We Will Not Be Stopped - Chris Green

i think god wants to give us a word what do you think about that is that all right acts chapter 4 acts chapter 4. [Music] i'm going to be reading verses 15 through 20. what a mighty god we serve what a mighty god we serve what an amazing church the pentecostals of alexandria is but we are only who we are because of the god that we serve it was paul who had everything to brag about i've read scholars who said that he had his education you could compare it to modern day education they said he would have the equivalent of three phds i can't even spell phd they said he could speak somewhere between 20 and 30 languages fluently and i'm still working on english and he had everything to brag about but he said i am what i am by the grace of god how many of you know that you're only here today because of the grace of god thank you pastor gentry pastor andrew and pastor ryan and thank you pastor andrew for preaching my sermon for the lord's sermon tonight you were in the holy ghost amen that just lets me know that god is in this place when somebody gets up here and starts preaching your sermon that doesn't mean that that i'm out of the holy ghost i believe it means that we're in the holy ghost amen amen in acts chapter 4 verse 15 it says but when they had commanded them that's peter and john they had commanded them to go aside out of the council they conferred among themselves saying what shall we do to these men for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in jerusalem and we cannot deny it these were a bunch of cowards who said we can't deny the demonstration but we're going to debate their doctrine and we're frustrated at how they got this miracle and so they came up with a plan in verse 17 and they said this we can't deny it so they said but that it spread no further i want everyone to say those words with me but that it spread no further among the people let us straightly threaten them that they speak henceforth to no man in this name and they called them and commanded them not to speak at all or teach in the name of jesus but peter and john answered and said unto them whether it be right in the sight of god to hearken or listen unto you more than unto god you judge for we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard the modern translation says it like this we cannot stop telling we have seen and heard i want to preach to you with the help of the lord tonight we will not be stopped don't you turn to somebody and if you believe that i want you to tell them we will not be stopped clap your hands one more time as you are seated and somebody shout hallelujah in jesus name you may be seated we will i had about 25 different sermons and finally or 25 different titles and finally just had to give them something and really the title did not matter because the target where god wanted us to go is all that really mattered but i want to let you know that we not cannot but we will not be stopped you cannot stop a pentecostal a real pentecostal apostolic full of the holy ghost baptized in jesus name there's just something about you that you cannot be stopped you may be delayed you may be denied you you may be stalled for a moment but you cannot be stop you cannot stop a praying church i thought that one might strike lightning in the pentecostals of alexandria where there is 24 hours prayer every day 365 you know as good as anybody that's ever lived this life that you cannot stop a praying church you might be able to stop a church that's got good singing good preaching or good-looking people good giving good tithing good sacrificing good good good but you cannot stop a praying church somebody that prays a church that prays just understands that we will not be stopped the day of pentecost had taken place which i listed to you this morning that i believe the day of pentecost was simply a fulfillment of the plan of god that i'm not just going to make them go through a tabernacle plan one high priest to experience my power i'm not just going to demonstrate myself to them every so often or even live with them in the flesh no but i want to utterly overwhelm and dwell inside of them and he had promised them as i said this morning and many of us know he had promised and prophesied that this would take place he said go to jerusalem in way it's a cuss word in our flesh you know we don't like that word wait mcdonald's takes more than three minutes i'm knocking on that window saying what's going on we got mcdonald's breakfast this morning didn't we pastor ryan and before we got up to the window her hand was out that window holding our breakfast we don't like to wait if her hand hadn't been out that window we would have been knocking that window saying come on what's going on this is fast food we don't like to wait but jesus said i want you to go to jerusalem and wait for the promise of the father for you shall be endued with power from on high he said that you shall receive power after that the holy ghost has come upon you and you shall be witnesses unto me i i preached that once before i i kind of thought i was stepping out on a limb and i you know every now and then a preacher says some things you think man is that really in the book you know and and i i preached one time i said if you think you've got the holy ghost but you're not a witness you really don't have the holy ghost and that kind of just came out of me and i thought oh god was that really god was that the bible or did i say something that that didn't make sense at all and and then i started listening to a sermon by by some really good preacher named sister vesta mangan and she said the same words and i said oh