Urban Fighting Bag - Evade, Fight, Recover

hey what's going on youtube back at it again and listen i've been talking a while about this you know definitely getting yourself prepared for different urban environment scenarios maybe it's going to be a get home bag maybe it's a bug out bag you know but i think that it might be prudent to show you my urban fight kit my urban fight kit it is definitely designed for evade fight and recover but first if you're the type of person that likes man cave survival gear all that type of stuff hit the subscribe button below i see about 90 percent of you that that visit the channel are not yet a part fight kit it's in your face right um and it's just definitely the type of kit that you might want to keep and you know maybe give you some ideas about what you may want to keep in yours and how i put mine together and why i chose some of the items that i have first let's start with a reason why you would even want an urban fight kit so you know imagine you live in a big city like i do i live in dallas and you know unrest civil unrest happens you need to get home or you need to get out and you need to use relatively few tools to get yourself out of an environment and also be prepared to possibly possibly evade uh fight and recover as you get yourself out of a sticky situation so you know i think it's a good idea to kind of have an urban fight kit and so i put together a bag to keep you know with me at all times just in case there is a point in time for me i won't be trying to get out the city i have a family i'm going to use my urban fight kit to get back to my family or at least try so here we have the 5 11 18 covert 2.0 so you know 511 makes top-notch gear the reason that i went with the 511 2.0 several reasons first off they're a tried and true brand they're known for their gear being very durable but another reason i definitely wanted to go with them is that they have hidable labels right so this branding here can actually be tucked away see if i can do that one hand there we go you can tuck that away so now no one knows that you're carrying a 511 bag so all the branding throughout the bag can be tucked away it's a very normal looking bag it's a type of bag that you can go gray with right and it uh itself has really good padding on it the strollers the shoulders are phenomenal the back support is phenomenal you know so you have all these different items and different support that you can have it is ready for um you know water bladder ready if you want to put a bladder in here i don't have a bladder in here but if that's the type of stuff you like to carry it has really nice straps here very very subtle molly webbing on the shoulder strap so that you can strap something to it we'll talk about what i have on the outside of the bag here in a second and so as you bust inside the bag i'll show you more about why i specifically wanted to go with this bag as well so while we're at it let's talk about some of the things that are kept on the outside of the bag so the first thing we have here is the grail gold press purifier this purifier is the type of purifier you can use on the go so it removes viruses bacteria and it has a built-in filter right so if you're coming up on a creek or something like that you're moving through an environment you can take out this center core you fill this up with water so you fill this part up with water and then you press you hard press the filter through the water and it filters out all those toxins right and you literally just screw this top back on once you have this top screw back on you can immediately drink the water this thing is kind of pricey i think it comes out about 90 dollars but this is the fastest way to filter water on the go and i know we have the sewer the water filtration systems and stuff like that those are noisy they're bags and if i'm in a fight environment and i'm trying to evade i'm trying to be stealthy i want something that i can not only filter water on the go but i know i'm going to be able to store a lot of water as well so this is one of the coolest you know inventions i've seen as of late and definitely something that had to be a part of my urban fight bag and it's just something that you know i i trust to be able to use on the fly speaking of using on the fly we flip over my bag we look on the underside of the bag you've seen this in my get home bag so i have a little condor pouch here inside of that is some pepper gel some pepper gel this is my first line of defense for my uh urban fight kit so my first goal is to evade right and put myself keep myself out of harm's way because as tough as we may think we are the safer you can keep yourself and make your way home the better what better way to do that with some pepper gel so here you simply engage the pepper gel you flip this up you put your finger inside you spray it and you know i've been sprayed with pepper gel i can fight through pepper gel and it's something i learned in the marine corps i was actually a martial arts instructor while in the marine corps we were sprayed with pepper gel we had to fight through it so if you buy this stuff if you have the tolerance level to use it you know i'm saying go for it try this stuff out so you kind of used to it and that way when you're using it it's not going to be a complete surprise to you for the first time flipping the bag over and so we're still looking at this inconspicuous bag here and so we dig into the uh we're standing on the uh the outermost front part of the bag has a complete flip open pouch in the flip open pouch you know i have my med pack here this map pack here is from basic medicalgear.com i'll link them up below i love this med kit this is one of my favorite edc