[Music] hey everybody hope you guys healthy and safe you're watching Ultra I camera footage for the xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Vivo X100 Pro and I'm in Tokyo Japan right now I'm actually in Shibuya which is the busiest nightlife District of Japan but uh right now it's 6:45 a.m. so there's nobody out yet in fact this street that I'm walking right now it's near my Airbnb it's actually home for having love hotels so love hotels if you don't know they are hotels that rent by the hour not per night and there for people to come uh come get busy you know without needing to go all the way home let me switch to the main camera okay you're watching main camera footage both of these are 1in sensors so you should be able to see some really strong natural bouquet but the sensor in the xiaomi 14 Ultra is newer it's the Sony Lea 900 it's the next generation of the IMX 989 that's in the look right here girls bar be noisy the xiaomi 1in is the next generation of the 1 in that's used in the vi X100 Pro on top of that the xiaomi 14 Ultra has a variable aperture that can switch between f1.6 and F4 whereas Vivo is stuck at just one aperture like f1.6 I believe but feo's software processing has been Best in Class for several years now so I'm excited to take a lot of photos and videos and just see how they compare so one thing I really like with both of these phones is that there's so many filters and LS now so it makes it look like a film camera so like this T miss one looks really good let me grab a [Music] video and of course Vivo has a lot too but Vivo you do have to jump into Cinema portrait mode and then tap right here to then get through all the different filters and lights so that means in the main camera mode you don't have as many options as the xiaomi 14 Ultra but the Vivo one is also really good all right let's get a couple shots right here cuz we have the sun shining through okay so on the xiaomi 14 Ultra there's a Mode called fast shot which allows you to quickly cycle through all the filters and adjust exposure right here on Vivo you don't have such a mode so you either have to go to manual mode or portrait mode so looking at these photos one thing I noticed is that xiaomi's colors are just a little bit more natural it keeps the Shadows a little bit darker whereas Vivo shots are just a little bit over brightened are you watching Ultra wi video footage right now Tower Records no music no lives you're watching the Periscope Zoom LS of both phones right now so 5x with xiaomi 4.3x with Vivo okay so right now I'm walking to get coffee from this place called ver coffee roaster go up these steps so I'm going to kind of jog up and see how stabilization is so main camera footage right now I'm kind of slow jogging oh man Tokyo is nice our favorite city in the world okay here it is verf coffee roasters so I see the xiaomi is adjusting exposure a little bit better than the Vivo we have this guy right here both of these cameras are so damn good these shots of this cute Shea is so good but I do think if you pixel peep xiaomi's images tend to have a little bit more details but then when we move to Portrait shots I think rvo has a decisive Edge xiaomi's portrait system sometimes looks good sometimes the focus is completely off like for example look at these two shots the focus on the Vivo shot is perfect if you look at the xiaomi shot it messes up the focus around the steel railing around the driver when it comes to Long Zoom both phones are really good but I think xiaomi does have the edge because it has a longer reach so it has a stronger base when you're doing things like 30X and 10x as for Zoom land stabilization xiaomi's 5x Zoom actually doesn't stabilize too well but then when you back out to the 3.2x tell lens the stabilization is much better okay you're now watching main camera footage with both phones at night okay this is the rare case in which I prefer xiaomi's portrait more vivos as for selfies both cameras are pretty good but xiaomi can shoot in 4k whereas Vivo cannot okay I just finished eating sushi now I'm going to go next door and eat Curry that's what I like about Asia the meals are slightly small portion compared to the US and they're also a lot cheaper so I can eat backto back meals I can try more things okay I'm now filming with that kind of hipstery vintage filter cinematic L with both phones like that's Cinema effect both phones are doing some digital B right now obviously xiaomi's variable aperture comes into play when you're trying to take pictures of things that are a little bit longer like for example there's a bunch kicks here right if I shoot with wide open F6 and then I go up to F4 you'll see that the F4 shot most of the kicks are in Focus was the f1.6 the background is blurred out with the Vivo X100 Pro I can't really choose if I snap the shot it has to have really strong Bou so the kicks in the back are going to be blurred out no matter what all right so I'm going to zooming that that sign that's just support your local girl gang how's it looking on both of them now they both look pretty good so right now you're watching both Zoom lands right now 3.2 with the xiaomi 4.3 with the V generally speaking for main cameras I think the xiaomi 14 Ultra consistently produces more aesthetically pleasing shadows and colors it keeps it a little bit more natural Vivo tends to brighten up everything a little bit too much but then when it comes to more difficult dynamic range scenes like shots with a lot of lights then I think ev's HDR is just better than xiaomi so it's very close okay it is the next day 6:00 a.m. again I'm just walking around trying to find coffee I just love walkable cities man it it really makes me feel active when I can just step out of the apartment and start walking around so anyway the shami 14 Ultra I think after thorough testing over multiple days I think we can see that the vi X100 Pro actually keeps very very close in terms of photography xiaomi's camera Hardware is better but I think vivo's software is a little bit more polished still including HDR H in portraits with that said though I think the xiaomi 14 Ultra camera Hardware definitely has a stronger base to start and also has a higher ceiling as a result so that means if you are someone who like to do Post photo edit if you want to play with photos in Lightroom you want to shoot in raw and make edits I think the xiaomi 14 ultra's photos will give you a little bit more leeway to make edits but it is close and considering the fact that the xiaomi 14 Ultra is a much pricier phone than a VI X100 Pro this is yet another very strong showing from vivo's camera cam team but there's more to a phone than just camera system I definitely like the xiaomi 14 ultra's Hardware more I think this design is definitely more modern than the vi S100 Pro with that quad curved screen and the wider than usual frame it has a better chip qualcom Snapdragon hn3 against the mediate Tech dimensity chip and also hyper OS is much better than fun touch OS now if this oneone had original OS it would be another story but it does not so yeah I think at least for the next couple weeks and month I will put my sim carard my main Sim c car into the shami 14 Ultra and use this as my main phone the Sim had been in here for the past like 3 4 months now because no other phone could top it but now the xiaomi 14 Ultra arguably has a camera system that is a little bit better and it's just a little bit better in all the other areas too so I will be using this guy I do a xiaomi would improve the portrait mode because I think vivo's portrait mode is just better right now like flat out so yeah that's about it for this video I hope you enjoy this content if you did please subscribe to my channel I have a lot more coming I'm actually going to Malaysia for another tech event so there there going to be more stuff on that and then I have some Apple products in the pipeline too so stay tuned thanks for watching
