what's going on minecraft fans my name's Luke the notable and in this video I'm gonna be talking about why hardcore minecraft is so hard you may have seen my video where I survived a 1,000 days in hardcore minecraft well you might be happy to know that I'm going to 2000 if you want to see my progress towards 2000 days you can go to my Twitter and check my location I'll post the day number there also a follow would be nice surviving in hardcore minecraft is notably hard and by the end of this video you'll know exactly why so get comfy on your emerald throne because it's time to talk about why hardcore minecraft is so hard hardcore minecraft is an official minecraft game-mode only available in the Java edition when you set your game-mode to hardcore mode your games difficulty is locked on hard and if you die your world is deleted forever so even if you get a really awesome spawn next to a ruined nether portal if you die it's over so the only two rules with hardcore minecraft is that you can't change from Hard difficulty and if you die your world is deleted sounds simple enough but throughout this video I'm gonna show you why those two rules make hardcore minecraft really really hard and I think the first example to show you how hardcore minecraft is way harder with skeletons arrows what you're seeing right now is some footage of me on easy difficulties simply just dodging some skeleton arrows as you increase the difficulty in Minecraft pretty much every creature in the game does more damage and the skeleton is more accurate you might also notice that only on hard mode not only is this skeleton more accurate but he actually shoots his arrows faster here's another example for you I'm on Normal difficulty and spawned all of these zombies you'll notice that they don't touch the door it's pretty much a wall to them however as soon as you put your difficulty to hard certain zombies can gain the ability to bash down doors so you're no longer safe behind them you can see here as soon as I set my difficulty too hard a zombie tried to bash down my door but then when I set my difficulty to normal he stopped on creepers creepers are a different animal in hard mode I want you all to know that I don't get the chance to play great if minecraft all that often I had a lot of fun building this contraption it's a very simple machine if you go into the explosion chamber and press this button the creeper will pop on top of you and as you can see on easy difficulty basically hugging this creeper with armor i still live on easy difficulty it takes the creeper a long time to even notice me and then when he does explode he does about half of my health bar and that's without any armor creepers are notoriously deadly in minecraft though even on normal difficulty hugging that creeper will end in your death and if you instantly die on normal difficulty then you're obviously gonna die on heart even with a full set of iron armor if you get too close to that creeper on hardmode you're gonna end up dead diamond armors got to be able to save you right well on art mode no oh and if you were wondering this is some unenchanted nether right Armour on hard mode and as you can see I still die you only start to live from creeper explosions on hard mode when you have some enchanted diamond armor which can be hard to come by and even with some of the best armor in the game you're still gonna take a chunk of damage from a creeper explosion on hard mode just for fun I put a full set of nether right armor enchanted with protection for against one charged creeper I wasn't surprised I died check this out though full set of nether I'd armor enchanted the black protection for will save you from a charged creeper explosion even on heart I could spend pretty much all day going over all of the differences between easy normal and hard minecraft there's a lot of differences but I think today I'm just gonna talk about the worst ones one of the rules of hardcore minecraft is that you can't switch your difficulty you're always stuck on hard though as you can see right now I'm getting a little overwhelmed on Hard difficulty between these spiders zombies and creepers but because this world isn't a hardcore world at any time I can pause the game and switch the difficulty to peaceful d spawning all the monsters it's probably the cheesiest thing you could do in Minecraft but not illegal if you're not on hardcore mode spawn into a new hardcore world and you're stuck on heart forever enjoy it the only other rule with hardcore minecraft as opposed to hard minecraft is that if you die your whole world is deleted forever but honestly I sort of see this as a positive whatever your mind whatever you achieve in a hardcore world is temporary if you die it's gone you'd have to start over the fact that my emerald tower could one day never exist again makes it a little bit more special to me again this is more of a personal preference one I've developed over many years of playing Java minecraft to me it's a little more fun on hardcore mode but of course if you're gonna play in hardcore mode you're gonna be locked into some pretty annoying game rules one of the rules that becomes apparent almost immediately is that on hardmode you die of starvation the everlasting struggle of maintaining a stable food supply is tough enough but when creepers can one-shot you it's even worse start a new hardcore world and within a day or two you'll probably end up starving to death if you don't find food and you've got to continue to feed yourself forever or you'll die another pretty awful thing exclusive to hardmode minecraft is zombies can spawn hordes if you kill one zombie especially at night there's a chance that more zombies will spawn so even just killing an annoying zombie on your land could trigger more zombies to come zombies and skeletons are also more likely to have armor and enchanted weapons on hard mode even spiders can spawn with different potion effects including invisibility which is just terrifying so in short on hardmode at night you're gonna fight way more monsters and they're gonna be hard early on in a hardcore world it's important to avoid fighting especially if you never know when your mighty stone sword break here's another tough aspect about hard Minecraft let's say you're having a great day trading with some villagers making some profits and in your absolute excitement on the way back home you accidentally punch an iron golem and die instantly this only applies to iron golems that were spawned by the village but if they were spawned by the village and you punch them you're dead even with a full set of diamond armor