hi my name is corey williams from taiyaki studios and today i'm going to show you how you can create an animated short film in unreal engine using all free software and tools that means you don't need to go out and buy a big motion capture suit you don't need fancy gloves or a helmet cam or anything else that you actually have to pay for like i said everything that i'm going to be using today is all completely free you can download it on the internet and i will leave you links down below in the video description where you can actually download them all you're gonna actually need is well a computer with a decent graphics card i'm currently using a rtx 2080 ti which is now it's kind of an older graphics card it is currently tuesday july 19th at 10 a.m and we're gonna get started let's do this all right so the first thing we're going to want to do is create a new unreal engine project and in this case i'm using unreal engine 5.0.3 so when you open it up uh you're going to see this what we're going to do is we're going to go to film video and live events and then we're going to click on virtual production so once we click on that over here on the side i'm just going to take starter content i'm not going to worry about ray tracing because i'm essentially going to be using lumen uh to do all the heavy lifting in this and then make sure you select your file location i like to create a folder that is specifically for unreal engine 5 projects in which case i'm using my free project folder because that's what i'm going to name this and then of course name your project so i'm going to say free project because everything we're doing here is using free stuff so create give that just a moment to create the project and then once this comes up we're going to click on update which essentially saves everything that is happening to make sure that it's all working how it needs to and then after that we're gonna go into plugins um and enable a couple of things which will make this process uh easier for us okay here's the the project just opened up for us it's still gonna compile some things uh we've got some uh preparing construction scripts all that we're gonna go ahead and click on update down here at the bottom right great project is updated okay so now what we're going to do is go to uh editor or edit up here on the top drop it down go to plugins and then from here we're going to enable a couple of things first we're going to say prores and this is going to be how we render and in my case it's already enabled if it's not enabled in your case then uh make sure to enable it and then uh last thing we're going to do uh ik rig oh i just got ik oh it's already selected okay so make sure that your ik rig here um is selected uh because we're essentially going to be editing certain certain things with the body uh for animation and we'll get into that maybe we'll use it maybe we won't but right now i just want to make sure that this is good um and i think everything should be good so go ahead and restart now all right now that's getting restarted give that just a moment and then we should be good to go for the next step now um where am i getting my characters where am i getting my animations how are we going to pull all this off well for those of you who have never heard of this before uh miximo it's it's it's fantastic it's just like a place where you can go i think it's owned by adobe uh you can go to get some free animations that you can drop into your projects uh you can create lots of fun stuff with it and there are characters that you can uh essentially play with and and just kind of like use them to practice with i i wouldn't necessarily say like hey use you know this is your final character you should use forever like no no this is like good practice stuff um for when you are ready to take things to the next level so let's go there now so i'm going to go ahead and open up my browser and i am going to go to miximo so mixamo.com is where we are going to get our stuff now in my situation here um i i wanted to find a really fun character this is the character that i found here his name is the boss um he just kind of looks like a boss okay i get it but you can go up here to characters and you can kind of just scroll through and find a character that works for you um in our situation here we like i want to find a character that has a face because i'm gonna do some stuff with my iphone but in the case that you do not have an iphone and you cannot uh control uh uh the facials with the phone um i would say to find a character like this here this guy this racer uh who who you you can't see his face now it's okay if your character does have a face and it's not being controlled but i mean yeah it just kind of takes away a little bit and there are still ways to uh control the face that i can show you maybe another time but in today's walkthrough we're gonna use this guy because i think this is gonna be really fun to see so here's the boss now what do we want the boss to do well first what we should do is export the boss the way he is in what's called the t pose arms out like this is a t pose arms down is an a pose arms to your side is an n pose or neutral pose so just a you know keep that open uh keep that in your mind and for the future if you ever do this stuff again this is very basic stuff so we're going to go ahead and click on download and then i'm going to take that t pose and i'm going to say it's just a standard fbx binary so i've already downloaded this guy i'm not going to download them so you click download and it downloads to your folder great we got it okay now what we need to do is bring in animations that work with this so go now to the animations tab here let me go ahead and make this full screen so we can see more and all right now we've got all of these different animations that we can apply to this character simply by clicking on it and watching how it works with him now you can see see how his arm clips through his uh his stomach like that we can actually go back and adjust that so that doesn't happen but you know in in this case for for speed and for a little more accuracy let's just find stuff that does work with him initially so i don't really know the environment yet that that i want to choose we're just we're just finding the character so maybe maybe we come back to this part let's actually find an environment to know what this character is going to do in said environment so all right for now let's go ahead and minimize this great okay so uh what we should probably do is uh go back to the unreal engine marketplace and take a look at what free assets we have to use to be able to tell stories with so i'm gonna go ahead and minimize unreal engine and i'm gonna open back up the epic games launcher and then i'm