well hello everybody this is Tech nooli fun with Hackintosh of course so guys in the Hackintosh World things are always changing you know they keep coming out every year with a new OS Apple does of course and then things change the up the open core gets upgraded to make it support the newer os's so I I have done a USB port mapping video before it's pretty much the same but good news the open core people got some things to work that didn't work back with big sir and it used to be to do Port mapping you had to install Catalina then do your USB port mapping and then upgrade now we don't have to do that all right so now I'm going to show you how we do USB port mapping in 2024 now a year from now it'll probably change but let's worry about that then okay but first I want to thank everybody you know I started selling these motherboards with OS already on them I don't know a couple months ago and you guys are just uh loving this service and so I do too um I get deals on motherboard sometimes are open box um but they all have factory warranty and I'm having a hard time keeping them in stock um if there's a particular motherboard that you're looking for please email me at techn tips gmail.com or just go to the website and uh go down here to the bottom and you can contact us there and I will do what I can to get the motherboard if you don't see uh you know the one you're looking for here now um I get these in weekly so this page changes uh probably two times a week so you want to keep your eye open uh on these to see if there is something that you're looking for because it changes all the time just added this uh ITX motherboard for those of you that want to do a small case U Hackintosh really good motherboard ASRock as Wi-Fi built in of course and Bluetooth sleep works so good deal on that I've got more ITX coming but um you know thank you so much thank you very much for uh helping me out there of course the purchase EFI page is doing very well now you can actually order the custom EFI here if you don't see it over here now all of these efis are efis that I have actually made installed done USB port mapping and everything is working okay so these you can just go ahead and purchase and they're good to go of course we still have our custom PC builds if you want to me to build you a PC and um then we also have the get Mac OS installed and the way this service works is you send me your motherboard CPU and your nbme or SSD um I always tell people use this box it's $17 I think it's 18 now the price just went up can you believe it everything goes up uh anyhow I got to change that and then just click here and um you just say what you want to do here which OS you want to install and then I ship it back to you and shipping back to you is included in this 59 now I don't make any money on this service um it sometimes takes me if it's a motherboard I've never done it might take several hour to get it to work but what I do do is then I take this EFI from your motherboard and I sell it over here on purchase efis so that's where I hopefully make up the the discounted price here okay so anyways thanks again for buying all the motherboards and stuff so let's uh let's get into this um we stopped this video um after the install so what we've got now is let me open up OC auxiliary tools and you're going to need o OC auxiliary tools so once you're installed you're installed Mac OS then you want to download it or put it on a thumb drive and put it onto the PC so we're assuming right now you've installed the OS you're right here and you need to do Port mapping so I'm going to use OC and I'm going to open up the right here my USB stick EFI okay this is what I installed the Mac OS with right so there's the EFI okay so we go over here to Kernel and we have this inject all kext now this is version eight it is very important that you use version eight because the old version didn't work it's right here on my downloads page right there that's version eight so go ahead and grab that and then of course we already did this in the previous video and then of course we have our uh xhci Port limit checked here and this is what the fabulous open core guys got working is this didn't work back in big Ser monor raay days but now it is so thankfully with this turned on and the USB injecto all of our USBS are showing up with hacking tool make sure you download hacking tool you're going to need it we go over here to USB and you can see here we've got all of the USBs that are in this PC and you can see there's a bunch and let me tell you something there's too many in Windows there's no USB port limit but in Mac OS there is 15 total USB ports that means let's say you've got a usb3 port so you got to count it twice you got to count it twice because you can plug a USB 2 device device in that USB 3 and you can plug in a USB 3 so those count for two so this is a total of 15 so we've got to narrow it down and sometimes guys on uh some of the newer motherboards you have to eliminate some ports on your back of your board and you choose which ones you want to eliminate let's say it's got uh four USB twos and you're like I don't need that many USB twos in other words the black Port okay let me show you here real quick I want to make sure you guys thoroughly understand this usb2 let me see if I can just find a picture real quick I should have had this ready for you but all right right here notice right here this is black in here this is very typical of usb2 all right so let's do uh right here it is perfect so a