you and you alone deserve it thank you for being so gracious and so kind to us father even many times throughout the busyness of our day god we forget to take those moments to thank you so right here in your presence tonight we put a praise a thank you on our lips thank you for just blessing us and keeping us father we ask god that you will be in the midst of us tonight that everything that's said and done bring glory and honor to your name for you alone are worthy and it's in your name jesus we pray let everyone say amen all right let's go to the 100th division of psalm we know this so i'm and we are all worshipers it's innate in us to worship you don't get to choose not to be a worshiper we are all worshipers but the question is what is the subject of your worship [Music] what does your worship flow to and so tonight the song is speaking to us that we should desire our worship to flow toward god that means um he should be the center of our activity that our relationship with god should be the foremost priority and every other relationship in our lives streams from our relationship with god it's hard to love your spouse if you don't love god it's hard to love your your employees and your employer your family your friends when you don't love god because god is when it comes to god love is just not what he does love is who he is and to understand the true definition of love is to know god and so tonight our prayer is that we're forever everything we do in our daily walk and our daily activities and any trophy or award or certificate any crown or any degree that somehow [Music] god is not nervous about your situation tell your neighbor god is not nervous [Music] or intimidated by your situation i ain't going to tell you the whole thing to say but just tell many minutes are left in the clock while everybody else is packing and leaving he always somehow he'll always get the glory man eggman somehow somehow some way somehow i gotta make this journey [Music] you ain't got to scream at nobody but tell them glory is coming out of this you will come out of the fire and you won't even smell like smoke glory is coming up [Music] somebody you watching online tonight i just want to encourage you and there's glory in this don't discount your journey i know you want god to hurry up and get you out of it and take you over and take you around it but don't discount your journey glory i know you can't wait to get to the destination but there are some things you're going gonna pick up in the journey that's gonna cause the destination to make sense hallelujah encourage two people in your section tell them it's in the journey it's in the journey it's in the journey where you get a revelation of god it's in the journey it's in the journey [Music] nothing for my journey now thank god for my journey because i've had a i've got history with god i've walked with god more than two weeks and because i've walked with him you can't make me doubt it you can't make me doubt it hallelujah all of us go through moments but i'm gonna take my chances with god because somehow he always always get stupid hallelujah always gets the glory it's for my good and it's for his glory amen [Music] thank the lord [Music] you know i believe praise is one of the greatest manifestations of faith because people say they believe but when you can praise god before you get to the conclusion of the matter it says that you actually believe that late in the midnight hour god is going to turn this thing around in some kind of way is it's gonna work in my favor but somehow he'll always get the glory amen look at your neighbor testify to him tell him i'll take my chances with god where am i going where am i going where am i going i tried other things some of y'all some of y'all talking about i searched all over you never searched and i'm not judging you but i searched i searched in some other places hallelujah i searched i tried to find satisfaction in some other things my mind entertained other avenues i considered my options hallelujah i entertained some things saints that ain't everybody's testimony and i'm not trying to make it yours but i entertain some things but i'ma tell you it brought me right back to god where can i go where can i go from your presence david says if i make my bed in hell and i did and he showed up he showed up and loaded bar for me i thought i was somewhere in hiding running for my identity as the son of a king how and he came to load above he came into a place of no pastor he said i could have won another direction but i must need go through samaria tell your neighbor he came through samaria for me i wasn't on your itinerary and i wasn't on your agenda but god made a stop just for me hallelujah somehow even when i made the wrong decision and chose the wrong path somehow he always got [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] me [Music] i forgot how these wednesday night bible studies go i forgot i made some wrong turns [Music] made some real bad decisions some decisions i didn't think i will recover from but somehow he went before me and calculated my mistakes he calculated the mistakes i made before i made them so when i thought i was behind schedule [Music] he said no no we on schedule i had already put your spit spot your pit stop was already calculated [Music] amen thank y'all so much thank you if you're if you're watching online we welcome you to the ram church and you that are in the sanctuary it is so good to be back at the mother church tonight why don't you clap your hands and thank god for you so if you need to praise god i'm not gonna try to legislate the way you express yourself today because i get it look at somebody tell them i get it i get it i get it i get it i get it i know what it is you just feel like praising god in such a way you don't know what to do [Music] but when i was dead in my transgression amen [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah i'm so encouraged