greetings everyone hope all of you are having an absolutely fantastic day many many many of you have been asking for a breakdown of all the Companions and their Arch types it took me a while to get the entire crew but I have them now and I am happy to review this information your party members usually have home worlds or Origins that you can select in character creation so if you want to see more about those mechanics there are links to those videos in the description below if you enjoy seeing videos like this for crpgs be sure to leave a like And subscribe to the channel the first party member you'll get is abalar he is your CAW which basically means he's your right-hand man and he's also the very first party member you get abalar is from an imperial world and he has the Navy officer origin which automatically comes with the brace for impact feature abalar serves as your tank with high rankings in toughness weapon skill and strength I recommend you give him a few increases in strength so he can take heavy armor proficiency which will not only give him more armor but also increase his deflection rating as well helping him to be a much more effective tank he comes with high rankings in athletics and increasing it will not only allow him to pass athletic checks in the environment it will also ensure he can serve as your master of Maneuvers in ship combat as well speaking of which he gets two talents related to ship combat spin around is triggered when you use swing run and gives you more options for which direction your avid ship will face after turning around absolutely this is nice to have shortcut is triggered when you use new heading and this will reduce the cool down by one round I didn't use this ability so I cannot comment on the upgrade amalar comes with Proficiency in melto weapons which are basically heavy ranged weapons I never use them because he's obviously built for melee combat but the option is there he also automatically has the field medic Talent which allows him to use medits without the medicai skill and he gains an additional amount of wounds for using them equal to his toughness bonus for those who do not know your characteristic bonus is 10% of your total score rounded down in the beginning this Talent is definitely nice to have as it makes abalar more self-sufficient and he can use medits on party members as needed long term I make sure my entire team has enough points in medicai to use medits and abalar medicai score is always high since I only increase that and Athletics abalar disposition is benevolencia which is very interesting considering most of your companions are imperialist personally I don't think this comes up in discussion very much and he definitely carries himself like an imperialis his starting Arch type is Warrior and it's probably best to make him more of a tank which means you could focus more on damage if you chose this archetype as well and it wouldn't be a crowd you get two other Warrior party members but one is a psycher so you probably won't want him to strictly focus on Arch type abilities the other isn't recruitable until much later in the game and most players probably won't want to have him personally I found abalar to be one of the easiest characters to level put a few points into strength and get heavy armor proficiency focus on toughness and when that's not available pump his weapon skill stat build up the Athletics and medicai skills give them a weapon with a high amount of armor piercing when it's time to choose a second archetype I go with Vanguard to stick with building up tankiness honestly a minimum amount of support from party members will make abelard an absolute monster both defensively and offensively he's one of the strongest members of my team next on the list is a dear and she's another party member you pick up very early she's an unsanctioned psycher which means her psycher abilities are used as if her side rating was one level higher but she also has a high chance of triggering perils of the warp this is an origin that your character is unable to choose a deer has high reing in willpower perception and Agility Dodge will probably be her main defensive statistic so focus on Armor that doesn't impede it she has high ratings in Awareness Demolition and logic psychers who use their powers for damage or debuffing need to focus on Willpower which doesn't have any skills associated with it consequently you could just choose whatever skill you want and personally I have her take levels in low warp because it's very important and none of my party members focus on it this will help her take the warp Channeler void ship post and she has two ship talents exact prediction is trigger when you use ARC argur and this Talent will extend its bonus to plus three and it will last for two attacks instead of just one I had this ability but wasn't motivated to use it often so the upgrade doesn't move me high tide is triggered when you use warp wave and adds 10% to the damage I use this ability religiously so so absolutely this is a really nice upgrade to have adira automatically comes with the Divination and telepathy psycher categories unlocked along with their features for warning and psychic shriek in comparison you are only able to choose one psycher category when you are in character creation she also comes with a staff that lets you use lightning Arc which is essentially chain lightning a dear's disposition is hereticus which