everyone Christian here for c-care apps so videos must go on still going to do videos so let's talk about inlays today and why and where we should do them so we do inlays in areas that have deep recesses or deep pockets or they're just very awkward for the film to get into also what can happen here well up here is a definite no-go so we're not going to be able to reach the film into up here which would be impossible because as soon as we cut here away here the vinyl when you put it down is going to go straight down to about here and we're still going to miss inside here so we need to wrap a little bit deeper we're looking for full coverage and we want the vinyl to last so if you did for example try to take this film and stretch it in here there's a hot there's a really good chance that it's going to start lifting even if you do put a relief cut here it's going to start lifting in this area over here or over here so we put in in laying sections like this sections like this vary from car to car but you're what you're going to do is you're going to look for areas that look like they'll have high tension and when I say high tension we're talking about over stretching the film to a point where it's a little bit risky when it comes to installing it you might be afraid that it might lift out so this is one of those areas right here from bumpers tend to have them quite a bit some rear bumpers as well this is why we remove fog lights grills all that kind of stuff so that we can do the inlays in those areas first and then we could wrap over with the main piece afterwards you always want to do your inlays first before we wrap over with the larger piece because you want the larger piece to overlap the smaller piece for for the most part this one for example this bottom seam hit the bottom edge here with overlapped bolt face up but this one will face down which is the larger one and probably the more noticeable one so that edge on this piece of film is going to actually face down which is better than it facing up and this one facing down so we're just we do this piece first and then we overlap it so we're going to get going here this panel is completely fiber dust so we have no magnets involved today which makes things a little bit more tricky a little more difficult and then we're gonna start wrapping with this piece right here so we're using vivid loss sorry Matt slate gray I have the piece already cut to the shape and size that I need we're going to have to trim out some excess so what I'm going to do is I'm going to position this where I need it and then I'm going to hold it against the vehicle gently while we're moving a corner of the film peeling the sticker side off first which helps rather than trying to remove the backing off of the sticker itself and your stick a piece down over here as well what I'm going to do after this is trim out the excess filling that goes around the wheel just want to pick that there when I grab this video [Music] and we reduce our sneezes from this out there find where that wheel well is and that's the bottom of under air so wreck us we're leave a few inches all the way around make sure we can to find film and grab onto it purpose this just makes life a little bit easier when it comes to installing a panel we've trim up the excess that we don't really need so I'm going to leave this as it is right out and I'm going to try to start removing the vacuum by grabbing under here and rolling the film up so as you can as you notice I did preset this with micro space I'm simply going to trim it on the vehicle with my place because once you get to a certain skill level you're able to trim and cut the film by just scoring it as opposed to piercing all the way through it now we do have two layers of protection so I'm not going to worry about cutting through any to the paint there's always risk involved so if you're new at this record I recommend free laying your knife escape and then going [Applause] so let's write the truth part of this is going to be doing this without pulling the film too hard because it might slide off and I can I don't have any magnets for reassurance rating we want to contour the film over the fender this way but you can lay down and gloss this out a little bit better right now let's go from this side that's all but just kind of reading it stick that down there this is good traction on the door side right here that way when I pull across this way I'm not I'm not too concerned about pulling the film right off of my vehicle alright so you stick down whatever we can go from here we start stretching the film and glass it out across this area right here it was going to be we're going to be bridging the gap on this fender because of the way the spender is now it's a wide-body so I'm going to grab my heat gun and we're just gonna soften it up make it a little bit more pliable and what we need to do right now is contour right around the top part of the fender ring here so we're going to watch it watch it okay something like that now we're going to find our hard body line lead that's the door hardwired lines right there I'm going to work up from here lay in to the low point of this offender first okay it's very important because we're taking the stretch from the outer areas that way we're not working all the film into this tiny little part here and then bridging this recess so when we do bridge to reach our recess we want to make sure that we're not adding excessive tension so for here I can actually alleviate some of the tension from the edge and I can start laying it into this recess right here as you can see I don't have any tension at all going right in there no wrinkle there that's fine film is very easy to work with so alright so we have no bridging of this recess right here we didn't have to that one was a bit more in the middle of the fender in the middle of the panel so it made it a little bit more difficult and we had to bridge this one for the most part to make our life a little bit easier so we'll pull up here and finish off this section from here we're going to work down so here's the door top the fender all the way across here you want to get these is air out of here because if I go if I start squeezing too low we're going to trap all this air right up there so again we have a kind of bridge near East bridging a gap right here at the end of that so if I don't do this properly ready a lot of wrinkles right so we have to work the film accordingly on how it wants to listen so we just reposition it again and take our time or I can do actually right now is put a bit of a relief cut all right now here's the edge I know that I have my in Lane here I'm gonna come a little bit lower I'm gonna lift this gnome up so I don't scratch the inlay underneath and we're going to create a relief cut all right so this is going to make life a lot easier it's going to make the film go a little bit funny but you can reposition it so much better all right and on top of that we're not creating excessive tension in this area anymore because now I can relieve the tension from here if I hold it out there are some fingers building up here but that's not that's not a concern at all because there's actually still no tension here this is just from the film starting to bunch together as I squeegee it through we're going to try and try to spread this out a little bit even it out there we go that doesn't really matter at this point we start working here here we just want to work