when i see families worship together and praise god together because god doesn't just answer the prayers of the grown people he is the prayers of the children and even when i see the crutchfield kids run around the church somehow he'll always [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] i don't care what your marriage has been through i don't care what your family has been through somehow he'll always he'll always get [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] father we just thank you so much [Music] hear these praises from a grateful heart each time we think of you the praises start we love you so much we love you so much thank you for not kicking us to the curb [Music] just lift up your hands and tell the lord thank you for not quitting on me when i walked away from you and i resigned from your presence you came pursuing me [Music] and anytime i thought i wasted a loss you'll get the glory from tears i cry you'll get the glow somehow [Music] amen thank you jesus wow [Music] it's a blessing to be back in bible study may week service with your family and uh we know a lot has uh transpired over the last couple of months because of convocation and so many different things and we're getting ready to go into another series of our women's bible study men's ministry so we thank god for this opportunity to be together with the family and i know some of you if physically if you could be here you would be here but you're watching online tonight so we're thankful for all of you in the presence of the lord i want to thank the staff here at the church that keeps the church running every day let us clap our hands and let's thank god that's tomorrow all of you all of you beyond a church service they are working morning and night keeping the church going the functions of the umbrella of our organization and i want to thank the young men who travel with me up and down the road to make sure i get to my destination safely and get me back for service y'all know the airport here is small so flights don't always work in our favor to be able to do all that god is calling for us to do and so i'm thankful for those individuals that are behind the scenes and you may not ever know who all it is but they they know who they are the lord sees and sometimes we uplate and leaving early and i'm so thankful that god blessed us with traveling mercy to get here there were times i used to say things in my ignorance when i didn't know any better and i believe god gives us grace when we speak in ignorance i used to say a long time ago that uh i don't know why a preacher needs an airplane a preacher don't need no airplane [Music] you can just ride the plane that everybody else ride he don't need no no private jet maybe some of them don't but i need one and i'm i'm actually starting to build my faith for one man and it's this is a crazy thing it's funny it's right a part of the vision of the church 16 years ago was that we would it didn't ever say our airplane it set a runway and if y'all remember if you ever memorized the vision you know it said runway it never said airplane and if we if and if god would give us a vision for our runway that's indicative of what he desires to put on it single barren woman because i'm going to bless you with children more children than you ever thought you would have and so i'm believing god for the airplane so i can still go between brazil and d.c here in pakistan and ramp alley on the west coast and make all of them that i need to make amen will you believe with me now i actually believe in me i didn't ask you to pay for it because don't you know god can use one man i was talking to minister derek and many of you all know he works in new york at the view and he works with whoopi goldberg and he facetimed me the other day and he was talking we were just talking having catching up conversation she said well i got to go to the plane it's about to leave i said you know you're on a plane he said yes i'm on i'm on a private jet with whoopi we're getting ready to take off and he was just sitting so casual right and i said well let me see what it looks like on the inside you know you try not to act like you're impressed right when you're around other people like i'm like [Music] and he showed it to me and i said lord uh uh do we thank god for miss uh goldberg and anybody else who has what they have to do what they do i said well lord if you can do it for secular people who are entertaining the flesh how much can you do it for the saints as saving souls amen and so uh i want to share with you all that i went to meet with a pastor and i haven't told you all this yet pastors i went to meet with a pastor have lunch with a pastor yesterday in washington d.c just to meet with them and fellowship because we start in this church in d.c and we want to make sure we build relationships and i told him it's on me i just want to take you to lunch and when we went out for lunch he said you don't realize it's an honor for me to be sitting at the table with you i said me he said yes he says everyone has been discussing the fact that you're coming to the dmv and he says i'm honored that you would invite me to lunch and he says i don't want to talk i just want to glean from you all i want to say is one thing the lord gave me i said well what is it that the lord gave you he says that your yes just took care of the next transaction for the church and i said he said you're not going to need a bank for what you're about to do he said the lord is going to release to you property in the dmv and he says and he says i believe it so much here's a check for a thousand dollars i want to be a person to sow into it this is a pastor of another church and he said this is not my last seed that i'm going to sow i want you to know that people are discussing you and people that don't even know you are waiting on you and then the moment you start walking in faith you want provision before you declare your