hey guys thanks for tuning into the channel this week we're making a muffaletta sandwich it's a sandwich that's popular down in Louisiana got guests over tonight my brother-in-law ed trust me he's gonna be overly honest if this tastes good or not I know that's kind of him to a fault nice to have somebody else filming just with us Chris Marissa's not gonna be eating she spit it out but out but I like my making this sandwich and I'm keeping in line with Christmas last week when we did the enchilada enchilada dip for a football you can put this together before anybody gets to your house and throw it like a warm oven and it stays that actually actually comes out better after you riddle it and then put it in a warm oven kind of taste like a calzone or a sub or holgie where we get where you're from one of you call it taste are gonna tell you to hold you on steroids so with that let's get to it we'll go through the ingredients all right so here's the ingredients well I will put them in the description there's basically four meats and one loaf of bread so if you guys can get focaccia I would probably try this with ricotta my market I can only get ciabatta so I'm using a loaf of ciabatta for a loaf this size which is 15 by 6 I use a half pound of the following cold cuts so we got 1/2 pound Genoa salami half pound law delle half pound hot capicola and 1/2 pound of hot ham along with 1/2 pound of shock prolong most if not all that's going to go on the sandwich we're also gonna puree some olives to peperoncini and way on the slice up and he doesn't like olives and now we're gonna slice up some roasted red bell red bell pepper so we got the drained roasted red pepper and I'm gonna throw a 2 peperoncini in Eddie's favorite olive container so those going now and then for the the peppers we're just going to slice into long strips like so so I got Jeff you're gonna puree the Wow and pepper on these that's gonna be a spread there we go this is the easy part assembly this thing comes together real quick just slice your bread we're gonna take some of the peperoncini juice and spread that on the bread I know it seems odd what tastes good since Eddie doesn't not like olives we're gonna we're gonna leave like a little section without the all of your I think he's missing out boys don't ruin it I think he's missing out thinking smell it from here I know doesn't look quite the termite news tell us what you're really feeling I'm gonna sneak someone to his side just over so you can put this down as thicker as soon as you want it actually carries a decent amount of flavor but I find well if you like olives put it down thick very so we gotta build basically two layers of meat you could put more on but two layers but this many meats gives you a a pretty hearty sandwich peppers go down first layer the sharp provolone I recommend sharp or mild on that so we're also preheating the oven okay set at the intro what's nice about this is it we're gonna toast it on the griddle but it stays in the oven without drying out and actually gets better a little bit seven water gel this is mortadella no they slice it nice and thin to go with salami there's no particular order Fermi's put it down over you like [Music] alright so observe Eddie section good section Eddie section is it yes this thing is pretty heavy so you're gonna need like a baking sheet or a cookie sheet to get it out to your drill I don't know what weighs blood but probably coming in at 3 or 4 pounds so let's just close it up you can see that's you know 2 plus layers that beast it is a beast and grills on whole ovens on 170 let's get it up there got the grill on low you know put that on a bed of oil don't forget have your oven warm and we're just gonna put that beast down in the oil we want it on low because you don't want the bread to start to burn you basically want to toast the bread and get the toaster bread and start to get the inside a little warm and like a panini we're going to compress it so this is where it helps to be fat like me not skinny like Chris so that's that's all my hundred and sixty pounds that I can put on it yep so just gonna rest like that for a little bit throw a couple weights on it and that's it take a break take a half five team in a break and we'll check it and flip it maybe drizzle a little bit more oil down here up the bread crisp up we'll be back at the flip so guys it's been a ball I don't know five minutes let your nose be your guide you don't want the bridge to burn use your big spatula to give this a flip because it is heavy nice and crisp cheese are starting to melt rest that back on it Chris take that and we're gonna go back back to the heavyweight we go back to my my diet light weight press that's a little hot be careful you don't burn your hands we're gonna give that another couple minutes on that side maybe three four we'll bring it in all right so we're about done here probably been three minutes four minutes chris is gonna grab a cookie sheet what we're really looking to do is that just crisp up the bread melt the cheese a little bit definitely like I said you have to use your spatula now we go in the house look at that how good does that look smells incredible too so here's where the advantage of being able to do this ahead of time before people show up thumbs in gonna grab like a big real big piece of foil and we're just gonna put this right on there like that a little wrap make a half the little house for it Chris you still get those pot holders on all right did you drop that in the oven we are gonna eat it but the point hold on here the point is that you don't have to be cooking while people while people are here right you can you can store this for 30-40 minutes I don't know if I can keep these guys at bay for 30 or 40 minutes but it doesn't get any worse right it kind of like just melts together and it tastes really good so we'll cut for now have another drink and then we'll pull it out of the oven and we'll show you guys what it looks like all right so it's out of the oven it's really crispy one thing about this is a little tricky to cut so if he starts to kind of saw this way you can tend to pull it apart so what I find works is go down with the point and then pull down and make sure you get through the bottom and then you can come in like that here's the big reveal right look at that yummy that's a sandwich now I forget which part had no wallop so [Music] [Laughter] so you can serve this I mean it's a hearty sandwich like I I don't think you need to go with like giant slices cuz there's a lot of meat on this and a decent amount of bread so it's for picking for people so you kind of you don't want to go too crazy yeah kind of like it's a good portion for somebody right yeah I was gonna say cousin ham again yeah absolutely again wow it's a lot of meat you can always come back for seconds all right let's take out a piece for Eddie look at that no Amish all right doing we all been eatin it and it's really good and you see quite a bit of eaten there but what do you guys think it's worth the worth doing one or not worth doing I think so yeah I'm not a huge person and this was made it work definitely just really nice butter flavors come wear it out actually with me but especially from the meat you should just talk take your mind on the bread do like the bread is actually perfect we're just kind of crazy because that bread was so big and that they cut down like I'm like real crunched up and the bread is excellent yeah like though baby my favorite part is not I like the whole thing but the red peppers that contains yeah yeah they store endeavors like it adds just a good combination really good alright hey guys if you like this video do us a favor and it's crime it helps us grow a channel devil views if people don't subscribe YouTube doesn't share we share their absolutely thanks so much for tuning in I hope everyone enjoys the Superbowl we will see you