gonna go to my library actually i'll just go to marketplace instead of my library because it's to be fair let's just use free free stuff and then uh i'll go ahead and expand this out and then we're gonna go ahead and go to free and then we'll say free for the month what do we have this month every uh the first thursday of every month uh epic gives out free marketplace assets and sometimes they are amazing assets and in this case look at this we've got a wild west city this looks kind of cool wow yeah you know what i've i've already like accepted it uh but i haven't actually seen this yet so wow look at this okay we're gonna have a great time with the boss on this level so let's go ahead and bring this in so uh oh looks like this one it does and it does support unreal engine 5. very important to check that anytime you're bringing something in um but yeah let's let's go ahead and bring this one and so it looks like it says free here so i'm guessing we're going to have to create a new project with it is that going to be the case i do believe so oh or i haven't actually accepted it yet that's hilarious okay so yes i'm gonna go ahead and place the order for that for free thank you epic that's so cool and then there we go wow i can't believe i haven't accepted these yet okay so now what i'm going to do is i'm going to click on add to project and um again if if you're watching this another time and say this is not free to you to use then you can always go to free up here and then go down to um permanently free collection and and just find something that that might work for you it's all kind of the same unreal engine has lots and lots of of really cool free assets so we're using this for now so i'm going to go ahead and click add to project and then i'm going to find my actual project the free project where did it go did i pass it yes i did right here and then add to project and then once that is all added looks like it's 3.1 gigabytes then it's just going to be in there we're going to open it up we're going to do our thing okay so let's just go ahead and let that let that continue downloading and we'll come back to that so let's go back to mixamo take a look at the stuff that we have okay so mixamo here's our miximo yeah obviously this isn't going to work for us so let's find uh what do we do in our things we walk right so let's find a walking animation so walk or walking because we want him to walk there was one animation with this character that i found earlier uh in here while just kind of scrolling around that i i liked a lot and it's this one mutant walking like obviously it shows a mutant character walking but let's see what it looks like on this guy yes the dude means business i love this animation like he looks that it's like he is a stylized character and the way that he start uh walking is is it's like a it just fits so rather than have him actually walking like this where he's walking uh and moving we're actually gonna call it walking in place so i'm gonna click on in place there now the reason i am selecting this in place is because i'm going to be using uh his actual uh skeletal position his root position uh to determine how long he's walking and all of that and this will make more sense later as we do this so we're going to go ahead and now download just this walk because i love this walk so what we're going to do is go to download simple and then this time instead of saying with skin we are going to download without skin the reason for that is because we've already downloaded this character in his t-pose and that is what we're going to be using for well the actual physical character all this is that we're downloading now is simply the animation so to save time and hard drive space we're going to download it like this frames per second um you know what i'm just going to download 24. we're doing it at 24 fps that's how i'm going to export it and to me it's it's about speed so yeah let's keep it low frame and then just go ahead and click download this is the only animation i have already downloaded so i don't necessarily have to do this so let's keep uh going through after you've downloaded that just hold on to that file and we'll get there so now we we know he's walking maybe we get some some uh some looks right maybe he stops and he like looks around maybe his hands are on his hips or something so let's have a look i i have not looked at all so let's go to um looking okay looks like we got a little bit of a lost travolta look going on here oh no he's got guns in his hands we don't want him with guns because it's this isn't what we got so let's say look behind no he's not scared of anything let's have him um how about just basically looking now you can see it's kind of cutting through his head there cutting through his arm that means we'll have to do a little bit of uh animation offsets no big deal no big deal but let's keep looking there might be some actual uh other stuff wait actually let's mutant let's search mutant because if the mutant walk worked well with this guy then what other kind of mutant animations can we get let's let's check that oh yes look at this look at all of these okay so mutant idol this guy okay maybe that's a bit much uh you know uh let's see what else we got here mutant punch and mutant attack mutant run um okay i don't think he's gonna be running i think he's i think he's he's kind of the boss okay let's not let's let's not use the mutant okay let's go back idle let's see what kind of idols if we can kind of like just keep his arms out a little bit that'd be great okay that looks so that looks okay let's uh let's see what else we got leaning back okay let's try um this one did we already try this one it's kind of a pretty generic one that one i think let's see happy hanging ooh hanging that'd be kind of funny if like he's like for at some point he just falls off a warrior maybe he's just real tough oh that's totally the way he would stand i mean kind of he looks like he's standing like like on a hill a little bit but hey i i think that's probably okay maybe let's keep looking there are literally 11 pages of idols that we could uh scroll through so let's keep looking at stuff let's do a dwarf idol oh i just i just remembered something too actually let's go back to uh one of the standard idols right up here it says arm space so let's go ahead and bring that out just drag it over there we go there we go character arm space that helps a little bit but still he looks a little uncomfortable that's that's not a very comfortable standing position so what about neutral idle i don't like this like standing back bit okay so let's do do do injured nope old man idol nope he's not old man mutant idol we already know that we don't necessarily need that what about dwarf idol