come on let's take our praise a little higher would you would you magnify him would you exalt him right now come on let's exalt him right now we worship you we worship you hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah i thank god for the presence of the lord that's in this place thank you for his his goodness the lord has been so good and so faithful and we're going to continue to pray for each other we're going to continue to hold each other up pray for the church body pray for the church leadership we're going to continue to pray for our nation's leadership for the transition or non-transition that our country is in we're going to continue to pray that my my prayer my prayer during this entire 12-week prayer chain 24 hours a day right here in the sanctuary my prayer has been god let us continue to be or let us become again one nation under god and how about this one indivisible with liberty and justice for all for all for everybody it is incumbent upon the church to pray that prayer and to example the way example the way we can't accept expect the world to do something that the church is not willing to do amen so the church has to be one church under god indivisible and where the spirit of the lord is there is liberty and the just shall live by faith amen we have to we have to stick and meld together be welded together fitly joined together compacted more than we ever have been before we and just a part of the body just let me be some little cell amen the greatness of god in the goodness of god and let me remain remain faithful in the valleys follow him our number one objective ought to be just let me be like him just let me be like him how many how many of you feel that way tonight everybody say revival we've been in revival tuesday night let me mention real quick a week but it'd be a great service our tuesday night thanksgiving service is always a great time i want you to be here with your entire family we won't keep you all night but uh you'll see to be a great spirit of fellowship and family atmosphere here and that is as much a part of revival as anything that we do fellowship fellowship one of the five principles that we find in the book of acts amen we are thankful tonight to have brother terry's shock with us and i've said a lot about him that we're not here even the last time that he was that he was of expounding and delivering the word of god like none that i know uh his through the times that i was um able to go to because of the times in alexandria as well as hearing him at other places and conferences and churches around but he also ministers to a lot tremendous man of god and i think probably the greatest thing that i can say about him is he is a true christian he is a he is a true christian and what a great spirit and i'm thankful for that there's impartation going on there's an outflow that is going on and we need his spirit in this church we need his anointing in this church and i'm so thankful that he was able he tried everything he could to get here son of this morning uh but thank you amen i believe that was the will of god that was the will of god it's the will of god for but a shock to be here tonight i want you to i want you to just make contact with your neighbor we're going to pray together as a man of god comes let's pray lord god i pray that you would increase our faith i pray that you would heighten and expand our vision i pray lord god that you would deposit something in our spirit help us lord to be like you lord help us to leave when we leave this place tonight to be transformed by the renewing of our mind by the renewing of our spirit by the renewing of our discipleship our walk with you in jesus name oh god i pray that you would move upon every person in this building from the platform to the media booth to the children and the nursery god all throughout this building this complex let there be a visitation of the holy ghost in this place in jesus name let our focus be on you and your word and let a seed be planted that would flourish and become the greatest of herbs in jesus name amen put your hands together for jesus welcome by the shot can we just continue to give god praise he is he is worthy he is worthy he is worthy amen amen it's a it's an honor to be here i don't just say that lightly i mean that um the pre-service prayer you know if you've heard me step behind this pulpit i say it about every time and if i'm blessed to come back i'll probably say it again because the the prayer power of this church is just refreshing it's just refreshing the worship of this church the power of god that you feel and i i look forward to the times that i can come and uh and be with you i give honor to uh to bishop and uh what a great man of god he is i don't just say that it's just god has god has raised him up and continues to raise him up and i thank god for this and to see these young people these children walking back and forth and young people and young adults praying the way they the way they pray the worship i i think the most active worship usher in the world is here i think i've been a lot of churches i've been a lot of churches and and these these ushers i mean i'm actually convinced that the holy ghost reaches the back wall at this church but but i'm also convinced he's going to go through the glass at at some point but what a what a privilege what a privilege the last time i was here the nichols family was getting ready to expand and so it has expanded and uh she's here and i'm used to seeing her like south of north of the border not south or northward christian it's good to see you and and it's just all just so many connections here and they just keep growing and i thank god for it matthew the fourth