What Scammers Do When You Have $2,000,000

for the past week i've had about two million dollars in a fake bank account and i've invited scammers to connect to it just to kind of see what would happen and the results have been all over the place admittedly a lot of times when i do this i put zero dollars in the account or something like five ten thousand dollars so it really did lend to some unexpected results to explain really quick this is the bank of america online demo website a few months ago i spent a weekend coding and essentially perform a man in the middle attack on myself where whenever i connect to this on my virtual machine the data files that it's loading are hosted on my server so i can have any amount of money i want in this case like two million dollars all right ma'am so do you want your money back like 199 which has been debited from your account um i'm not like super like i totally would be into that but i'm not i just want to make sure that's not on my card because like i have my account and then normally i just give everyone my dad's credit card so like i don't really care no no no ma'am to say see ma'am no no ma'am it's all about that like you have been charged on your checking account okay so with the which bank you have a checking account so that we can refund that money in that account okay and you don't have to tell me your card number your account number [Music] all right all right ma'am now just hold on a second ma'am let me transfer this call to my senior accounts manager oh okay now he will guide you further with your refund so just give me a moment let me transfer this call wait are we not hold up okay hello alex so simply make a note of the balance which you have in your account so we are going to try now i don't think did you write maybe like a hundred thousand or something oh sorry am i all right so what i'm going to do i'm going what can you oh so what can you see on your screen now ma'am nothing just wait okay okay this way okay so it might not make sense why i'm laughing here if you've never seen one of these videos before so the scammers hide your screen so you can't see anything while they do this part of the scam and this guy's so flustered he doesn't realize that he didn't actually hide it and i just lied saying that i don't see anything anyway this is like the big moment of the scam where they uh they're supposed to they transfer money in between your accounts and then they try to trick you and make it make you think that it was a real transfer from norton in total we start getting back right now the 500 which are getting back right now okay [Music] because uh including taxes um including taxes my dad said that people who make the amount of money that he makes don't have to pay taxes all right all right and the refund amount ma'am you need to put five hundred dollars okay and make sure you do not made it interesting okay 500 is like a test is that like an ethics test to see if i'm gonna like steal money i'm not listening i'm not that kind of person okay i'm not gonna just like no no no you got me okay yeah nice try buckle i know it's only a hundred dollars i'm not gonna steal i'm not gonna steal from you oh it's a hundred dollars it's 199 okay just sold out yeah it's just 199 you're eating the listen to me i would never if i lost i want you to understand something if i lost all of my money yeah i know that like if all of my money is gone you're getting the money never yes i know that steal from someone all right mom ha ha ha ha listen to me i think that it is literally the worst oh you are getting like if i could pick one thing that is the worst thing uh if i could pick one thing that is the worst other than that show caillou do you remember my god my little like sister sorry um it probably probably would be i guess not having world peace kind of sucks it would be not having world peace and then probably stealing okay and i'm telling you remember where you come to the walk actually okay come on can i come back to that for a second can i come back to that if i if like a genie appeared right now and said nivea what do you think is the worst thing because whatever you pick i'm gonna get rid of i would say the worst thing is not having more wishes and then maybe he would give me like more things to get rid of because that's like the ultimate thing and i know he's not going to give me more than three wishes and then i would be able to do stealing not having world peace fifty dollars fifty dollars man fifty dollars okay just fifty dollars fifty dollars you are getting in the fourth part you are getting the money in four parts fifty fifty fifty because your recent amount is two hundred dollars ma'am otherwise why 50 though it's a hundred so i did like 50. you're getting the money in two parts or something no no no no no no no 50 plus only 50 ma'am what about 50 plus 450 only 50 equals 100 no no no no you're getting the money in two parts first you are getting the 50 then again 50. so make sure put the 50 he asked me to write 50 that way he can add a bunch of zeros after it to make it seem like i made a huge mistake uh that's the wrong amount let me try again it's just five because this is the banking server oh my god just hold on let me check your bank account wait oh my god you can see the 50 000 has been transferred from the norton well that's fast do you see that oh my god oh wow i told you ma make sure do not make any mystic ma'am i know that ma'am you are the very loyal customer you're not going to keep our company's money oh man that is a blunder oh dear yes so you need to go to the bank and do the wire transfer to our company's account okay ma'am oh my god i did a wire transfer to one of my friends this morning it's actually still pending um i'm still pending yeah how much you have done the wi-fi oh just 17. it's like yeah yeah yeah she's just