you do the show with jason bateman yeah and who's a funny guy and he does a good job on the show i guess your words yeah yeah but how do you like working with him because he seems like a funny guy what's it what's the dynamic batman you know he brings he's been in the business a long time the kid grew up in the business we've all seen him uh and uh you know so every once in a while i'll be working they'll yell cut and everybody kind of fills in to give notes or whatever and bateman will say you know i think and i'll just be like hey listen man if we wanted your advice we'll turn on a crappy 80s sitcom all right what are you talking about that's terrible is it yes no thanks he's great he's he's he's on our show he's his sister is apparently going to come on the show now justine is going to do a guest appearance that's that's what we keep hearing and i keep hearing it from bateman because he keeps bringing it up like he's super psyched about her playing his love interest oh my god i know i know it's just it's just every day is like i know i know that we're not doing it now but can we rehearse i know incredible i'm dead serious about this you're a strange magical man you're a magical man he's gonna kill me yeah he's gonna love it you're in so much trouble now there's a rumor that you're gonna have a love interest on the show coming up that might get people watching well i have been pitching um my beloved sister to come on as my love interest [Applause] because maybe she'd be like a like a religious zealot right where she doesn't want any touch he touchy or anything until we get married so there'd be clever ways around it yes perhaps one would think now this has been this has been leaked to the press yes um and so mitch is a little soft on the idea now right now uh let's talk about this there seems to be a bit of a feud going on with you and your co-star jason bateman on the show arrest development you guys are having some kind of a feud uh fight anger whatever well we last time i was on the show here a few months back i i i he he was mad at me a little bit mad because because he's like you know you mentioned that that i wanted that he wanted his sister to come on play his love interest on the show and and i justine basically justine bayman and i feel like i'm not making it all i did was open a door to truth you know what i mean like i'm not here i'm not here to judge he wants to do that that's cool you know most people call it incest whatever you call it hot fine semantics you know what i mean um so so i just now he feels like he's getting back to me because he and amy are doing a movie this is the thing he's doing a movie with your wife now and he wants to get back at you so he's been he's been saying like hey guy you know your your wife and i are going to have to get all over each other you know and all this sort of and i'm like look man you know it's that'd be like it'd be like richard simmons threatening to hit on your lady like you don't you're not threatened by jason bateman dude it's like if amy's hungry she's not going to go for a half meal you know what i mean she's going to line up with the buffet you know what i mean and that's and that's you're a terrible man no but you know oh yeah you know people speak truth and then they're they're bad yeah yeah uh jason bateman you happy to be working with your old pal jason bateman again i love jason he's great to work with i tell you if i always if there were a premium to be paid on bad ideas i'd want drilling rights to his head what's the dickiest thing i've ever heard how is that no i love them [Laughter] and you and bateman have a company together is it what is it called dum-dum it's called dum-dum uh and uh we do we we're we do really good stuff um what do you do you do uh you have an office you guys i don't know i don't really know and jason loves going to the office he goes in there and takes lunch meetings and stuff and he's very uh industrious about it all and so one day before i knew he was in there i i had somebody put in a pho our desks face each other yeah and um and then i had somebody put something in our office right behind my desk that he has to look at all day i think i think you brought a picture of this this is behind her [Laughter] i saw photos of you and your good friend mr jason bateman hanging out together paparazzi photos and uh these are real and i think you should probably explain there's a series of them here i think i thought there was more than one but i don't know oh there you go that's nice look at her yeah look at her there she is yeah what happened here describe what happened clearly you're uh yeah we're walking uh down the street in new york and so we just thought and then you know in new york sometimes the the paparazzi guys they ride around on bikes and they run they ride ahead of you and then they get to the end of the block and they start snapping pics and they want to get you like you know picking your nose or whatever and i said the babe and i said you know let's let's have fun at their expense and just grabbed his hand which he was way too cool with you think he was like he seemed to be going really like sweaty palms i'll just say that and um and i feel like his internal monologue was finally um but uh yeah yeah i can tell that you're acting but he's totally in it i think it's really we try i wanted to make it look like we were just two you know just two guys out just doing a little afternoon shopping in the village which is actually what we were doing here's the joke on by the way you can tell by the photo i'm on the top pretty clear obvi obvi is that short for obvious i don't know we have these photos that were taken and i actually asked willownet about this but it's you oh look at bill arnett there he is walking in new york city and the paparazzi caught you to uh holding hands uh now will will maintains that he told me that you guys saw the paparazzi and staged this