chapter in the 18th the 18th verse verse 18-22 and jesus walking by the sea of galilee saw two brethren simon called peter and andrew his brother casting a net into the sea for they were fishers he saith unto them follow me and i will make you fishers of men they straightway left their nets and followed him and going on from fence he saw other two brethren james the son of zebedee john his brother in a ship with zebedee their father mending their nets he called them and they immediately left the ship and they're willingly made father we've we've already asked you to um to anoint be with us and i'm just praying a prayer of personal revelation that would that would come on each of us you know exactly where we all are in our walk with you even if it's someone that this is the first time they've ever walked in this particular sanctuary all the way to the most senior follower of you god give us the wisdom to at least take one more step tonight give us the insight and let it be done in jesus name and can the church say amen amen god bless you as you're seated willingly made king jesus is and has always been in the business of calling and making one thing about his calling and making you know that social status never mattered to him it didn't matter if it was the down and out or the up and out it just did not matter social status played no role in his calling past mistakes played no role in in his calling when king jesus began to preach and choose his disciples it's interesting that the ones who he he called the ones that would witness and testify of his miracles it's interesting where he went where he did not go he didn't go to herod's court he didn't go to jerusalem or to the elders or the chief priest he could have but he went to fisherman at the sea of galilee nothing is impossible with god we know that and so he literally could have gone and called caiaphas just as easy as he called andrew and john and peter and james but he chose the foolish things of the world to confound the wise king jesus called and they answered and here's what answering that call meant it meant that they left all that they left their father and when they left their father they left their families they left their familiar life their profession their security and when he called not only did they answer they immediately responded no hesitation and no negotiation it wasn't any of this okay jesus yes i know you're calling but now can we talk about this what's the pay going to be uh how many days off a week are we getting are we going to be able to at least stay in accommodations hampton in and above where where are we going to be what are we going to be driving none none of that no hesitation and no negotiating whatsoever this has not changed today it's still about immediately answering the call of god and doing exactly what he says it may be that we are to leave it part with anyone leaving everyone and everything however it's clearly about leaving our present way of thinking and leaving possibly our lifestyle it's it's clearly a call to be answered and it's a making call follow me and i will make you i will make you fishers of men it's it's very clear how he called and king jesus is still calling humans to be made so humans can be saved it's the making of humans that leads to the saving of other humans the making of some when we when we really think about it that as we are allowed as we allow god to make us it will lead to others being saved the call is not for everyone to leave your home and your family and become a traveling preacher of the gospel because you living out your call and and me living out my call may look different but you can believe that there is something in common it is a call that must be answered the call must be answered in our lives and nobody can answer it for us nobody else can answer that call i thank god that i have a godly wife that loves god that's in the word of god every morning in prayer every morning i thank god for that but melanie can't answer my call and i'm trying to be a decent husband maybe you know i hit that one or two days a week but but i can't answer her call either it it does not matter it doesn't matter about your grandmother your grandfather your lineage uh well my grandpa was this well my my dad was this well my brothers this well do you know about my lennies your lenny's really in this area doesn't even matter it's great what your grandpa did it's great what your dad i had i had a wonderful father but jack shock can't answer my call jack shock cannot live out my call because it's an individual call now how we respond to this call is obviously very important because we all have a calling to be made and so we ask the question will it be answered in my life i was teaching a leadership lesson just in the last couple of weeks and the title of the lesson was myths and misgivings of leadership there are just myths about leadership there are misgivings about leadership and the first myth that i dealt with was the deadly myth of some some the belief that some will be enough when king jesus clearly asked for all some will never be enough sunday alone will never be enough you add wednesday to it and sunday and wednesday alone will not be enough because this is not a two-day of seven-day call it's not a two out of seven it's not a two of all of us it's very interesting what he said he said all your heart all your mind all of your soul all of your strength if you want to look at other references it's all of your might uh all ev all we need a revelation of all consider a few of his callings and what was involved in matthew 4 19 and he said unto them i read it again follow me and i will make you fishers of men in matthew 8 22 but jesus said unto