vision but the moment you start walking in faith god is going to start releasing resources your direction and i want you to just lift up your hands and thank god for open doors i think come on just lift up the answer thank god for ways being made divine connections taking place in jesus name in jesus name and so i'm excited about it [Music] if he said a runway that means there's a plane [Music] some of you all don't even realize brother felix there goes our church felix chamoy he's from dominica and when the hurricane hit dominica a few years ago because he was actually born in puerto rico which is a united states province it allowed him the opportunity other than some of his other family members to actually come to the united states he came to the united states to be with family members in new jersey displaced from his mother and his other family members because their school was demolished because of the hurricane he came and went with his family to church during a revival and that was a night that we went up there for revival and after being up there revival after service he just walked to the office behind me just weeping and says can i speak to you i've never felt this i never experienced this before and he shared with me a story i said what where uh what are you doing next he said i got i'm gonna go to college i don't know where i said you should apply to liberty university and uh make a long story short he applied he's here on a track scholarship and um and he's here all summer because every day he's in the air because he's in school to be a pilot if god said runway that means plain and if god says plain that means he's going to provide a pilot so i'm asking lord give him all the training he needs that's right amen amen as many hours as he needs but at least there'll be somebody i can call and like is everything okay up there it's okay bishop yes all right everybody okay you all okay y'all good i mean y'all saved yes ma'am uh it's a it's a brother's getting baptized here tonight right brother brother andrew one of your friends is getting baptized tonight let's thank god for him in jesus name i'm just i'm blessed that you will come down here with us to get baptized tonight baptism is very important to us it's important to jesus that's why jesus says he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved if you're watching online or sitting in a sanctuary you've never been baptized i want you to know there is no special day of the year that we baptize there's no special the time or hour of the day we baptize baptism is so scriptural and so important to us that we baptize any time of day or night amen amen not twice a year that ain't scriptural and uh we just the water is always ready ain't that right digging giles the water is always ready with a little bit of chlorine and you know anything we need in it amen uh we're wrapping up now we have q a in these last 20 minutes if you do have a question you can give it to the uh elder claude and he'll bring it up here and give it to us wave your hand on the claw but do we do any of you all struggle with saying no yes right yes and i know everybody want to be like they don't have that struggle but some a lot of us more people who will admit it struggle with saying no now some of you don't because you're lazy but i'm talking about us making sure we have a healthy balance of establishing boundaries and see the reason why it's a challenge because oftentimes what we need to say no to some things all things are not bad right how many have been guilty of signing up for more committees than you should be on or part of at work if you're in the educational system if you work with the civic community or even in church because we have this challenge in church we have a challenge in using new people because we always go to the people we out that we know they can do it right and so that that fixes it what where one person in a church operating in four positions because we know they can do it right we know their ability and then those people because we ask them you know they don't want to say no but tell the person beside you tell them you have permission to say no even to good things right now there's some things god has called you to do you got to surrender to it but you got to be able to discern between god ideas and good ideas and so we were having those conversations and i was having with pastor whiskey pastor weske took me to the scripture go pastor whiskey we're gonna go and we're gonna go to mark chapter one and we'll begin our reading in verse 35. mark chapter one uh verse 35 and i'm in the new international version in the little caption over the beginning of this section of scripture says jesus prays in a solitary place verse 35 very early in the morning while it was still dark jesus got up left the house and went off to a solitary place where he prayed simon and his companions went to look for him and when they found him they exclaimed everyone is looking for you and i think the king yeah i think yes and jesus replied let us go somewhere else to nearby villages so i can preach there also that is why i have come so he traveled throughout galilee what's that he totally yeah he totally did and just a little backdrop to to the beginning of verse 35 jesus had been at their house the day before healing and doing that thing that jesus does healing and casting out demons and then he stays the night then he goes up to pray so they come to seek for him after all the good that he had already done they came looking for him like hey there they're still they're back there they're all looking for you keep going because that was awesome yesterday yeah and jesus says let's go wow yeah and and and we let's look at it they had an opportunity the first day and there's some people while you're pouring out pouring out pouring out they won't take advantage of the moment that you're pouring but they want extra from you the next day you know if if what i have