Why are do Americans have so much love in their families? Super Size? Why is it so big? Do they wear shoes when they clean? Hi guys it's super cold in Harajuku today. Yay... Sorry, let's do it one more time. What was it again...? Hey guys it's Cathy Cat and today we go and ask Japanese people what things they don't quite understand about America and what they are curious about. So let's go and ask Japanese. Can you make a question about something you wanted to know about the US? Their ladies first system is amazing... and the love in their families seems to be so strong. I envy that. I envy that too. The way people connect with each other is amazing. There is a lot of love there. Can you formulate a question about it? Why are do Americans have so much love in their families? Is it not the same in Japan? We don't really hug and such in our families. My foreign friends... they hug their family members. I see that and I envy that. Do you wish you had that in Japan? If there was more love in our families, I would be happy. Why do Americans like hamburgers so much? Yes and cola! They seem to have cola with every meal. I think they have so much junk food. How often do you eat hamburgers? How often? Do I eat them at all? We don't eat burgers often... Maybe once or twice a month at max. How often do you go and eat sushi in comparison? What sushi? I go a lot to running sushi places. - Me too. How often do you have sushi? I definitely have it more than hamburgers. Ok. A lot more than hamburgers. I wonder why some of the American foods are so colourful. M&Ms and such... and seeing chewing gum from American YouTubers... It's so colorful. It really surprised me. - Do you want to try that? - I wanna try eating that. I have the idea, that in America everything is big. Food and such, everything is really big. I wonder why. You mean Super Size and such. - Why is everything so big? Do you think you could eat a large portion? - I could eat that. I wanna see you try. In America, everyone is so tall. And I wonder why. Americans are VERY direct. They are really not shy. I wonder how they can stay so open to people. So for example, going out into town... Japanese won't kiss in public, but why do Americans kiss in public? Are they not embarassed? In Japan, you don't have PDA. - We don't. So I wonder why Americans do it. Is there something were you were like "I wonder why... In america compared to Japan we do this and that." In contrast, Japanese people don't say things directly. Yeah. Why do Americans enter the house with their shoes on? The house will get dirty! In Japan you... We take our shoes off in the hall way. We also clean properly. I wonder if Americans clean the house with their outdoor shoes on. Did you see that in a drama or something? I saw it in Full House. There is some fabric on the bed... and I was wondering why that was there. It's there to lay your feet with shoes there. So many home parties! Can you make a question? Why do Americans have so many house parties? Where did you hear about that? From a movie? That's the image I have. In Japan, are there any house parties? We don't have house parties. - Maybe on someone's birthday. We don't have big house parties. Why is there a tip fee culture in America? Well in Japan ... We don't give tips. Not at all? - Yes. What do you think about giving tips in America? - I think it's good. If you have a polite waitress or waiter... you can express your gratitude to them. Giving them a little money is ok. How much percent do you give as tips? Do you know? I have no idea. If you just went with your feeling, how much percent would you give? If I paid 1000 yen I would give 100Yen. About 10% then. Why is Japanese food so popular in America? Where did you hear about that? I talked with an American I know, and they said they like Sushi. I asked them why they liked sushi so much. They said Japanese food is famous in the US, so I found out about that. Do people in America eat a lot of Japanese food then? I think so, maybe. Do you eat Japanese food every week?
