NMN is a very popular supplement which claim to have anti aging property is it true? let's investigate first let's talk about a substance called NAD or NAD+ it is an important co-enzyme which facilitate in important cellular metabolism, energy production and DNA repair NMN is the precursor of NAD; if you take NMN it is converted to NAD in your body therefore it has been postulated that NMN can have a variety of anti aging effect in human and some researches showed that in laboratory obese or diabetic mice have improved glucose control when they took NMN old mice taking NMN have better nerve cells in their brains and better muscle rejuvenation aging of heart blood vessels seem to be slowed it sounds promising doesn't it? but the problem is in scientific research you cannot extrapolate the results in laboratory animals into humans without solid evidence if NMN works in mice it doesn't necessarily mean it will work in human because human is not mice they are different this is because in evidence based medicine doctors would only trust a substance is effective only if many double blinded controlled tried prove that this is the case in the history of medical development many drugs have been very promising in animals only to be discorded when serious problems are seen in human trials so what are the current evidence of NMN in human? suffice to say there is not enough evidence to show similar beneficial effects as in mice I do think NMN research may yield very useful drugs which help prevent age related diseases and current research has shown it is well tolerated by human and is well absorbed and in the short term NMN seems safe for human consumption and long term safety data is lacking; it seems very strange to me people are so skeptical of mRNA vaccine yet is not concerned with the safety of NMN in conclusion NMN is a breakthrough in the study of human aging but at the moment it is too early to say NMN has significant anti aging effect remember food contains NMN as well examples include tomatoes, avocados, brocoli and mushroom you can try to consume more of these exercise can raise NAD in the body and exercise can definitely prevent diabetes and strokes which ensure one lives longer thanks for watching and I'll see you soon