is something you need then you need to show up where i am absolutely you know what are you what are you always saying i love this when you said this the cover is not searching for you you got to search for the cover yeah that's what jesus said it was like all men seek thee all men seek thee and jesus was like all right let's go and i think we have to learn how to protect our value too because if you don't resp if if if you don't mandate that people respect your time then they're not going to respect it amen amen you have you have to establish healthy boundaries you know even with meetings i much as i loved i love to meet with our people and even in counseling i established the time in counseling because if not it can go for three or four hours and after a while you came to meet with me to talk to me and i'm not never got a chance to give you much feedback you know you just use the counseling session as a as a sounding board and so you have to protect your time and and then also the lord can discern too who who was i'm not going to say worthy of the blessing but who was posture to prepare for it because sometimes we're trying to give people something that they're not postured and prepared to receive and the bible so don't take what's holy and give it to dogs and don't take your pearls and give them the pigs amen amen and one of the things i find about about counseling and that just to dovetail into that for a moment so often times i have counseled people my wife and i or pastor marvin has been sitting with somebody and counseling them and then we will or i have personally been in a service or been somewhere and bishop happens to preach about the coming right down the and i look over like uh and you know on your phone you summon and it's like this is here here's your answer sometimes when we come to the house of god and we've got deep problems you all know what i'm talking about we've got some real issues when we come when we approach the the word when bishop's going to preach come expecting counsel come expecting counsel because because god will give it to him god will say it but if but if we come almost mournful and distracted and not but counsel comes over the pulpit and so often times if we were really tuned into it you wouldn't you wouldn't need us you wouldn't need it right that's why the bible says give earnest most earnest heat to the word that at any time you should not let it slip and this is why the preaching of the word should have our greatest focus the teaching of the word sometimes that's when people zone out you know nobody's really zoned out while the music is going while we're shouting and dancing that's good but you can shout and dance at home by yourself how can you hear without a preacher how can they preach lest they've been sent man shall not live by bread alone but every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of god this is the time where you're supposed to eat the word of god this is the time you're given instruction and teaching and the enemy will do anything he can to distract you from it and then you'll wonder how in the world do i go to church every week but i'm still starving and then you're trying to feed off of other stuff and you're feeding off of the junk and you're feeding off a bunch of reality tv shows but then you come to church yes you among everything but you're never eating and that's why it's very important for we need to realize we who serve in the temple you know i used to hear my mother say all the time she's like i need to eat something i'm like hold on this is thanksgiving day you haven't ate anything but people who do all the cooking come on people who do all the cooking all the serving while everybody else is eating now they're thinking about cleaning up and packing up and making it to gold plates and for you look up hold on my head is hurting i haven't eaten all day and i want you to tell the person besides you tell them you get to eat too all right i'm going to ask you a question pastor marvin oh go ahead now i like to in the scripture where it says all the men were looking for him and he didn't see popularity and and it made me think of years ago bishop when you were invited to preach at the azusa centennial which you love azuza we know this but you have made an assignment you already made a previous engagement to preach at a smaller place so how did you know that wasn't because azusa all the preachers there the the attention that you could have gotten and not even just not even that azusa but how did you know no i need to stick to this assignment this other assignment i've struggled with it before um but i know character matters and what i talked about on sunday character matters if i change my plans because it's a bigger platform or i change my plans because there's more money available to me then who am i serving am i serving god or my servant mammon and the bible says you can't serve two masters and i believe the lord sometimes tests us with those things now have i ever changed my plans before yes i've changed my plans before because i felt led you know i felt the spirit leading but i've always had i think even i told elder claude and i had this conversation yesterday i said i feel god is sending me another direction on a whole another day that i wouldn't take an invitation and i said so i told the preacher i said let me pray about it and then i talked with elder claw i went through all of this i talked to other claude i said well this is what the lord had already said to me concerning this person before i even had a door to speak to this individual and so i lined those things up and says okay that's god minister derek held it against me for a long time because and you all heard them talk about it when we it was um north carolina ant state university had an event their homecoming their big homecoming this is before the ramp even started and we had a community car called shekinah and they had north carolina auntie's