actually look at that that's what we want that's his idol okay did i already choose that one i don't know but we're gonna take that one so i'm gonna go ahead and download this and then without skin and then download boom it's gonna be in my downloads folder okay so we have that now let's say there's a um like what else is gonna happen i don't know let's let's see where we're at in terms of the unreal engine download real quick uh looks like we are i think it's downloaded sweet okay now so okay let's take a look at it so here we go wild west we're gonna go ahead and double click on this folder actually before we double click on this folder let's go ahead and bring in that character now before we forget so uh first thing i like to do is create a character folder so right clicking on the open space here and then we're going to go to a new folder and then characters okay and then double click on that and then i'm going to say boss now the reason i'm creating new characters is just in case later on i decide to bring in somebody else i want to be able to like see exactly where they're at and then double clicking on that now we're going to go ahead and bring in our boss so here's we're going to do we're gonna go to import right here or you can just right click in this space um and then go to uh import and then we're gonna go ahead and go to our downloads folder and then we're gonna find our boss and there's our boss right there so download and then make sure there's no skeleton we want this all to completely blank and i'm going to just kind of scroll down so you can see what settings i have once we have all of that then just hit import all give it just a moment it might throw us a couple of errors there they are no big deal i don't really care um in this situation and so i'm gonna x that out and then i'm gonna open up this content drawer again and then there's all of his textures and these are all of his materials which contain the textures and then here is his skeletal mesh his physics asset and his base skeleton that's what we want um usually i like to clean up all of this stuff a little bit in fact i'm going to right click create a new folder we're going to call this materials and then we're just going to select all of the materials and the textures and just drag it into that folder just so we don't have to look at it for my sanity next i i noticed that he was smoking a cigar i don't really know if i want to deal with the cigar because if we're going to be using a meta-human face which we are um i don't i don't want to have to put that cigar in his mouth and control that it just seems like it would be maybe more work than i want to deal with so okay what we're going to do now is we're going to double click on the boss's skeletal mesh and we are going to hide this cigar assuming that the cigar has its own material which right over here it says it does so to to hide this instead of like making this an invisible material what we're going to do is we're going to go down here to sections under lod 0 sections drop it down and then we're going to find cigar let me make this the bigger so we can see it better there we go so i'm going to go down see it says clothes clothes close cigar here it is right so we can highlight it if we want to just to show that that's the only thing affected and yes it is so what we're going to do now is right-click and disable hey we got rid of the cigar good go ahead and close it out from here don't close it over here you'll close the whole project so close that out and for now i'm going to go ahead and save everything we have just to be safe just you know once that's done now let's go ahead and bring in the animations now i'm not going to bring in the animations into the folder where the boss is right now because i it just seems very messy to me so actually what i'm going to do is go back to the top of the content folder so click on content or you can click on it over here and right click and we're going to create an animations folder so animations open that folder up create a new folder and what are we going to call it boss because that's the character's animation that we're going to be dealing with so now from here we're going to go ahead now and import the animations that we have so instead of right-clicking i'm just going to click on this one over here again doesn't matter but i just want to show you the ways you can do this so we're going to do is select the two that we have now so idle dwarf and mutant walking and i'm going to go ahead and hit open okay so very important here we need to select the right skeleton so right up here you're gonna see uh skeleton let's go to boss and there he is select that and then exported time that is fine you can drop this down you can take a look at my settings um right here for custom frame rate we are going to import uh 24 because that's how we were exporting the frames we were doing it at 24 fps so hit 24 there and everything else looks good just to show you okay cool and import all and there we go just like that we now have the animations brought in let's double check to see if they work and there we go just as they should and the beauty of mixamo is that these animations loop so you know as you can see uh this little uh this little thing's going across here it's just it's just looping it's it's doing a great job okay cool so now go ahead and save now that we've got all that saved awesome and let's take a look at our new environment i haven't seen this yet i'm actually really excited so go to maps and then it looks like showcase is uh so there's there's two ways here showcase is basically like the um it's it's it's like you're you're going into like uh an ikea and it shows you like okay here's all the furniture laid out and then there will always be like another demo scene in this case i would guess it's wild west so showcase just kind of shows the individual features of things that you can use and wild west in this case would be the project demo so let's go ahead and click on that one double click now chances are we're gonna have to compile a few shaders hopefully not too many shaders but we'll see how this goes okay loading if this uh has like a billion shaders to compile uh that's not too bad 1231 shaders uh what we can probably do is go back to um miximo and just kind of like surf some more animations and see what else we can do we know for sure that there is a hot air balloon right there has to be ground somewhere so what if um let's let's think about like what might happen maybe there's this hot air balloon that um it's just it's just flying around and maybe he's like super annoyed by it maybe there's a guy at the top who's like hey hey hey and he like looks up and and the guy just like is annoying or something or maybe the guy throws