good i'm all right then if she said it i i think i can say it too if she said it i know it's in the book amen but he said when you have my spirit you will have power and you will have a purpose to go into all the world everybody say all the world and see that's the thing that drives the devil crazy the purpose of the pentecostal the destiny the reasoning for who we are is to go outside of this building into the highways into the hedges into the streets that's the thing that drives the devil the cr the craziest the most mad the most insane that's what drives him crazy the most i'll prove it to you in scripture here in just a second but he don't like a pentecostal who takes what they get at the altar and delivers it into their job and their school and their network of friends and family but jesus said this is my plan for you to have power that you can go to all the world and his spirit poured out on the day of pentecost and it was the the very next chapter chapter 3 when you find that simon peter and john were headed to the temple during the hour of prayer and they found that man who was crippled from birth he was laying there lame and he could not go any further past that gate called beautiful for it was against the law for someone of his position to enter into the temple and we know that simon peter i think he had somewhat of a revelation he realized wait a second this is what jesus promised and prophesied would happen to us that we would see greater things and that we could do what he did and that it was our calling to go into the world and here we are outside the church outside the temple outside the four walls of the confinement of what we would call the church and he said here it is my first opportunity to take this power to the world he said silver and gold have i none but such as i have give iv in the name of jesus rise up and walk as the story goes he was healed instantaneously simon peter reached down and pulled him up and the bible says that he had received strength in his legs and it says he began to walk and where did he walk it says he went into the church what happened outside the church came into the church and the bible said he didn't just take a little casual straw it said he going into the church leaping and walking giving praise to god i talked about first-time visitor faith this morning imagine a first-time visitor who was so ostracized he could only stand at the entrance of the parking lot and all of a sudden everybody who had disdained him with the reputation that you're not good enough or worthy enough to come into our church and a moment later right during the announcements and offering here comes that same guy running down the aisles shouting glory well it ruffled the feathers of the religious folk as it as it would in many places not in this place of course because we will not be stopped but you see it ruffled the feathers of the pharisees and acts chapter 4 verse 1. it's the same story just divided into the next chapter and the bible says that now the church it was the church it was the pharisees the captain of the temple it says that that high priest the spiritual supposedly spiritual and religious folk they began to attack simon peter and john they began to question them and negotiate and debate with them how did this happen in fact their exact question in verse 7 i believe they said by what power or by what name have you done this miracle and simon peter who later the bible says he was unlearned and ignorant he couldn't put two and two together he might get six if he put two and two together but he knew he said the only way that this happened he got a little plain with him he said you remember that guy you bumped off several days ago several weeks ago the one you crucified the one you you ridiculed the one you critic criticized and accused and and called him all sorts of names the one that you buried in a tomb he said by him he said god raised him from the dead by him watch what he said does this man stand here before you whole he gave them the revelation that healing is only in the name of g you want to know how to have a miracle like this he said it happened by the power of the name of jesus and i could see those pharisees thinking well i don't know what we're going to do with this and they might have been there their feathers were ruffled just a little bit but they weren't too angry at first until simon peter kept preaching you can't get a pentecostal to stop preaching we will not be stopped just have five more minutes you know he said hey wait a second five more minutes i got to keep preaching to you while i have your attention i told you about healing but let me tell you about how to be saved neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved and that is what angered these religious people in fact i'll say it like this the the the adversary the devil the enemy of god's will and power that's what angered them that's what ruffled their feathers the most when they said it is only by the name of jesus that you can receive salvation and so they didn't really know what to do with them because they said a notable tangible verifiable miracle has been done that's what separates us from everybody else is that we don't just preach it we don't just talk it we don't just teach it we demonstrate it we live it we verify what we believe by what we see we say hey you want to see who can heal you want to see what the name of jesus can do just come to my church my god can heal your sickness we verify our doctrine we verify our beliefs based upon the demonstration of god's power and so the bible lets us know that they didn't know exactly what to do in verse 16 as i read before they