I was considering one of these as a KTM alternative until I learned it doesn't have an e start
I had a YZ250 for years, basically turned it into an x. Will always love that platform, light, playful, precise, and awesome for anything other than hard enduro. But after switching to an orange 300, I just can't go back until they incorporate estart and a counterbalancer into their design. The steel frame and better ergos also make for a much less fatiguing ride. They could do it, but I just don't think the Japanese are interested in developing 2 strokes further. And to be fair, the hard enduro market is probably small compared to the Mx market, so they don't have a big incentive to invest in technology that won't be broadly marketable. Now if they can make a lighter, more stall resistant 4 stroke with suspension set up for enduro out of the box, I'd be interested. Especially since the price of the euro bikes is just skyrocketing.
I really like Yamaha, and the color blue. But unfortunately it makes no sense when it comes to enduro. The Yamaha is not there yet, more money than a KTM/Beta/Sherco/Husky/gas gas after all the modifications needed to get it to an out of the box euro bike. get a KTM and throw some blue plastics/graphics on it, thatβs my plan.
When the Japanese manufacturers get serious about making an enduro bike, it will blow past the euro bikes. But not there yet. I donβt believe they have really begun in termed off resource allocation
Probably rides like a dirt bike, which is just fine