stuff down i don't know let's keep it simple i wish i could open this project up already but let's let's uh let's go ahead and go back to maximo so assuming he's on the ground and there's this thing flying around you know it's it's it's it's it's like it's doing a thing so let's let's say look up look up i don't have a story usually the best way to to actually create short films like this is to have a story before you start making a tutorial on how to make short films so um yeah i'd hope for you in the future you just do that first create a radio play if you've never heard of a radio play yeah didn't i didn't think about it alright so here we go what's the standing torch obviously he's got something in his hand what do you think you might be holding in his hand i don't know but we could technically open up those fingers if we wanted to but i think we ought to keep looking for other stuff so looking over the shoulder idle victory head butt jab see that we don't want him fighting this isn't a fighting scene this is just some guy who is like looking around let's see big hit to head let's let's say surprised surprised oh reacting let's see reacting huh open up those arms a little bit huh yeah okay so let's just say there's this noise that suddenly comes up that surprises them he's like huh whatever so we'll take that that's fine again without scan 24 fps this is great okay so if he's walking along he's having a good day just kind of looking out of the environment all the all of a sudden you're and he goes huh and then up on the ship maybe there's a guy that's on the ship and he's got like loud music playing and maybe maybe this character here is upset like ah who's making all that racket maybe that's what it is so let's see uh hands on hips hands on hips will this do this will he will he put his hands on his hips huh i don't necessarily want this one let's just put angry angry angry gesture okay that's not so he's not like super angry angry point gesture what is this one here well this is like 15 things that's just like a big one okay no let's see uh shake fist oh here we go shake fist okay let's spread those arms out a little bit i like this this this feels good okay shake fist he gets really upset and then yeah we'll download that one 24 fps without skin okay old man shakes fists are you darn kids and you're flying contraptions and then let's just say like ground stomp ground stomp yeah so like he's he's really angry so like we'll have a ground stomp and then it goes and he looks back up okay let's see how this one looks so ground stomp and then look up again look up did i already do look up i probably did okay yeah i think i did do look up okay so we'll see we can always come back to it later on let's just say up what if we just do up yeah no okay so we've got this guy and he's angry stomping mad i'm not mad instead of angry male dance pose we don't have him neces he's not he's not dancing maybe he throws something at it no we're not gonna throw stuff okay that's fine that's fine idle let's go ahead and check on our shaders so in the meantime look at that okay so i don't really care about these errors this is fine now is the fun part we get to surf around this beautiful world i'm gonna hit g to get rid of everything this is called game mode wow is this is incredible guys i love this look at this world we get to tell stories in right now okay so yeah there can definitely be somebody inside here and then he's like driving it like maybe his thing has got like speakers and it's like boom boom boom boom boom you know and this old guy's just like trying to enjoy himself maybe he's got a little space somewhere quiet up here see where where could the old guy be walking this is a really cool place you know we could we could have some like random walking across bridges and all sorts of stuff let's see how this this old guy looks in the scene i think that might be a wise thing to do so we're going to go ahead and characters and we'll go to the boss and then oops i'll just go ahead and drag the boss in here this color is wild by the way like i'm not sure i'm a huge fan of this hardcore red that is happening uh but we can always go back and change that in which case we will when the time comes so yes uh he's not quite from the same time uh era of whatever this is but you know at the same time it's not like the wild west looked like this you know it's it's not like it's it's yeah this is just very different so i think this story can be whatever we want it to be in fact we might even change the sun angle and all of that sort of stuff maybe he walks across this bridge okay okay yeah this is fine this is enough looking around for me let's take a look at this real quick though this is just a just a little background area okay fine okay so let's uh let's let's bring in um the guy that's gonna be in one of the hot air balloons is that what you call these um i guess uh let's find a guy that actually can be in there and he's like playing music in fact let's go ahead and use that guy with with the helmet maybe he's like a dj guy so let's let's grab that guy that's less work and less work is good uh so we'll go ahead and grab him where is he at he is right i just i just clicked on him didn't i where is he at he's got his racer i think his name is racer so r there he is r cool and then use this character cool and then we'll go ahead and bring this guy in and we'll actually just put him in a t-pose so here i'm going to go t-pose oh animations t-pose there put them back in a t-pose so i don't have to deal with that moving okay so once using that t-pose uh same thing i'm just gonna go ahead and download and this time again because he is the base character for this animation i'm going to say with skin and then 24 fps so go ahead and download that guy boom almost boom almost not quite we'll get there all right so once he is downloaded let's let's find some um some dancing maybe he's he's doing a dj thing okay so let's go um dj defeat no okay let's just say dance dancing if we can if we can get him just like a real simple groove like this that'd be great okay we've got lots and lots of moving here we got three pages worth of moves all of which are fun but we if he's going to be like driving it then we just want to have him moving maybe this is a simple one look this isn't it's just called hip hop dancing but yeah whatever i think that's okay let's take the um arm space down a little bit maybe even more there we go so now it's gonna look like he's he's still driving the thing he's just kind of like grooving you know oh yeah that's cool okay so let's go ahead and take this guy so download again now without skin because we're just taking the animation and download okay and then i think maybe that's that's all he does i mean maybe maybe