You Can Play PS5 on the Quest 3! (New Method)

you can play PS5 games on your quest 3 and today I'm going to show you how to do it first a few things you're going to need a PS5 obviously a quest 3 pretty obvious too and a PC of any kind it doesn't have to be anything fancy just so that we can enable developer mode on the quest 3 and side load an application now that sounds a little bit difficult but it's actually extremely easy and I'm going to walk you through step by step but first let me show you some gameplay of PS5 games running on the quest 3 on a giant screen so you can see how well it works and just get a feel for the overall experience let's check it out with some brand new Spider-Man 2 gameplay on the giant screen on the quest 3 right now all right here we are on the quest 3 and here is Spider-Man 2 on the PS5 I have not played this game yet we're going to boot it up together and see how this goes one quick thing is unfortunately the game audio does not record when you recording on the quest 3 even though I can hear it so we're just going to skip around and show you how it plays and then I'll show you how it's done wow this looks fantastic the resolution of this looks really good oh my this looks really good I thought it looked got on the quest too and there's no latency it just feels so good oh I just realized we were in Brooklyn this City's even bigger than it was before holy crap I just sorry I just can't get over how good this looks and feels having two Spider-Man swinging around together is just awesome this the scale of this game is so crazy imagine getting a VR game like this nice that's awesome boy we're really flying here we just got to take out Sam man that's the that's the thing right now he's come on oh that's not good all right I'm going to go ahead and fight against these guys and defeat Sandman I hope but let's go ahead and I'm going to show you how to actually get all this running on your quest three but first let's hear from today's sponsor Guardians front line Guardians of the PS5 running on the quest 3 the pass through makes it way better than when I did this with the Quest 2 and a lot more fun with those pancake lenses and the higher resolution but now how do you do this the first thing you need to do is set up a developer account head to oculus.com you're then going to need to log in with your meta account once you're logged in click on the my apps button at the top of the page then you need to create an organization but in order to do that you actually have to verify your account you can either do that by entering a payment method or by enabling two Factor ithen ification whichever you choose to do verify your account and when that's done you go up to the drop down box on the top left hand side and you're going to hit create to create a new organization next you need to name the organization it really doesn't make a difference what you name it as long as it's not something that's already in use so name your organization then you're got to click create you're going to do some check boxes agree to some terms and conditions and make sure everything's created once that's all done head into the meta Quest app make sure you're next to your quest 3 or your quest 2 if you're doing it on a quest 2 or a quest Pro go ahead and tap on the menu button at the bottom and then you're going to tap on devices find your device tap on that meta Quest 3 or whatever device you're using and then then you need to head down to headset settings at the bottom and you'll see a new menu option that probably wasn't there before tap on developer mode and then make sure that that switch is pushed to the right and is blue that means that developer mode is enabled the next thing we have to do is actually get some software to allow us to play those PS5 games on our Quest 3 and we're going to use an Android application to do that and I'm not going to tell you where to get it or how to get it you'll have to do some Google searching for that but it's called PS playay and we need an APK in order to inst install on the quest 3 please support the developer and buy this software on the Android store for an Android device if you're going to do this I've done this in a couple of devices and bought the software because the developer is amazing and I wanted to support them but make sure you buy this software and then you'll have to do some hunting to find an APK for PS play once you find an APK download it on your computer speaking of computers you're not going to need like some gaming PC simple laptop or computer will work just fine you just need to be able to download and connect to your quest to it once you've downloaded that APK you need to download some additional software called side quest head to the link in the description and download side quest make sure you download the advanced version because we're going to need that to side load apks once you've downloaded side quest install it and now it's time to connect your quest three to your PC now if you did not enable developer mode you're going to get an error here it's going to tell you that it's not authorized to actually access the device when you connect it if you've got developer mode enabled put the headset on and click all always allow for this device that'll allow you to connect your quest to your PC and do different things with side quest including s side loading Android apks once you've got everything set up and your quest