining area so you've got a lovely seating area around here it's great because your view is back out across the cockpit great place to eat big table it's folded at the moment but this unfolds and you can see there's stalls to go around on the other side of it so that makes for a great dining area right opposite the galley now as we head forward this is the saloon area i like this little bar area they put in here i think that's a great place to sit and have a coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening and then this is a really lovely social area around here look at these big windows the way they drop all the way down and i mentioned this is a y series not an f series and that means it just upgraded slightly with things like this beautiful wooden trim that they put in places like this it's just lifted slightly over the f-series range still a lovely boat the f series but this is the next league up again over here we've got big storage area there and then on this side the wine cooler and the other thing we've got here is the television that's in there and in fact there's a little button for it so if we give that a prod there we go that's a 55 inch tv you've got the speakers up in the ceiling and so of an evening if you want to take yourself away and put a movie on that's a really great place to do it let's head on forward again another thing that's quite interesting is it has the name hi-fi system which a lot of the princesses have got now but they've made a bit of a feature of this one rather than tucking it away because these are actually quite attractive little units if you can see that one there and very tactile as well the volume control up on the top there's just one of those things it's just nice to reach out and touch obviously is remote control for that but that's there so you can see it and interact with it and then underneath that you've got some more of the av equipment down underneath there the helmet is over on this side another new feature of this boat is these new helm seats they've done a really nice job with these with this beautiful wood in the back of them and there's more than a hint of the aston martin i think about these or maybe bentley the way they've done these headrests and this diamond stitching i think they look superb and the helm itself then that is up here so it's got the screens across here two ray marine screens and again it's a feature on the y series boats to have the bonning system that's this one here it's displaying engine instrumentation a minute but if i hit the home button this gives access to all the systems on the boat so navigation lights for example are here you can go into fuel systems so your state of fuel what else have we got power is on here so dc power ac power so where it's being drawn from and how much and another interesting one is the water system because we hit that one you can see that it's got backup pumps for the black water and the grey water so you've got the main pump and then a backup so you never have a problem if you had a issue with a pump you can just switch across and the last thing to show you on here is the lighting system comfort lighting is that one and this allows you to go into pre-programmed settings so optimum just puts everything on full you can go into a harbor mode you can go to an evening mode which dims things down you can have a boarding mode which lights up all the exterior lighting you can switch everything off from here so you don't have to run around the boat turning everything on and off you can control it all from there obviously there are switches around the boat as well this one's got the sea keeper on it so it's got a gyro stabilizer that's controlled from that and then this is the more ring-ring instrumentation auto pilot bow and stern thruster on here as well and this one has the side door so you can go straight from the helm to the outside of the boat very nicely done that looks really smart and on the other side then i really like this area because you've got a couple of steps up and that means that when you're cruising down the coast people can sit up here and if we take a seat you can see we've actually got a really great view out of the front we're the same height as the helm so we can chat we can see out and what i do like as well it's little tiny features about the place but look at this it created this so if you want to you can sit here and put a laptop on here or you can maybe just sit and put a drink on here but that makes a great little workstation i could imagine sitting there catching up with me emails ideal so that then is the main deck let's go and take a look at the lower deck now we head down here the distribution panel is over on this side they've simplified it on this boat because everything's controlled by the bonding system and then it's also backed up with mechanical switches so if you've ever had a problem with that you can still make things turn on and off air conditioning system is here as well and the light switches of course and if we head down again what we have down here a couple of things to show you first of all is that is a washer dryer but in fact what they've done is put a big storage area above it that's big enough that if you wanted to have a separate washing machine and a separate dryer you could do you could use that area as well as we head forward again this then is your vip gas cabin really good size and again some lovely detailing i love the way they've done the wood i put the head of the bed like that it's a big tv in here there's storage all the way around and then even tucked away in places like behind the mirror and look at the finish on here as well stitched across here this beautiful material it's really nice they've done a lovely job of this the speakers in here all hooked up to the stereo system and there's a hatch in the ceiling over there and that takes you out onto the four deck so that's just an emergency way out of this level if it was ever needed big hanging locker on this side and those cases there that's all the instruction books