choir they had mary mary jackson jesse jackson was speaking and they invited us to come sing but i had already accepted an invitation to a church in hurt virginia and it's oh no cause we gotta we're gonna that's gonna be a big event i was like no we already told elle the pain we coming they said we can go there anytime yet are you serious and i really did have a strong conviction just because people seek you don't mean you should be there you shouldn't always be where the place where people are seeking you because sometimes god will take you to a place to hide you the bible says he took him to a solace place jesus went to a solid place he went to a place alone and sometime i i believe that what we look like what we call being held back or being looked over was really god's protection one of the things that that that we can often find is god will try us in something in a situation where it could have been and see how you're going to behave in doing the thing that maybe you didn't want to do but did it anyway and the spirit in which you did in the spirit in which you did it yeah that story in in first samuel where where the the people of the city that it stole the ark of the covenant were getting tumors and they said i think it's because we got the ark what we'll do the leaders get together they say here's what we'll do first samuel 6. we're going to take uh two milk cows and we'll take them away from their newborn calves and we'll put the ark on that and we'll send it back down to the jewish folks in bethlehem and if we put that on the cart and them two milk cows leave their babies to bring it home then we'll know it's god so they did all of that and the bible said that them two milk cows walked away from their babies lowing all the way blowing uh-huh sometimes doing the will of god is we just would do it anyway i you know if i had to turn my back on azusa to go preach at some i'd have been like oh but sometimes we're going to do the will of god anyway and that's why obedience is an action but willingness is an attitude and the bible says if you be willing and obedient to eat the good of the land and what i'm asking god to do in me not only give me the will and to to do don't not only give me the do but also give me the will give me the desire to do it right so when god calls me to do something it it may be lowering in the beginning but i don't want to load all the way all the way yeah you know right you know at some point there should be some spiritual maturity should come about with my relationship with god so number real after a while when i'm talking to some of you all um about your your walk with the lord and about fulfilling your calling sometimes it's not a p it wouldn't be appealing to sinners you know it's like ah cause you know god won't man i'm just gonna have to surrender like is he worthy of at all you know you know i was like girl gosh you got me in lynchburg i mean all right calm down i mean are you in the will of god what happened to the safest places in the will of god oh how much i love god wherever you send me i cross the hottest desert travel near and far for your glory i would do anything i mean the way we're so passionate about doing the will of god will be attractive to sinners to make them want to fall in love with them oh help me god come to reality but when we're when we're always i mean okay lowing in the beginning but we got we can't be like those cows low and all the way all the way yeah at some point not only do i do the will of god i want to do the will of god not only am i here i want to be here because this is where god wants me to be you know don't don't curse don't curse the place that god has assigned the blessing to the question is do you steal i'm asking you all this do you still get nervous either during or before you preach all the time all the time until i get into the praise and that's when i feel the most relaxed and the most like okay god i'm gonna go with what you give me but i'm nervous all throughout the night the last time i had to preach i told my wife i'm gonna go sleep in bishop's office because i got to get you did come out here one night and i text you four in the morning because i was gonna say i can't do it but you didn't pick up the only time you never pick up i was like well pastor wesker got a message i know he got a message but i didn't want to call him at four in the morning so i'm nervous the entire time yes it's the weight of it yes yesterday i mean what you think about it we are preaching to a you know how many school teachers we got in there raise your hand school teachers all the school educators come on raise your hand all right well think about this you are creating a lesson and a message for a class k through 12. the same message k to tell all of them in the same room not going to different classrooms everybody's in the same room right with different styles different languages yeah it's it's i go to the i go to the bathroom at least two or three times sometime before i have to preach and that's why when i go to churches if you all some of you y'all watching me online i don't come out until almost time for me to preach because if i come out early i'm gonna have to walk back two or three times to go to the restroom and i and it's my nerves pastor what's good you not nervous though never no i'm not nervous well i'm always concerned yeah i'm always concerned like a little i i want to be a blessing but just in case this is somebody that is that is a minister or somebody that's new to ministry one of the things that you'll learn to do because i have been nervous at times but one of the things that you'll learn to do even within your your mannerisms and your voice is being nervous and nobody knows when you're novice to it you're nervous and everybody's gonna know you're nervous but i can be nervous now because i've done it a long time and nobody knows i mean knots in my stomach nervous but still that comes with a