you'll only survive three hits that's not a lot of time most times attacking a golem is an honest mistake but on hardcore minecraft that honest mistake could kill you the raids are another part of Minecraft that changes drastically when you set the difficulty higher of course on easy difficult - all of the pillagers that spawn in a raid are gonna do less damage and have less health that's an easy one to remember the raids are also shorter on easy difficulty you only have to fight three waves to beat the rape done easy I had actually never fought a raid on easy difficulty and it was quite easy I was done before I knew it so of course I normal difficulty the enemies are gonna do a little bit more damage and have a little bit more health and then you're gonna fight more of abnormals also the first difficulty where you have to fight in a vocre and the VEX you don't have to fight these uneasy just the addition of of ogres and vex can make normal raids much more difficult but they're nowhere near as bad as hard Reed's I've completed tons of hard raids in my official hardcore world but the towns I fight those in are generally pretty defensible this one has nothing you gotta fight seven waves on hard and they all do more damage and have more health of course it's gonna be pretty tough but remember on this world I'm not on hardcore mode which means if I get close to dying I can pause the game switch on over to peaceful and despawn everything oh yeah 100% skill right there I guess the nice thing about hardcore mode here is it forces you to do the raids on hardware you're gonna get the most totems to hopefully keep yourself alive longer assuming the raid doesn't kill you I didn't really do too many raids on my hardcore world until I had max gear and maxed out beacons on my main compound even with all of those powers and max gear the raids are still incredibly hard on hardcore mode and because you can't change your difficulty on hardcore mode there's no way to do a normal rate for some easy totems don't get me wrong though minecraft hard mode is in all bad there are some positives one of the best parts about hard mode is if a villager is attacked by a zombie there's a 100 percent chance he'll turn into a zombie villager curing a zombie villager with a potion of weakness and golden apple is not only an achievement but it also gives busted trades in the villager trading system I guess if you're not on hardcore mode you could always switch the difficulty for a little bit but I had to bring it up I also found it a little strange that poison doesn't kill you even when you're on hard mode so I guess you can punch all the B's you want the B's will take you down to almost dead but not quite though later if you end up grazing a cactus your will to be gone forever now I thought it'd be fun if I started up a new hardcore world and showed you all how to survive always check those hearts if they don't look like this son playing yeah so you just spawned in your hardcore world and you're on a deserted island this is great no matter where you spawn you've got to find trees even if it means swimming across an ocean sometimes you get a little lucky and find rare stuff right off the bat this is nice I wouldn't worry about hunger too much on the first day no matter what happens you're probably not gonna starve to death I would say just try to get as much wood as you can and maybe look for some sheep too the first couple days there's no need for showmanship you just got to make sure your house is safe cuz remember you're playing hardcore minecraft if you die you don't come back just like Grandma it at this point all you've done is punched down trees you should have enough wood to make some wooden tools and then grab some stone it's important on the first night to hear on the first day of a new hardcore minecraft playthrough I spent more than one second making stuff look nice which was a huge mistake good thing I quickly realized my error in wood Street back to chopping after a whole day of chopping what it's important to have a nice level Shack that you can go home to it doesn't have to look nice I like to seal myself in a box the first night our first couple nights then using 100% oak I can make charcoal to light stuff up torches are gonna save you to add first night if you have to deal with darkness you're probably gonna die because I never found sheep in this world I've got to stay up all night mining but because I've got torches it's pretty sick the night in Minecraft only lasts 8 minutes but might be surprised at just how much you can find in that time so by the time I emerged from my hut the next morning I had a shield in some iron armor if you're on day two you're probably starting to get a little bit hungry but I told you not to worry about food on day one fish aren't the best but they are reliable with just your sword or even your fist you can take them right out of the seat eventually you can set up a bread farm so no one gets hurt but for now some fish gonna die so here we are day two we're chillin got a little spot we can call our own some food iron armor live in life but of course if you're not building a wall by day three I might as well already be dead wall is more than a wall a wall is peace of mind oh there you got zombies skeletons creepers pillagers Enderman killer bunnies all sorts of stuff not even hard mode zombies can open a fence gate which makes the wall impenetrable by all monsters wells spiders could climb over the wall and Enderman could teleport in but it's still safe once you've got a small cobblestone wall go ahead and make stuff look nice you're virtually unkillable oh yeah for sure I could see myself living here for another thousand days that'd be nice speaking of 1,000 days remember I'm going to 2,000 days in my hardcore Minecraft world if you'd like to check my progress on 2,000 days head on over to my twitter and check my location I update my day number they're a follow would also be cool I try to only tweet bangers so I won't clog up your feet oh and if you set your profile picture to my face I follow you back check out the Twitter link in the description use my face as your PFP get me to follow you it's a fun time anyway that's the end of the video I hope you enjoyed it maybe have a little more appreciation for hardcore minecraft who knows maybe you'll even go try out your own hardcore Minecraft world for yourself if you'd like to stay up to date on all the new content that I put out make sure to click my face it should be on screen now it will physically harm me if you click it I just want you to know that goodbye it's been ten minutes now
