he was the doctor of bellevue's late pastor pastor adrian rogers and he told me that he said um he said he would tell pastor said pastor you go and come back too quick he said you need at least a month because it takes you two weeks to just simmer down because we're still in that work ministry mode it took me a while just to quit dealing with problems and issues and decisions that i had to make and you really don't start resting till the last two weeks and i know it's been some folk that said ain't he coming back when he coming back you know so thank you for that i figured this way i preach twice every sunday most pastors preach just one time they get one time two week vacation so since i do two services i deserve whole week vacation come on talk to me somebody so thank y'all so much me and my wife and even my daughter we had a lovely time we've been to um dallas texas we've been to um branson missouri we've been to nashville tennessee and then back home on the final week and so thank you all for just being patient uh no bible study this week because uh i am preparing you know when i come back i have to deal with a lot of business a lot of stuff on the table phone calls and whenever a farmer sows he's looking for a harvest many people just give you something but they are not sowing so when you're sowing you're looking for a return and you're looking for a harvest so this year i want you to go a little bit further i'm going to share the vision of what we want to do with your sowing um that and you'll be hearing about that in the coming weeks those of you that are we love you god bless you give them a hand as they go hey i'm going to share with you um we've been hearing so much about um different things that are coming um in the coming months i shared with you a prophetic word the other week from a pastor coverstone and then this week i saw on sid roth another prophet speaking almost the exact same thing so there are some things that are coming on the horizon and they're not the most pleasant thing but the difference that i heard in the gentleman this week who i could tell was spirit filled he talked about he said yeah these things are on the horizon he said but the church has the ability to take their christ-given authority and to resist it and to stop it if the church will pray that's a big if if the church will pray now i don't know how many god gonna need in order to pray if it's gonna take in a million of us or maybe a hundred thousand but i don't know only god knows the number but i definitely want us to be involved i made it available for you online to get a prayer um booklet that would give you guidance on the prayers that you need to pray you don't have to pray all of them in one time two or three a day and then all i got one big one at the end that summarizes all of the main parts so you can use that as your guide but from the prophetic words that i'm hearing and i'm hearing so many it is evident that something is definitely on the horizon because too many prophets are saying the same thing i encourage you to get you some possible survival needs uh because the last one that i'm talking about said which was this past week he said we got about two or three more weeks he said it's good to get you some little supplies what that mean i don't know you know in terms of what's going to happen in order for us to have to do that i can't tell you that but it's just good to have a little extra thing because once if another about one of the things i've heard is that another strain of virus is getting ready to hit that is supposed to be worse than what we have had and when stuff like that happens then everybody is going to rush the stores and so i what he's trying to do is get the body of christ ready to get ahead and then to also be thinking about blessing somebody else that may not have you know the privilege of what you have but we do know something is going to happen uh possibly more rioting more tax threats made during the elections cities burning financial shortages food shortages people losing wealth and we've heard all of that but i just want to encourage you to pray more than anything else for the nation for the nation for all of us uh for those all who are in authority at any government level um because the the enemy got some things planned but there is a place that god has for those of us who know him and love him and that place is called goshen i can tell that's a little odd for you now i preached this about three four months ago kind of in the early days of the virus and um i i it's a lot that i didn't have then that i'm going to add today so this is kind of like a part two and i did it during bible study but what i'm going to talk about today is living in goshen living in goshen in a moment i'm going to show you what goshen is let me give you a little background let me give you the text first if you will look at genesis 45 verse 10 through 11 genesis 45 verse 10 through 11 i'm a read from the new living translation and it says this you can live in the region of goshen where you can be near me with all your children and grandchildren your flocks and herds and everything you own i will take care of you there for there are still five years of famine ahead of us otherwise you your household and all your animals will starve let me give you the background if you know the story of the children of israel um jacob's son joseph his brothers were jealous of him and they put him in a pit and sold him into slavery you know he went to potiphar's house and potiphar's wife wanted to jump him and all that stuff and so um he's now he ends up being very faithful and he's second in command of all of egypt he gave the pharaoh a dream and told him of the famine that was coming and that he needed to save food and so now joseph's brothers and their family living in canaan and they need food because the famine is there so they come to egypt and they talk to joseph not knowing this was the brother that they had done wrong and after the brother had tested their hearts knowing that they didn't recognize him he said i'm jeras of your brother and god has placed me here so i can be here right now to be able to take care of you all and so as a result he brings them in told them to bring all their family their herd their flocks and all them all the families grandchildren everybody so everybody can be near him so he could take care of them so that's the background and that place where it happened was called goshen now the name goshen everybody say goshen spell g-o-s-h-e-n goshen goshen is is the the meaning of the word means to draw near draw near man