little bit of seizing amen but i'm always nervous and concerned of course if you're not put your bible away and go have a seat somewhere if you're not nervous and i like that concern because i don't think the lord wants us to be scared every time we come up here oh i'm in the right place for god because i'm scared to death but definitely reverence and concern i think um having your father's approval uh helps a lot and i remember the first time i had to preach a funeral it was at the last location and i was real nervous first time doing it and you were there and you came um right before i went up you said you got this and it it just took everything off you know and um i was so nervous i was so nervous but can i tell you something i was so proud because can i take because on the only reason i was nervous because i was i was nervous for you because i felt you and then it's a funeral right it's a funeral of people that you don't know i didn't know those people and so i'm like how do you preach a funeral of somebody that you really don't know with their family sitting right there and it's no ramp people in the audience so you know ramp ramp people will encourage you you hear me now they can do something else to you too but for the most part they will encourage you they're like amen come on but i knew this was a congregation and it was a funeral and they weren't going to be no there was not going to be any outward expression of affirmation and when i tell you you went up there and owned it i mean you stood up there like i'm like i'm like i need to take notes off how you do a funeral fast tomorrow in 101 and uh no so i am your biggest fan i tell people all the time concerning both of you all i talk about you more behind your back than i do in your face i don't put you all up to preach as a courtesy because it wouldn't work yeah you know what i'm saying it would be a courtesy like yeah i'm gonna give you a chance i can't give people chances on sunday morning amen amen i put you all up because you feed me when you preach it's not like oh nice message i actually feast when you feed when you serve i feast and the people of our church and i say this to pastors all the time the people of our church they love you they enjoy the messages they are blessed i mean really i'm serious i mean sometimes you know they'll be calling you all and i'll be like amen amen another thing that that helped me out that hopefully will help this person is um i used to ask bishop i said all right the way you preach with the charisma i don't have that so i feel like people come every sunday expecting that and he said you have to realize that the sundays you're called to preach is god wants the people to hear the gospel through your voice to your experience and that that was something comforting too so that helped me not to feel like i have to live up to somebody else i have to preach like somebody else preach the gospel through my own life and i think that's the great thing about us we're like the three amigos you know because i'm steve martin because who's the tall one i'm jeffy chase but uh but if we if we all if we were trying to mimic bishop's style right we're never going to do him ever there's a lot of people out there trying to mimic his voice and his style and his they always second right but and another thing i'll say but sometimes i've seen young preachers it's the weight of the world for them and it is important it's the word of god amen and we're going to talk to people and maybe somebody might get sick so it's obviously it's very important but if you put all of that weight on you right you will take yourself out of a moment you will you will not be a conduit no more you'll be a blockage because you just you put too much on yourself that's right yeah um prepare your message and give space for the holy ghost and that's what i like about uh we all operate in the same anointing three different styles and i think it's important for us to have those expressions on the platform because somebody needs to be able to look at least at one of us and say well that's more like the way i would do it because if there was only one expression on the platform there's a whole church full of people who may think they're not called and they're not anointed because they can't mimic a particular style so having a diversity of expressions on the platform i think it gives people an opportunity to say hold on if he can get up and roll across the floor and tell a story and be anointed you know if he can write his message out which takes another level of discipline and gift and grace you know and if he can just kind of stumble into it you know then i can connect with i can see the graces on somebody on that platform i can see me operating in it because a lot of times in church we felt that it was only one way one vein one style and that style was synonymous with the anointing and your style can be anointed but your style is not the anointing it's really do it do it like god gives it to you and i've had that conversation when i've had asked people to pray before service it was like well i don't pray like the other people pray well evidently i don't want you to pray like them because i'm asking you to pray and to the point i've heard people pray and i've heard people preach and they're in their head about how they're doing it other than what they're doing no really i always tell people even when we have prayer on sunday mornings take your prayer on a journey yes prayer is into me with some intimacy with god and just like with a husband and wife you don't want to go in and just jump on a bed and just start going for broke amen amen there is an intimacy there is a prayer if prayer and worship is intimacy that means our worship leaders our intercessors you don't need to scream as soon as you get the microphone because that's what is equivalent to it's intimacy it's i worship you lord talk and communicate because what would it be if your