med kits that i have they have it in this really tough molly utility pouch so i have mine a touch in the front of my bag simply with one small hero clip and i do that for several reasons so when i open this bag up if i need to flip down now i can access my magazine pouches it has a slight subtle a molle webbing inside this bag once again one thing i love about the 511 bag system it's really subtle so i have some emergency shears here so if i need to cut away some clothing and i need to get to some you know treat myself for some major wounds and i also have a tourniquet here and the thing about this tourniquet is i have it a little bit loose and if you have a tourniquet my recommendation is to you know take it obviously take it out of its packaging but loosen it up a little bit because most likely if you use a tourniquet you're going to be using it with one hand right so it's highly likely that you could be using it with one hand to apply to your other arm you could be applying it with one hand you know to your leg because you're trying to keep pressure on your own leg so you need to loosen the tourniquet up so that's easier to apply with one hand that's just a little pro tip for you so another thing i like about this bag is once you open it up you can roll this down and it does not have a front pocket so there's nothing to put quote unquote in that pocket you can flip this down now you have full access to your magazines in the front of the bag now why would you want access to magazines in the front of a bag well i'll tell you here on the side of the bag so we flip it to the side we have a concealed carry pouch you can access it if you're a right-hand shooter from the right or if you're a left-hand suitor you can also access it from the left so both sides have the zipper feature on the side so you have your concealed carry inside of here the concealed carry itself is stored inside of the bag via velcro so you pull it out and you're able to access your concealed carry very quickly and you're able to put down some action with your concealed carry without having any issues so i really like that feature the fact that it is it does have that little bit of velcro big patch of velcro right inside of here so that you can have your concealed carry inside the bag ready to rock and roll i can put the bag on on in front of my body and i can now i have the bag strapped in front of my body i can grab my concealed carry i have my extra magazines i'm ready to rock and roll if i need to do any reloads or anything like that so this is that's the ultimate fight right that's the ultimate fight this med kit itself is very very um like i said a very good med kit for edc it has a cpr mass so if you need to apply cpr to somebody else it has guys it has an israeli uh bandage in here and it ha it also has a sharpie so that you can write when did you apply that tourniquet so just in case you need to you know someone else needs to know how long that turning has been applied does have a chem light in here has some really good guys has some large bandages so this is a really good med kit for edc has some some gloves in here this is the type of bare bones kit that gets straight to the point because you want a kit for your fight kit that's going to be for those traumatic wounds you know not those little boo-boos that you might get as you're moving through and you're trying to evade and all that good stuff you know i guess you can throw some band-aids in there but you want some stuff that's gonna you want a kit that's going to help you from being taken completely out of the fight that's what that med kit is good for so if we transition to the front of the bag so it has a little bit of straps on the front here so those with those straps reveal you unclip those straps it has another compartment in the front of the bag and what i keep in the front of that bag are a pair of knuckle gloves now the reason i keep knuckle gloves is so that when it's time to go when it's time to put in some work it's time to put in some action i now have equivalent you know just another hard layer for the purposes of punching and these are really rugged gloves just in case i need to use these in an urban environment for different situations moving wood moving metal trying not to get tetanus all that good stuff if i need to lay hands on somebody then these have the built-in knuckles here which are really good kind of gives you an advantage in a fight so that's one thing i want to keep on the ready in the front of my bag i also keep in here a pro-tec hla hl5x this is one of the brightest flashlights i have ever used this thing can be used multiple ways first off the light beam is so bright that you can use that as a defense itself also the very front of the light has this little bit of uh tactical jipping i guess i would call it you can use that as a self-defense tool use that to press against somebody push against somebody and that in and of itself is another self-defense mechanism this thing really lightweight it's black you can use this and now you have a way to light up the night especially if you're not concerned about maintaining your your night sight you're trying to move to an environment you need to illuminate where you're going to be going next it's important to have a powerful flashlight that is able to do that so as we transition to the back here there's a little pocket here in the front i call this my night night pack pocket because everything in here is what i intend to use in an urban environment to try to sleep until i'm able to move the next day so in here i have some audible alarms so i have several things a trip wire in here and you know the tripwire here is 80 80 uh 85 feet 84 pound test or 26 meters it's