What Does a Marine Double Amputee Carry Everyday?

Tyler you ready I am all right let's do something light a little warm up all right we love talking about EDC here everyday carry so let's do two EDC carriers with you is a Marine what were you carrying so um not working uh Glock 19. um I won't say uh what size mag but uh Glock 19. um typically uh um some type of everyday carry folding knife and a self-defense option as well I had a um a G10 curved belt um blade that actually sat here so it wouldn't be metal detected oh nice um and then uh uh typically a small flashlight like Surefire or um o light at one point but uh not a fan of Olay why not uh I very much you know was all right with using no lights because of the price and then uh I actually had one explode on me when I got injured and oh really yeah I had a buddy reach out to them to to get it replaced and they basically told us to go [ __ ] ourselves and then it wasn't covered under warranty so yeah you got blown up yeah in Afghanistan as a marine and Olight said that they weren't going to replace their [ __ ] equipment they'll blow up on you that is correct interesting yeah sounds like a stand-up company yeah but uh yeah uh operating uh being in a cyber platoon I mean we ran m4a ones um I carried an sc5 about an 11 inch blade on Me overall length and then uh pocket knife and on my play carrier I'd keep a small K Bar TDI for kind of last ditch effort um same thing oh light flashlight at that point um or a uh like a mod Light Pocket light yeah so now you're a double amputee about to be a veteran which presents challenges that I don't even know about what do you what are you carrying now to keep yourself safe out there so I uh I ran into some issues you know appendix carrying um my my socket for my um my leg so I'm a hip disarticulation is what it's called so I don't have any of my leg at all um and my socket is you know pretty much pretty much a bucket that I I sit my what's left of my um left glute and my pelvis into and so I can't really carry um appropriately or like I would say uh safely for my injuries appendix care anymore so I still carry Glock 19 but I run a Vertex uh the vertex sling um so I'll rock a sling um fits nicely in the back um are you talking about like a bag yeah like a sling bag like a fanny pack pretty much okay so I rock a rock the rock the fanny pack but I wear it as a sling um keep a little bit of medicine on one side they actually have the the compartments on are pretty nice it's got you know uh part compartments for for medicine I keep uh handcuff Keys um which I used to always carry on me as well keeping handcuff Keys uh and the hidden compartments tourniquet on the back of it um rubber bands heavy duty rubber bands um extra Supply like medical supplies from for my injuries and whatnot um keep a Surefire small Surefire flashlight in there as well scaled down trauma shears and then um some gauze chest seals and uh I think that's I think that's the important stuff yeah so Glock 19 is your weapon you carry a blade yep I do um yeah right now I'm running a uh man I can't remember the name quartermaster I think quartermaster I've not heard of that I'll have to look into them well I got some buddies over at Sig really I know you're a Glock guy but I've been looking into sing a lot you have if you've seen this this new 365 macro I am not so I got a buddy Jason over at Sig I told him you were coming on and he was like you got you've got a he wants to give you something I think it might look a lot like that but there's a business card in there and so that's reach out to him I know he's got something for you how so you were right-handed yes so how's this going uh well enough thank you by the way this is this is pretty [ __ ] awesome I will definitely reach out that's really cool I've been looking into a 365s because my team leader carries one and it's a little more compact yeah you know if you look at go pull that out again yeah I think that's is that 17 rounds plus one so you get one in the pipe so 18 rounds and then they put that uh they put the ported uh slide in there which helps with the muzzle flip a lot and yeah been a a new Lefty that might help you out a lot most definitely I uh I've got um uh ported slide on three sides on my glock I do like I'm I'm a big one thing that's turned me towards Sig is the the ergonomics of it yeah it definitely fits in the hand a little better and even on the on the smaller pistols um from from what I've shot they don't they're slimmed down but they don't feel small if that makes sense uh definitely a big fan of that and um the airline thank you um had a rainfall honestly the best of us it happens to me all the time but you know you carry more medical than anybody I've heard of uh and I've asked a lot of people about their ADC on this show I'm betting that's because of what you've been through yeah were you carrying that much medical equipment before as a civilian not on my person I mean I always had um you know I keep keep a go bag in my car keep uh too much two first aid kits in my car and uh I would always carry a tourniquet on me um but I've definitely plused it up now because of of what's happened and I just being I've always through training been been confident in my my medical capabilities and administering Aid um and I mean we all see As Americans the way the world's going now um just around the world in general but uh you know if not that I I want to be the hero but if I can help someone whether it's my friends or family or a stranger I'll I will be that person to help um you know I mean I take pride in still trying to be as proficient at the things that I was before now figure out new ways to do stuff but I mean I can still I can still render age so I will do that if I if the