for all the equipment on the boat for everything from tvs to navigation kit everything comes with an instruction manual and they're all tucked away in there and as you'd expect of course ensuite i love these nice formed sinks they're using now they look really good you've got a big separate shower area with a rainfall shower and then the lure is in behind and then again storage tucked away in places like this and in fact you've got it under the bed as well there's big drawers down underneath here so loads of room to get things away spare bedding that sort of thing it's a really nice cabin there's a huge floor area as well into here so plenty room to come in get changed very nice indeed we'll head back again this is the day heads so very similar standard tiny bit smaller the new separate shower cubicle and so on and that then is also shared by cabins two and three they're either side if we go into this one first of all you can see how everything's just a really good size loads of headroom in here and again the finish is the same everywhere it's really nicely done there's a big hanging locker in here it's illuminated of course storage dotted about the place there's drawers underneath the bed and another thing i wanted to show you is they've made every engineering area where you can get to it without tools so that's what this up here is for if we draw that one down you'll see that takes us into things like air conditioning routing and wiring but you don't need to get the tools out to get to it and something they work very hard on to make sure that if you have a problem it can be sorted out very quickly and very easily the other thing that we have in here is access directly into that day head so at night this becomes an ensuite cabin av equipment in here as well and then if we head across the passageway we'll find cabin three and one thing you'll notice here is this is set up as a double bed but there's a button that we can press here and you can see how that powers out this is on both of the cabins i think it's an option but it's a very useful one so that could be two singles or a double quite literally at the press of a button and the other thing you have in here let's take that all the way out actually and you can see how that looks there's two singles there we go there's a really great view out we're down at king point marina in plymouth at the moment there we go look at that a beautiful morning it's late february and very cold very crisp but absolutely stunning there's blinds that drop down across here of course so you've got privacy if you want it there's storage down underneath the bed they tried to pack storage into absolutely everywhere because it's one thing you can never quite have enough of and again big hanging locker up in here or illuminated and again you can see there's the access panel so if we go up here this one it's taking us in behind the helm so you can see the back of the raymarine equipment there and the bonning system and so on and it's even illuminated i mean it's just the engineering and the technical details behind the scenes on these are just superb cool that's that you might be thinking well where's the master cabin i shall show you if we go back up here we will discover a completely separate stairway and that takes us down and as the owner you get your own private suite down here one thing i'll show you just in this lobby area the stairs that we just came up were here and you used to better lift the stairs to get to storage what they've done now is put the access on this side so that is the inside of the stairs that go down obviously that's a much better place to be able to get to it from big mirror here and then this doorway takes us into the master cabin look at that that's just stunning isn't it beautiful i love the settee they've put over on this side there's a great tv in here as well so you can tuck yourself away and watch a movie for night time you've got the speakers in here again all linked up to that name system they're focal speakers so very high quality speakers and then we come across here again of course that terrific view out across the water and look at the details the way they've formed all of this around here really really nice in fact one thing i do particularly like in this cabin is these shelves on this side it's all details but it just works so well that's very nice indeed this is a little dressing table here so you can lift that up like so and the mirror folds out thusly and then you've got things that's a soft close like power sockets in behind here there's usbs dotted around the place as well because of course everything these days tend to be usb charged again the way they finish this with this stitched area across here it's all just so very very nice now they changed the layout on this compared to the f70 on the f70 you came into here and then the heads was to the front of the cabin now it's at the back and they've done this because what it means is you've got more separation between yourself and the engine space so that just helps the sound deadening so if we go into here really lovely heads twin sinks mirrors across here of course rainfall shower and yulu it's all very princess isn't it all very lovely nice and then this is a nice little dressing area here because you've got things like your wardrobes here like so and then there's also a chest of drawers down underneath so you can get all your clothes and bits and pieces away into there come out here get dressed ready for the day isn't that stunning so that is the accommodation we've got plenty more to see actually as we head out there's one more thing i want to show you this is the air conditioning system but these are the lights for the cabins and you'll notice they've got different modes the idea of this is if you hit the brighter sun you get everything lit up on sort of what you might call full beam so all the lights are full on this one's then a night mode it just dims everything down quite neatly and then if you hit that one with the moon what that does is it gives you just the