creating faces has been one of those things that 3d artists get to find a little bit daunting to do especially when you want to recreate your own face given the autonomy of how the face is with setting intricacies so today we're going to be looking at a brand new tool from the guys at Kim tools and this tool has to do with the new face builder and the cool thing with the face view that is this has been around for nuke for a while now but today was seeing a free add-on version that is available for blender so if your blender user and want to create face you think you have hard time making faces or sculpting this face or you just need a base mesh which you can start off with then probably this tool is for you so I'm going to put a link in the description where you guys can find all of these things and it's pretty simple to actually get this thing up and running and today we're going to also jump into blender and take a look at how this works and I'm going to talk through a couple of things that you guys need to know especially if you want extract getting your feet wet with this tool so first things first we're going to simply load up blender here and we blend that open I'm just going to go ahead and take out Sue's and monkey so I'm just going to press N on my keyboard to get this fly out here and the next what you want to do is come over to the face builder add-on that has been installed and click here to create new head this is the version one point five point seven the beta so also click here we're going to create a brand new mesh directly on our viewports so other things that you need to know is for you to start working with this you need to go all the way down here and simply click over here and add the images if there is a camera setting that you use to take this images then of course you can set them here and from here is where you can actually reset the model and do some other things as well now for the images which you need to add I'm going to link 3d dot SK where you can find free reference images that you can work with and since the a friend of ours we're also going to get references from them which we're going to work with in this video so if you're getting this images is very very crucial that the image size is the same if the image size is not the same you probably have issues trying to align the camera to work properly for you and if this is the case what you need to do is you can open up image editing program like Photoshop and simply align these things properly and once that is done all you have to do now is simply click on add image get the images that you want to work with and then simply add the image so for this we're going to go through our first image and then we're also going to click by holding down ctrl to select the second image and click on open so by just simply clicking on open you can see we have two cameras that's been set here and these cameras we can access them by just simply clicking on the name of the image which you have so this is for the front and this other one is for the side so you can also use these as a way of trying to get this thing up and running so with that said let's get right into the meat and potatoes of this so for you to start walking with this thing what you need to do is you can actually jump out of this okay so if I click here you can actually jump out of this and press the tab key and do whatever I want to do with the head model or you can just simply jump back right inside here to start walking so first things we need to do is to create a pin and I'd like to start by creating a painful part like the nose and the next part which I like to create a pin for is definitely somewhere like the chain and then I will create a pin for somewhere like the forehead just to make sure I have that balance the other places you need to create a pin for since this is working with some sort of symmetry until you create a second pin for these things other places which you will probably want to create a pin for is places like the eyes if you want to delete any of these pins you can just simply right click to delete the pin and then you can simply click again to add a brand new pin so for the eyes were going to simply just go with one and make sure we have this day so I'm just going to also click there click one here just simply click to add that there use this to reposition this stuff how I want it to be and I'm going to just simply push this one all the way up so next which I want to do is to actually position the eyebrow so I'm going to position the eyebrow here and also here I'm also just going to add a pin here and another pin right there and I might just give this a little bit of cheek which is going to also come true here let's also play with the ears will be some grits also selects here and actually align this and let's also do the same thing for this part of the head and also for this other part of the head and I think we should also do this what is that a part of the ear and maybe we can also work with this other side of the ear next thing we want to play with now is the mouth and with this done the next thing which you would like to really do is to check the other views so that you can start getting things to work for you so with this here of course you can go in and start tweaking things just to make sure that you have the best results I'm going to switch over to the side view so we decide view here we're going to also do exactly the same thing which we did by default I always start off with the nose so I'm just going to go through and position the nose right there and then I'm going to also position the chin this is totally up to you and how you want to work with these things and of course you can work with these things in any way that you deem fit and of course at any point in time you can always zoom right inside your image and this is in case there are certain details which you want to create or certain details you want to replicate you can always zoom right inside so for a part like the eye now and maybe for a part like the nose as well we can zoom right in and you can add as much points as you want just to get you know the best result and it's also good to note that this is more like a keep bashing or should I say if this is more like you know you blocking out certain things and just like every other form of craft start with the very big details then you can break it down to the very small ones and if you're done with this the next thing which you want to do is by simply clicking on this button so that you can exit and with that you can see that we have exactly the model which we have there and so if you want to make some other changes you can jump into the sculpting section and you can start sculpting to make some extra changes well if you're good with this one and let's say you're done with what you want you can just simply jump back here and simply add textures to this and we've already talked about how you can add textures link to that is going to be in the description we talked about yidams and of course if you want to also add textures working with apps like ZBrush you can of course go through and add textures with that or you can use substance painter and do a simple projection mapping and these are basically ways that you can work with but what if you want the app to actually create textures for you so if you want the app to create textures for you you can come over to this part where we have the textures and you can select the UV types that you want and simply tell the app to create UVs so it's going to create UVs and also create textures for you so once you click on the create texture button right here and just simply select the images that you want so let's say we want an image from here we also want an image from here and just simply click on OK it's going to do the best it can to actually create these textures for us and with that done you'll be able to see your texture mapped originally and directly onto your model so of course you can go in and start making some tweaks and make some changes but to me I think this is actually one of the very cool stuffs that you can get and these are actually some very interesting ways that you can get started with working with a model like this and the other things that you can do now is just to simply go through and you know clean up some certain parts replicate some certain pathway you want them to be and this is going to be about it tell me what you guys think about this in the comment section and of course if you liked this video you learnt something from me so you can go ahead and give it a like and don't forget to turn on notifications and if you're new here is going to be