used to like she's just buying a car girl i got you oh yeah she's just buying a car yeah all right so you need to go to the bank all right and do the wire transfer to our companies account listen i know it took 47 minutes but this is one of the fastest easiest ways i've gotten a bank account from a scammer in a while and this is this is a it looks like it's going to be united states bank account this guy's just ghosting right in like ma'am please please just give me the money thanks he actually gave me two bank accounts here which ends up being quite common amongst the calls that i've done this week i then tried something very different where i tried to fake another scammer connecting to my computer and changing the bank account details i i was trying to pretend that some other scammer basically stole the money but they didn't really understand it maybe i delivered it wrong and ultimately the manager got really upset and uh really weird i think that they were just really confused and weren't really sure how to handle the situation and this money that you have in your account you've made it yourself uh my dad my dad okay and you want more money i guess i mean who says no who says no to that do people say no let's join hands let's join hands and make more money i have a way with which we can earn more money okay like how by scamming people okay what did you say scanning them like like like like a medical scan or what do you can by looting them of their money like stealing yeah like stealing from them okay so you're talking about like multi-level marketing digitally you mean like multi-level marketing no no no no this is absolutely going to be fraudulent we're just going to fool people loot money from them wait how what do you say i mean i you wanna know what you have to do yeah cuz i feel like i wouldn't do a good job i would probably feel really bad like actually taking the money from someone you know what i mean like i don't feel bad taking the money from my dad because he's my dad and he like gives it to me but what would i do what would i do you just have to you just have to bring me the contact numbers of people who have a lot of money in their bank account and the money that they return they will be you will be having to receive it into your account and from there we divide our share we do not have a proper account oh like all my dads just give you all my dad yeah you can do that that is going to be okay so this is a multi-level marketing thing like you're recruiting me and then see i knew it was an mlm no me for the job what how did you get the job even i was uh like there was a job fair and do you know any job for like a lot of companies you don't work for the north you don't work for norton even you are not the person who is using an even i also know that yeah he like offered me a job yes i know that but you are already doing a job ma'am you are professional hacker right you are just trying to rob a money from my company's account this next call i want to show you started off as sort of the average refund scam a guy connecting to your bank account trying to steal your money but when he saw the two million dollars in my bank account he took a completely different turn that i've never experienced before now i'll tell you one thing what i get well you just stop yourself you don't let what you are you think and then you speak just let it be even whatever that is coming into your mind on your heart just say it don't stop yourself from saying it trust me on it you just want me to be honest i'm sorry you're saying that i should just be honest and open with you yeah don't stop the way i'm saying it do you really think i'm thinking and saying no i say it on the on your face okay well this is something that i've never told anybody say it i liked the ending to the show lost you know my whole life i've been taught to just keep things you know hidden and private uh nah you can just uh see them i'll tell you one thing very frankly okay i don't seem to have gotten any i don't seem to have gotten any money yet uh maybe it'll i don't did they send it to my checking account yeah mom um it could be clicking or saving check both i don't know i can't see anything as of now because you're taking your personal data so i don't know but i might i don't know i might be way too frank to you if i liked you i just said okay fine man i liked you i bet you say something i will say it up friend i won't just eat around the bed i don't know strangers i i'll be i'll i'll i'll be talking like you the way you do it because you think you then speak and then you don't you're not true to yourself you just stop from being what you want you know well it's hard because you have to you know there's standards and people society sometimes they they put these things in and you know you have to drive this car or you have to wear these clothes or do these things three ice cubes in every bowl all that stuff and i just get sometimes i just want to i want to take my shoes off and chew my toenails a little bit you know what i mean i'll tell you one thing these societies being created by us and these societies won't give you money and they won't give you teeth they won't give you satisfaction it's you who have to grab it so the moment you stop thinking about the society think about you give up about society simple and sober now let's uh work on pure so that we can add security on it okay so that uh once before we can't keep the server long on to it so ma'am you will get a code on to your this thing can i read your poem that i wrote it would i don't mind i'm just listening to your poems and everything i just want your account to be secured you to be secure and i'm definitely going to talk like a star in the night flashes glittering thrusting through the stratosphere what do i hear in my ear it is so near so so near the star it's like