him follow me and let the dead bury their dead study that out it's heavy matthew 9 9 and as jesus passed forth from fence he saw a man named matthew sitting at the receipt of custom and he saith unto him follow me and he arose and followed him and he had a very good job matthew 10 38 and he that taketh not his cross and followeth after me is not worthy of me so we know that a cross is involved in the call matthew 16 24 then said jesus unto his disciples if any man will come after me let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me so we know that self-denial is a part of this call there's too many people that's trying to put too much sugar on the scripture there's too many people trying to sweeten a lot of it up because so many people are very comfortable with the picture of jesus standing there smiling with his staff and all the sheep laying around his feet they love that christmas is coming christmas is coming and one reason why christianity loves christmas is because you can kind of move a baby jesus around however you want to move a baby around and a baby is sweet and a baby is nice and goo goo this baby and goo goo that baby but he was what did he say to pilate i was born king you don't move a king around you don't negotiate with a king oh there's going to be a great revival and it's going to be amazing what god's going to do but god's got to have some grown-up people in the thing got to be in mark 21 a man runs to jesus he asked him about eternal life jesus says you know the commandments and the man to his credit was able to look back at him and say everything you just said i have my whole life has been like that mark 10 21 then jesus beholding him loved him and said unto him one thing thou lackest go thou way and sell whatsoever thou hast and give to the poor and thou shalt have treasure in heaven and come take up the cross and follow me and sadly he had an invitation like many people wanted but he didn't answer that call and he walked away in john 21 jesus talks to peter sounding very good to peter at all and so in john 21 22 jesus saith unto him uh when he was telling him about that he looks at john and john is close to him and he he tries to distract from the the topic at hand which was his death and he says well what about him and jesus in john 21 22 jesus saith unto him if i will that he tarry till i come what is that to thee follow thou me peter's saying hold on about this death you're talking about me now let's talk about john first and jesus pretty much just said peter this is not about john it's none of your business about john if i want john to live until i come that's my business it's not your business this is what's going to happen to you now you're going to follow me are you not going to follow me king jesus was serious about the cost of following and the purpose of following which is making being made when king jesus called the first four disciples he he made it abundantly clear family business or family business could not interfere and this is major i don't know how many of the disciples were married i can't get a good read on that if any of you've done a study on it email me let me know but i do know peter was married and i don't know from the point of his call and him answering that call how often he saw his wife i don't know maybe maybe she traveled with them i don't seem to think that but but you know it's the call you say now now whoa now now you're you're messing you're just messing up our our thinking it's amazing how that word will mess up our thinking it is you wouldn't want jesus christ as your pastor i mean you you just think he's hard to follow sometime you just think what god gives him sometimes is hard to live out let jesus christ be your your pastor oh but he he went after the the one he was loving yes he was loving but loving does not always mean nice let's not get this confused it's not it's not nice it's not about this nice thing jesus is teaching one day and what does he say he said you don't drink you don't eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no part with me and they left by the droves and he's standing there and he looks at his disciples are there and he says please don't leave me please don't leave me don't leave me alone those of you that know the word of god no he didn't say that he turned around he said you want to leave also king jesus made it clear family must not be above me family tradition must not be above me there are two major spirits we're fighting religious tradition and family tradition i'm not trying i'm not trying to make everybody mad but but i am trying to deliver a word that it's imperative that we understand the clear words of jesus regarding the new birth and the new life and they must be accepted and obeyed now we need to get honest the basic christian tradition has built in insolation against radical obedience we're insulated against radical obedience as a matter of fact when we run into somebody that radically obeys it's one thing for the world to think they're crazy but it's horrible for the church to think they're crazy and so the insulation of the casual comfortable christianity it literally repels radical obedience and this tradition often places the call of king jesus beneath family desire and this is proven in just about every baby dedication because baby dedications for many people are basically photo ops and that's it if we understood what baby dedication really is there would be families walking to the front with their babies with a very very serious look on their face and could be some tears coming down their cheeks you know why do you know what baby dedication means parents do you know what baby dedication means grandparents and great-grandparents