I was considering one of these as a KTM alternative until I learned it doesn't have an e start

I had a YZ250 for years, basically turned it into an x. Will always love that platform, light, playful, precise, and awesome for anything other than hard enduro. But after switching to an orange 300, I just can't go back until they incorporate estart and a counterbalancer into their design. The steel frame and better ergos also make for a much less fatiguing ride. They could do it, but I just don't think the Japanese are interested in developing 2 strokes further. And to be fair, the hard enduro market is probably small compared to the Mx market, so they don't have a big incentive to invest in technology that won't be broadly marketable. Now if they can make a lighter, more stall resistant 4 stroke with suspension set up for enduro out of the box, I'd be interested. Especially since the price of the euro bikes is just skyrocketing.

I really like Yamaha, and the color blue. But unfortunately it makes no sense when it comes to enduro. The Yamaha is not there yet, more money than a KTM/Beta/Sherco/Husky/gas gas after all the modifications needed to get it to an out of the box euro bike. get a KTM and throw some blue plastics/graphics on it, that’s my plan.

When the Japanese manufacturers get serious about making an enduro bike, it will blow past the euro bikes. But not there yet. I don’t believe they have really begun in termed off resource allocation

Probably rides like a dirt bike, which is just fine

so this is richard the same one i tested a few months ago but since then he's put a couple thousand dollars worth of upgrades into this fight a lot of which is to try and make it a more enduro or trail friendly bike so i'm going to test it today and see if i think it's more of an enduro bike now so right off the bat the suspension has been done by suspension works three valve front and back i'm a big fan of the kyb stuff but as for my suspension tuner on the yamaha they kind of set up more motocross style so i know that he's worked his magic my suspension works on this life and yeah it's feeling good a lot more flush [Music] so performance-wise this bike's got uh one two smaller on the front and it's got a new high performance head should make it more trail worthy still feels really snappy to me it's pretty big stuff coming up here nice and flowy the last time i tried this bike was on some pretty slow technical stuff but today we're on some more flowy stuff i think it would suit the ammo a little better it's really wet and slick in here we've got an 1881 ex gummy tire on the rear m-59 on the front tubeless front and back it's like dunlop rear tire is really good probably one of the best gummies out there although it's a little expensive but then do they hook up this bike seems to like that a little bit faster trails third gear i find first and second there's really short lug around in third not bad though yeah so the suspension is a huge improvement over this stock valving that's the thing about these kybs is that even if the bike manufacturer doesn't set it up to your liking there's so much room mike is soaking up the chop a lot more it's turning better too hmm wow [Music] so this bike's got these new handlebars by astra they're actually a local company they had uh chris burch actually helps him design some of them so with the sweep of these bars you're supposed to put your body into more of an aggressive riding position it's a pretty interesting design these new handlebars i'm actually going to put a set on my bike so look for a full review on the aster bars in the future i actually think the yamaha does log a little bit better now with this head at first i wasn't convinced it's not bad there this is the kind of trail that's really fun on this yz250x fast and flowing bike seems to be most at home on this kind of terrain now that the suspension's done this bike is turning really well feeling a bit more nimble throwing on me a little bit must admit so overall it's a pretty solid platform biggest strength is the suspension because it can be tuned to be phenomenal overall i'd still pick most of the european bikes with e-start but it's pretty fun bike to ride for sure you