this word if you all get a day it's gonna bless you because you're gonna need this for the coming days draw near meaning god had a people there that drew near to him so spiritually we don't have a physical land called goshen but it's a place in god a place in christ to where god will keep us safe and he will care for us even in the worst of times because what was going on at the time was egypt was being judged and egypt is a type of the world so like we're believers today that means the rest of the world spiritually would be like spiritual egypt because they don't believe in god because they believe in idol gods so god said look i want you all to come here or should i say joseph said i want you all to come here and be near me and and the very name goshen means to draw near so by being in there they were close to god so in other words goshen was like a suburb of like germantown bartlett collierville millington those are suburbs of the memphis area so goshen was like a suburb of egypt they were in egypt and they were part of egypt but yet they were still not of it i hope you all got me in it near it but not of it because it was a type of the world it was an ungodly system that was surrounding them so what goshen represents is that even though believers are in the world we are not of the world and god deals with us differently than he does with the world i want y'all to get this today because this is going to be your security coming down in these these crucial months that are getting ready to come up and the prophet i heard this week said it's got to be a clash good and evil is ultimately going to come he said but evil has reached its apex and it's about to run out and when that run out the greatest revival you have ever seen in all of time is getting ready to take place folk getting ready to come in the kingdom you've been praying for for years they're getting ready to come into you've been trying to get folks saved in your family they don't want to hear but when this revival hit and folk get on fire folk are coming into the kingdom of god like never before so i just want to tell y'all it looked bad but it ain't over stuff is looking bad but it ain't over somebody said it ain't over tell your neighbor next to you it ain't over hallelujah hallelujah it is not over so jacob and israel because the name israel came from jacob god changed his name to israel so jacob went and finally found out his son was alive he took all of his family into egypt because of the famine famine means shortages it means scarcity so it was a crisis in the land like we're having crisis right now but yet in the midst of that all of israel israel is a picture of the people of god because the bible says in the new testament that we are the israel of god that we are god's people we are god's children so whatever god gave israel back then belongs to us right now i want you all to get that we are israel spiritual israel today and god treats us or wants to treat us just like you finna see he did goshen right here so pay attention because i'm going to take you through several scriptures right quick to show you what it means to be in goshen i don't know about y'all but eyes be in goshen i'll be in goshen god will nourish his people in goshen divine nourishment even in the time of crisis it looked like we supposed to suffer with everybody else but god has always protected his people when times of judgment came so you're getting ready to see that right now somebody say i'm living in goshen turn to somebody near you and tell them i'm living in goshen so goshen means drawing near i hope y'all get this today because it means to draw near to god means to walk with him now i've had people to ask me before what when you say walking with god what does walking with god means because this is how you stay in goshen to walk with god means to live in a way pleasing to him it means to obey him it means to serve him it means to give to him it means trusting him it means having faith in him it means that i'm not walking or practicing sin and if i have been i repent of it it means relationship and prayer life with god there are many folk go to church that don't have a prayer life it means reading his word or speaking his word devotionally over your life that's what it means to draw near to god or to walk with him so as you draw near to god that means you are now in the will of god when people were in goshen they were in the place that god wanted them to be therefore they were in the will of god so when you're walking with god and you're drawing near to god that puts you in the will or the place of god and within that place is the hand of god i'm preaching in here today so listen to me watch this just like jacob was in the right place when believers are in the will of god you are in the center of his will and in the place where he wants you to be watch this the world can't understand us i know y'all got family members that may not be walking with god they may not be saved and they don't understand your faith hear you going through a crisis and all hell breaking out and you get up and break out in the praise folk can't understand that that don't know nothing about god that's why the bible calls us a peculiar people when all the world is going crazy and all hell breaking out you still find a way to have joy in the midst of the worst crisis in the world you know why because you know your god you know what he has promised you you know what he has said and you believe in him and they looking at you like you crazy they looking at you like you crazy they can't understand it because they don't know what you know but let me show you how god took care of of goshen when the crisis and the famine was owned in egypt god was judging egypt so he was judging the world hear me now the judgments that are coming has never been designed for the people of god is for the world i want y'all to hear me right now it has never been designed for us as the people of god it's for the world and i'm getting ready to prove that in just a moment put up that uh genesis 47 verse 5 through verse 6 and then i'm going to 27. then pharaoh said to joseph then pharaoh said to joseph now that your father and brothers have joined you here choose any place in the entire land of egypt for them to live give them the best land god gave his people the best land in all of egypt let them live in the region of goshen and if any of them have special skills put them in charge of my lifestyle god promoted his people and put him in charge of stuff it's gonna be some of y'all working for folk and they ain't gonna know what to do but because