Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Once the parts for this type of conversion come down in price, this will be the coolest thing that comes out of the EV market. These older cars require less power (10 or 12 circuits of electric) and have stand-alone systems (no power steering, no AC, no brake boost from the intake). So swapping in a power plant can be simpler (CAN be). Also, they are lighter, but definitely not better in a crash. My point is that this would be much harder to do with a more modern car because the systems are more complex. The 70s British cars like the MG or the Triumph, or the Italian Fiats and even the German Porsche from the same era would be great candidates. Despite the down votes u/kontrasticus is getting, I would also hate to see some of the high-value cars get torn up for any reason.
This guy makes some absolutely beautiful mods. This is what Iām after!! https://twitter.com/elecclassiccars/status/1309865283100835847
Not only built in a day, but the video (and car) sponsor, Octopus Energy, gave it to one of their customers on Dec 30th, along with a year's free electricity to charge it.
i had one of these in the same color...
