anniversary of game boy advance or as many have called it the game boy advanced i'm gonna show you hopefully a mix of good and bad i have um game boy advance home brew i have good and bad games for the game boy game boy color and game boy advance so it's just a big handheld cluster today [Music] i figured for bad game boy games i could be on game boy camera right now okay so we're filming a movie we're gonna escape from the jail cell and this is the animaniacs video game and it's there are critics uh oh we have a problem my controls are bound to game boy camera look at what's happening when i move you can see the the tiles go up and down do you get to fight in this game do you the camera is pretty nauseating and i'm not talking about my face let's run around and look for some fruit [Music] cut did i fail so wait you have to do the exact thing the director wants you to do otherwise you just fail this is giving me a headache it's giving me a headache too and then every now and then i'll look at the camera and see it go like full bright at least you get the outline of the alien um something tells me the dexter's laboratory game is gonna be much better this game is impossible to complete due to a bug says a chat member i believe it i watched this show when i was a kid i didn't watch a lot of other shows regularly but whenever dexter was on i liked it because it was science so in order to punch because dexter used his punch to solve problems that's a thing that i remember from the show very clearly um lots of dexter punching things in the face you need 25 dds is this like mario 64 where you have to get the stars but in this case you have to get dd's all right dede you must be caught how do i catch didi use the claw how do you use the claw oh i see i can use the claw oh okay this claw is kind of [ __ ] creepy and i don't like that it comes out of dexter's crotch oh this is a truly frustrating and and un unfun experience that's why i'm hoping green eggs and ham by doc dr seuss we'll be good welcome to the game board let's get ready to let's get ready to have some fun is the space line the mario 3 bonus game baseline [Music] what happened to the camera even like a one button mini game where you just jump and collect the green eggs and ham because they have to make it soos like somehow is terrible [Music] those that don't know game boy camera was a little camera peripheral that you would put on your game boy and you could take pictures like you see here it was amazing for its time we have to now try the game boy games rugrats time travelers they're babies [Music] go [ __ ] yourself [Music] is this nonsense it looks like the claw has barbed wire around it that's probably safe that's the cord nah barbed wire guaranteed [Music] safe for all children i can't think of a more safe place for children to uh play in than a gold like an old like abandoned gold mine nickelodeon was very irresponsible in their message super duper sumos why are people saying oh no i didn't expect this i thought we were gonna like to have sumo wrestling time and now we're just fighting like like lackeys like mob lackeys in the forest okay apparently they fart on each other chat was saying that there was like like farts that they do to each other you should look up the cover art to this game what could be so bad about the cover art to the game it had to be sellable in a store hang on i have um the box art oh no [Music] oh no you you hawk show ghost files um spirit detective yuyu hakusho it's like donkey kong country chat why you don't like the donkey kong country approach where you just like hand vomit all of the backgrounds and then 3d model the character and then animate them vinnie you have to get hit by a car [Music] what the first episode is getting hit by a car and dying so that's not jape's then it's time to get hit by the car yes i mean oh [Music] what just happened am i dreaming [Music] mission failed try again wait but i'm dead already i'm just gonna pretend that that's the way things went that hack show got um into a bunch of fights got hit by a car trying to save a kid died went to the underworld got eaten by a green slime and then just like double died hey ren what stinky i had some game boy running stimpy game that was terrible i hope it wasn't this one oh man this is maybe bringing back some dark memories as you can see by my face i think i had this one because i'm feeling a certain level of like my throat kind of hurts like i think the tonsil memory is coming back of of me being in pain and playing a terrible video game only a couple games left and i think you'll enjoy it i hope you will these homebrew games are pretty interesting so yeah i have the game boy camera it works now it doesn't i'm in the first grade i'm working really hard to get mario late he just wants sex so forget the wedding bells jumping on little mushrooms and turtle cells [Music] well this is horribly underwhelming for whatever the [ __ ] we just heard it's this kind of game this could be called sonic balls like it could be anything it doesn't have to be mario balls specifically i mean chat how much more of this do you need crazy ball control so this is 3d textured polygons in modern games it's called oh my god so i mentioned before that gba had some bad 3d this is um as yeah this is 3d oh look it's us um a number of racing games and first person shooters just were not cut out for the gba or gba was not cut out for them but there were a couple good ones doom was decent um tony hawk did a good thing with 3d there was a couple racing games that actually did it pretty decently port of the first graphical