spouse was not communicating with you and we're just going there with no communication right right amen amen okay i forgot i thought i thought danny took the kids out that's why i pulled back there so mommy bishop said you and daddy going for anyway uh they got a question over here it says sometimes you wear different robes do they eat do they each mean something different oh great question yes um if you see during convocation i wear sometimes sometimes for communion i'll wear this robe that some people call fuchsia or pink but it's actually the color is called roman purple it's supposed to be the color of blood it's supposed to symbolize the color of blood uh bishops uh wear that color robe as a symbol of the blood of the martyrs of the church reminding us that we shouldn't preach this gospel if we're not willing to die for the gospel now that robe although it's a whole lot of stuff on top of it it looks fancy that robe is always simple just like the other robes that the elders and the ministers wear and why is the robe simple because it's reminded all of us that at the base of who we are no matter whether we're a bishop whether we're an elder we're deacon the base of who we are is a servant and so that's why we wear those simple robes at the bottom and then you'll see us wear something over top of it oftentimes called a surplus and that surplus is white it's always white as a symbol of the purity so as servants of god we should be layered with holiness and purity before the lord as we operate in a row as in a priestly role as between god and the people pointing people toward jesus right so these are ceremonial garments but i know the questions i keep getting these questions all the time about my white robe so i want to take the mysticism out of that room all right uh so i was in uh i was preaching somewhere in norfolk and and pastor denise ray came and she said after i preached she says i feel like the lord the lord wants you to put on a garment god wants you to consecrate a garment to him i said okay amen you know and so sometimes when people give you prophetic words they're not always literal some things they need to be interpreted and i kind of smiled because i'd always told pastor bruce when we used to travel together i said sometimes i feel god just want me to wear a white robe all day every day i'm just going you know just go have y'all ever had those moments of just being sold out to god and it was really a moment and uh i remember brittany told me one time i feel like god wanted me to wear a head cover every day and she did for like 24 hours you know you know how because some of us are already impulsive people balance and discipline is hard for us but if you want us to be extreme on any other end we are willing you know your god elder kelly y'all think i'm playing elder kell at least once a year god will tell her to take all her tvs at her house and keller would take all the tvs out and she wouldn't watch no tv and then she'd go on the other extreme and she'd watch all tv and movies but anyway i'm just telling everybody's business tonight let me get back to me me me so i would tell bruce i felt like this sometime so one night one day bishop james nelson told me he says my friend pastor renee glenn is in town he's preaching at another church will you take her to lunch i said sure i don't know her but i'll take her to lunch so i reached out to her i said do you want me to pick you up she was like no no the bible says don't let your good be evil spoken of so i guess she didn't want me to pick her up at a hotel i was like okay i mean yeah i'm gonna take you to shakers and so we got to shake us i didn't realize he did this to set me up because i know pastor glenn now pastor glenn is real spiritual right so we sitting eating at the table and she said are we eating she said she just pushes the plate away i was like the catfish ain't good she says man of god the lord said for you to put on a garment i i just see him saying another level of consecration he's putting a garment on you and when she said that i started laughing i was like she says this is not a joke this is serious i did not come to play and anybody know what they did to me i'm like i was doing everything i could to keep them laughing out loud and she did not crack a smile she says this is judgment business the assignment on your life is no joke people like that's like and i was like trying to think of that i was pinching the skin on my leg and everything but it was not because i wasn't receiving it it's because you know to me god has a way god has a way when god is speaking some hallelujah when god is speaking to you he'll cause everything around you to speak some of you know what that is but you tried to run away from the calling of god and god will use everything to speak to you and i'll never forget it was a consecration in the lord i had me to wear this robe and from then there's certain times i feel led to put that robe on but oftentimes people think the robe is for the people when really the robe is for me you know because when we go out when i go out preaching i i read the comments on the lives like uh oh the white robe just came out the jesus robe just came out you know um sometimes it's sometime i have to wear it like sunday i brought it to where it's sunday because the message i had to deliver oftentimes when i wear a robe i'll wear a rope the same reason why a judge wears a rope when a judge wears a robe that judge wears a rope because he's he's his robe his garment is saying i'm not representing myself i'm representing the jurisdiction i'm representing the nation i'm representing the law so i'm covering up all things that's about my own individuality because this is bigger than me i'm sitting on this bench representing another document right and uh and so yeah i struggle so even like i'm so glad and i want to thank you all so much for being a church a mature church that prays i got so many people that says