you're a praying person you're gonna be able to help your boss help your manager help your supervisor why because the hand of god is on you and you living in goshen somebody say i'm living in goshen now put it in verse 27. and israel dwelt in the land of egypt in the country of goshen watch this and they had possessions therein they grew and multiplied exceedingly i want y'all to get this now all held and broke out crisis is all around and the people of god got possessions they growing and they don't multiply why because they were in goshen somebody said i'm living in goshen god to mighting i'm living in goshen god treats his people differently even in the midst of a famine god takes care of his folk and he makes a distinction between us and the world throughout scripture i'm getting ready to show you in a minute where god divides or make a distinction with the way see god don't owe the wicked nothing because they ain't believing in him god only takes care of folk that's believing in him he don't own the world nothing he didn't told you who he was he didn't tell you about his commandments it's your choice to believe him if you don't believe him he has no reason at all to take care of you preach holy ghost preach so there's a place in god in a crisis when it's all around us that we can come to and hear the thing i usually bishop jake said way back favor ain't fair and here's what he mean by it it spoke out that thing because they got all the education they got all of the background they got all of the skills they got all of the knowledge they were out there first they feel like they deserve it and here come god taking somebody that ain't got the education that ain't got all the connections that don't have all the stuff they need to make it in the world and yet he promotes them above other folk that's already been out there you know why favor ain't fair have i got a witness in here some of y'all haven't been in situations where you should not have been promoted you didn't have everything but some way or another god raised you above the crowd and gave you priority above somebody else you know why favor ain't fair when you have drawn near to god when you believe in him when you trust in him and you're in his will he'll take that favor and give it to you before he gives it to somebody else somebody said i'm living in goshen now watch this in exodus 8 verse 20 to 23 in the new living translation it says this then the lord told moses get up early in the morning and stand in pharaoh's way as he goes down to the river and say to him this is what the lord says let my people go so they can worship me see it's about coming to god if you refuse then i'll send swarms of flies on you your officials your people and all the houses the egyptian homes will be filled with flies and the ground will be covered with them but this time watch this i will spare the region of goshen where my people live no flies will be found there then you will know that i am the lord and that i'm present even in the heart of your land preach holy ghost preach god made a distinction between egypt which represents the world from goshen egypt had the flies the people of god did not because the world doesn't want to bow its knee to our god and he is the only living god here's another scripture i didn't do this to first serve exodus 11 verse 7 from the new living translation watch this and it says but among the israelites it will be so peaceful that not even a dog gone bark then you will know that the lord makes a distinction between the egyptians and the israelites they don't even hear no dog it's going to be so much peace up in goshen with all kind of hell going on everywhere until a dog ain't even gonna bark at my people have i got a witness in here so god says i'm gonna provide for you i'm gonna allow you to have possessions and prosper and then i'm gonna let you have peace all that goes on when you in goshen when you're in the will of god when you are walking with god all of that takes place in goshen i don't know about y'all but i'm planning on living in goshen so in essence god shielded them from all evil during the time the judgment came now i want you to i just want you to hear what judgment was like for egypt back in that time you know the story ten plagues hit egypt stuff like the river turned into blood and frogs and lice and gnats and flies and the livestock died and boils hit the people and hailstorms came and locus and darkness and the death of the firstborn and every house of egypt died all in one night that was judgment and yet goshen was safe not one thing hit goshen just because they were in the will of god if it's any time you want your life in the will of god is in these coming months because there are things that are coming so listen to me your preservation is guaranteed when you are in the will of god go give god some praise on that [Applause] it's like god puts on his believer's head and he knows those who are his but it's like he puts an invisible mark on their foreheads in essence he telling the devil don't touch them those are mine leave them alone i know who they are they've drawn near to me they believe in me they trust in me they are living in spiritual goshen so you cannot touch them so the judgment that's coming y'all is coming for the world you're his and you got a mark on your head yes there'll be trouble there'll be a little shaken we may even feel a little bit of the shaking and some uncomfort i mean like we're in the shaking now with the virus in some way another god has kept us you know we've had to wear the mask so we feel a little bit of the shaking but yet god has kept us overall in exodus 9 verse 23 through 27 in the new living translation watch this so moses lifted his staff toward the sky and the lord sent thunder in hell and lightning flashed toward the earth the lord sent a tremendous hailstorm against all the land of egypt never in all the history of egypt had there been a storm like that man never in the history of my time being born have i seen storms with the viruses and the riots and everything i've never seen a time like this so we in that time watch this never in all the history of egypt had there been a storm like that with such devastating hell and continuous lightning it left all egypt in ruins the hell struck down everything in the open field people animals plants alike even the trees were destroyed at that time the only place without hell was the region of goshen where the people of israel lived can i get a witness this morning the only place that didn't have no rain no hail storm coming in it have you ever been on the