Grand thumb gas masks do they work which are effective well lucky for you we are going to test it we have anything everywhere from the military gas mask like the FM 54 to mirror safety to these cheap ones that we got off Amazon which have 12 000 Real reviews because I can't think of a possible single reason that a Chinese company would lie about a product that's not easily testable I think it was the Chinese that were responsible for uh for making us all wear a mask in the first place [Music] before we get into we of course have to think the biggest sponsor the channel who is who Charles Dusty now the question is why would you need a gas mask I see a lot of questions like uh what am I going to encounter you know mustard gas it's not World War One a lot of people a lot of people think that uh you're not going to need a civilian I I think you do especially if you're at a mostly mostly peaceful protest and you just got to get rid of your local Burger King Charles brings up a really good point CS Riot gas is used extensively during rights whether it be the last election cycle whether it be any number of reasons for people to Riot you're going to see a lot of it used and it might not be used directly against you but gas has a funny habit of drifting so you might inadvertently be inhaling it and it's going to be bad it's going to make things a little more difficult to do whatever you're doing so having a gas mask really isn't that expensive type of one that's set up and especially if you have kids you have a wife or you have family members who are sensitive such as they have asthma or something like that some type of reactive lung disease it's going to be important that you're able to protect them from that not just that imagine there's a forest fire and there's a bunch of Ash this could be very difficult for people with you know sensitive lungs to deal with so having a gas mask to me with a good filter is a no-brainer and it's something that you should absolutely have so we're going to talk a little bit about gas mask fitment I'm sure my Sebring guys can go in here and talk about this a lot more we're going to talk about it generally from what I learned from my military experience we spent a lot of time with it so Charles right here has a mask that is not currently fitted to them so we're going to go through the fitness process it's pretty quick so you're gonna have a buddy Charles is gonna take a knee right here so right now the mass is going to be very loose on Charles's face so it's not going to seal it's not going to do what it needs to should be noted too that when you have facial hair that's going to make it a little bit more difficult for the gas mask to seal generally you want to be clean shaven not always possible try to work through it if you can so we're going to do is we're going to go ahead and we're going to begin to tighten the mask to get that good seal for Charles and it's much easier to have a buddy do this you can do it on your own but buddy rigging is kind of a military tradition so I'm going to do it there that nice and tight so what Charles is going to do now is he's going to go ahead he's going to cut both sides make sure it's fitting good on them fix any problems he might have yep so you can see when he's breathing in it's just suctioning the whole mask in that's you want to see that it means you have a good seal to do that you have to make sure you have to plug the filter because otherwise you're going to be breathing in air so we have a good fitted Master Charles and that's what you want to do there are many different ways to fit the mask this is the way that we generally do it and again pretty simple so we're gonna go ahead we're gonna test it now so generally there's a couple different categories of masks we're not going to recommend your cheap Amazon masks generally we recommend either the military or the mirror safety mask you can see that we're almost exclusively using the mirror safety filters because they're not too expensive and they work really well we use the NBC 77 soft that one is absolutely awesome and there's a lot of different mirror safety masks generally what we'll say to you is that everybody's face is going to be a little bit different it's going to be hard to tell you precisely which one's going to fit you the best but you're gonna have to find it generally the model that Charles has it's kind of pretty close to the FM 53 tends to work very well I know Micah loves this one right here but I'll be wearing the one from uh what movie is that uh yeah the tenant mask so we'll go ahead and we'll try these out show you guys how effective they are and then we'll move on to the military mask let's get it going we're gonna go and we're gonna pop it we're gonna get in there come on get in there oh [ __ ] oh ears work yeah go back in oh no it didn't work the uh these filters didn't work their arms didn't work yo who would have thought the Amazon gas mask didn't work they uh they worked better than nothing you don't have to spend that much more to get like a mirror mask which is going to work way better that that filter failed pretty quick look at Sam hey Sam how you doing I don't think mine was as bad the second time it got in for sure but I this [ __ ] had a seal those filters are no good all right we'll be uh bigger safety mask this one generally doesn't fit me as well so this should be a good time too late man hey this one's gonna blow by the way so stand back pretty good oh [ __ ] oh mine worked pretty well oh yeah I got it my eye started to burn a little bit uh I waited to take mine off did it did it affect you at all Mike no it's fine in the mascot no one cared who I was till I put on the mask well I took the mask off just to show that it's uh actually tear gas there's a lot that we can go into when it comes to gas masks we're going to keep it kind of just surface level for this particular video but they do have a really good ecosystem of products that go along with it which is generally why we recommend them and then again they're not too expensive so right here we have one of the older generation of military Mass this could be bought pretty cheaply they're not as good as a lot of the newer ones plug make sure you have a good seal let's go on there these military masks are good but they're expensive um right here we have one of the newer ones the FM 54. the nice thing about the military masks is they are made to directly integrate with helmets I should note that the mirror safety do um as well the accessories that come with the military mask are going to be more expensive though and maybe Harder To Source depending on the company we'll play a gas mask [Music] oh yeah nice good times here we go [Music] no the massive farted then I took it off because I was like this is whack but no you got it I said I wanted to experience it I felt like I was getting off easy next up we run a couple drills we both have different facial structures different masks that work better for us and we'll see which one feels best all good and I'll start with the FM 54 which is my personal favorite you ready stand by so that's a 184 FM 54 feels great the uh having the filter on one side have the other closed off very smooth bring it up to your eye takes a little bit of getting used to you and you definitely need the Riser Unity Wilcox whatever just have a rise all right shooter are you ready yeah stand by all right one force one six seven nice good job man yeah just love one more yeah shooter are you ready stand by oh terrible nice one five oh good job man oh never mind yeah that was bad that was real bad how's the uh cheek weld for you on that mask pretty terrible to be honest you want to try the FM 54 really quick stand bye thank you nice 150 you're pretty consistent did that feel better it felt a little bit better but overall it's something you got to train with for sure except we have Micah with uh wearing his favorite gas mask it's the one I own personally and I'm starting to learn that glasses and gas masks suck all right shooter ready yeah stand by 203 is that one mic nope you're good you're clean yeah you want to try the FM 54 yeah this one's hard to get up on my uh I have really struggled I kind of had to um bring up can't left can't right to acquire shooter are you ready yeah stand by you actually shot that one worse but way faster you were a one two six okay clean 170. nice I like this one yeah that one feels way better you want to try a little movement shooting move [Music] cling two two four standby move okay nice 198. sooner move foreign but um I think the FM 54 I think is a clear winner when it comes to shoot ability in a mask you're it it I feel like my like field of view is kind of limited it's definitely cut it's like I'm looking through shitty binos it looks really cool though like it looks cool right Mike basically it's a no-brainer get yourself a gas mask it just makes sense for sure facts that that sucked thank you Charles um biggest thing guys is train if you're not training your gas mask you're you're just gonna suck this isn't something that I'm necessarily going to say go get professional training on put on your gas mask do ready UPS do drills in them all your normal drills that you typically do and you're gonna quickly learn agreed Micah yeah I mean that was the first time I'd done it but I figured out a technique pretty pretty quick you're gonna learn it pretty quick it's not it's a no-brainer guys point is actually practice with