it means we are publicly walking to the front of the church and we have witnesses that when we walk away from this altar with our baby we are not the ultimate authority in this baby's life and when we walk away from from this altar we willingly take second place to his desire and we will adopt the overriding guiding principles of of this what does king jesus want what does king jesus want and what gifts and talents and abilities has has he put in this child for us to discover and position them in a way that the kingdom can be expanded through their life this affects every area of their life this this is the reason why young people that your parents kind of go crazy when you start hanging around people that will be a bad influence this this is the reason why because it's the dedicating of the child that it's not like okay it's your responsibility now guardian angel one jesus christ whatever have that no no no no we now we come as as king jesus's mouthpiece to hear from him about the child and so this affects what friends they have this affects what what jobs they start taking i'm talking even those very important um beginning jobs and then it definitely makes a major difference in what career they choose and then you can believe it makes a major difference in who they choose for a life partner because who you choose for a life partner predominantly is not just they're beautiful and i get tingles whenever i'm around them and i want to tingle with them for the rest of my life no no you read ephesians 5 and you will realize that that we our marriages are supposed to show the world the relationship that jesus christ has with his church and so the predominant thing about choosing a spouse is this will this person help me be effective in the kingdom and can i help them be effective in the kingdom and will our union expand the kingdom i'm not just preaching a little thought tonight i'm preaching a compelling invitation for life change it's called answering the call it's the call to be made willingly made into what into what he chooses i went to an elementary school in fort smith arkansas his name park the name of it was parker elementary i then went to kevin's junior high school and i saw a lot of fights i mean a lot of fights like in elementary school i mean i i remember the policeman having to be called out to our elementary school many times was this comment you can't make me and man whenever you would hear that when you hear somebody you know they start fussing and going at each other and then somebody would say you can't make me it it could get serious in many times it did there's just something in human nature that we just don't want to be made to do anything we don't want to do around my house growing up keeping your room clean was a big deal like a big deal like good things happened if you cleaned your room and horrible things happened if you didn't it was it was that big of a deal and i remember telling my mother one day i said mother look i'm going to clean my room would you just not tell me to clean it that was not a good decision in in my life at all um you know there it is moms kids dads whatever i'll move on as i go back in my mind right now i think i have preached a few things to where i was afraid that the young people were going to just come and throw me out outside from this pulpit the key word in choosing to be made is a power word that many people don't like submission you stand hold on just one second you just said that's a power word yes yes it's a power word it is it's it's in the power group of submission uh holiness uh wow i'm going blank i mean separation all of that and and it's like our flesh pushes back against it but the key in understanding submission is in the prefix it's all right there in sub sub or under there's a reason why it's called a submarine because it's under submission is putting our mission under another's it was like the little boy who got punished and his parents made him sit in the corner and so in his thinking he was thinking i'm sitting down on the outside but i'm standing up on the inside and if we really want to clearly understand submission it would be this sitting down on the inside sitting down on the inside and since we're speaking of king jesus and his kingdom then let's consider what we are to the king what are we to the king and and i would just offer this that i don't think we're bringing king and kingdom into our vocabulary enough so what are we to the king we're his subjects subjects so as subjects we submit to his authority and again it's sitting down on the inside that's what submission really is and total submission to king jesus is the goal submission is the issue so the question is who are we submitted to he said i don't like that topic but there's been times i i have struggled with it also you know why because i've got this and so do you so proving submission takes action because submission has to be lived out and we prove our submission in every day our everyday life it's it's being submitted to spiritual authority it's operating in mutual submission at home that's ephesians 5. and as we allow the basis of mutual submission to become the foundation of divine order divine order and divine order abuses no one divine order does not abuse children divine order does not abuse women not divine order and so the plan of god is for all of his children to to thrive and and if we could just learn the power of doing it god's way let me bring it now into my world when melanie and i are mutually submitted to each other when we operate then in divine order when we're submitted to the spiritual authority in our life and when our children are appropriately submitted to us you know i've got a 30 