our way more so in the middle out get the arrow yeah there's the bottom of the fender now again we have no tension here so I'm going to start laying all this in this recess down here and voila if you now that that part the vein offenders wrapped right now just have to finish this bit off right here pull down squeeze you there out and it's all done all right so now that's done we got to get rid of excess film so let's do I'm going to trim off this bottom piece right here if I run my finger over this edge of it I can see the inlay that I put there make sure when you're cutting film on top of film you're pushing gently with a very sharp blade all right I'm going to come a little bit high here make sure I have enough film to wrap over this edge right here let's get this out of the way we can come down here cut right in between the door gap and then again I'm going to come up a little high on this on the corner simply so I can round it off really nicely and then come back down so I've come really close to the corner leaving just enough to wrap around the edge that way we have full coverage come back down and then come straight out of here now we can get dicey right out of the way so what's next here let's get rid of this bit right here so I'm going to fold it in get it around [Music] to get some of these wrinkles out before I trim it [Applause] let's go here so I can create some relief here making sure there's no tension I can see the edge I'm putting tension on the film just to find the edge so I can know where to start scoring the film is how we start looking for our for our end link all right perfect so let's get rid of the rest of this and my own lake back of the blade on the backside right there all right we're not cutting on anything or into anything it's the last thing you want to do speed gentle so I get closer here I can start pushing in a little bit more because there's less and less tension until I come all the way around pull all that through right so now we've had the top section in here here what I do is I like to start on the on the actual hard edge nearly on on the panel itself as opposed to in the gap because it gives you a better feel for how much pressure you're applying if we start in the gap we could apply to too much or too little pressure so we want to make sure we're putting enough pressure on the blade so that we're able to just score it enough sometimes I don't cut them all the way and you have to go over it again not that I cut through all the way but sometimes I don't score it it up and I have to go over it again which is a little bit more risky than that case so you want to make sure we're doing this in one pass then we can just come out there you can start coming up here let's get this piece out of the way completely art I'm gonna leave a little excess on that corner that way I can take care of it and make it look pretty afterwards all right so for this one over here I know the fender tux in a little bit so we need to have a bit of a gap right here between this killer and the fender itself we put a relief cut so I can now tuck this piece underneath and then trim away the excess and if you want to see how to do this cornering and open up the door right now before I trim that off so now we have the door open we can also lay all the rest of that in there we want to obviously make sure we have full coverage here so I can see the edge the bottom edge of the fender double check it though making sure that I am where I think I am all right so my squeeze you'll actually go behind it right now just perfect where I want it and I'm going to take the back of the blade put it behind and get the rid of that RS of this now a bit of heat is to get that corner around a little bit start holding it around and then I'm going to just trim off the excess [Applause] where we going from the backside of that corner and very flush against the corner the left film that you have kicking around on the corners the easier it is going to be to make the corner look nice if you have too much film accumulating around the corner you try to fold all this film behind here everything it's gonna start to get messy and it's going to have wrinkles in it it's not going to last so you want to last and you want to look nice alright let me finish up inside at the door we'll get around to the front section here and then we're pretty much done it I feel like not to take this doesn't take too long this splendor is a bit exceptional exceptional in its style with the fact that we have to do an inlay here now if we talk about any inmates you can hide a lot of things with luck so if you wanted to hide this I mean we could have just left a black shirt but we want to do all its grain make the car look as complete as possible as far as a Rothko is not too many accidents we have other accents on the bumper and stuff like that but we want this to be gray and that was the decision we came to but you could if your car was white you could do this in black matte black gloss black whatever you want and then it's a little bit more hey you need a brush metal or something cool whatever you want you can have fun with these things you can make a little bit more customizable a little more style to the vehicle itself if you want just a more simple and clean look than you would do like this and have it all one color it's going to contour this around a little bit over here alright now we can start later I'm just right in the back of my blade on it I don't want to cut on pain sorry even though it's completely hidden no one will ever know that I cut on the paint if I did happen to cut there but we always avoid doing that as much as we can all right all right it's out of the way it's folding the rest of this right here and then we're going to get our way and then we're done so I got to jump a little bit around here but that's pretty much it this so we're going to drop in as far as the eye can see okay we don't need to go bonkers here and start wrapping up in your real well and stuff you just basically want to go in as far as the eye can see there's most parts have a splash guard and more or less you're going to feel with your finger on lip up the eyelid this edge is going to pretty much end somewhere I'm not exactly where you want to cut it [Applause] it's important to cut it on that edge and not go beyond it because if you go beyond it then you're going to have you might have some lifting so because you just are trapping dirty parts or an area that's plastic or something something weird go back to the blade again on the top side and the back side of that lip and we're good a little cutting down here all right that's it so just to reiterate what we did here we created it in lane here use nice escape here Michael escape here and then we cut that in layout first we inserting the areas that are having extreme depths or very hard to get to prior to laying in a larger piece reason being is that we want to look good we don't want it to fail we don't want to list and for the most part is that like I said if I caught right here on this edge it's going to come short in here so wherever maybe a centimeter or so short so and then we have a better looking and more durable product and that's how we do it like I said you can have fun with carbon fiber brush metal block whatever you want make it look cool anyway so hope you enjoyed this video guys who did his thumbs up you want to see more videos please do the subscribe button thanks take care
