the fantabulous game point-9 let's talk about this for a minute nearly three years ago I was sent an email by a game name by a guy named fantastic fantastic and near to be precise and that began this whole thing of sending me ironically shitty games it was called the fantastic game it's on YouTube you can check it out and then there was a second version of the fantastic game and then there were a ton of clones that were dubbed the egg likes the egg likes were a take on it was a riff on the idea of the eggs in the fantastic game then the fantabulous game came out and that was actually competent that was a game and it actually worked and there was combat and bosses it was really weird but it was the best of the shitty game genre but the thing is it is possible for some things to stop being funny as we've learned and the fantastic game in its many clones like alien jump and we'd chase for example stopped being funny pretty quickly and we soon discovered that the law of diminishing returns was was setting in and a lot of these games that people were making you know shitty on purpose were not in fact funny at all and so therefore I stopped playing them people were sending me emails with poorly worded you know sentences misspellings all caps and the games were inevitably getting worse and worse and even the ones that weren't terrible I still didn't want to play sure I played a few shitty games here and there but usually not too many of the ones that people made for me specifically based on the fantastic game the egg-like genre had died the thing is fantabulous the guy that makes this stuff fantabuloso whatever is actually he knows how to use unity unity is a very very powerful engine and I didn't realize that some of my favorite games are on unity legend of Dungeon rust it you can do a lot of good things with unity and it's just a matter of how much skill you have how much time and effort you put into it fantabuloso knows his [ __ ] no shamrock so this is the fantabulous game point 9 whatever and you know well you know here we are let's give it a shot you'll notice what's wrong with say whatever ugly attractive black sexy and fantabulous there are a few different buttons and there are some different weapons apparently so there you go let us check this out this is a game that doesn't pretend to be anything more than it is except for what it is it's not terrible and people have been saying there's a lot of work put into this so here we go it's been a few years and two years just about and now we have the fantabulous game and I'm just gonna adjust the volume real quick push play new game will erase data's oh look we found a secret no we didn't nevermind okay so there's a zoom all right we've got three health this forest looks different get that opportunity again it's well designed it is well designed mostly but it's very well program it's just gonna take forever okay there we go now we're gonna get a chance come on come on come on gonna try to get the Donkey Kong music again it's a glitch it'll start playing again when you get further in alright so no worries then maybe it'll show up no oh yeah yeah there we go okay good it's just it helps it's nice to have the music [Music] but yeah that boss was pretty good I have to say that was very very impressive it like I said it was a little frustrating I don't I would not take that back because the thing about it is getting getting your shots into that one specific spot was challenging very challenging and could be very frustrating for people that don't have good aim like me but I eventually figured it out I guess [Music] I'd have to be so dark in here I was hoping there'd be a light source okay I have to figure out [Music] I can't see anything so for me right now I'm just pretty much shot in the dark nothing [Music] can't quite make it [Music] can't leaving it's interesting to see the contrast between what you were doing two years ago with this game and what you're doing now fantabulous I'm very I'm impressed [Music] [Music] find a hidden sausage nice [Music] love me some hidden sausage [Music] okay it really does remind me of the games that you're putting the music in of I'm getting Donkey Kong 64 vibes from the collections and just the level progression it's kind of cool it makes me miss those games a little bit maybe not how collecti they were it was like Donkey Kong 64 was the epitome of the collection genre as much as I like that game it's a little tough to play these days because it's just switch character get thing switch character get another thing switch character get thing but I'm really kind of jonesing for one of those games Jonesy that's that's something you don't hear very often when you're when you're jonesing for something jonesing for a bones in [Music] so there's the health guy [Music] time yeah I've been I'm in the loop about that game I had in time it looks cool I hope it works out I gotta say I'm not overly thrilled about the some of the looks of the characters I don't know if that's gonna come across as blasphemy but I think the game looks cool I like the idea I like what they're doing with it but some of the character designs look a bit bland to me [Music] I'm still gonna play it though [Music] health guy has a sausage too late yeah grant kirkhope actually did some music for it well it's like it just looks better and better as it as I go along you can see this game is just fantabulous learning how to make a game [Music] [ __ ] is this all right [Music] well this level's [ __ ] huge [Music] yeah jumping in first person is not something I would love to do for an entire game though so I don't know if you're gonna do third person when you eventually do something with this game This really pissed me off too, I was one hour in and gonna come back to it this week on my video night and watch the rest and I find this happened.