means if you are all about chaos she is definitely your girl her archetype is operative you get three operative party members who all focus on a different aspect of the archetype so it would probably help your team more to choose something different you have to make hard decisions when leveling aera because every time you increase our psycher abilities you are sacrificing her AR type abilities and vice versa it would behoove you to put some thought into what kind of psycher you want her to be if you want her to focus on damage then it will make sense to invest in both operative and psycher talents because psycher abilities are treated as weapon attacks operative is all about debuffing enemies to make them more vulnerable to your weapon attacks so this will do a lot for your damage if you want her to play more of a buff and debuff role then both telepathy and divination will give you those options and it might make more sense to go all psycher this will also help inform your upgrade path if you are focused on damage I would recommend Bounty Hunter whereas if you are more about buffing and debuffing think Grand strategist is the way to go regardless adira slides in and out of all those roles with ease if you need Firepower from the back line she's a great choice I cannot wait to use her more during a heretic run another party member you get in act one is arenta she is a battle sister and affir believer in the emperor she comes from an imperial world and she has the minor priest origin along with the warh him feature arenta has high ranks in ballistic skill perception and Agility letting you know right off top she's all about the guns she has the Marksman archetype and this provides a talent option called second skin which removes the Dodge penalty from medium armor I highly recommend you pick that up and use medium armor for her this is really nice for agenta because even though she is a ranged character you'll often times want to use burst weapon abilities that Target an area and must be deployed from a specific position for best effect consequently she will often times operate outside of cover and it's important that her personal defenses are up to Snuff she has high ratings in their awareness and demolition skills I will pump demolition as high as possible which will help her take the master canon ship position she has the void ship Talent Lance reload which allows your expedition's reload talent to also affect the proudland weapon although it will have a 25% hit chance penalty a 75% chance is still great for an attack I wouldn't otherwise have so yeah this is great to have arenta has Proficiency in Bolter and Flame weapons bolters typically have a higher rate of fire which makes their burst attacks absolutely devastating when combined with Marksman abilities they also have a longer range making it more likely you can hit hard to reach targets they also sound super cool and having an Imperium party member that uses one just feels right flame weapons can impact a wide area and absolutely destroy large groups of enemies there are also several talents which can be triggered when enemies are on fire personally I prefer bolters but you cannot go wrong with flame arenta also has Proficiency in power armor which I don't remember seeing until act three her disposition is Hardcore imperialist and she's one of the few party members who I don't think can be corrupted I'll give it my all during our chaos run but most likely we'll just have to put a few rounds in her and call it a day argenta's archetype is Marksman and as mentioned before she's more of a mid-range combatant so there's absolutely room on the team for a marksman sniper or maybe even someone who uses ranged heavy weapons up close she's another one who is super easy to level as you just keep pumping ballistic skill with the occasional splash of perception or agility when it's time to upgrade her archetype Arch militant provides some interesting options but I think Bounty Hunter makes her even more of a monster arenta is only good for damage but she's very good at what she does next on the list is Casia she's your Void chip Navigator which means she determines how you would Traverse through warp space this also gives her access to unique talents and abilities we will talk about later Casia is voidborn and automatically comes with the fortune feature she also gets the path of the open Soul Navigator Talent which gives all all enemies a negative a penalty on Resistance test against her powers Kasia has high ranks in willpower fellowship and perception if you want to focus on our archetype pump up Fellowship while her Navigator skills will get a lot out of willpower either way perception should be your secondary Choice as it makes the most sense to concentrate on Dodge for Casia and she has a navigator talent that let you use perception for Dodge instead of agility Kasia has high ranks in awareness coercion Commerce lore warp and persuasion if you are building up Fellowship then the conversation related skills are going to be much easier to increase and persuasion is the most important one if you are focusing on Navigator related talents then awareness or L warp makes more sense and I would focus on awareness since you'll be increasing perception periodically this will also help Casia take over the master of aetheric ship post she comes with three void ship talents we have already covered spin around leaking ather causes enemy