he's yeah that's that's his whole thing maybe oh let's take this silly dancing actually yeah whatever this will be the last one we do okay silly dancing download that because you always need silly dancing great okay now that we've got silly dancing uh let's go ahead now and go back to our boss character and grab some um some more animations from him so let's think about really quick like what's what's he gonna do like well he's not gonna start dancing maybe he gets upset or maybe he gets he just kind of like gives up a little bit look around maybe he looks around and other people start coming out dancing okay i like that good idea guys so let's go ahead and raise out that arm space okay a little bit more because i can see his right arm is clipping into his thing there that's great that looks good okay so uh dancing is happening he's really upset all of a sudden he notices other people are coming out and dancing as well which is totally annoying to this guy i like this okay so let's go ahead and download that that means we're actually bringing in some more people that's fine i don't mind that and then let's go ahead and be like crying but why would he be crying no uh um give up let's see if he gives up he just goes ah let's see um frustrated no no no how would you do it like if so we have to think about this like because there's so many animations we can use right here like we just have to think about it he's like ah forget it like hands let's see what hands does okay let's see got lots of fun stuff push we don't want any poses maybe fall over maybe just defeat okay let's try defeat so let's go ahead and take the arm space out maybe we uh keep an eye on this space here 67 it can come in a little bit i think so let's do like 64. that looks pretty good yeah that looks good okay so that's that's going to be our very very short story i mean uh it is currently now 10 59 so i've been at this now for about an hour and that's just uh you know the the beginning of it and the rest of it is super fun so now that we have that let's go ahead and start uh well first let's make sure we get those animations brought in and to the right places before this guy forgets so i'm going to go back to my content folder and i'm going to go ahead and let's go to characters bring in our new guy so we will just call it as it's called and we'll say eraser and then double click on that same thing import our racer character which is right here i know it's called t pose 3 that's fine and then we do not want to uh bring in a skeleton because he comes with a skeleton we're not going to import animations because this one we don't need it it's just a t pose but still it's going to come in as an a pose that's fine all right so now he's coming in and then wait make sure everything's good i see a mixing bind pose yeah that's fine that's fine it'll all come in okay so t-pose just for the sake of naming two notice it came in as t-pose three whatever let's just call him sk underscore uh racer now sk underscore good naming convention for skeletal mesh very important you stick to good naming conventions when doing anything in unreal engine or any uh game software for that matter so um and then this one for the physics asset same thing racer we don't technically have to do this but it's a good thing to do and you'll see why in a minute so and then here uh skeleton same thing we'll just say racer hopefully you won't have to do this but in the case that you do have to do this absolutely do this great and i'm okay with the body let's change the color of the suit actually we'll come back and we'll change that later on once we kind of like know everything save awesome now we're going to bring in the animation for racer i think there were two animations we're going to make sure to bring those those both into the right spot so that we're not applying the wrong animations so okay go back to our content folder now we're gonna go into the animations folder create a new folder called racer and then double click on racer and import and it was hip-hop dancing and silly dancing because that's the order in which we did it so here see it says racer skeleton much easier to see than t-pose whatever it was and then we'll just leave the rest the same oh sample rate 24 don't forget that makes it a lot easier and a lot faster to import animations if you actually put the um the sample rate otherwise you it might take you a long time to import animations so great save that cool got that okay now we're going to go back to animations and import the boss's animations the last animations that we found of him uh reacting essentially so here and then so they're silly dancing look around and defeat so he looks around he sees the other people coming in whatever and defeats so making sure skeleton is proper yes it's gonna be on boss and then everything else looks good it's already set to 24. great import bang look at that pretty pretty pretty look at this so far all free animation we didn't have to do anything it's all here this is cool stuff but the fact that we can do this right now is so so fun all right cool um now that we've got that let's go ahead and bring in our uh other characters who essentially come out of the woodwork so uh you know again backing up a little bit the story is uh there's an old guy maybe he just walked out of his house uh somewhere we'll find a place and he's like ah what a nice day and then all of a sudden here comes this flying ship with this guy going boom you know like and it's just like throwing too much it's like hey what's going on oh he's like he's super angry and then all of a sudden like other other people are coming out of their houses or whatever and they're dancing along and he's just like what and he's turning and he's seeing these people then he just goes nah you know and then maybe the the character's like yeah like it's just that's what it is again just we're doing this quick we're doing this short and this will give you an idea and i'm just hoping this opens up your mind uh to new possibilities because there's a lot it's like it's like animation legos that's what this is man all right it's more fun than video games in my opinion and i love video games all right so where are we at where are we at brain got lost a little bit um yes so back to miximo let's go back to characters and let's find some fun characters to come out and and and dance with us so uh just clear this out so i can actually see the characters what kind of people here's peasant girl let's see what peasant girl looks like yeah yeah no she she would totally come out she looks like him and and and would dance like him so let's take peasant girl so we're gonna download peasant girl uh without skin uh 24 that's fine actually let's do a t-pose just this is to save space is all