bishop god has been using you and i we are covering you and uh some of the couples that y'all were praying for me because i appreciate it because i realized some of my warfare lately has really been about the message has really about been about the assignment because even the first time i was going to preach the message i preached sunday we were in the back office i said y'all pray for me because i got this message this heavy message god wants me to preach pastor westgate says oh come on not today can we just have something light what was i y'all could imagine what goes on in that office sometimes but some powerful things happens in it but there happened to be a sunday where that where the anointing of god took over and every time i got ready to preach it it didn't come out so that really ro that robe is really about my own uh personal consecration and and then when i when i have to when i have to speak for god i just wrap up i wrap me up and says lord i'm going in the power of your authority yeah thank y'all so much let's clap my hands and give god praise pastor marty do you have anything to say to the people before we go tonight amen one thing y'all gonna know about pastor marvin too he don't add nothing extra even pastor escape you got anything that um um this sunday marriage battle we're having um my wife is making her white chicken chili and uh we're gonna play white chicken chili is good we're gonna play some games actually the married couples are gonna battle one another they're not uh we'll see what happens um child care is provided i didn't put that on the flyer but we will have child care yeah i'm gonna put that on me just because i'm not married i'm not keeping the kids i went on a marriage ministry trip one time with um with the marriage ministry we went on a trip to smith mount lake where we had to do the canoes and my only partner then was walter and even martin got married now so i may come out for a bowl of that chili though yeah yeah or we're gonna put a little something in the hands of the folks that watch the children though okay y'all gonna put some money in the hands yes sir yeah amen so i'll be watching the kids i feel like i feel led to watch the kids amen we do have a men's camping trip august 27th inviting all the men to be a part if you want more information are you invited all the men all of them even brother enoch definitely brother enoch with his boys so caleb and noah i want y'all to know you all will be going on a camping trip this year yay tell elder claude he can't stay at a hotel no elder club we're not standing at a hotel we're standing tense we're standing tense and god really blesses us it's really a bonding time with uh father and sons it's been a it's really been a strong bonding trip every year because as knows getting older he does his own thing and it's just a blessing that we're able to spend that time uh on the ground uh on on ramp island because god's still going to do it yes yes we're still going to get that island and eventually one day digging marquis will be coming to the island with his baby boy yeah so we're excited camden are you excited about the camping trip kinda all right happy birthday the oil i was like what woman preached i said oh okay and she had on a robe sunday she had a consecration so for women's ministry um on i want everyone ladies to mark your calendars for august 28th saturday august 28th we will be going to the a-r-d-i-y arts studio together from six to nine all ladies we have 40 slots and this is a diy studio where you can pick um what project you want to do and we'll have three instructors there for three hours you can pick like signs big signs to make wreaths charcuterie boards anything so if you need information on that i'll have a link for you all to directly register there again we have 40 slots left the time is from 6 to 9 on saturday august 28th y'all excited it's going to be a good time um if you all can do me a favor also um any ladies in the ramp dmv a big send off on the 22nd do we have any seats left on the bus we got 10 seats left on the bus so if you don't want to drive after church on sun on that 22nd you just want to get on the bus and go up there and come right back i think the seats are how much are the seats 25 hey that's cheaper than the gas you put in your car unless you got one of those in okay anyway uh so we want you to uh come and join us as we launch our service let's pray [Music] lord we just thank you for your word help us to be still when you want us to be still but help us to move even when the crowd is seeking for us help us to be led by your spirit in all things more than the applause of the crowd let it be on us to do your will all those things we're putting our hands to do with the women's ministry and the marriage ministry and the youth ministry and the dmv i'm asking you lord put your favor on it grace us lord with your favor lord i thank you lord for the anniversary of the crutchfields thank you for your faithfulness lord i ask you to bless them in the days and the years to come thank you lord for uh camden and favor's birthday we thank you for the blessing of these children that you've given us continue to increase and expand the realm church not for our name but for your glory bless us and we will be blessed keep us and we shall be kept bless this gentleman as he goes down in water tonight in jesus name fill him with your spirit hallelujah from the top of his head to the soul his feet your word says except the man be born of the ward and of the spirit he cannot see the kingdom of god i thank you in our lord the scales come off his eyes [Music] he can see your kingdom glory be to god he can experience righteousness joy and peace in the holy ghost bless his family lord your word says when he does this that this promises will be unto him and to his children them that are far best lord god shall call bless us in the remain of this week all of our people who are working in