usb2 port is this this little plastic piece is black now a lot of motherboards have usb2 ports and that's all they are so these count as one well there's actually two USBS here so this would be two but these count for One USB port the usb3 each one of these counts as two ports because I can still plug a USB 2 device in here and I can plug a usb3 device in here so I hope you understand what I'm saying here's a great picture too showing USB 2 only these are USB 23 now let's don't forget about USBC not seeing a picture real quick here but uh USB 2 uh three excuse me I typically I don't worry about us plugging a USB 2 device in USBC I just make them work as a usb3 device okay so um that's all we really need to do is we need to know what our ports are on the back of our case and we have to check them now you're going to need a usb2 device which again black inside is USB 2 blue or red inside is going to be a usb3 device so what I have is I have a USB mouse dongle that I use as my USB 2 device and let me show it to you here it is right here USB receiver now I've also got this thumb drive plugged in and there it is it's a usb3 thumb drive so I've got a usb3 thumb drive and I've got a USB receiver now if you don't have a USB receiver you could use a USB keyboard wired or you could use a thumb drive that has the black plastic inside that's going to be a usb2 device so what we're going to do is I like to start with USB 2 all right so what I'm going to do I'm going to unplug that USB receiver which is a USB 2 and I'm going to plug it in every USB port on the back of this board okay you're going to see it pop up now you say why is it popping up in different areas because it's on a different device it's not always the same location ID or Port okay so I'm just plugging into every one of these all right there we go and then on this particular computer I also have a USB three on the front so I'm going to plug it in there and a USB right there now you'll notice it popped up many times in the same place that's because they're on a Hub motherboards have built-in Hub sometimes which is really good for us because we're trying to limit 15 USB ports all right so I'm done with USB 2 plug my USB keyboard thing back in there and now I've got a usb3 device all right and this is a thumb drive so I'm just going to start plugging it in you're going to see it pop up see those are on the same Hub now that's a different Hub okay then these other ones back here are usb2 so I'm not going to bother with that and then I have front USB devices okay all right so the beautiful thing about ha hacking tool is every place that I plugged in it turns green so all of these other ones we need to eliminate so what I do is I just come over here and start clicking on them and I hold down the command key and start clicking on all of these that had no USB device okay okay so there we go so we want to eliminate these come right down here and click delete all right now let's check it out 1 2 3 4 five 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 perfect so I'm allowed to have 15 or less I've got 14 I click right here to export and this is going to give me the CeX that I need right here you want to use USB port kex to put into my EFI all right so I'm going to go over here and I'm going to open up the EFI on my internal SSD okay all right we'll go over here to Kernel and here's our U USB inject all okay and here is our xhci Port limit we want to uncheck that go over here and let's do it proper let's go to computer let's go to EFI EFI OC text and we want to get rid of this now because we don't need it anymore so we'll get rid of that and we'll put put in our USB port text all right now let's go over here and check it out make sure it showed up it did show up I'm going to move it up above these sensor Cs and uh there we go we've got this off we click save all right now let's reboot the computer and see if our Port limits are working okay we'll log back in and let's open up hacking tool we'll go over to USB now remember before this thing was full well there you go that's our 14 now let's make sure let's hit this broom the clear all and then we'll hit the recycle there we go I only have one USB device plugged in right now and that's my USB receiver for my keyboard and mouse so that is it that's how easy it is nowadays in 2024 to do USB port mapping and uh this will take care of a lot of issues for you mice's not acting right um what it does is when you have too many ports turned on they start conflicting and they cause sleep issues and it's just it's not a perfect world I'm not saying that you couldn't run your PC with just you know USB inject all and U right here or and the uh xhci Port limit enabled but this is a better this is much better uh you've got both your USB twos threes and this computer doesn't have a c but if it did we would be showing it here so um I want to thank you guys uh for watching the video and um if there's any questions that you have about this or anything shoot me an email and um I'll try to help you out okay thanks so much for watching my video please like And subscribe you do you realize how many of you guys are watching that are not subscribed come on now give it give me a little hand there and go ahead and subscribe it really helps out my channel helps me out it doesn't cost you anything and uh we're always doing videos on Hackintosh to uh to help to help people out and everything to keep it alive all right fun with Hackintosh thanks again we'll see you on the next one