void chips to suffer up to 35% of their maximum Hull as warp damage when you shallow jump through them I never Ed this ability but the description doesn't mention anything about damage so it seems like this gives you a way to attack that otherwise you wouldn't have this is definitely a fantastic upgrade determined scan ensures your vulnerability scan weak point never appears on the opposite side of an enemy voice Bo chip and adds 5% of the bonus damage you can deal yet another fantastic talent and you absolutely want Casia in one of those ship post cia's disposition is hereticus but she comes off as someone you can push in whatever Direction suits you her Arch type is Officer but similar to psychers she also has a full Suite of Navigator talents and abilities that you can choose from neither you nor your party members can gain access to this list this is a big reason why love has having my main character as a leader because it frees Casia to pick up navigator related abilities some of which are extremely powerful I like focusing on ones that Force enemies to move from their position while damaging them at the same time she can literally make an entire room of foes play musical chairs from a damage debuffing and crowd control standpoint Casia is absolutely incredible next on the list we have hinr he is an interrogator and works for the Lord Inquisitor within the Corona's expanse hrx is from an imperial world and he is a sanction psycher this means he's more socially acceptable to have on your team than adira and his psycher powers have less impact on the veil though they are also less powerful he has high ranks in weapon skill agility and willpower I use him as an off tank and equip the best medium armor I can find on my team armor matters more than Dodge because he has Buffs that g give him armor percentage increases there are some light armors which interact directly with your psycher rating but I didn't find any that I thought were really good for characters focused on melee combat hin gets high ranks in caruse coercion and demolition this is another case where he's not good for any particular skills so I just let him plug a skill Gap as far as space combat talents he gets leaking Aether which we have already discussed he also gets lateral impact which allows your stra AB ility to also Ram enemy ships at 80% of the usual damage personally I don't like this because ramming ships also damages your ship and if the ship explodes it will do major damage to you as well this is only worth it if you have invested a lot into the ram which in turn reduces how much damage it takes heimr comes with the biomancy psycher category already unlocked and he has the iron arm feature he also has Proficiency in melta Andrew Cari weapons hinr is another party member who is Hardcore imperialist but at the same time he is a psycho which means he is more vulnerable to the minations of chaos it might be wiggle room to push him into another Direction his arch type is Warrior and he comes with the endure and defensive Maneuvers talents similar to adira you can make a decision about focusing on psycher abilities or your Arc Type I focus on his psycher talents because biomancer is a fantastic start for a melee psycher and then you can quickly follow up by adding the santic powers category which will also increase your melee capabilities focus on weapon skill and then strength or toughness this turns himrich into someone who does fantastic damage can take a few punches serve as a Healer and a pinch and is a great buffer for both himself and abalar it's great to have him on the squad next on the list is Pascal he is a member of the adeptus mechanicus and serves as your resident Tech Guru he is from a forge world and has subskin armor providing an 11% armor bonus at this point he is more man than machines so he also has the part machine one Talent which gives him a plus one bonus to deflection a 10% bonus to armor and a Nega 5% penalty to dodge all of this should make it pretty clear that heavy armor is the way to go for him if you can spare the strength points he also gets scanner mandr which increases his perception by 10 Pascal doesn't use perception much but this bonus isn't bad to half finally he also gets machine Spirit communion which reduces The Recoil for all allies within a 10 cell radius by half while also imposing a percentage penalty the enemy's Dodge stat equal to twice his intelligence bonus in each case the exact opposite effect occurs for enemies and allies recoil only comes into play if you are using burst attack so your party members might not benefit much from it but the Dodge aspect of this ability is very useful regardless of your team makeup Pascal gets high ranks in weapon skill ballistic skill intelligence and perception again heavy armor is the way to go defensively so you can make use of the armor percentage increases this does mean you need to syn a talent into characteristic training strength and then increase it two more times personally I think that sacrifice is worth it if you are playing on core or above Pascal gets high ranks in Awareness logic low Imperium low warp low xenos medicai and Tech use you should be pumping intelligence constantly so many of these stats will increase naturally I think it's worth taking a couple of skill talents to increase logic and Tech use both of them will come up consistently throughout the game and the numbers you need to clear are Sky