it is let's see cool and t-pose we got t-post t-pose t-pose there it is right there all right cool all right so go ahead and download this girl she'll work for what we need uh with skin because she is a bass bass character good and then um let's go ahead and grab a dance for her so let's just do a dance yeah let's just try the the booty hip hop dance oh this is yep this is her uh-huh make sure the arms are going out far enough not quite on some spaces but you know what because she's just sort of a filler character i don't really care that much it's not a big deal like we might not even show her that closely so yep go ahead and download that one there and go without skin because this is just her dance awesome and then let's go ahead and get another character because why not because we can let's see who else would kind of fit in with uh this this guy's world like just a stylized looking character like the peasant peasants yeah peasant man okay he doesn't have the same dance let's just let's just make that clear and see t t-pose okay and then yep download with skin because he is going to be a bass we'll say three we'll have three that's all we're gonna have is this three characters and then yep we got him now let's go find a dance so what dance does he do he does maybe he's like a yeah that's fine yep okay this has got a warcraft vive to it or a vibe to it like how many of you guys did do you ever play warcraft like this just feels like a warcraft dance and then download yes silly all right cool and then one more character so let's see what we can find for characters what have we got we don't need a grandma there's a there's a there's a that guy let's look at this guy he looks interesting but he looks out of place like we got to kind of stay somewhat in the in the realm of things i mean the racer's not exactly in the right realm but hey whatever uh okay maybe this guy here's a castle guard oh wait no we're not it's not castle scene what am i thinking that's okay let's keep looking i'm sure there's something else oh this guy let's let's just use this guy and maybe not but he looks funny enough or d's who's this guy who is this guy no no no no we gotta we gotta we gotta somewhat stay to the the thing here okay so let's just yeah let's find one more guy that kind of works she this this girl might no she looks too like warrior-ish maybe i just use him just because it's silly i don't know i mean these three already kind of seem like they're together but see sometimes like what takes the longest is just trying to figure out this stuff because it's so much fun to look around and i'm sure there's some of you that like saw something you're like yeah use that one use that's the best one and then and then you know i also feel like some of you would say to use this guy oh wait brute oh he's got a sword i could always take that sword away or what about this guy oh he's a zombie cop zombie that would be confusing no i will use this guy it kind of looks like a danny trejo type whatever it's not like super but he's not like stylized looking either well we're also putting like a meta human face you know what's good i'm just gonna go ahead and do do the this guy right here because he's kind of fun i like this guy yeah who is this guy all right i'll just do this guy whatever t-pose okay download with scan okay cool downloading okay there we go and let's grab his animation so his dance does he do the thriller or is it like oh this is just a male dance pose oh these are poses hang on there is this one there's a lot of really good put dance stuff on here i actually used a couple of these for one of my uh mr yaki episodes where he-man and mr yaki were dancing yeah i can't dance like this i can dance kind of but not not quite like this yeah i think this is good enough for this guy okay so arms look good and i'm gonna go ahead and download now so uh without skin because we don't need that skin and download cool um something else i just thought of too is that uh the people i feel like they should be still around and still like kind of working on stuff so maybe we need to go back and and look for that but for now let's go ahead and import what we have so we don't get anything um mixed up so we've got uh uh characters new characters here let's go import and we'll say uh wrestler double click that import our wrestler very quickly which is this one yep no no animation on this one and then make sure to rename it so yeah okay and then because he's not tpo 6 he's sk underscore wrestling and you know i'm just not going to deal with the the physics asset renaming because for for the sake of time let's just do this one see but you really should you really should just always do that but again for the sake of time i'm not going to right now he's going to be the only one that's like really out of place i can always like dirty up his shirt and make him not like purple i can make it like brown or something just to fit the environment a little bit better okay another character we're gonna do um uh well we called it peasant woman so um we'll just call one um man wait um yeah man that's fine well the peasant man peasant underscore man that's fine cool uh import this guy and he was this one here right is that the order we went and then make sure not animation cool sweet and rema rename peasant man yes that's right sk peasant man and then skeleton same thing peasant man good and then of course let's get our female in create a new folder and then peasant woman doesn't say female but because i didn't put male that's fine import and she was here yeah she does the booty dance the booty dance cool and let's change that name sk underscore peasant woman and then right here cool that's fine and now we just go ahead and import those animations which should be pretty quick okay go back to our animations folder create the new folders here so wrestler go ahead and create another one uh peasant woman and then peasant man okay cool let's go and bring up bring in the peasant man's dance which was this one and then peasant man there he is and then yes importing that animation so good to go import all there he is let's go to peasant woman import her animation she does the booty dance and then select woman there she is import see how much faster it's going now and now we're going to go to doing the same spot here and then we're going to go to wrestler import and then he's the last one here and then wrestler which is at the bottom there he is sweet now we have all of that stuff in okay we've got it i think we've got for the most part all the animations we need and if we need anything else we can always come back and re-add them in so i just saved the project uh we've got miximo still open in the background and um yeah here we go guys so let's go ahead now and set