kevlar trip wire and it's just good to have for some a couple of reasons obviously it's a trip wire it's literally you can use it for what it says it can be used for but you take this trip wire you connect it to these audible alarms these audible alarms go at 124 decibels so now if you're trying to get a little bit of sleep in an urban environment you're trying to fight you're trying to evade now you're in the recover mode right you want to recover for a few hours you want to get back up get back into the fight try to get back home you can connect these and create a small perimeter around yourself and so now you have an audible alarm if these go off you know that someone's coming near you and you need to get up and you need to move or you need to get up and be ready to fight you know i don't have a full all out you know bivvy sack or sleeping bag i do have a more muted emergency blanket so instead of the bright orange emergency blankets you know i do have blue emergency blankets so that if i need to keep myself a little bit warm i will have the ability to do that so you know i'll use these emergency blankets just in case i'll try to layer these underneath a layer of clothing versus having these on top and finally i will keep one uh bright strike in the bag itself if i'm trying to moving throughout the urban environment and i want to have just a subtle green light that's not going to completely destroy my night vision it's also going to be a marker for myself so if i need to walk away from my location and i'm trying to remember where was i how did i get there how do i get back now i have this bright strike i can put this on a tree put this on a pole and i can remember okay i use that as a waypoint just to remember where i was so this is my night night pouch my night night zipper whatever you want to call that that's what i use at night in an urban environment as we move to the main compartment this does open up in a clamshell type feature so we're going to start in the main part of the bag itself so in the main part of the bag i keep one mre i specifically keep a cold weather mre versus a normal mre now cold weather mres the reason i keep those they are more durable in cold weather quite frankly but cold weather mres have more calories than a normal mre so now i can carry one mre i can snack on this for probably two days if i stretch it out correctly these have you know i don't need to bring any heat element these have a built-in heat element so if i want to warm the food up be a little boozy i can do that so i have a cold weather mre if i'm really going to have to get into a fight and it's no longer going to be trying to be gray man or anything like that then it will be time to take this i do have a gerber infantry knife this is their gerber infantry knife this specific nice knife is a fixed blade knife it does have really good thumb protection just in case you need to use it for a fight environment you can also put it back in its sheath and you can use it as a hammer you can use it as a glass breaker you know multiple uses for this knife i would strap this through the belt loop to my pants you know and just get more and more ready as i go from evade to fight to recover i slowly prepare myself to go further and further and further into that mindset of being more prepared to fight just in case i need to as i move through an urban environment i'm gonna want a small way to possibly pry into different things i do have this special ops small little pry bar you know it's about 12 inches in length you know this was probably going to be good enough to pry into a door as long as that door is made of mostly like metal or metal composite or aluminum it might not be able to get into a big wood door maybe use this to bend back edging of a fence you know i would carry small boat cutters in here to cut through a fence and that's something i'm thinking about adding in here but just having something that i can use not only to pry but i can also use this as a weapon so if i need to pull this out use it as a baton fashion i can use that as well so moving on to the other part of the bag inside so at the top here i do have a four-way utility tool so on the outside of buildings you may notice that they always have water spigots but you just can't walk up and turn the knob and get the water going you can use this tool to access water to cut off gas different things as you're going through an environment to try to just have you to have one extra advantage over other people so now yes i have the water filter bottle and i can dip it in the creek and filter 24 ounces of water but hey if i'm walking past the building why not just be able to just get a little bit of water from that i also carry a very minimal leatherman skeleton tool so most likely if i am in my vehicle needing to grab my kit i do have a more extensive uh swiss army knife so this might be just a supplemental tool this is an 11 piece tool so it does have your phillips your flat head it has a plier has a carabiner built in has a knife you know just the very bare basics what i like about this is that it's really lightweight still gets the job done i can still use it for small tasks it's just not the biggest and most bulky uh multi-tool that you can buy and i kind of like that so i have it in this kit you know if and i'm able to use it if i need to so i also have quite a bit of duct tape in his bag and i carry this much duct tape in the bag for several reasons this is enough duct tape to seal off an entire door so to seal off an entire door you need at least 19 feet of duct tape this is more than 19 feet this is uh you know each of these is five yards of duct tape so now if i need to go you know quickly get inside of a door get