High so it's worthwhile to invest in them focusing on Tech use will also make it easier for him to own the shield Master ship Ro shockingly Pascal doesn't get any void chip related talents he has proficiency with melta plasma and Bolter weapons giving him a Bolter just feels wrong and I have never used Mela options but plasma weapons work quite well they have alternate attack options that increase the damage and they get regular upgrades Pascal is an imperialist but he is also on a journey for knowledge and self-discovery you have some influence over how he views this quest for knowledge and it seems like there might be room for corruption Pascal has the operative archetype and this comes with the analyze enemies feature along with the exposed weakness ability and the talents dismantling attack and passive learning he's incredible in this role debuffing enemy stats to Oblivion and helping the entire team I obviously focus on intelligence with nut strength for heavy armor and the rest in weapon skill you can make the case for switching that last one of Fellowship so he's a more capable Grand strategist but that's very contrary to his personality so I don't bother with it regardless Pascal is fantastic it's setting enemies up to take major damage from the rest of your squad and he has a permanent spot on my team next on the list is Jay she's from an imperial world and she's also a cold Trader which means she's heavily involved with the illegal sell of xenos related artifacts this gives her the cold Traders Acumen Talent which increases her lore Imperium Tech use Commerce coercion and persuasion skills based on your reputation with different vendors in the game by act three I had reputations around five or six with some of these vendors so the increases from this Talent can be quite substantial Jay also gets Gunslinger which is triggered when she is fighting with a weapon in both hands and causes the attack from the second hand to not cost any additional action points this is obviously a big deal it makes her very effective in dual weapon combat she comes with a pistol in both hands to hammer home the point she also gets never play fair which lets Jay use her fellowship or intelligence score for intelligence-based skills whichever one is higher she also gets one roll on failed Commerce tests so basically you could use her as a replacement for Pascal while still covering all of the critical persuasion skills Jay comes with high ranks in weapon skill ballistic skill willpower and fellowship she should be fighting at rain so cover and positioning is what protect her the most Jay does come with the Nimble Talent giving her a 10% increase in Dodge so you might as well lean into that and wear light armor she has high ranks in coercion Commerce lower Imperium lower xenos persuasion and Tech use logic is missing the bonus from never play fair but it should be one of the skills that has a high rank as well obviously Jay is the ultimate skill monkey and you can focus on whichever ones help your team this makes her fantastic for a supreme commander role in your ship and she has three void ship talents take it easy reduces the cool down and focus efforts by one turn which is fantastic because the more you can use pulse abilities the faster ship fights will go perfect pulse increases the range of ship pulse by one and removes the shields penalty this is bananas and let you use one of the best void chip debuffs essentially cost free great stuff finally instant control let you use torpedo control on the same turn a torpedo is lost this is even more bananas because often times you'll end your turn close to enemy ships you are unable to destroy if you use an ability to deploy a torpedo and then immediately navigated towards enemies that's extremely powerful there's a strong case to be made that even if Jay is not part of your regular team you should still stick her on the ship post to make use of her incredible talents Jay has Proficiency in alari and jukari weapons while also being a solid projectile and lost weapon expert this allows Jay to use several different types of weapons very competently she also has the Swift movements Talent which gives her two additional movement points her disposition is benevolencia making her the only party member besides abalar who lands in this direction she has the officer Arch type which is fantastic but I don't like it for her considering all the talents for great range combat Marksman or operative would have been a much better start in my opinion but it is what it is by the time you recruit her she's level 15 already so you don't get to choose any of her officer talents instead you can choose how she upgrades and I would take Master tactician because it provides a lot of different ways to significantly increase the damage Jay does obviously you will want to repeatedly increase Fellowship along with Ballistic skill as well n big fan of her build but Jay is a fantastic skill monkey void ship officer and from what I have experienced of her romance it's pretty entertaining as well next up we have yur leet she is one of two zenos party members you can recruit and while you cannot get her into act to that's still way earlier than your other xenos option she's Ford born and has the fortune Talent she also gets the children of a Syrian which allows her to increase agility perception and awareness regardless of what archetype she is using she also gets a 15% increase