our scene where do we want all of this to happen where is a good spot oh this right here see the see the problems that are happening with this this little segment this is a problem i believe with nanite uh it's kind of an unreal engine glitch at the moment so like the lods as they're coming in it's like the uh the lods aren't reading the stuff properly it's kind of i don't know i've seen it i've seen it if you restart the uh the engine it'll it'll work just fine uh so let's go ahead now and figure out our thing so okay here's what we're gonna do now we're gonna create a uh we've already got a movies folder here uh i'm gonna go ahead and uh click on our movies folder and then i'm going to right click and i'm gonna go to animation and i'm going to start a level sequence and then i'm going to say um uh free or dance whatever we're going to call it so free movie i guess i don't know underscore 0 1 in case we want to copy it so go ahead and double click on that now what we're going to do is we're going to drag in all of the characters that we're going to be using for this episode so i'm going to drag he's already in there let's go ahead and drag in our other characters from this side so i'll say i want peasant man we're gonna drag in the skeletal mesh and then we're gonna drag in uh peasant woman and put her [Music] right there that's fine and then we're gonna drag in our wrestler and say right there you know he might actually fit in uh once we get this stuff all done yeah it's gonna be it's gonna be pretty silly all right cool and then let's go ahead and drag in our racer so racer oh not physics asset we're dragging the sk racer here's our racer here great now that we have all of those characters dragged in now we are going to basically call them in our uh sequencer so when you open up the level sequence you are going to see a sequencer here so what i'm going to do is select all of the characters i'm hitting i'm holding down shift and clicking on all of them and then i'm going to go to track add to sequencer and then just select this and there they are all the characters are in our scene and that is what we want so uh now what we're going to do is we're going to basically well it's hit save on this because making sure everything's in there and save on the whole project i kind of like to save a little bit more often than usual uh and now what we're going to do is set our camera angles so what i'm going to do first is uh just go up to the top here and i'm going to click on this little camera icon to create a new camera on the scene great and then i'm going to call this camera actually i'm just going to click once and i'm going to call it establishing so this is the establishing shot that basically shows here is where we're at here's where the story takes place so that when we're showing certain things in the scene the viewer has an idea of of where things are in the world so that they're not just being surprised by each shot another thing that i like to do that's really fun is increase the sensor size to something ridiculous so what we're going to do is we're going to drop down this little thing down here and we're going to click on camera component and then on the side for film back we're actually going to select custom and then drop down the uh the film back setting there and then all i'm gonna do here um usually i have this stuff written down but it's not in front of me i'm just gonna like double the sensor width that it is now so let's just do let's just do that so let's just say the double sensor with oops is my phone dying what's going on i actually need my phone to not die right now because we're going to be using it for something oh my phone is having lots of fun issues there we go it's working again never mind try to get into my wallet what are you doing who's hacking me you hacking me all right here we go so uh we have a value of the width of 23.76 so 23.76 times 2 equals 47.52 so 47.52 i'll explain why i'm doing this in a minute and then 13.365 times 2 equals 26.73 26.73 okay so why am i doing this i'm doing this because i want to be able to have a little bit more depth i want to be able to get up close on people and i want to be able to run a really long lens at just about any given time and long lenses mean a nice flat smooth looking shot it's kind of hard to explain but to me personally it's a little more cinematic also i'm going to change the fps now to 24fps because that's what we're saying we're going to do with this project anyhow and that is of course in the sequencer should we grab some water okay so now that we've got all of that we're going to go ahead and move our camera so making sure that it is being piloted you can you can tell the camera is being piloted or it's movable right now by the fact that it's a little white thing here or at the top it'll say pilot active and then i'm just going to hold down the right mouse and just kind of move it around also i'm gonna change the uh the focal length of this to 80 for now and then just find a find a good spot where is this all going to take place maybe i will expand it a bit and i'm going to slow this down a little bit so i'm going to go camera speed take it down to like two so where is this old guy gonna be i think this is a cool spot right here let's go ahead and hide this guy right here or technically i could just delete it but you know wait let's play this really quick can we simulate and see if anything moves yes so i'm just i hit simulate and it looks like that one over there is moving and so is that one so there's a couple of these things that are moving already but this one is not moving all right so i'm going to go ahead and stop simulation there's two different ways to do this by the way uh you've maybe seen i didn't tell you where i clicked but up here at the top uh you can hit these three little things here uh selected viewport basically it will start the scene and things will start to be animated um that just animate in the background but it's like a well let me let me show you the difference if i click this usually there's like a play thing but yeah sorry i'm this is a horrible explanation of things just try things out in my case i always use simulate so in this case it's the same thing sometimes what happens is when you hit um viewport sometimes you'll see like little controls on the screen or sometimes you'll actually be walking around as the ue5 mannequin and in that case i'm like i don't that's not what i want so okay let's go ahead and get rid of this thing here um or or we could technically use it so let's yeah no let's let's move this out of the way for now so we're gonna move it over here i like all of this stuff up here but we're going to use this cool that's out of the way oh wait is that a blueprint is this ship