connected you're going to hit this button up in the top right hand corner with a down arrow that'll install an APK find the program you downloaded click on it and install it onto your quest okay now before we move into the headset let's set something up on your PS5 head to your PS5 you're going to go into the settings menu go to settings and then system go down to remote and make sure that remote play is turned on and leave your PS5 on because we're going to need something in here in just a minute next put on your quest 3 and in order to access apks that we've installed separately from the quest store you're going to H on the search box then the drop- down button and go down to unknown sources you're going to see PS play here make sure you click on that it'll open the Android application one thing I recommend doing here once you're all said and done is actually changing the view style so that when the application opens you can have a big wide screen instead of a close-up screen that's totally up to you but you could do that by hitting the quick settings button and then changing the view of the menu okay open up the PS play on the quest 3 once it's opened up you'll have to acknowledge a couple of things and check some boxes before you can actually move into the software the next thing we have to do is register our PS5 with this software there's a couple of ways to do this the easiest way is to just log in with your PlayStation credentials sometimes that doesn't work if it doesn't work the app has some information that'll walk you through how to do it the easiest way is just to log in with your PlayStation credentials in order to do that you have to go into that same menu on your PS5 and click link device it's going to give you a registration code enter that into the application and hit register then it'll prompt you to log in to your PlayStation account this will connect the account so that you can stream from your PS5 to this app on your quest 3 enter your information hit log in it'll do a whole bunch of registration stuff and then it's going to pop up and actually say do you want to configure your router before you move on on you can try to do this in my experience it does not work properly all this is for is if you want a remote play over the Internet which I have not figured out yet it's supposed to work but it will not work on my system once everything's all registered I recommend changing some settings in the settings menu because this is such a massive screen in your quest 3 I recommend going to the hamburger menu and clicking on settings and then the streaming settings and changing the resolution to the highest resolution that your network will support the PS5 really should be directly connected to a router if it's not you might have some problems with latency and with everything connecting properly on your quest 3 to your PS5 so if you can directly hardwire to your router I recommend doing that but I changed the resolution to 1080p I think it's natively set at 540 which is really low when you have a screen this big right in front of your face then you're going to go back to the main menu you're going to hit local connection once you hit that it's going to go through the process just like the official Remote Play app for PlayStation of connected to your PlayStation and once it connects you'll be all set right well sort of it's it's pretty much done but the next thing we have to do is actually allow our app to play with our PS5 controller and right now the only way to do that is actually directly connected with a USBC chord from your PS5 controller to your quest 3 port on the side Bluetooth doesn't seem to work so you'll have to connect hardwire to your quest 3 which really isn't that big of a deal it actually allows for things like the haptic triggers and the touchpad to work so it's well worth the trade-off of not using Bluetooth using the direct connection now once that's all said and done you'll have to allow the software to use the PS5 controller and then you can control your PS5 remotely inside your quester with your controller and play whatever games you want there is one caveat to this okay you have to have headphones on you have to actually have hardwired headphones connected to the headphone jack because otherwise the sound will come through the controller or it'll try to connect that as a USBC audio device and you won't get any sound at all now if you don't get any sound once your headphones are plugged in initially go back into the settings menu you're going to scroll all the way down in the streaming settings to the bottom nearly where it says audio change the audio settings from Auto to standard that should allow the headphones to pick up audio if they don't do that automatically now I know that's some extra steps but once it's set up you don't need to do it again just keep in mind you need those headphones on to actually make this work and then that is finally it now you can actually play PS5 on your quest 3 with audio with the PS5 controller including haptics and all the fun Jazz that comes with PS5 controllers and you can do it anywhere in your house as long as you're connected to your Wi-Fi connection well there you go that is how to play PS5 on a quest 3 it's kind of a process but once it's done it's ready to go and you don't have to do it again this just a matter of opening the application connecting your controller and your audio and running along with some