they confessed a notable miracle we can't deny the demonstration but we are angry with the way they demonstrated that demonstration we are upset with the doctrine we are upset with the method we are upset with how they did what they did and the bible says that they came to such a conclusion anybody know the devil is dumb he is dumb i've just got a few head nods somebody ought to say amen he's not just the father of lies and the spirit of disobedience he is the spirit of stupidity he is weak and he is a coward because the greatest plan that he had he said we can't stop you from believing this we can't even stop you gathering together and worshiping this and and believing this together but in verse 17 they said our only plan is to keep it from spreading any further than where it's at right now that's my only plan i can't stop you from believing it i can't stop you from talking about it amongst yourselves but that it spread no further now i'm gonna get right over here and next to sister lane here and if she says amen to this then everybody else can say amen but this is one of those branch statements again you know what i'm talking about if she says amen i know i'm in the book the devil is not afraid of what happens in this church as long as it stays in this church you can't they can't hear you that's right i'm going to say it again the devil is not afraid of what happens right here at this altar as long as it stays at this altar he's not afraid of you coming in these four walls this building uh called the poa and dancing it down and shouting it up and running it out and going crazy as long as it stays right here and so their plan notice what they said we're going to threaten them that's a method of fear they said the moment they step out of that sanctuary we're going to inflict fear upon them so that they will never share or spread what has happened inside those doors and that's exactly what i see in our travels it's not in this place i don't believe maybe somebody's struggling with it today but i'm here to let you know that the enemies only disguise the enemy's only threat the enemy's only plan is to inflict fear into your soul into your spirit into your mind so that when you come to the house of the lord you let your guard down and you go crazy and shout it out and you speak in tongues and you have a great revival but the moment you get back in your car fear is waiting on you the threat of the devil is waiting on you to say you keep it in that church you keep it in that building you don't tell your boss you don't tell your family you don't tell your children you don't tell anybody about this and we'll be just fine [Applause] but i'm here tonight to serve notice on every demonic presence upon every darkness upon every opposition of the devil we will not be stop i refuse to let my only walk with god happen inside of a building i refuse to let the only demonstration of the holy ghost to happen inside of a sanctuary i want it to happen big and great but after it happens i'm gonna take this everywhere i go i'm going to testify i'm going to shout i'm going to witness i will not let the devil tend me with fear to shut me down somebody just lift up your hands right now and say god i receive your word tonight [Music] we shall not be stopped they said the only thing we know to do is threaten them with fear and say you can't talk about this anymore the devil does not care what happens inside these four walls he doesn't care what songs we pray or sing or what sermons we preach as long as it stays right here but the greatest weapon we have with god is when we receive what he has given to us and say i'm not going to keep it here baby but i'm taking it everywhere i go i preached in california one time and we had this guy they have an amazing program of an acts program of addicts just like you have your seven program they have a program at the church i preached at there and long story short this this dude came in fresh out of prison he was as high as a kite man his name is andy he came to church and he was just slumped down just i mean he he had smoked something or whatever i don't know what he had taken but he was high he was flying high not in the holy ghost either and he was sitting in the service that day and he was he was just out of it you know when the altar call was given he stumbled his way up there god sobered him up and then intoxicated him with the real stuff called the holy ghost and and but here's what happened here's what happened and he got the holy ghost baptized in jesus name and he left and we had several weeks of revival he came back the next week he said brother garina he said i got the holy ghost baptized in jesus name last week and god delivered me and he went down the list he delivered me of violence he delivered me of drugs of alcohol and all this stuff and he said but he has not delivered me of pornography and why is that i said i don't know i i was a young preacher i just started preaching i said well all i know to do is pray again we prayed again and he got the holy ghost again i said there it is there's the spirit of deliverance for the spirit of the lord is there is liberty and freedom i said you're delivered he went home came back the next week he said brother green i'm still delivered of everything else but not pornography then i kind of got upset with god i said god what's your problem why would you not deliver him from this he's obviously wanting deliverance from this the holy ghost spoke to me and said i already provided a way out i already gave him deliverance he just won't receive it i asked him i said andy i said i told him so i said listen to me jesus delivered you when he died