2021 Nucamp TAG at Ft McAllister State Park

okay here's your walk around we bought this thing because early when coved hit we were camping out in north georgia and i find that getting up off the ground in the middle of the night to pee is not as easy as it once was so i needed something it would be off the ground keep me dry in the rain would keep the critters out and it also has to be able to fit in our garage my homeowners association is not going to allow one of these out in the driveway or alongside the house so here it is let me just give you a quick outside tour this box in the front has the propane and the battery in there this is the monster chain i got to make sure that this thing doesn't get hooked up to the wrong vehicle and towed away this is the power cord this is the water and that's the water drain here we don't have hot water we don't have a shower those are the stabilizers down there and these the exhaust one on each side for the air conditioner again my tent didn't have an air conditioner or a heater or a stereo or reading lights or night lights so we have taken a big step up this is very comfortable we put a two inch memory foam on this mattress it came with and then a mattress topper on top of that incredibly soft and pleasant bed sleeps really well up on top you have a three-way fan you can blow in or it can blow out there's doors on both sides the doors have these windows they're really just glorified lights you don't want to look out those windows you've got other windows to look out let me show you how those work these windows go out like this and just screw to hold them in place that's got a screen on it right now for uh insects there are a few nats out here that can go up if you like and this is a privacy shade or the two of them can come together and snap you can decide how much privacy and how much screen you want that's the fuse box there's a little storage there the air conditioner the heater to the left of that and the stereo left of that another window on the other side then there's this this huge stargazer window on the front and it also has the screen privacy arrangement there's the stargazer window looks like from the front around the left i have this little pop-up phone booth here that we have a toilet in if you need to get up the middle knight p that's you can use that there's the top and that's the fan you see up there and then on this side of it is we have a 100 watt solar uh solar panel this arrangement here i had to come up with for the tarp the rain it's basically just velcro strips it sets up in seconds on there and then you just put these three poles that are in pieces and actually there's a fourth pole back there the poles have to be in an incline because that's a waterproof tarp so the water needs somewhere to run off in the very back you have the kitchen area which has a microwave a two burner stove sink and a large yeti cooler this used to come with a refrigerator but i guess the refrigerator sucked all of your power out because it had to be going all the time so this yeti cooler evidently will is a better deal so that's what they're doing on the newer ones and it has a 110 plug and a 12 volt plug so we have a coffee maker out here we also have a toaster and there's a stereo out here also [Music] there's your kitchen the kitchen has a nice bright light up here which we don't use very much but we enjoy the i don't know if you can see that here in the daytime that's a little background lighting same as in the cab i'll show you what that looks like in a second let's see if i can turn this on here [Music] there we go now these uh lights here if you just hit them one time they turn on blue so the middle of the night you don't wake up the other individual and if you hold them on they become a reading light [Music] one thing about camping out here where everybody has an rv and i haven't seen a tent in this entire campground at state park everybody has these very large rvs and the only time you see the people is when this 10 o'clock in 10 30 in the morning when they come out to walk their dogs that's it full setup it tows pretty easily with this car right here another thing we've noticed is that when we were camping uh i had to put in the trunk the tent sleeping bags the air mattress the stove the cooler now all of those things are part of this trailer so it leaves me a lot more room in my trunk so we carry firewood and things like that we haven't been on a long camp out yet just an overnighter and then this one which is two nights and then our next one will hopefully be on a couple of weeks well that's about it we're really enjoying this little thing it's a lot of fun the weber grill is going and we got steaks ready to throw on the grill right here the hiss of the coleman lantern behind me we're about ready to get dinner going here what do we got here well it's about 9 30 in the evening we're supposed to start raining at eight it didn't what a wonderful evening steak dinner fort mcallister state park georgia there's been no wind at all today so we'll see how this little tarp setup works once the storms come in overnight but i think we'll be fine had a raccoon kind of hanging close by he just refuses to go too far away i expect to see him over the evening woke up to a pretty heavy rain this morning we were dry and warm