inside of a building so just in case you need to get inside of a room very quickly you got the duct tape you know so someone throws a smoke bomb or something like that you know it's not gonna keep out the craziest of things i didn't want to put a big bulky gas mask in this thing you know i prefer to just be able to move and evade that's my goal you know sticking with that goal i do have a map of the just the northern part of dallas so i live in the northern part of dallas so i wanted to get the cities that are most close to where i mostly travel if i find myself in a different part of texas then so be it hopefully i'm able to acquire some maps in that specific area but the areas for which i live in i wanted to have those maps readily available i also have a lismatic compass that i can use so i am able to take my newly acquired map you know or whatever map i already have with me and use that to navigate my way just in case i don't have the ability to use electronics it is a high possibility that i'm no longer able to use my electronics whether it be the battery has died or no longer have access to it so i'm gonna i want to be able to go old school with a map so the next thing i want to look at here is i keep an old pair of columbia walking shoes with me at all times this is actually in my bug out bag so if i needed to i would grab these out of my bug out bag add this to my urban kit and i will be able to proceed these look old they look super beat up but first they're very worn in i can walk miles and miles and miles in these shoes and i will be a-okay b they look pretty ordinary you know they look pretty does nothing about these says glamorous and less likely to be messed with for something that i'm wearing in the bag itself you know i do have an extra set of clothing i'm not sure what i may be wearing if i need to use this bag so i have a set of clothing specifically these are columbia um uh omnishield pants so these are really good in multiple types of weather they have lots of different areas where i can attach my multi-tools or subtle devices they also have a very robust belt loops so when it is time to attach my belt loop on that knife they're going to be able to withstand and hold that and compliment it with that is a 511 style shirt the reason i brought the 511 style shirt it's black it looks like kind of like a normal shirt nothing about it is super duper noticeable but it has little flaps in the back which allows for me to kind of get a little bit of ventilation as i'm traveling so it kind of helps keep me a little kind of helps me keep a little bit cool as i'm traveling on my journeys and finally i will have a wool beanie don't know what time of the year will be even if it is a little bit warmer you know sometimes having a beanie is just something that kind of makes it a little bit easier to kind of go a little bit more gray um a little bit blend in a little bit better and this bag would not be complete without some type of ultimate armor that's going to keep me safe just in case someone has their own concealed carry or similar i want to know that i'm going to be i want to know that i'm going to be safe let me zip this up and just kind of show you the final component that makes this bag complete so the very back of the bag has an entire laptop storage area right so you can store a laptop back here and it completely zips down for tsa and all that good stuff so just in case you're traveling to an airport with this thing however in the back of my bag i have level three plus one plate of 10 by 12 armor in the back it's made by spartan usa it's an american company made in the usa so what i like about the the spartan armor systems is that a it's not that heavy i think this thing weighs around 10 pounds you know but now i have protection up to 762 or 308 of protection um from about 25 feet just in case i need it and i can protect the front part of my body so 762 obviously is bigger than the 556 which a lot of people tend to carry around in their weapon platforms and their weapon systems so once this bag is fully put together let me stand up just kind of show you how you would use you know the bag itself with the actual armor plating so now you can see i have the bag actually strapped to my front so now that body armor is protecting all my vital organs you know now you can see that very front pouch i can zip this down i can tuck this in flip down my med kit is being held on by that hero clip i have access to my concealed carry on the right side here maybe put my hand in here grab my concealed carry pull it out if need be i have extra magazines now i'm ready to rock if i need to protect myself and i go from evade to fight i'm ready to fight i have armor i have you know my weapons first hopefully we'll just be able to use you know my fist of steel so i think but just in case i needed to i can go to the boomstick protect myself i also have the ability to reach down quickly unstrap one strap grab my flashlight use my flashlight to illuminate but also use it as a weapon as we talked about earlier i can store that here i have access to those gloves so i can keep this here so this bag is really durable just for those simple use cases of being able to access those different items so that's why i love this bag so much in an urban environment so i mean what do you think man are you going to put together an urban fight kit just be prepared to evade fight and recover right so if you can keep that battle rhythm up practice those things you're going to be able to get yourself out of a sticky situation whether you're trying to get home or you're trying to get yourself out of the city this might even be useful in a rural area don't even just simply use this as an urban fight kit
