I've been living in the UK for over one and a half year I live in a small town in the south of England my experience may differ from those living in the cities when you migrate you should know every place has its pros and cons and you may encounter new problems when moving to a new place some people think in UK every man is a gentleman and every women a lady this is not true; on the surface people in UK are more courteous than people in Hong Kong and driving manner is better here but there are quite a lot of people who behave badly and many people don't understand what the world outside UK is like you should understand UK is no longer an empire and she is not the wealthiest of the developed world many people worried about cost of living very few people cares what happens in the wider world Hong Kong people travel widely so they are more aware of international affairs and we understand English therefore most of us have a reasonable understanding of the West People from the West don't know our languages so most of them have very limited understanding or our people and culture most still have stereotype impression of asian people most people in UK are concerned about cost of fuels, rent and tuition only some Hong Kong parents think having their children studying in UK state school is like studying in international school for a much lower fee but the quality of most state schools in UK is not comparable to schools in Hong Kong the better state schools like grammar schools are similar to band 2 schools in Hong Kong only a few prestigious boarding schools are in par with good schools in Hong Kong most state school would not put a lot of stress on students but in order to get in good universities very good academic performance is a must if your children do not put in effort this would be an impossible task and I would say the UK economy is not that good at the moment which is made worse by Brexit salary is low and tax is high; disposable income is very low the cost of living is high eg gas/electricity water etc public transport is expensive; if I take the train from where I live to London which is about 1 hour journey; the highest fee can be over 40 pounds for a return trip in any case this would be a significant expenditure of course there are upsides living in the UK I can walk for 30 mins and I am surrounded by green rolling hills streams and rivers and water meadows everywhere there are muddy walking trails with beautiful scenery yet you would need a pair of good Wellington boots to enjoy it there are farms and you can buy fresh eggs from farm shops and you can always drive in those nice winding country roads in you car in terms of food as in recent years many Chinese and Hong Kongers migrate to UK the restaurants they open offer original and sometimes excellent Chinese food in London you can often find lovely little restaurants opened by Japanese the down side is that they are much more expensive than in Hong Kong however as you live here for some time you will like to cook at home thanks for watching the first edition of my new book has sold out and the second edition is being printed it contains handy and simple tips on the handing of insomnia, eczema, depression and various chronic diseases give me a thumb up and subscribe to my channel; bye