adventure game or one of uh rogue this is the original rogue it's not the roguelike it's the rogue so yeah i mean it's it's basically a little dungeon crawler it's all randomly generated many games that we play these days were influenced by the mechanics of this game and thus became rogue-likes nice t-pose is that a stormtrooper is that like a thick stormtrooper this was an amiga game chat seems to like this game chat's saying that this is a good game so this is a port of the commercially successful amiga game is later ported to numerous other consoles it says here yeah i mean weirdly enough i've never even heard of this game whoa oh now that is a little wait wait what what that's enough to kill you you can kick you have to jump okay oh it's like a tooth it's like a warm tooth i did it i did it chat gremo worm tooth whatever this encounter is i'm going to fail it impressive looking game for its time and for the gba as well um this is called astro hawk advance the stereo is mental what's that noise you can't just put a windows noise as a sound effect in a video game people will know it's very basic you shoot you turn you shoot some more so i got the right side of the controller north has the left north can you can you move upwards thank you north go go that way go go that way no that way that that spin okay and north has given up not entertaining enough a torn pocket production 2002 home brew who who could this be i'm sorry whomp's whompster is this this is some bootleg ass [ __ ] [Music] every enemy is homer okay please i like how they modified this pre-existing sprite of some kind but yet left the top left life counter as the original sprite also i guess they ran out of enemies so they just make the player an enemy at one point good boy advance well that's a heck and chunker oh heck [Music] red rage this music is making me a little nauseous i mean the pixel art is nice the animations are fine but so i guess um i don't know if enemies ever appear but it looks like you just destroying the environment with your gun i sacrificed my blaster so it's one or the other you either get to jump have a shield or have a gun music oh my god oh my god these are the worst sounds ever why is chat wasting brain cells is it because the music is hurting you don't touch the brains it says chat don't touch them i think my brain is as broken as the sound in this game power pig this gravity gun is yours son use it as you want now i'm a pig with gravity gun and my name is power pig so wait you have to like use your your thing to collect green animals you can freeze the animal but you have to kill the animal turn it into um an orb before you can collect it safely it's so repetitive oh my [ __ ] god it doesn't stop bumping professor sinister and his marauding mechanics what are these scummy sounds and sound effects and music the music is fine here but like the whole night [Music] like this is as oh god you can see a little ass there's like some crack sonic epoch [Music] this game was initially developed for ms-dos by the same person who later on developed super mario bros 3 mix and super sponge bros what south bird snively are my mata transporters ready oh yes sir all preliminary tests have been successful there's still a minor concern about critical high energy tolerance that may or may not cause problems what type of intolerance are we facing here sniffly south bird made this in 2004 wow talent [ __ ] dude i'm telling you southward three mix is one of the best mario 3 um rom hacks i've ever played i mean not bad for 2004 and i know like he's probably young when he did this right it's still pretty cool for what it is it's also made for goss hardware that's true yeah it's i mean the the level design is very very much not sonic i don't know a lot about sonic but i know this isn't usually what sonic plays like okay chad i've had enough of the homebrew it's it's i don't know if this was as popular a movie as a bug's life but this was on hbo all the time and stallone played like a jacked ant oh you can shoot i just noticed there's a shoot button you could shoot pickaxes i really feel like i'm an ant it makes you feel like you're an ant i have um my allergies are starting again it's fun i i've um i've taken zyrtec and it mostly worked it was worse earlier don't rely on zyrtec too much i took it for years and my [ __ ] exploded water well you know funny you should say that because water in this ants video game actually kills your ant growing up i would look at all the cracks in the ground and each one was like a map it was fun and then i would you know enjoy catching them for my tree frogs when i had those anyway i just but i don't want my [ __ ] to explode from allergies that's what i'm trying to say i tried i gave it as as much of a fair chance as i could cannon fodder is next no no no no no no they really try to include a song with lyrics on the gameboy color mission first blood phase one of one a very good day to you it's a good thing they they spent all of the [ __ ] resources they had on voices again though you know for its time it probably had something kind of going for it i mean it's playable some games maybe just keep them on their original hardware or wait a couple years for it to become more available okay so there's casper and i'm sure a character from the movie that animation was great protect the ooze i think it's a series of four mini games oh it's um this [ __ ] game defender missile command with no missiles you have to be like perfectly precise i don't really get this like imagine a child trying to figure this out they probably could that face [Music] what was happening
