hey everyone Brandi here for Go Midwest fishing thanks for watching if you have one of these then you probably have one of these if you have one of these you probably have lots of these not average these things cost just over three bucks a bottle this one here even has a tag on it says $4.99 I'm gonna show you how to get these for less than one dollar each by refilling them safely and legally at home alright first I'm going to show you the old way of doing this first you get one of these adapters here then you get your propane tank screw the adapter into the propane tank then you're gonna take your little propane tank and screw down in it after making sure this valve is closed okay then you flip this whole tank upside down then you get under here and open the valve on the big tank now the problem is this little tanks gonna pressurize it's not gonna feel very full some people suggest putting it in the freezer and then this bottle being cold they'll feel a little faster and it may feel a little bit but not still I can fill all the way the other option is you take a little needle nose pliers and on the tops of these models right here you got a little relief valve and by pulling on that it lets out the air so it's able to fill it up with more propane the problem is trying to get under here I can't quite get at it here because this builds in the way and you also have to make sure that it's facing the top otherwise propane is just going to spill off the bottom it's really a hard complicated and unsafe way to do this alright here is the safe easy and legal way to do it this is a flame King refillable cylinder kit comes with you got a stand the cover for your small propane tank a nozzle and comes with one refillable tank this kit here cost between 40 and 50 dollars depending on when and where you buy it I think I got it on sale for like 43 dollars comes with one refillable tank you're gonna want to get a couple of those I bought this one for 1699 I bought this at a small bait shop so it's gonna cost a little more I found them online for as low as 13 95 and although they are a little more expensive remember they are reusable so you buy one and you keep it forever refill it as much as you want and if you compare this tank with one of these you'll all set it is made a little heavier maybe a little thicker metal and of your duty made it's made to be refilled these are actually hazardous waste and it says right on the label her here says never refill the cylinder refilling may cause explosion federal law prohibits transportation if refilled penalty up to $500,000 a fine and five years of prison now I'm sure the propane police aren't out there looking for you refill in this thing but say this did explode if somebody got hurt you destroyed some property you can be in some serious trouble by doing this so let's just do it the easier way by getting one of these alright let's open the box and see what's inside all right first we get an important warning here before using refill kit go to its website and review the instructions and video so apparently they show you how to delivery on their website okay this is everything that comes in the box including the one propane tank here it's not a whole lot but it really doesn't need to be all right let's put this thing together don't look too complicated every I'm standing I'll put together propane tanks on the stand this box contains the nozzle so I'll put together step it out of the bag that's all it is right it will screws on like any other attachment okay just gonna want to make sure this nozzle here is pointing downward take one of your propane cylinders take your top off it make sure kind of nice little tops little handles easy to grab them and it comes with a little allen wrench here there's a little screw right here that you're gonna use on the Allen wrench and that's your bleeder screw so it can let air out as its refilling another thing to know is that there is a little notch in here you can see this little notch right there there's also a little tab inside of here alright in case you're wondering can I refill these with this system well that little notch I'm here lines it's a little tab in here and this doesn't have that so you want to allow this to actually attach to that nozzle so they already thought of that one alright so just look at this little tail yeah when it lines up it screws right on all right for instructions so this here said going to flame King comm slash refillable and they mean it because there are no instructions in the box I just go quick and watch it online to make sure I was going to do it right so I already did that and one thing I noticed when I went on the website there was a recall notice luckily it was it was for these bottles that they leak around here and the serial number is right on the front of the bottle here so you show the serial numbers that were affected and luckily the ones I got are not affected look just like the very first ones they made so uh could you get one of these check the serial number go on their website make sure it it's not one that's been recalled put the allen wrench and the screw then you turn on the propane tank and then turn the bleeder screw press the snap when you start seeing some flakes won't come out of there that's 80% full then you can stop right there shooting out there close a little bleeder valve again turn the tank off unscrew your bottle will be a little residual propane in this nozzle here so that's gonna squirt out you want to do this outdoors or somewhere vented garage door open right now so I've got a nice breeze blowing through here yep it's cold and it's definitely full you can feel its weight it's great to cover back on there we go you can also spray a little soapy water on there if you want to make sure it's not leaking the instructions also say don't leave this big 20-pound tank upside down for more than 10 minutes so if you do this process do a quick look for bag over all right there you have it if you've been refilling your own propane tanks at home I highly encourage you to go ahead and get this refillable one it's much safer and it's way easier and it's legal all right if you like fishing you'll have to check out my website at Gold Midwest fishing comm you got a bunch of interesting articles some good videos and I also do some like reviews so every time I go fishing I document the lake in great detail and I post it to my website check back often as I keep adding links every time I go up fishing so thanks for watching I'll catch you later [Music]