a glittering light and up above i can't see but i do see i see all every single star both near and far glistening not glistening raining do you feel it do you like playing smart my soul how long you're using soaks in like a sponge there's a hole in my bucket dear liza a hole like a plastic bag floating through the wind i'll never stop you never stop anyone you shouldn't okay so that's the first part that's the first part of it um i don't know there's seven there's seven different parts uh can i say something can i say something to you martha yeah i don't know whether maybe my husband could be wrong i haven't wanted that view what was that so my question might be wrong but yeah i think like you've got a very deep thing for me you need a deep thinker you want to talk about things that's exactly what the first part of the poem's about i read him a lot of poems or rather i made up a lot of poems and we flirted for a while which was a little bit weird and eventually he just made an excuse about how he had to leave but he has called me back every day since and he still hasn't scammed me and i think that he has a plan like like he wants to to marry me or something i don't know more of the the romance scam the long term yeah that's all right yeah yeah i mean yeah uh my boss is calling me i'm gonna call you back within half an hour or like two hours or you can just drop me a text message on to the number that i gave you okay i haven't yet i haven't gotten any money yet no don't worry my boss is calling me right now so i have to go back and talk to him do you have my number the personal extension number okay okay but what about i i i i don't want to be rude i just i just you don't like my paw you don't like my poem do you i knew i should never locked it no you're hanging up now because you don't like my i get it it's fine whatever i thought we had something it's fine i shouldn't have shared i shouldn't have shared it and that's fine [Applause] i will put it back in the box there was also a group of scammers who were so determined to get my two million dollars that they've been singing and calling me hundreds of times this week you don't have to receive their call you don't have to receive it well who are you listen no you don't have to you don't have to receive it you don't have to receive it at the moment okay while you're talking with me don't receive any one call caught no i am the richard i am the reacher but it is my number you know second number do you ever feel my phone my phone wasn't stolen so you don't have to speak uh that pick up that number you know you don't have to what's the password do you ever feel sorry the password is do you ever feel like a plastic bag bag like a plastic bag okay so that means our account department are sending you that details all right so you have to wait for a moment all right darling okay okay all right i'll wait i'll wait okay if it really is an imposter i'll tell them to stop calling me yes richard sorry we got disconnected hello wait hello oh yes yes yes wait tell me oh this is i think i have you both saved and my phone is richard so i'm getting confused sorry i didn't mean to call you i'm trying to call back the real richard no no it's me richard it's me richard darling hello hello it's me richard if you're richard okay tell me this why is it that when i asked the real richard to send me a video of him singing a song he sends it to me immediately and then when i ask you to sing me a video of the song you won't i am richard who who even is this guy well he i don't i guess i ma'am i told you not to talk to anybody he said that he was your assistant i totally do not speak with anyone while you're talking with me okay i love the phone up the phone up the phone pick up the phone pick up the phone just hang up hang ups i don't know what's going i on know what's going on oh yes he is fraud madam don't speak hello hello richard hang it up richard no i'm not going to hang up right now yeah ma'am hang up his ball hang on hang it up what who sent you five videos one one of which one of which had a cat richard did and i am richard i sent you i i am yeah i am written yeah i got all the videos all right if you are richard can you just sing the song can you just sing the song if you're wrinkly actually really do you ever feel like a plastic bag yes [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] like a plastic bag we sang a lot but while we sing and while i talk to other scammers they gave me five bank accounts yes madden i i was just telling you from beginning you remember that i was i'm trying to help you out and you give me lots of lots of uh security questions and lots of uh like you know lots of password like do you ever feel like a plastic bag and all this kind of fits and i told you do not trust anyone you remember that should i you remember that today okay okay listen to me don't cry don't cry listen to me i am helping you from other another way okay okay okay do you have any grocery store do you have any grocery shown nearby your home yeah i love the grocery this story really isn't over either they asked me to go get gift cards and i i think we're approaching about 10 hours with them but if there's one thing i learned from this experiment the past week it's that showing scammers two million dollars in your bank is dramatically different from showing them zero dollars in your bank they are really desperate to get a chunk of that money so desperate in fact that we were able to report 18 bank accounts this week to bank fraud professionals who are actively investigating these accounts i will probably post some phone calls later once we see how these stories end but i wanted to check in with you guys and show you what's been going on because i think it's hilarious until then know that you matter that you are valuable and that you are appreciated you