accent lighting so it's just very subtle back lighting and of course the off button there as well all very simple it's just a nice touch to control the lighting depending on how you're using the cabin anyways head on back up here but we would pause just for a minute because that's just also nice isn't it beautiful beautiful job they've made of this i love it okay let's head on back i think we'll do a turn around the decks first and then we'll go up to the fly bridge let's just pop my shoes back on okay these doors are options it means if you are side birthed to a dock you can walk straight off the side depends where you're bursting the boat of course whether that's relevant to you or not which is why they're an option and they have got very nice wide side decks and really deeply bull walked as well you can see them here so as you walk along here it feels really safe and secure and it's a very very easy walk another thing that i'll show you is these rails on the outside these are normally circular or cylindrical i should say these have been flattened off to more of an oval shape i don't know how you can see that but they feel really really good because they're sort of flat and then sort of squashed that way if you see what i mean sort of thing you find on super yachts less so on this type of boat so it just gives that feeling of quality again up here on the front seating area around the front here of course this is quite clever because what you can do with these is you can lift these backrests up to give forward facing sun lounging or you can lift these up they come this way and that then creates seating facing these people so depending on how you want to configure this you can sort that out to suit if we carry on right up to the front then look at the size of this mooring gear so you've got these really big cleats here in the center and then these chunky stainless steel fairleads that's the whole princess quality ethos it just feels and looks so good so tactile you've got um anchor chain lockers of course down in here underneath this one that's that hatch from the forward cabin that i mentioned so you can just open that of course that cushion just pushes out of the way take decks all the way around on this one these nice stainless steel cup holders about the place that is a good looking boat let's go and take a look at the fly bridge i'll just show you these as we go past the one nice thing with princess is that don't forget that it's actually a practical boat so you do get things like these storage areas in places like this and that's the water fill at that silver disc that you can see there excellent let's carry on back a bit further this is a drop window on this side so you've got the opening door as i mentioned on the other side but a window on this side so you can get plenty of ventilation through at the helm end of the boat and if you come right on back this one i'll take this round i should just point these out i didn't mention these earlier these are life raft storage in here there's ropes in there at the minute but there's one either side so again you can get to these lockers or you can get your life rafts you have to displace any of this seating that's very nice okay steps up to the fly bridge these silver discs are lights so these are all illuminated at night and then this is the fly bridge i think we'll start right at the front and work our way back shall we so the helm is up here again you've got these two beautiful seats very similar to the ones that we had down at the lower helm and then your instrumentation is across here it's a bonning system again and then your two ray marine screens so very similar and then across here bound stern thruster controls your autopilot searchlight control you've got fire extinguishing systems so you can keep a check on those for the lazarette in the engine room and of course engine controls vhf radio trim tabs and so on and a really great view from here when you're maneuvering the boat you can really see exactly what you're doing with it seating area over on this side so again when you're cruising down the coast and this size of boat a lot of people will owner operate these they won't have crew so it means everyone can sit together and enjoy the ride it is big enough that you can have a crew of course but it just depends how you use the boat how you want to go baiting but this works very well either way around because you've got loads of different spaces on the boat but plenty of spaces where people can be together as we've got here and if we head back a little bit further i will show you first of all actually this top because what they've done with this now is put these louvre tops on and there's a switch if i can find it yeah here we go you can see how those power down there we go so if you want to close that you just do it like that or you can open them up and get plenty of light in but then position them so you get a bit of shade as well if you want it behind here then big seating area around this table i love the way they've done the woodwork on this i don't know how this will pick it up but you can see there was this inset this sort of sweep of wood across there just to give a bit of detail what's quite nice is that that center section will slide out which means that if you're dining you can have it like it is now plenty of room for everybody and everything but if you're just having a drink up here of an evening you can take that center section out and then people can get in and out and around without all shuffling around the table so that's a neat touch and this is catered for then by a wet bar over on this side again the finishes on here there's different tones of gray and then this pale grey top and the black on here just works really well there's a big fridge in this one and then you have an ice maker over here and a bin in underneath that one and then finally barbecue underneath there and if we head on back a bit further sunbathing area again this is a nice touch this backrest that they put around here just makes it really nice we'll lie