on a cross and defeated death hill in the grave you're delivered now but you've got to act delivered at home as you are on the altar i said listen i said i said you know where do you look at this junk where do you look at this mess i i got magazines i got it on my phone i said do you have it on your phone right now he said yeah i got it on my phone right now i said are the magazines still in your room he said yeah the magazines are by my bed i said why he said well i figured i was delivered and i'd never never be tempted by it again i said andy if it was cigarettes you wouldn't keep the cigarettes right in your pocket and keep them all around you and keep them in your car and everywhere you go it's you're going to be tempted son i said if you're delivered here you've got to be delivered out there i'm speaking to somebody right now i said you got to go back home and what would a delivered person do he would get rid of the junk so he goes home big revelation for you i'm sorry we didn't see any angels show up or we didn't see the shekinah showed up what we saw was andea not just keep it here he went outside these four walls he got rid of his smartphone and bought a dumb phone so he couldn't look at that mess anymore he got rid of all the magazines and all the dvds he came back the next week he said i'm delivered i'm about to make the enemy mad tonight because we got to understand something we are not just apostolic in these four walls we are apostolic everywhere that we go i feel to help somebody i feel i feel to tell somebody right over here you're not just delivered in this church you are delivered everywhere you go you're not just free in this church you are free everywhere you go you're not just healed at this altar you are healed everywhere you go don't let no devil lie to you don't let no fear threaten you to keep your apostolic experience in this church somebody lift up your hands and say god i'm gonna take this everywhere i go [Applause] we shall not be stopped we will not be stopped when i walk out of these doors this night i will not let one ounce of darkness uh one ounce of opposition get into my mind and corrupt my faith i will not beast uh there was something about this simon peter there was something about him i preached from john 6 several months ago when all these 5 000 men plus women and children had received the miracles of god with five loaves of bread and two fish and god had fed them he had fed them with abundance and then they deserted him when he told them what to do and he looked at the 12 he had left and the bible says and one was a devil and he looked at the 12 and he said hey i've just seen the multitude desert me will you go with the multitude or will you go with me will you follow the crowd or will you follow me and simon peter stood up and he said in verse 68 he said lord to whom shall we go in other words he said where else where else could i go i've tried everything else but he goes on and says but you have the words of eternal life and we believe and we are sure that you are the christ the son of the living god when you leave a service like this you've got to be determined that says i'm not going with every wave of wind i'm not going with every word of gossip i'm not going with every opposition of demonic warfare i will not go anywhere else where else could i go i couldn't go to another church i couldn't go to another doctor i couldn't go to another physician i couldn't go back to the bottle i couldn't go back to the weed i can't go back to who i used to be i've seen too much i've heard too much i know too much and i cannot go anywhere else [Applause] i don't know how all this makes sense and i could stop right here but the lord gave me this in the office i've never seen this or never preached this never spoken this out loud anywhere so we're going to try it on you right now the lord began to deal with me of the perception of a testimony what does it do you ever thought about this what does a testimony look like what does the testimony look like someone gets up here raises their hand and testifies we don't have any of them service anymore testimony services but when someone does get up here and i've shared testimonies from the pulpit what does that testimony look like you know what had hit me in the office that i felt the lord instructed me to tell this congregation the testimony never looked like a testimony until the last step a testimony in the middle of the process it looks like a mess it looks like confusion it looks like defeat it looks like a disaster until the last step when god steps in it makes a way where there seems to be no way in the moment it never looks like a testimony in the middle of the storm you don't lift up your eyes and say thank you jesus for the storm it never looks like a testimony right in the middle of the valley but what would happen to me and what would happen to us if somehow god would allow us the faith to recognize that what i'm facing is just about to be a testimony what if in the middle of your disaster you could find enough strength to stand up and declare this is about to be my greatest testimony what if in the middle of disaster you could have some sort of i feel the holy ghost you can find that gift of faith that can allow you to stand up and look at that storm and say storm your only purpose is to help me glorify god what if in the middle of the storm we could stand and declare i may not know when this is going to end but i'm going to dance in the rain because i know that my god is still god i'm not going to preach at all i'm skipping to the end here but it was in job chapter 13 we know what job went through he lost everything he lost