year old and an almost 24 year old so their submission to us right now does not look like it did us and when we were are all submitted to the moral laws of the land that's when we prove our submission to god you say we'll back that up well i think this will help matthew 22 35 through 40. then one of them which was a lawyer asked him a question tempting him and saying master which is the great commandment in the law jesus said unto him thou shalt love the lord thy god with all thy heart with all thy soul with all that mind this is the first and great commandment and the second is like unto it he didn't ask for the top two he only asked for the first one thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets the reason why that jesus gave him two and not just one is because you proved the first one by the second one and so in that same way of thinking i can't just say i'm submitted to you god i'm submitted to you now i don't i don't give a flip about what my spiritual authority says and i'm fine at home as long as everybody does what i want and i'm good in the laws of the land as long as as you know i feel like that would be good that is not proving submission at all there is no way that we can live submitted to god whenever we don't give a care about our connection with with the humans we prove our submission to god in our interaction with the human authority in our life just like we prove our love for god in the human arena of life so when we're talking about being submitted don't try submission by yourself submission is not possible under our own power because our flesh will win but it must be subdued by the power of god don't try righteousness by yourself you you will not i cannot be righteous on my own you cannot be righteous on your own don't try holiness on your own don't try submission on your own we've got to have the help of god but when we come and submit ourselves first to god then god by his power will help us submit in the realm that we need to be submitted in only by submitting will we be able to be made for 19 where we started he saith unto them follow me and i will make you fishers of men fishers of men it's it's about men it's about women it's about the human race it's being made fishers of men not reputation it's fishers of men not popularity it's fishers of men not this kind of stuff is not what our flesh needs to hear but we've got to understand that that the kingdom of the king and the kingdom and the moving of the spirit of god and the holy ghost it's not all about just making us more comfortable sometimes as i've heard it and delta airlines has their number one uh you know their number one priority is our safety and their number two holy ghost is called the comforter because where it leads comfort often will be needed jesus in the will of god was led into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil why don't we why don't we bring this appetite because we're all trying to be apostolic why don't we bring this the way that stephen embraced death and then in acts they got into a major jam and what was their prayer call your friends call your connections get a hold of the d.a does anybody know the d.a does anybody no i am not trying to be a you know a thunder cloud in the sanctuary but we are talking about seeing the miraculous have you read in the bible what happened many times after the miracle totally messed up people's pocket they were ready to kill them whenever we whenever people start being born again and their entire families hate pentecost god's going to have to give us wisdom and god only knows what is going to come against us in those times because we don't know the dominoes that are going to drop whenever the power of god we we love it if somebody comes out of a wheelchair we we love all of that but but what about god reaching some major wealthy person some great business person and and they're reached and changed to the level that they're ready to walk away from all of that and invest it all into the kingdom of god number one we've got to have enough faith to believe that and then number two we got to be ready for the fallout i'm talking about being fishers of men some may ultimately be called to leave home but today it's about fishing at and from home the time is now we can't hold anything back now church this this this pandemic has changed the field i don't know that there has been a more fertile time to connect with people because now something has hit the world that has affected everybody you say well did you know did god didn't do it or whatever well you know whether he calls it or he's allowed it it's here and and to people who say well god would never do that well i don't think you could convince pharaoh of that and so what we've got to do is we've got to understand that longing for yesterday is not the answer longing to understand what the spirit is saying today is the answer and the answer is not church programming the answer is being led by the spirit the answer is the king the answer is the kingdom and the answer is fishing for men because it's about the human race it's very um very interesting to me when i think about about the potter the potter i don't know you know some of you may have have done pottery or whatever but as i was as i was thinking about it if the potter's hand only stays on the outside of the vessel from a distance they'll both look the same but one will be useful and one will be useless and the reason why one will be useful will be because the potter put his hand on the inside of the vessel and made it useful but the way the vessel becomes useful is by the hand of the potter removing anything out of it that is blocking it from holding what it needs to hold to be useful in