[Music] [Music] good morning from san diego california this is my adopted home over the past two years the morning fog is starting to lift the marine layer is burning out and we're gonna go get some tacos today this is my first video in a good amount of time five must try tacos here in san diego we're starting out in the north we're here in la jolla or as tyler on the camera likes to call it la jala we're gonna hit the taco stand and then we're gonna move all the way south through the city and show you five unique spots you gotta try let's go as you can see we're starting off in the swankier part of town this is probably one of the most expensive places to be in the entire city but the tacos are worth it they're still legit let's go inside and grab some tacos [Applause] [Applause] alright so throughout the day i'm gonna try to get a different taco at each different spot we go to so the first stop i'm gonna go with the carne asada and also the nopal nepal is a cactus it's a delicious vegetarian option so you can still get tacos even if you don't eat meat i usually actually get the california burrito here but that's pretty aggressive to start out a full day of taco eating so i'm gonna do carne asada and i'm gonna go to nepal thank you very much all right we got him we got the bag of goodies let's see what we got here it's nice right across the street here you got a car wash so you got the sweet sounds of a car wash all right let's just jump right into it we got carne asada let's see if i picked the carne asada it's really cool right in there you can see the woman pressing the tortillas they make all their tortillas from scratch look at this beauty ho ho we got white onions we have cilantro guacamole carne asada beautiful corn tortillas this is perfect oh my god really good tender meat corn tortilla is just falling apart in your mouth you got the crunch from the onions a little bit of taste from the cilantro but it's not overpowering and then the sweet fattiness of the avocado very good you can eat about 10 of these as if this is your only stop of the day but we got a lot more all right and now we have the vegetarian friendly option and this is nopal crunchy almost a mix of asparagus a green bean it's got a nice crunch to it and on this one is melted cheese as well this has incredible crunch the nopal is nice and firm the melted cheese is absolutely delicious corn tortilla again just really subtle and nice fresh tomatoes on there avocado but i'm a meat guy i mean i like this this is very good if you're a vegetarian i get it but nothing compares to pasteur or carne sala in my opinion but this is very good it's light it's refreshing it's the perfect start it's like the salad of tacos so it's good but come on if you're a vegetarian i get it it was real that's real life also if you get a bunch of these different salsas i just take them home you can use them on everything i put them on my eggs i put them on sandwiches i put them on everything you don't want to waste all these little containers so bring those i'm sure we're gonna have a ton of these by the end of the day but that's it the taco stand check that's stop number one let's keep moving [Music] i feel like god fieri getting out of the car like this hey everybody listen we're at our second stop now in this unsuspecting party time liquor lot right next to the mobile station is my favorite hands on my favorite fish taco in all of san diego and that is kiko's place now there's a couple of different kikos so you got to be aware which one you go to i've always gone to this one they used to have a spot in north park and now they moved over here and have different management over there but a lot of people talk about oscars as the best fish taco in san diego but for me my personal favorite at kiko's you gotta try that so we're gonna walk over here get some og fish tacos some ceviche let's go come on [Music] tacos [Music] [Music] all right we're right along the side of the highway in the gas station next to the liquor store food truck right there this unbelievable soup oh my god seafood broth with the cabbage the onions the peppers a bunch of different herbs that was delicious they give this to you right at the beginning as soon as you place your order you get a free little cup of soup all right now let's get on to the main event it was the og fish tacos big fish fried cabbage we got pico de gallo on there a little bit of the cream you can see that perfectly cooked fish every time it is money every time listen some places you go you can't even tell it's a fish taco you taste the batter but you don't have the fish as really prominent so here a big piece of fish beautifully fried got the cabbage on top to add the crunch cilantro pico de gallo and that cream sauce that just ties it all together all right i'm gonna say one taco for you bud you got that taco but i want to show you guys this one this is off the list we're going to five tacos must try this isn't one of them but this is a must try it is their mixed ceviche that they have here at kiko's there is shrimp on here there's fish there is pico de gallo again amazing seasoning there is some cucumbers and a bunch of avocado on the side and this is electric but it's so light that's delicious look at this just big pieces of shrimp this is about as good as it gets and in the perfect setting oh man all right let's keep moving we go all parked up stopped and chula vista we're right on broadway and this is tacos al gordo a tijuana taco spot that was set up here right in san diego they're also in nevada there's about five locations we're gonna go grab some tacos this is going to be very interesting this is my first time here but this is the most hyped up taco spot in the whole city let's go inside so we got aguado which is pork we got it spinning right there they have mulas vampiros which are like quesadillas but there's all different styles so let's go get some tacos um let's do two alba store let's do one calendar uh one lingua one shoulder and then uh one moula [Music] all right a little horchata here and also we got a full spread radishes limes two different types of salsa this is what i'm most excited about pastor is probably my favorite taco otherwise known as aloado now some say al pastor and alobado are two different style tacos one is usually on a spit and one is cooked in a fry pan but usually they can be used or said interchangeably depends on who you ask either way this is what i'm gonna start with two corn tortillas a ton of that pork sliced super thin right from the spinning roast let's give it a try that's ridiculous it's got this crunchy coating from the pork oh my god a little spice unbelievable balance with the cream and also the onions are really crisp a little cilantro in there just pouring over with meat that is so good oh look at these little guys all right we have tongue we have kawesa our head and we have shoulder i'm gonna