to dodge and a plus two bonus to initiative very nice all the way around she also gets alari weapon and armor proficiency this is actually a big deal because alari equipment is light so it has no Dodge penalty but it provides a bonus to your armor similar to medium or heavy equipment this makes your leet one of your most protected party members even though she is a ranged combatant finally she also gets in my sites which lets her use two action points to select an enemy that she will automatically attack at the beginning of her next turn this is fantastic for your action economy apply your Buffs and debuffs attack use this ability automatically attack on the next turn at no AP cost to you and then repeat the cycle anytime you know an enemy will be sticking around just pop this on them urad has high ranks in ballistic skill agility and intelligence and perception I will pump ballistic skill then perception and put a dash of agility in there obviously dodg is her main defensive mechanic so don't use armor that limits it she has high ranks in Awareness demolition logic lore warp lore xenos and medicai along with tuse of these obviously she should be the resident xenos expert on your team you also definitely need somebody skilled in Awareness so she can cover that as as well she has two Shi talents but we have already covered instant control and determined scan uret comes with loss and chain weapon expertise along with the Swift movements Talent she has no disposition or at least not one you can see and it's not clear how much she can be pushed in One Direction or another her Arch type is operative but instead of focusing on debuffs like Pascal she's all about using her talents to increase her damage against single targets she's already level 15 by the time you get her so the game is done the work for you picking great options like sniping spot precise attack and Sharpshooter to ensure that she's perfect in this role it's worth noting that unlike arenta and Jay she's really built to be a sniper which is extremely valuable on your squad because again a lot of enemies aren't hard to reach well- entrenched places she won't do a whole lot of debuffing for the team but she help herself tremendously and pick off those Targets in the process for her upgrade archetype personally I like Assassin because it fits in more with her take advantage of weak points initial setup Bounty Hunter is also a worthy choice but I don't think Grand strategist really works for her bottom line uet is a great option for a little bit of debuffing combined with a tremendous long range Firepower coming up next we have the party member many of you were probably waiting for olar he's a space Wolf which is a chapter of Space Marines Space Marines are essentially considered to be superhuman far larger and more powerful than any other characters you encounter on that note olar is larger than any other party member you recruit and takes up four squares instead of just one he also is incapable of taking cover alar cannot be recruited until act three he gets the Eternal Warrior Talent which is triggered once per combat when he falls unconscious and instead makes him stay inactive for two rounds during which time he cannot be targeted and is immune to damage while also counting as full cover for allies after these two rounds he returns with 50% of his maximum wounds this sounds great but in my experience even in tough fights when a party member goes down the battle is over two rounds later if it's not over that probably means my team has been completely overrun and him getting up after two rounds isn't helping that much long story short I find this unimpressive he also gets curs of the wolfen which can be activated for two action points and reduces his resolve to zero for one round but also provides a plus 20 bonus to strength and weapon skill every time he deals damage to an enemy that round they must pass a willpower test or suffer an additional 4% critical hit chance and 8% critical damage against incoming attacks until the end of combat boss killer do whatever it takes for him to damage a boss and then let the other allies absolutely go to town alar has adep as to startus equipment and that means only certain objects can be equipped on his character whether it be weapons armor or accessories he is very particular and sometimes will not equip something even if it's not readily apparent why he comes with the wolf skin power armor which gives him a massive increase in armor and deflection along with a plus 20 bonus to the strength it's by far the best armor I have seen in the game he also gets the wolf pelt cloak which provides a 10% increase to armor and whenever he has performed a ranged and melee attack in the same turn all enemies smaller than him within a five- cell radius get a stack of perplexed this debuff stacks and gives enemies a negative 10 penalty to ballistic skill weapon skill intelligence and perception test no question it's a powerful way to make a lot of enemies weaker especially since the vast majority of them will be smaller than alar he also comes with three unique weapons olar's got a one-handed Bolter which probably does more damage and has more armor penetration than the one arenta is currently using he's also got a two-handed Bolter which absolutely has more damage armor penetration and range than you have ever seen on a Bolter up to that point he also has a combat knife which you can use as