it all at the allowance of god he had lost in fact it was the enemy it was satan that came to god he began to look for somebody he was saying to god is there anybody that you can let me tempt a little bit and god spoke to satan and said have you noticed job and satan said yeah i've noticed him let me ask us a question are we apostolic enough for the devil to notice us am i apostolic enough for the devil to say i'd like to mess with his lunchbox a little bit today his brother stone king who always says the devil fights the hardest who he fears the most and after he had lost seemingly everything in job 13 and 15 he said but though god slay me he hadn't seen the light at the end of the tunnel but he said though god slay me yet will i trust in him he said i will main tank i will maintain my own ways before him he also shall be my salvation he goes on ten chapters later and they don't have the new living translation but forgive me for reading it in this translation in job 23 they can put it up in what they've got in verse 2. watch what he says job complains there's nothing wrong with complaining as long as before you put that period at the end of that complaint you got a praise it says my complaint today is still a bitter one and i try hard not to groan out loud if only i knew where to find god i know there's no one here that's ever felt that before you ever felt that before if only i knew where to find god he goes on and says i would go to his court i would lay out my case and present my arguments then i would listen to his reply and understand what he says to me verse 8 watch what job says i go east but he's not there i go west but i can't find him i do not see him in the north for he is hidden i look to the south but he is concealed verse 10 but he knows where i'm going you hear that he said i don't know where to find god i don't know where he's going i don't understand his ways i don't understand why i'm going through what i'm going through but god knows where i'm going but he keeps on he says and when he has tested me i whip here it is the light at the end of the tunnel he recognized that he was just living out the process of a testimonial he wasn't there yet but he was right in the middle and he understood that after god has tested me i will come out as pure gold wait but we gotta figure out what was what was up with job that can give him such a recognition of what he was going through verse 11 he said for i have stayed on god's path i have followed his ways and have not turned aside i have not departed from his commands but have treasured his words more than daily food but once he has made his decision who can change his mind watch what he says whatever he wants to do he will do it so he will do to me whatever he has planned he controls my destiny job said i've lost it all but i'm staying the course i've lost everything but even if it kills me i'm not gonna stop trusting him i will not be stopped i don't know where he's going but he knows where i'm going i don't know where he is but i'm sorry it's such a simple word on a sunday night but hear it loud and clear god knows where you are there's times i say god i've prayed and i don't feel anything i read the word and i don't hear a voice where are you god where are you going god what are you doing god and god stays silent but it don't matter how silent he is he knows where i am [Applause] that's why habakkuk could say although the fig tree may not blossom neither fruit be in the vines the labor of the olive shall fail the fields shall yield no meat the flock somebody shout the flock that's our people the flock might be cut off they might leave us there might be backsliders there might be deaths and tragedies the flock could be cut off from the fold and there might be no herd in the stalls but yet i will rejoice because god is my salvation he will he will make me to walk upon high places [Applause] that's why david he could speak such a prophetic you don't realize it but psalm 23 is a prophetic vision of the life of jesus christ and he could say the lord is my shepherd i shall not want he maketh me to lie down in green pastures he leads me beside the still waters i've got it going good god i feel you i talk in tongues we got the holy ghost fallen but then it goes on and says yea though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death brother andrew though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death watch what he said i will fear no evil i feel such an urge to speak against every spirit and and ouch and demonic presence of fear that would try to inflict your heart tonight david said even when i go through that valley that nobody wants to go through the valley of the shadow of death i'm not going to be afraid of any evil you know why because god is with me his rod and his staff they comfort me he goes on and says you will prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies you will anoint my head with oil and my cup will overflow i will not stay barren i will not stay dry but you've got an anointing coming if i can just get to the other side of the valley if i can just hold on baby if i can just maintain the course if i can just make up my mind i will not be stopped i will not be stopped i will not silence my praise i will not silence my shout i will not silence he says when i get to the other side of that valley my cup is going to overflow i'm not going to be half full i'm not going to be burying my cup is going to overflow with the anointing of the holy ghost he's saying surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and i will dwell in the house of the lord forever they came and they said we know a notable miracle