out sit and chat and a great view out the back i like the way they've done this teak across the back and then this glass panel so you've got a pretty uninterrupted view out across the back of the boat it's a big area isn't it superb okay that then is the deck areas we've got true cabin to go and of course the engines and the mechanical bits so we'll head back down here now you'll notice there's a big hatch in the floor here and we're going to see the other side of that in a minute i just want to point it out so you can see where it is when i talk about it we'll head on around here steps back down to this bathing platform and then the access to the crew cabin is in here slip my shoes off again and then we go now for a 72 foot boat i think this is actually really good you've got tons of headroom in here i'm six foot two and as you can see it's plenty for me but what they have done with this is really try and cram as much storage in here as possible because this is often quite limiting in crew cabins so tucked away in places like this but also underneath the bed you can see that there are lockers if i come right down here down underneath here there's a little locker here there's another one down between the beds come right around here you can see also there's drawers over here like this and then finally there's a hanging locker over on this side so that really is quite a bit of storage for an area like this that works well and then if we head around here this then is a shower on this side and the toilet on this side but what you can do is which is quite clever is if i come right in and pull that one across you'll see that that actually fits perfectly into there and that makes this into then the bathroom so you've got the loo and the sink and so on but the shower then it's all connected and separate from there so that's very good and then if we go through this door [Music] this takes us into the lazarette area so in here generators one generation is standard and then there's an option of a second generator which this boat has and on this side this is the big hatch i was telling you about that's in the cockpit floor so this is another way out of this area you can see the steps are up here and the reason for this big box area is because that's where the sea keeper lives you can get a really big sea keeper stabilizer in there this one's got the hydraulic pack so you get an electric bounce ruster as standard but you can upgrade as this one is so having a hydraulic bow thruster and stern thruster and anchor winch and in fact you can also have hydraulic fin stabilizers if you want as i say this one's got sea keeper but if you wanted the stabilizers then you can have them and this is all circuit breakers across here for your 240 volt system and your 24 volt system and fire suppression is in here as well that's automatic but that's what that manual override that we saw in the cockpit powers off there is um battery charging in here there's also an inverter and the inverter runs things like the stereo equipment and other bits and pieces that are normally 240 volt which means you can run that kind of stuff without having to have your generator on if you want to and that at the top is the telescopic passarelle so that's that gangplank that extends out of the back of the boat and then finally if we head forward again this takes us into the engine space here we go now standard engines on this are man v8s this one's been upgraded it's got men v12s they're 1650 horsepower each and that turns this into an absolute flying machine it's 35 knots flat out which means you can cruise at 30 which is very very impressive for both of this size and style range you are looking at planing speeds up to about 500 miles if you drop it down to displacement speed so down to about sort of eight ten knots you're more like 1500 miles so you can get some serious range out of this it's very princess in here beautifully laid out these are all your air conditioning systems racked along here what's interesting is that they are another set over on this side with a separate pump so these are for separate areas the starboard saloon saloon galley starboard cabin forward cabin and so on and then on this side you've got crew cabin port cabin helm stateroom but because they're driven from separate pumps it means if you ever had a problem you'd still have the redundancy of half of the system still working because they're on separate pumping systems so that's pretty clever tons of headroom in here talked about the headroom before but look at this it's just remarkable it's a very spacious engine room fans are in here so that's obviously pumping the air through keep the engines well fed with air control systems of the engines are down here as well another fire suppressing system on the back that's for this area and these are the raw water strainers so it pumps raw water out from the sea through these strainers around the engine to cool the engine and then out lots of detailing in here you can see even a little tap and a hose there so you want to watch anything down you can do and these great big fellows on this side look like dustbins those are the silences for the exhaust so she's actually pretty quiet when she's out and running even at speed the engines are conventional drives so they've got gearboxes on the back and then a straight shaft drive out the propellers on the outside of the hull of course and rudders behind those but that is rather a nice engine space isn't it cool okay let's come back out of here back through the lazarette we'll close that one over there we go this will take us back into the crew area i think we'll head up back onto the half deck or the bathing platform to be more precise so drop that one over and i think i'll enjoy this little seat just here and say massive thanks to princess yachts for that exclusive really grateful i hope you enjoyed that one i think it's been a fascinating boat to take a look at and huge thanks to you guys as ever for watching we'll catch you on another one of these very soon take care bye you
