Valheim mod install tutorial using Vortex(read update as this keeps breaking)

hey everyone it's monkey as promised I'm going  to show you how to install some mods for valheim   we're going to be using a mod manager I think it  makes it a lot easier to deal with if you're like   me you want to get into the action then this  is the video for you I'm going to pause the   video for a moment uninstall all of my mods and  then show you how easy it is step by step to get   the manager and a handful of mods installed and  that should set you up for understanding how to   get any other mods that you want whether  it's for valheim or for other games so   let's do this now as a reminder I will  be posting links down in the description   to make it easier for you to get to any URL  that I provide the first thing you want to do   is to go to nexusmods.com you're going to have to  create an accounting create a free account all of   this is free there are paid things you can do but  but everything I'm doing here is free you'll want   to create an account and then you'll want to go if  you already have an account you go to support and   you go to install Vortex and it'll say download  the latest version now that's what we're going to   do you'll just want to scroll down until you see  a manual download grab the the latest version of   vortex it'll tell you if there's any additional  files that are needed like you need.net.6   framework just click on click on download if you  don't have .net 6.0 you'll want to click on that   link and download it as well with free membership  you get slow download you can sign up for premium   stuff we're just doing it free it'll download  pick an appropriate location to uh to download   your stuff I'm just going to go to my downloads  folder okay now that it's done downloading you'll   either see it at the bottom here however however  you get your files I'm just going to click on it   to start installing it you have to click to  allow it to make changes to your computer you'll see an icon that's going to show up  on your desktop over on the left hand side   Vortex will launch up once it is installed  and up and running you should be at your   dashboard and navigate to games on the  side over here you have no manage games yet   uh you want to find the game you want to manage  so in our case we're going to search for valheim   and we're going to click on the manage button  we give it access control it will add valheim   to our managed schemes and then sometimes you'll  see notifications up here it'll tell you whether   or not you need to give permissions to uh to  certain things so we're just going to go to   mods down here we don't have any installed mods  now what we're going to do we're going to go   back to our Chrome browser and the first mod we  want to get is going to be configuration manager   since we have Vortex installed we're just  going to click on the vortex button right here   again we're going to pick slow download now we  have the option to open Vortex it'll open Vortex   to download the mod you can see it download in  Vortex you can check the box if you always want   to allow this to happen I'm just going to do  it manually you'll see over here downloads it   showed up grabbed that configuration manager  mod and there it is it's sitting in our mods   tab now it's important to have configuration  manager 0.5.0 installed and the reason why is   I've run into issues with any newer versions of  configuration manager just not showing up when you   go to launch the game now we want to go and grab  weapon EX you want to look down in the description   for the link to beppany X that I've provided  we want to click to install this by vortex same process while that's going on we're going to  go ahead and click on over on Farm grid   click on download with vortex same process  now if you go back to the previous tab it's   going to say do you want to open with Vortex if  you didn't check this box to allow it to always   uh you know use Vortex for things go ahead  and do that go to farm grids tab say open   with Vortex fog of War we're going to click on  the vortex button it's going to tell us that   we need to install bepan ex and we'll get to  that in a moment let's just click on download   you'll go through the same process as before  Epic Loot same thing click on the vortex button   again this also wants beppany X Skip that  just click on the download button you   get the gist now that we've done that  we're going to go back over to vortex   okay we have to click on some Elevate some  deployments we'll let these things get installed now you should have configuration manager fog of   War explore radius Farm grid Epic  Loot and this denixon weapon ex 5.4.1901 installed again there are  different versions of Bethany X   but the one that works with the zero five  zero configuration manager is this 5.4   0.19 version now that those are all  installed we're just going to launch valheim and you're going to see Bethany X this window  should pop up if it didn't pop up there's probably   some troubleshooting involved at any step along  the way if you've run into any issues you can post   a comment down below and I will try to respond  and get you the assistance you need otherwise   valheim should come up the big the only big  difference you're going to see on this screen   in front of you is this open config menu button in  the lower left corner that exists if open config   menu doesn't show up then your configuration  manager is not installed properly Maybe   you accidentally installed configuration manager  17.1 you need to disable that one re-enable 0.5.0   that would be the quick troubleshooting for that  one if you have any other troubleshooting issues   with configuration manager you can let me know  put this button down here should now show you   bepan ex Epic Loot Farm grid and fog of war or or  whichever mods you chose to install or not install   those are the mods that I use I already  have a short video overview of the   specific configurations I'm using for  my valheim epic Loop playthrough which   there will be a link down below to the first  episode in that series as well lastly we're   just popping in the game to make sure that  everything uh everything functions the game   launches properly you should have a hotkey bound  to your mods it should be F1 I'm going to open   my inventory here real quick and click on F1  so I can see my configuration manager there   it is got all my mods you'll see my screens  chopped off I normally record an ultrawide   um but yeah there's all my mods all the all the  configurations are in there you can add it to your   heart's content anyway that's the base install  of getting Vortex installed on your computer   and getting a handful of mods installed I would  say the trickiest ones are getting configuration   manager right and getting uh bepinex installed  there's a lot of ways to do this you could like   I said you can do all of these manually there's  a manual way to get to get bepinex installed   but the way I just showed you using the  links that I provide down in the description   that's the easiest way to to just get  things working so you can just kind of   get a few mods that maybe improve your quality of  life or that are as game changing as Epic Loot I   can't say enough good things about it I don't know  the guy who made it personally but uh brilliant   job adding magic items to the game super awesome  that's it for the video if you have any questions   about anything leave comments down below I will
