(piano music) - Welcome back to "What's Inside?". I'm Lincoln, and this is
Dan and today we're with our friend Stacy, from "Stacy Plays". - Hello - And we have a special
one for you guys today, we have diamond ore from "Minecraft". - What? - This is a giant piece of diamond ore, - What? - In real life. - How did you get that? - Alright Lincoln, hold onto that. - Ebay - What? What? - That is so heavy. In order to do something
on diamond ore, we thought it would be the perfect fit to
partner up with Stacy Plays, because 1, she lives in Utah,
we're kind of Utah neighbors, which is cool. The second reason is because
she is the second most watched female gamer in all of North America. And the nice thing is, she
does "Minecraft", and it's family friendly, so that
goes along with our channel. - In order to get the very
best tools and armor that you can ever have in the
game, you have to make them with diamonds, but they
are really really rare, and you need a lot of them. So, there's many many hours
of searching, and it's always really exciting when you
actually come across diamond ore. - Interesting, because in
the real world, this guy may or may not have diamonds
in it, but the cool thing is, we are going to go cut this
thing open and see if this actual diamond ore that we
spent five hundred dollars on has some actual diamonds in it. - That's crazy. - Yeah, you're always
guaranteed a diamond when you find one of these, but not so much that. - I read online that it's
1 percent of diamond ore actually has diamonds in it. (laughs) - Are we feeling lucky, Lincoln? - No. - What? (all laughing) - I'm feeling lucky, and if
you want to see something very cool, Lincoln went and
did a whole episode with Stacy on "Stacy Plays", we'll put
a link in the description. - Yeah, we discovered
what's inside "Minecraft". We actually used x-ray vision
to see through the caves. - First, we need to take
this thing and figure out how to get inside of this
twenty-five pound diamond ore, and see if we can find some diamonds. - [Dan] Alright, we're back
here at our favorite rock store, Rockpick Legends, back with
our friend, Rick, and we've got our diamond ore. (laughs) - It's so big and heavy, it's crazy. - [Dan] Is that what you
call it, in the rock world, diamond ore? - Sure, well it's called
kimberlite, it is a diamond ore. kimberlite is a type of lava that forms deep inside the Earth, and the
diamonds are already formed, and it picks them up and
brings them to the surface. At least a hundred miles down
is where they form, and then shoot to the surface and
erupt like volcanoes. - That's far underground. - It is, isn't it? - It is far, but in "Minecraft",
that's where diamonds are, in the game, they're down, - Down deep. - Usually next to lava. - [Dan] This is the beast of a saw. - (Rick laughs) - [Dan] This is the one, huh? - This is it. - [Dan] Alright, check out
this blade, does this happen to be a diamond-tipped blade? - It is a diamond-tipped blade. - [Stacy] So we're using
diamond to cut through possible diamond? - This big screw drives
the whole thing through, and it will cut it, it goes real slow. This is gonna take at least
forty-five minutes, to an hour. - [Stacy] Wow, see, in
"Minecraft" it usually takes only about four hits. (everyone laughs) - [Lincoln] That's what
the diamond pick is for. - [Dan] Yeah, so we just
put it in there, turn it on, - [Rick] Now, when you
want, we can open this up if you've got light on
your camera, we can see it doing it's thing. - [Dan] Woo, look at
that, it's starting, okay it's been going for a
while now, I don't know, twenty-five minutes, and
I just looked, it doesn't look like it's done that
much yet. I don't know this might take longer
than forty-five minutes, it's barely getting into it. It's probably because of all
the diamonds that are in there, I'm sure. - We are about fifteen to twenty minutes from being completed, you can see how far, light coming through. - [Dan] Oh, there it is, yep, okay. - [Lincoln] I was just looking at the top. - [Stacy] Diamonds, here
we come, should I just take it from here? - Sure. You can give it a whack. - [Stacy] Let's do it. (music and sound of machine running) - [Dan] Okay, I think it's