an offhand weapon if you kill your target with this knife you can get one action point back and can make an additional attack with it more on all of this later aler comes with high ranks in athletics awareness caruse demolition and persuasion what you should focus on depends on how he slots into your team you should have this worked out by the time you recruit him as far as void ship talents he does have shortcut which we have already talked about along with double wall which is triggered when you use reinforce Shields and has a 50% chance to reinforce one random void ship sector very nice defensive ability so it might be worth slotting him ofar comes with plasma melta flame and Bolter weapon proficiency he also has the Dual weapon combat talent and dueling Mastery which increases his Parry by 15% finally he also has combat Master which prevents enemies from Gaining melee superiority against him both of those last two talents make him significantly more tanky oar is Hardcore imperialist and it's very hard to Envision moving him from that spot his first Arch type is Marksman and his upgrade Arch type is Arch mil unlike the other party members we have mentioned you don't get to choose his upgrade archetype as he is already level 25 when you get him Arch militant is all about switching between different attack types to get more stacks of right tool for the job a very useful buff usually you would switch between ranged and melee attacks but for allar I recommend switching between burst and singleshot ranged attacks this is because he starts as a marksman and is significantly Superior at range combat compared compared to melee combat the game will have already selected fantastic options like revelent Slaughter rapid fire bullet hell and unpredictable to make him a rang monster burst fire with his two-handed Bolter is just about always the right move when it is his turn Arch meliton excels at making characters effective when using heavy or two-handed range weapons this includes letting off our used bolters within melee range which is obviously very helpful unfortunately the devs wasted half of his arch talents picking things that aren't really useful for him like plasma weapon expert but you still have room to pick other choices that will debuff enemies when you shoot at them or add to your critical damage overall from a low standpoint alone having ofar on the team is fantastic and he comes with some pretty sweet gear while also being a unique Frontline comat last but certainly not least we have marai he is a jukari which are are considered to be some of the most brutal and evil creatures in the Warhammer Universe you cannot recruit him until act three and he'll already be level 29 by that time I didn't have to lose anybody to get him but it's pretty obvious many party members are not pleased by my decision to recruit him so it's not clear if I can keep him without losing a bunch of people obviously he gets duari armor and weapon proficiency I don't find jukari armor to be impressive like alari options but the weapons are definitely nice with some of them having bleeding effects when enemies fail toughness test he also gets power from pain which is triggered anytime a creature within a five cell radius is burning bleeding poison or stunned and it gives them a stacking plus three bonus to strength and willpower along with one temporary wound absolutely perfect for the pyromancer psycher I plan to pair him with he also gets joyful torture which allows you to deal rending damage to him equal to his strength bonus and causes him to bleed while also increasing his resolve by three at this point in the game you should have a ton of ways to increase resolve that don't include Ming yourself so I don't find this very useful marai gets high ranks in weapon skill strength and Agility obviously he has a monster Dodge stat and you should wear light armor to ensure it remains unaffected he also has high ranks in athletics Cruse Demolition and L zenos similar to alar what you focus on depends on what your team needs and you'll know what that is by the time you get to act three marai doesn't have any voidship talents but he does have dueling Mastery combat master and dual weapon combat all of which we have previously discussed his disposition is enlisted but it's pretty obvious he leans towards hereticus and there's very little possibility he can be rehabilitated his initial Arch type is Warrior but unlike Abal lard he definitely leans towards pure damage blade flurry Reckless strike rigorous training and desolation all serve to help make him a melee monster his upgrade archetype is Assassin which is absolutely perfect seek the opening and ey for the unscathed lone killer elusive Shadow seize the advantage and bringer of Doom all serve to make him a melee force on the field the unfortunate issue with marai is unlike allar he doesn't come with unique equipment that basically makes him ready to go so you better be prepared to outfit him properly I think this is a very odd choice on the developer part and hope it is changed upon full release despite that once he is fully geared there's no question marsai is a fantastic Frontline companion who is focused on dissection that wraps up all the information I have regarding companions I will continue making videos on this game leading up to release so let me know if there's any other content you are looking for hope all of you enjoyed this video take care