start i'm gonna go i'm gonna dive right in we're gonna go straight tongue going right for the tongue before i even bought her a drink here we go oh that looks good [Music] oh yeah that has a distinct flavor to it i i don't want to call it gamey but there's definitely you can tell it's a lot more earthy than traditional carne salads there's some beef there's a it's a more robust flavor but cut with this green chili sauce little bit of onions again and these unbelievable tacos these beautiful soft corn tortilla tacos that's good all right this one is the shoulder beef shoulder yeah all right that's a much more mild flavor this just tastes like pulled pork or pulled beef what it actually is a little bit drier but still delicious more mild than the tongue understandably so and definitely more familiar but delicious as well all right before i finish that off the last one this one looks so good big chunks of meat this one is kalesa wow crazy to say this is even softer than the shoulder very delicate that just breaks right apart wow very mild flavor this one actually might be my favorite of the three it's kind of a mix between the two the lingua has really strong flavors the shoulder is a little bit more relaxed tastes a little bit more familiar and this one has just a hint of something foreign a i just asked her how am i supposed to eat this thing the moula is like a crazy grilled cheese sandwich smothered in between two tortillas stuffed with pasta which is pork and then also carne asada which is beef and it's got so much going on so much cheese i mean this place is open until two in the morning and then on the weekends it's open till four in the morning so this is a late night drunk spot and this is the perfect late-night drunk meal okay in tons she just came by and gave me should americans eat with a fork and knife americans even a fork a knife but mexicans eat this with their hands so i gotta do as the mexicans do if i'm here and this is look at this it's gonna go all down you ready for this that's so good oh my god if i had a couple of drinks this would be unbelievable and even right now sober the melted cheese along with the pork and the beef so aggressive so good i'm going for it full scent all right that's it stop number three in the books hunger level is going down a little bit i say i'm at a four right now but we got two more stops to go let's head to the next spot right now that was delicious and absolutely lived up to the hype let's go [Music] all right here we go we're at stop number four we're right across from chicano park in barrio logan this is las cuatro milpas i'm very excited they say get the rice and beans here get the chicken tacos and also fresh flour tortillas let's go see [Music] wow all right you got the the restaurant right there obviously they're doing just on the go right now just to go orders we'll sit here we got tyler's sprite right there and the whole thing you guys the whole thing was twelve dollars really twelve dollars that's cheap oh the whole thing you got two things of rice and beans two rice two orders of rice and beans one with chorizo two chicken tacos tortillas looks like some hot sauce in there and a sprite 12 wow that's great all right so we came here for the tacos this is a taco video so let's start with those chicken tacos on a fried hard shell here we go milpas you hear that crunch you hear that oh my gosh a delicious crunch on the outside all right we got cheese we got shredded lettuce got potato in there and potatoes delicious this is a good day it's a really good day what's your uh what's your hunger level right now on a scale of one to ten maybe a two but i'm i'm just i'm riding on emotion the emotion of these delicious tacos is what i'm riding on it's just each and every one is different unique and delicious all right now one round of this ridiculous rice and beans this is the one with chorizo in it whoa that's awesome all right if i was hungry right now i would eat all of this in one sitting you put a fried egg on this oh my god a little bit of chorizo not too spicy perfectly cooked beans rice is nice and soft wow this is good hearty meal and then whoa yeah we did our research and they said you had to get the rice and beans and i'm glad we did but these tortillas are still warm look at this how great does that look dip it in the rice and beans come on now you're talking this is just gonna go next level oh good you got to come here that's it it's a wrap right let's keep going [Music] the sun's coming down now we're heading out of barrio logan we're going back up towards the beach we're going to go to point loma to a place called mitch's for an interesting taco so i'm excited hunger level is pretty low but energy level is up i caught my second wind maybe it was the sugar-filled horchata i'm not sure so i'm ready to go [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right in our fifth and final location of the day our fifth taco we're gonna try is right here in point loma at the harbor and so we're going to stop at a place called mitch's seafood where we're going to try the octopus taco this is one of my favorite things in all of the city as the sun is setting the fishing boats are coming in it's a beautiful night let's go have one last taco the best thing about this place is the photos all the big catches that they've had you know i'll see them all throughout the years got gems like this it's like the same photo when they killed escobar fish never stood a chance against this guy neither did shampoo all right here we are the final spot you just get a number you wait for your food to be ready you sit outside on this patio you overlook the boats it's unbelievable there's so much fresh fish here i already said that we got a bunch of different stuff but the prime thing that i want to show you guys is the octopus taco here corn tortillas cabbage again that cream sauce that we saw earlier today a little pico de gallo and these crunchy octopus bits oh i'm so excited and this is stop number five i'm still excited that's how good it is so the greatest thing about this octopus taco is that it's crunchy outside it's almost like you're eating chicharron it's crunchy on the outside it's nice and soft on the inside perfectly cooked a little bit of spice so much octopus in there chopped up it's delicious but listen i don't expect you guys to do all of these taco spots in one day i'm just giving you examples of what you can eat you don't have to go across the entire length of the city and eat tacos but it is an option if you have the stomach for it and that's it we're closing up here octopus tacos right here in point loma delicious day i am most definitely satisfied if you guys ever come to san diego or you live here and haven't been to some of these spots i'd definitely check it out make sure you like the video if you like it make sure you comment if you want to comment make sure you subscribe if you
