18 New OneUI Features on Galaxy S24 that Samsung Didn't Talk About!

I've been using the Galaxy s24 Ultra for the past few days and surprisingly there are still many new features that Samsung didn't mention at their unpacked event and a lot of them are really incredible to the point where they may even tempt you into finally getting the Galaxy s24 if I do tip you over the edge into pre-ordering one of the s24 devices feel free to use my link in the description you get some great deals and even help support your boy now the first s24 feature that went under the rug is that widgets can now be added directly to the lock screen and I know one UI already had a similar feature that lets you tap on the clock to bring up certain widgets but with the s24 you now get smaller widgets pinned directly underneath the tie plus the even transition nicely to the always on display to enable them you just long pressing the lock screen tap widgets and then you can choose to add any from the battery calendar clock reminder Health app or weather app surprisingly they even look extremely similar to how Apple made their iOS lock screen widgets and it works the same way too where you can only add two to four widgets at a time still I welcome them cuz they are very useful another neat thing that I like but does seem to be a straight copy from the iPhone is that the wallpaper can still be shown within the always on display whenever you lock your phone it just dims and darkens it slightly to make it seem like the lights are out I'm sure this does affect the battery life and of course you can turn it off within the always on display settings but it's just another way to make your Samsung a bit more personal by the way all these new features including the two I just discussed were discovered by Michelle Raman he made a whole Twitter thread going over a ton of new features that Samsung didn't mention at their unpacked event I'll be going over all of them in this video so a huge shout out to him and I'll even leave his patreon in the description if you want to support him this next one's neat you can now overlay whether or effects onto your log screen based on your area's time and weather conditions so if it's raining outside it'll start raining on your log screen or if it's snowing it'll become a winter wonderland it's pretty cool and works with any wallpaper you set to enable it you just need to head into the settings Advanced features labs and enable photo ambient wallpaper from there you can go back to the settings homepage jump into wallpaper and style change wallpapers select the new photo ambient option it'll have you choose a photo to use as your lock screen background and you can preview the effects when you press the play icon in the left corner once you hit done it should be applied on the topic of wallpapers the Galaxy s24 series also comes with Google's generative AI wallpaper feature so just like on the Google pixels you can have one UI generate some never been seen before wallpapers and it works the same exact way with the same themes and category choices the only difference is that Samsung designed their UI a bit differently also we just made these awesome exclusive wallpapers inspired inspired only on my patreon link down below now back to the topic of AI Samsung brought a lot of new AI Fe features to the Galaxy s24 series and I'm sure most of you already know what they are since you've probably seen a review or two if you haven't there are plenty on the internet but with there being so many it's pretty tough to keep track of all of them luckily a place within the settings has them all neatly organized to find it head into advanced features and within this new advanced intelligence menu you'll be able to see all the new Galaxy AI features that Samsung brought to the s24 lineup tapping each one will let you configure them and learn more about them it just makes it easier to take full advantage of your new s24 which again you can pre-order below another thing that Samsung didn't mention at Galaxy unpacked is that the cameras on the back make the phone wobble when you try to use it while it's laying flat on its back so to solve this I slapped on Taurus's oand case the sponsor of this video cuz it makes the s24 ultra's entire back flush plus it also comes with an extendable ring to let you stand the phone at almost any angle that way you can watch content much easier write a lot easier especially with the new Galaxy AI note assist feature and even take photos more quickly when combining the SP Pen's remote control feature it's also a very slim case that remains extremely protective with military great protection and raised edges for all the sides and cameras for even better protection you can also pick up Taurus's Diamond Shield screen protector which has a super easy three-step installation process stick press pull it also has solid protection with 9h hardness it's smooth to the touch has no color deviation and still gives you high sensitivity touchscreen so that you can continue to use the S Pen and unlock the phone in 04 seconds without a problem Taurus's oand case makes it easy to combine all things in one if you're interested I'll drop the link at the top of the description back to the AI settings page at the bottom of this menu there's a toggle that lets you force every Galaxy AI feature to only process data on the device instead of doing it online the only downside is that it does say it won't provide the best results but honestly I prefer my privacy over personalization so I switched it on and never looked back now my favorite Galaxy AI feature is circle to search it's just a super seamless