um is that that's correct i suppose well looking for real estate yeah where were you look were you looking for a pla a place were you looking for a apartment we were you were we were we were wanna talk about a little bit uh will's a bit of a homophobe um he's um he's he's he's not yet confident to go ahead and kick the door down i tell him closets are for clothes and he tells me no i'm gonna stay in it um but we're uh we're uh we're sweet on each other i think is what you guys like each other and um i saw a loft that would probably fit fit me and the kids and him and his kids and um he says we were doing paparazzi but um but in fact we were on a little bit of a real estate hunt there um you you guys are going to get a place together you're going to get i think i think will arnett is one of the best human beings on the planet i think he fills out a white v-neck like no one's business he does look good yeah and you've got shoulders like a hanger yeah you know um so uh so more arrested development would be great just so that i can be back with my beloved okay i'm glad you got that off your chest yeah that's really nice we're going to take a quick look at watching honey number's the same arrest development people obviously love the show coming back exciting news will it be will it be the entire cast is everyone coming back the whole cast um uh sadly even bateman and um we tried to keep that real quiet and he picked up on it i guess you tried to have an arrested development reunion without baiting yeah i mean we tried our damnedest i'll tell you what we uh hilarious oh my god when it comes out that's what you're saying yeah and he uh you know he's just i got i love him he's just so bland and and um and uh it's just the way to keep him in line you know because he he's just got to he he can get you know him you both know him he can get a little big-headed you know and um that's actually not true he's such a sweet guy i just do it totally to torture him can i tell him it's just off time just a true jason bateman story you know what he actually said last night what'd he say he said we had dinner and he said what's what's netflix and chill and i said hey granddad cool he's for real he didn't know what netflix and show he had no idea he goes oh so were you netflix and chill and i was like yeah well it's like a it can mean just hang out but it also can mean you know come over and you know let's get it home you know so you stopped everything to slam jason bateman again i just remembered after you humiliated him earlier thank you thank wow you're a great crowd yeah this is a great crowd this is the handsomest crowd i've ever seen oh incredible incredible and no fans abatement here i'll tell you that much right now good anti-bateman american yeah how is your your good pal you talk about them all the time and you guys have been buddies forever and i'm talking about mr jason bateman you guys we have there he is we always get a picture of him ready to go that's what i mean how is he why because wow yeah talk about a lukewarm reception this guy his new nickname might be luke uh no he's pretty he's pretty good i guess uh what do you mean you guess i don't know i try to i i he's like he's a ding ding ding i'm like what what do you want this guy's texting me up and hitting me up all the time i'll tell you a funny story and this very relatable i got a new car very fancy car yeah a little while ago uh german yeah and uh rhymes with orsch yeah and um nothing makes you sound more relatable so yeah so anyway so years ago jason was driving around in a in a similar car his was a porsche yeah yeah and uh so he gave me a ride to the airport which i i still don't know why he was giving me a ride to the airport but put it this way he's got a lot of time on his hands but he give me a ride and we're driving this is a true story as we're driving he goes does this um does this car kind of make me look like an [ __ ] and i said yeah it does yeah so so it was like not long after that he got rid of it and then you got rid of it just because you said i don't know if you got rid of but he did kind of he was like i don't think it's a god it's kind of dicky or whatever so years later i told him i said you know i just ordered this new car with a portion he goes you told me i looked like an [ __ ] driving and go you did right now wait a minute i uh your friend jason bateman i think had some uh good luck recently or some good fortune he became the voice of hyundai he is the voice of hyundai yeah which is good good for him it's a good brand for him it's it's but uh so you know i i get it for bateman though it makes sense he's the voice of hyundai with you know sensible compact you know good parking at the mall you know what i mean like just the stuff the kind of thing is the brand stuff about when you think about bait when you think of those things yeah it's sensible and for me i represent you know north american know-how and toughness and grit and you know and and hauling capability yeah yeah i don't know i don't know if you know this about me yeah but i can haul andre you can i look at this guy and i think this guy can haul

Check out the podcast “Smartless”. The two of them do it with Sean Hayes. I’ve always thought Will Arnett is funny, but this podcast shows how quick witted he is.

If anyone remotely enjoys Conan or Will, id highly, highly recommend you take an hour and listen to Conan Needs a Friend. It's his podcast and the episode with Will is fantastic. He has about 50 episodes now? They're golden. Especially so when he's talking to other comedians about the craft, writing for SNL and the Simpsons, and making fun of his production crew. It's seriously so good. My favourite is the Arnett episode but the one with Bill Hader is fucking funny.

There's something about American talk shows that are just so forced, conan seems like a nice guy but whenever I see clips like this it's just painful to watch.