has been done but we're going to threaten you so that it spread no further the purpose of pentecost and the purpose of this church is so that this thing spreads from the north to the south from the east to the west in every devil in hell we were talking about this at lunch pastor gentry that we are in these last days that we believe that this is the last opportunity for this world to receive salvation and the enemy is working double time right now doing everything he can do and let me tell you let me tell you who he's coming against he's coming against people like you and like me he's coming against us with darkness and with fear because he knows that we've got the answer of truth of light and of salvation and i feel the holy ghost he knows that if we can just stop their voice if we can there's there's people in this sanctuary right now that you don't realize and that's all right but i'm here to let you know you don't realize it but you've got victory right here locked up inside of your voice there is victory i don't have time to preach it but you've got victory that's locked up in your voice that at the very vibration of the sound of your testimony he cut the at the very s you don't realize that you prophesy to people sometimes but there's a prophetic utterance that comes out of you that has the hope of salvation when you talk to somebody about the name of jesus and you tell them the testimony of where you've come from you don't realize that there is victory inside of your voice and the enemy knows if i can just silence their voice [Applause] pastor dan butler who was on the panel several years ago but because of the times he's a close friend of ours and interned for him and he had been pastoring there in california when his wife was stricken with rheumatoid arthritis and it went all over her body and the doctors pumped her full of medicine and it messed up her brain long story short she went into a coma where she was just in a coma and unresponsive for several years and she was the the pastor's wife and the ladies leader and one of the worship leaders and now she's in a coma for several years it didn't make sense god and and pastor butler reached the end of his rope and he began to pray and he said he was laying in his living room when he began to pray and he said god i'm going to give up my church i'm going to resign my ministry because i can't do this anymore the burden and the stress of my wife's condition i just can't go any further and he said as he began to pray that prayer his phone rang and his home phone ring and he got up and went and answered the phone and he said yes hello this this is dan butler and on the other end of the line was another minister that they had never met before and he said this is pastor dan butler he said yes sir this is pastor dan butler he said well you don't know who i am and he said i don't even know who you are but i was just in prayer and as i was in prayer the lord began to deal with me about a pastor dan butler he said he gave me your phone number and he told me to call you and let you know that your wife is about to be healed and to not resign the church and don't quit don't stop don't give up pastor butler said two weeks later in the middle of the night his wife woke up for the first time at 3 a.m in the morning listen to what happened she stood up out of the bed and she walked into the kitchen she walked into the kitchen and she grabbed the scissors out from the drawer she said i was under the influence of a demonic darkness she said i grabbed the scissors out of my kitchen drawer i let down my long uncut hair and i put the hair between those two blades and just before i could clamp the scissors shut there was a light from heaven that came down into that kitchen and overwhelmed the darkness she said and when it did i dropped the scissors and she said when the scissors hit the floor my body was completely healed brother butler said he woke up a couple hours later he smelled bacon in the kitchen and eggs in the frying pan and he walked into the kitchen and saw his wife standing there singing if it had not been for jesus [Applause] [Music] you foreign i want to give you a word from the lord i feel in the holy ghost right now i want you to stand to your feet and i want you to hear what god is speaking to this congregation i submit to your authority pastor gentry this isn't right you tell me but i feel right now as everyone the bible says has been given a measure of faith many many of you are faced against circumstances that your faith does not measure up it's not enough to overcome the obstacle i'm here to let you know it's all right your faith is not enough somebody say my faith is not enough say my faith is not enough you think well then what are you going to say i'm here to tell you this i felt the lord spoke this to me and said tonight i'm about to saturate this church with my gift of faith their faith is not enough but i got all the faith that they need to overcome their obstacle to break through their disaster but you've got to recognize what god is trying to do [Applause] you got to recognize right now i said right now you've got to open your eyes of faith and say god i can't get through this by myself so saturate me with the gift of faith i will not be stopped i will not be silenced i will not be deterred i will not be turned around but i but i am more than a conqueror [Applause] uh um [Applause] come on somebody let them know i don't have what it takes but you've got it god you've got what i need you've got what i need i don't have enough faith i can't take another step without your faith without your direction i come against every opposition of fear