the apostolic church from a distance a lot of the vessels look the same in the apostolic church we are good at giving the potter the outside of us but the call tonight is for somebody to make sure that the potter has freedom to take that hand and put it inside the vessel and remove anything that is standing between the vessel being useful instead of useless it's got to come out it's got to come out we've we've got to allow the potter to put his hand inside of us and it might start in our head because there may be some things that we've got in our head that is rendering us useless instead of useful it could be that the potter needs to work on our eyes because there could be things in our eyes that that is rendering us useless instead of useful i'm talking about a willingness to be made and in the word of god it talks about is the clay going to say to the potter why have you made me thus in other words the clay does not decide the potter decides i'm in a very powerful apostolic church every time i come to this church it's like i i get this feeling that that god is really wanting to do something even great even greater no pun on the name of your church but even greater through you through us through this church what's going to be the difference the willingness to be made allowing the potter to put his hand on the inside now the interesting thing is this i'm talking to people right now and i just felt a witness of the spirit that you don't even have to think long at all to know exactly where you know that you need to allow the potter to put his hand you know it and so that's one level that we have to deal with but then another level that we have to deal with is okay now that i've dealt with what i know now god would you help me with what i don't know but there's a lot of people praying god if there's anything in me that that's wrong and it's like are you kidding me you know good and well this is wrong in your life and this is wrong and this is wrong and this is wrong it's kind of like somebody walking up to you and saying you know if i've ever offended you you know if i've ever offended you i've had people do that to me before and i have literally stood there looking at them like if i mean i'm thinking in my mind if are you kidding here take this because the way you operate your life you'll probably need to shove it in somebody else's back i'm not talking about that i'm not talking about that kind of if i've ever or well you know god if there's anything no let's deal with what we know with what we know is holding us back with our battles that we know that we have in our own life and then let's get to where and potter if there's anything else that i don't know then i am willing to be willingly made as we stand together right now i truly believe there are people that that need to allow the potter to do a work and what is so please don't con don't confuse this with the pruning process because even in the pruning process when a branch is bringing forth fruit it still must be prone to bring forth even more but somewhere on that spectrum i believe that the spirit is calling for some people to be willingly made if you want to respond then step out come to the front find a place in the in the isles willingly made willingly kings you tell just tell king jesus you don't have to track me down you call the angels off i'm coming i'm coming to you i want to be willingly made open open your insides up for the potter's hand open it up for the potter's hand let the spirit go through all of the areas of your life and when you get to to a point to where you feel that the spirits want to work but it's hard to go there ask the spirit to empower you even our prayer in this manner is not something that we have to do on our own we open ourself up and we allow the spirit to empower us the lord really needs us to respond to this tonight the lord needs this church to respond to this word tonight with sincerity and honesty and submission and humility would you do it right now would you do it with an outside voice would you do it with an audible voice would you tell the lord to claim the stuff out of our lives would you ask him to clean us out to take everything out of us that would render us useless that we would be useful for the kingdom of god would you do that would you do it they're going to sing here in just a moment but with your eyes closed and your heart open and your spirit open and your hands lifted would you just ask the lord to reach down into the vessel and to begin to do something transformational which would you ask him to accelerate accelerate the transfiguration process come on what you do that right now as you begin to have your own breakthrough i i want you to begin to connect with somebody else here in just a moment and i want him to do it individually and collectively in this place tonight lord we want to be made willingly made we want to willingly submit ourselves to you willingly be used of you god we willingly subject ourselves to you god you don't have to make us do it you don't have to pressure us into doing it in jesus name come on somebody come on somebody it's early i want us to cry out to the lord this conviction in this place there's a washing in this place there's a purging in this place if you'll let let the water of the world let the fire of the spirit begin to burn things out of us here tonight in jesus name god help us help us alone help us lord jesus oh father we need you lord we need you don't leave this where we are don't leave us in the condition that we're in right now oh parents oh lord jesus in our spirit tonight from the youngest to the oldest everywhere in between he wants to do something in our communities oh do what you are is you
