welcome to your weekend weather update from the met office slow moving weather patterns at the moment across the uk we have high pressure nearby but we also have this waving wriggling weather front out to the east and it's going to be a bit of a scrap between which one wins out eventually the high pressure will topple in but this weather front is going to linger across the east for most of saturday before eventually fizzling out and pushing down to the southwest as the high pressure eventually squeezes that weather fronts away and takes control but as it does so it introduces more of an easterly breeze and that is going to bring a colder feel particularly across central and eastern parts of england by sunday let's rewind the clock then and take a look at the detail for the weekend this weather front is still very much in place then across these eastern parts on saturday so it could be quite a wet day for southeast scotland northeast england and further south too dampened drizzly for parts of the midlands east anglia and the south east under that rain bands with the fairly brisk winds coming in from the north sea is going to feel pretty cold i suspect whereas for most of scotland northern ireland wales it'll be dry with some sunny spells in the west of england as well maybe just the old shower here and there but some temperatures single figures for most so again pretty cool for the time of year certainly colder than it has been if you're stuck under that rainbow it's going to feel pretty bleak i suspect on some of those north sea coast five or six degrees in newcastle scarborough with that breeze off the sea and the fairly persistent rain now that weather front does finally get pushed away by the high pressure toppling in it's just trickles down to the southwest as we go through saturday night and into sunday and it could still provide some showers on sunday across parts of south wales and southwest england maybe listen over the brecon beacons as it starts to ebb away and then for most places with that high pressure in control dry difficult to say how much sunshine we'll have i suspect northwest scotland northern ireland will have a decent amount generally quite a lot of cloud across the country but even fringland and wales we'll see some sunny spells and with a slice where we've got the rain on saturday a much brighter day but it's still not going to be particularly warm temperatures again for the most part below average generally only six or seven degrees celsius and as i said at the start that easterly wind if you add that on it's going to make it feel really quite cold across parts of the midlands and eastern england especially so a pretty chilly feel certainly compared to what we have through much of february and january so slow-moving weather patterns but plenty going on still through this weekend make sure you stay up to date with the very latest by following the met office across social media
