hello again the weekend offers some spring sunshine for most of us but also still a hint of a winter chill high pressure is trying to build in but we've had this weather front sticking across eastern parts and that is sticking around into the weekend here's a little ridge of high pressure it looks like it's going to be swamped by this rather fierce looking area of low pressure but actually that's going to scoot away to the south the high will topple in bringing most of us a dry weekend but look at this weather front just sticking in there across parts of eastern england still bringing rain and drizzle across this area as we head through saturday it's not really until saturday night and sunday that the high finally kind of squeezes away that weatherfront and brings most of us a dry day on sunday but at the same time as it moves in the winds coming in from the east will bring a pretty cold feel certainly across the south so that's the broad picture through the weekend let's rewind and take you through the details this weather front sticking around as i said bringing rain and drizzle across eastern england overnight we will see maybe one or two showers further west and a bit more cloud maybe over the midlands but for much of scotland northern ireland it's dry and clear and it will turn frosty patchy frost for northwest england wales and maybe even southwest england as well under the cloud and rain with that weather front temperatures will hold up a few degrees above freezing but elsewhere certainly getting close to freezing even in towns and cities and in rural spots we will be well below maybe minus five and one or two locations across scotland and northern ireland so a cold start here to the weekend a frosty old start but we should see plenty of sunshine maybe a little bit of early morning fog in a few spots sunny spells too for much of wales and western england it's further east where we're going to have this cloud and rain now some uncertainty about how far it's going to creep and whether the rain will just tend to come and go all day or whether it'll be stuck under persistent rain but there is the threat of that certainly for parts of east yorkshire lincolnshire east anglia and the southeast looks pretty dull and damp here for much of the day at times that rain could drift into the midlands but much of the west midlands fine and sunny and certainly elsewhere plenty of spring sunshine but really can have a huge impact on the temperatures and certainly if you're stuck under that cloud and rain across the east five six degrees maybe squeaking up to seven in norwich and london that's going to feel pretty grim for the time of year further west we could reach double digits in one or two places certainly eight nine ten celsius fairly typical with light winds not feeling too bad at all across scotland and northern ireland quite quickly though temperatures here will fall again on saturday nights with those clear skies we will again see a frost now weatherfront is finally going to start to bring more patchy rain further west and also kind of start to fizzle out as we go through the night so we're just left with a few showers across the midlands southern england maybe south wales as we head into sunday but they should be easing away still a fair bit of cloud across the south but again good spells of sunshine for northern england north wales northern ireland and scotland having another blue sky day on sunday that easterly wind will be picking up though so that's going to be noticeable even though it's drier for eastern england it's not much warmer still only six seven maybe eight celsius but add on that wind and it will feel colder elsewhere again with a bit of sunshine eight nine maybe ten celsius across parts of scotland and west wales along with northern ireland so the outlook is for largely dry conditions through this weekend but don't expect much in the way of warmth and that damp weather persisting over eastern england on saturday for more information make sure you're following us across social media