street and you were driving down the expressway and when you coming it was pouring down raining and just a few feet on down the rain stopped it was clear raining here but it was clear right here that's how it's gonna be and how it was then judgment had come against egypt but yet it was clear in goshen and they were right there connected to egypt but yet was safe why because of their god god makes a difference and a distinction between the world and his people in the world in the world in the world you should have tribulation but be of the good cheer for i have overcome the world it's going to be tribulation out there in the world but the lord but the lord has caused us to overcome it preach holy ghost preach now watch this in psalms 145 i'm gonna give you three or four quick scriptures to show you how god makes a distinction the lord in psalms 145 20 new living translation the lord protects all those who love him so when you're in the will of god when you're drawing near the god that's demonstrating your love for him the lord protects all those who love him but he destroys the wicked because the wicked don't want him they have rejected him in genesis 18 25 in the new living translation let me give you the background lot and his family who were the nephew of abraham who were righteous people were in sodom and gomorrah and abraham now is talking to god about stopping his judgment so that his family won't go through that and this is the conversation this is only part of it but watch this surely you wouldn't do such a thing there's abraham talking to god surely you wouldn't do such a thing destroying the righteous along with the wicked why you would do why you would be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same notice abraham knew that the righteous should not be treated the same way as the wicked he understood the covenant so why would you be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same surely you wouldn't do that should not the judge of all the earth do what is right and god allowed him to get the only righteous folk out of there which was lot and his family the wife is the only one that messed up and turned around and disobeyed and looked back and she was turned into a pill of salt but him and his daughters got out of there because god wouldn't destroy it until after his people got out god makes a distinction now i hear you now that's the old testament give me something in the new testament first thessalonians or should i say first thessalonians 1 verse 10 in the new living translation and they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of god's son from heaven jesus whom god raised from the dead he is the one who has rescued us from the terrorists of the coming judgment he is the one that has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment he is the one who has rescued us from the terrorists of the coming judgment god has never intended for his people to be judged with the unrighteous or to be judged with the wicked god took locked them out of sodom he took knowing his family out of the flood he took rahab out of the judgment of jericho wherever his people were they never went through the judgment that the world went through with the same thing holds true for us today if you are living in goshen say i'm living in goshen and you're the one i love the most and that's ex-adults chapter 12 verse 12-13 most familiar passage of scripture in the new living translation and it says this on that night i will pass through the land of egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of egypt i will execute judgment against all the gods of egypt see the world worships other things other than our god for i am the lord but the blood on your doorposts i'm gonna say that one more time but the blood on your dough posts can i say that one more time but the blood on your dough pulse will serve as a sign mocking the houses where you are staying and when i see the blood i will pass over you this plague of death will not touch you when i strike the land of egypt the people that love god put the blood on their dumb hosts and guess what death went over their heads and could not touch them we overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb and by the word of our testimony you better give god some praise up in here [Applause] i want to give you some hope today because the bible says that jesus is our passover that his blood acts just as the blood did from those animals back then his blood which is more powerful greater than any other blood acts as a passover agent that when we apply him to our lives death got to pass over us somebody give him glory in here somebody said i live in goshen god gave him provision god gave him possessions and prospered them he protected them and then he even gave them peace in the end let me give you this little story i'm through you may have remembered this i gave this about this story a little close two years ago if you were here at that time maybe not but if you've ever seen a hurricane it's like a big funnel a spinning funnel of winds and everything else and it's just a big old wall and it's a big funnel that is wide at the top and it comes down like this and it spins and everything in its path begins to be destroyed houses start coming down roofs begin to fly signs are flying cars are flooded and turned over upside down but the bottom of that funnel can be anywhere from 20 to 40 miles and it's considered to be the eye of the storm and it is amazing how all this mess is going on on the outside of the 40-mile limit and stuff is is traveling everywhere and cars are being turned over and houses are being messed up but yet in the very middle of that eye is peace and calm the winds are low it ain't storming ain't nothing turning over outside because there's peace in the eye of the storm goshen is the eye the storm was happening everywhere else in egypt but goshen was the eye and i'm here to tell you if you're in god's eye the storm can't touch you preach holy ghost preach holy ghost somebody say i'm in the eye of the storm and i'm in the land of goshen somebody give god some praise [Applause] today there is a peace stand up on your feet there is a peace i take this i want you to take this with you because i don't know when stuff start i can't tell you that but i want you to be prepared and i pray this message prepares you so that you won't live in fear with whatever takes place i just know that whatever happened i'm in goshen i'm in goshen look at your neighbor and say i'm in goshen i'm living in goshen lift your hands up and say this after me heavenly father say it