way to look up items within any picture I just long press the home button and draw over any object or text to quickly search it on Google works like a charm but for whatever reason Samsung at their event made it seem like it only worked on the three button ad bar when in actuality it also works with the gesture navigation you just long press on the gesture bar and boom it pops up almost scared me there for a second Samsung the only downside is that you can no longer hide the gesture na bar on the s24 devices but but I'm okay with that here's an interesting one the Galaxy s24 series comes pre-loaded with a new app called find it's similar to Google's find my device app which lets you keep track of all your devices linked to your account the only difference is that this find app only works with Samsung devices so any Galaxy phone smart tag or other Samsung product connected to your Samsung account can now be tracked and ringed inside to find plus you can even share your live location with anyone else who has a Samsung device pretty useful and for anyone wondering all future Samsung phones will come with this app pre-installed or anyone who already owns a Samsung phone can upgrade to the latest 1ui 6.1 updates and download it from the Galaxy store this next one is pretty random the Galaxy s24 series now has a new camera sharing feature to let you use the phone as a webcam for any nearby Galaxy tablet I know most of you won't use it but I'm sure someone out there is jumping up and down for this right now if that's you just leave a comment and I'll be sure to hard it you just need to make sure that both devices have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled unfortunately I don't own a Galaxy tablet so I can't try this feature out but it's there we all know about nearby share if you don't it's basically airdrop for Android and Samsung has its own version called quickshare which only works across Galaxy devices but recently Google and Samsung have been working together to merge nearby share with quickshare and it seems that quickshare has come out on top with both companies agreeing that it'll replace the name nearby share completely and eventually arrive to every other Android well the Galaxy s24 series seems to support this new Quick Share and is now able to pick up any other Android devices that have nearby share I tried it out with some other content creators and it worked like a chart we didn't even have a signal since we were in the middle of for and the files still manag to send without a problem another exciting feature that Samsung didn't mention is that the s24 lineup is the first non-pixel Android phone to support dual eim meaning you can use two eim plans simultaneously even though the s24 only has a single eim chip Micha got it working on his Galaxy s24 and said it's made possible thanks to the multiple enabled profiles feature there's also extra battery protection for the S4s to help extend the battery life in the long run to find it hop into the settings select battery enable battery protection and then you can choose between three different modes the basic mode is what we're all used to Adaptive is a bit smarter and charges based on your sleep time and usage patterns and maximum completely stops the charging once the phone reaches 80% before you can only limit the charge to 85% but now you get a bit more variety which is nice for the s24 cameras there are also some new software features that Samsung included but didn't bother to mention at unpa the first is that Google's Ultra HDR format is Now supported it's a new image format from Google that is an improved version of JPEG and was only recently introduced in Android 14 it's essentially there to offer a more realistic look than standard hdr on top of that michall has confirmed that the s24 lineup now supports fors SDR dimming this one's a little technical but michall describes it as a feature on Android that essentially lowers the pixel intensities of SDR layers only while keeping the display brightness high so that any HDR content can maintain its brighter highlights also I'm not sure why this next one wasn't possible on the previous galaxies but the s24 ultra can now switch between all rear camera lenses when recording at 4K with 60 FPS this apparently wasn't possible before even on the s23 ultra so that's a plus a downside about the Galaxy s24 phones though is that they still don't support seamless updates if you're not sure what this is it's an Android feature first introduced back in 2016 where it allows firmware updates to be installed and on a secondary partition while the phone remains in use this eliminates downtime between firmware updates to a single reboot after which the secondary partition becomes the main one and the update has already been completed the Google pixels have had this for a while so I'm hoping that Samsung also hops on board one day what the s24 series has hopped on and pretty much any Samsung phone that upgrades to 1ui 6.1 is Bluetooth LE audio broadcast this feature lets you broadcast any media you're listening to with any nearby devices that support AOC cast to access this you just go into the settings go into Bluetooth bloo tap on the three dots in the top right corner broadcast sound using AOC cast and you can start broadcasting another NE addition is that you can now enable chomecast mirroring within the Smart View app that comes on the Galaxy s24 phones in other words you can mirror your screen on any chomecast device before you will need to jump into a hidden developer options page to enable this but now it's front and center anyways tap this video to check out even