done, I heard it make a noise, and I pushed this black
button as fast as I could, because it sounded like it was broken, so, - [Lincoln] Let's open it
this way, because I can't see - [Dan] Oh yeah, yeah. - What, how, oh, like that. - [Dan] Ooh - [Lincoln] Is it done? - [Dan] That is definitely split in half. - [Lincoln] Oh my gosh. - [Stacy] There's some specks in there. - [Dan] This blade is
about as long as my entire fingers to my elbow. It is huge, it makes this rock look tiny, but look at it to scale to my hand, look how big that blade is. - [Stacy] It's such a smooth cut too - [Dan] It is. - [Stacy] Now diamonds in
"Minecraft" are like blueish, turquoise, what color
would the diamonds you're looking for be? - They're gonna range from a
creamy yellow to more clear, this mine's not known for
having colored diamonds, so probably nothing like that. All the little shiny spots
you see are magnetite, which are one of the
minerals that's associated with diamonds. - [Dan] So, not the most
promising results yet but, we don't know for sure,
so Rick, don't tell us yet what your final verdict is,
but we have these pick axes, and we have these pick axes, so - [Lincoln] Scary, scary. - [Dan] I think it's time to go outside, and give this a try. - I'm ready - [Dan] Real pick ax, - Let's do this - [Dan] Here we go,
where's pick a good spot. - [Stacy] A think maybe, here,
on this big part right here. - [Lincoln] Wait, wait,
wait, wait, wait, this thing can do it, okay? I've done it before, I
broke diamonds with this. - [Dan] Yeah, that's really gonna hit it. - [Stacy] Yeah, I don't think
so, stand back, stand back. (hammering) - [Lincoln] Not bad,
this thing's gonna work. - [Dan] Hey, pretty good,
you've got some skills with that pick ax. - Thank you! - Okay, this is how we
do it in the real world. Oh, it hit me right in the face. - [Lincoln] Are you okay? - Yes, a chunk just hit me. I do have glasses on,
let me just not smile so my teeth don't get knocked out. (music and hammering) Oh, we got a chunk, look at
that, there's a little piece. All that effort, ooh, there's
a shiny piece right there - [Stacy] It's shiny, Rick. It's shiny. - [Rick] Let me go grab a hand lens. - While he does that, I'm
taking another stab at it. - [Lincoln] Don't smile, Dan - Mining is a tough job,
someone's gotta do it. - [Stacy] I'm so scared,
I have like a shield. (all laugh) - [Dan] Okay, we're back
inside, Lincoln's pick ax is broken, Stacy has her
safety goggles on still. - I'm so nervous. - [Dan] We got this
little piece off of it, that was the first chunk, that we hit off. It was teamwork between
Stacy and I, so alright, we've found out nothing but
bad news this whole time, what's the verdict from
this one, any chance? - This one little piece
has one little tiny diamond fragment, right down in here. - [Dan] What? - No way. - [Dan] Like actual diamond? - Yeah, it's actual diamond,
it's about, it's probably about a millimeter and a
half across, right there, where you see the reflection. - [Dan] Yes, I see it. (cheering) - [Stacy] Lincoln, we did it! - [Dan] We didn't get completely
bamboozled off the internet - Not completely. - How much do you think
that diamond would be worth? - Um, you'd need many, many
carats of diamond like this to make anything out of
it, it's just industrial, so it doesn't have any
value at this small size. - I see. - [Dan] I mean, all we
did was hit right here, with the pick ax, like animals, and we got one little piece out,
this thing's a lot bigger, if there's one little piece,
there's gotta be more. - More than likely. - [Dan] Yes, high fives, that's awesome. (laughing) - Well, thank you guys so much
for letting me come along, and actually see something
from "Minecraft" in real life. - One thing that we learned is
only 1 percent of kimberlite, or diamond ore actually
has diamonds in it. - We got that 1 percent, we're part of it, that was awesome! (piano music)
Yass I watched this yesterday the whole time I was thinking about how much of a coward pyrocinical is https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I4gjNGwBNfk