a blueprint i don't believe it's a blueprint this is probably a blueprint yeah bp airship okay no no we're just gonna get rid of all of this for now so i'm gonna click on that and just delete all of the airship stuff looks like there's some lights left in there too grab those lights okay let's take a look at these bp airships so these airships that you saw floating around up here bp uh means blueprint so we're gonna go here and then wild west and then we're gonna go to blueprint and then here's the airship i'm gonna double click on this and we're gonna take a look at what we got going on with this so this basically is telling me that the airship in this blueprint is is going along a spine so on event beginplay meaning like when the editor starts to simulate or play um it goes here it says from start we are going to begin and update the value of where the ship is the location in the world and so it updates all the way to world transform right so that's all it's doing saying okay i want you to follow this specific spine that is those laid out so what we're going to do actually is uh get rid of it propeller movement we'd like this we're going to continue this basically that's this can this this makes the propeller move at all times so we'll keep that blueprint that's fine i'm just going to delete all of this because we don't need any of this well i don't really care for the ships to be floating around all over space so delete and then i'm going to go ahead and compile and save cool and nothing else really needs to be messed with here's the spine or the spline we're not going to be using the spline in this case so again just going to delete it i don't really care and we will keep these ship sounds doesn't really matter because we're going to apply our own stuff propeller yes we need and then niagara are the uh basically the the smoke plumes that are coming out the backs here so that's the niagara effect so if we simulate we're going to see that this prop is going to be spinning oh or not well technically it will be spinning but yeah here it tells me that it'll be spinning okay so let's check this now i'm going to go ahead and close this airship and then if i simulate in theory this should stay exactly where it's at this prop will be spinning and this will be continuing to put out stuff so let's simulate just as i expected just as i expected so all we're going to do now is get rid of those so we don't want these other airships floating around we don't we don't really need them so i'm going gonna go ahead and just select uh three of them which there looks like there's four on the scene and just hit delete which means this airship here is gonna be our friend so i'm gonna call back down in the sequencer uh call this into the scene by saying track and then add selected which is bp airship call yeah okay yeah cool that's a long weird way of saying cool all right cool uh so i'm gonna go ahead and rotate this thing around to 90 degrees and we'll just park it there for now so we have our airship i'm going to put this camera in the sequencer just above the airship i like to have everything else kind of like in its own place um and also in the airship we're gonna go ahead and put our uh eraser yeah that's gonna be good okay so let's go ahead oh and also in this airship i wonder if i can change the uh move this thing here the wheel let's check something because i think it would be nice to to be able to move that wheel or just to get rid of the wheel so let's go ahead and go to airship body i'm going to open up static mesh i'm going to take a look at the parts that we've got here all right let's get back down to the bottom here we are great and then let's go ahead and check over here wood metal okay so technically uh essentially what i what i could do here is i could um try to mask it out but i think it's probably not worth my time to do something else i want to show you guys this may not work in this case but we're going to take a look at this this static mesh here sm that's what that means static mesh sk is skeletal mesh stack means there's no there are no bones included with this this model uh we're gonna we're gonna try to enable nanite and see if this works if this works it'll give us much better light but it doesn't always work so let's go ahead and click on nanite support and apply if it does not work it's gonna all turn black it'll be ugly but if it doesn't all turn black it's gonna be pretty it's gonna be really pretty all right let's see what happens oh it's all black oh but look at the wood on the outside but we don't we don't want that yeah see it it took care of a lot of stuff but yeah nope so to fix this to bring it back of course all we're going to do is disable that and apply changes there's probably a better way to go about enabling all that but i don't have that answer for you now and i probably could have it but i just choose not to all right so now we're going to do is let's go ahead and grab our eraser and put him into the driver's seat so what i'm going to do is i'm going to go into the sequencer here and i'm going to find our eraser and here's uh here's our eraser we are going to click track and then we're going to say attach and then we're going to attach him to the airship basically what that means is whenever i move the airship he's going to move too so we're going to actually take this right here this little bar and i'm going to extend it past the beginning of the editor here and then i'm actually going to hold down control scroll down to zoom out of the uh the timeline here bring this timeline end further back just for now and then i'm just going to drag this this is just to say like he always no matter what will follow that airship say that the timeline marker goes like this and then all of a sudden it passes that then it lets go so look up here as i'm doing it so you see do you see what's happening up there in the uh the outliner as soon as i get out of this little box that we're scrolling he lets go so right now he is a child of this and as soon as i let it go he's emancipated you get it all right cool i'm gonna go back to the beginning of the editor okay so now what i'm gonna do now that the uh the guy is attached to this balloon or that contraption whatever you want to call it and let's bring that racer where did he go he was here wasn't he oh he's like invisible or it's because we attached him and he is just somewhere else okay let's we can go right here so click on eraser and we can hit f to find him there he is and then what we can actually do is uh we can actually put him to uh we can actually zero him out so world settings okay so no when number one says the details so we're gonna go to a skeletal mesh component and then location and just zeroed out so we're gonna hit this little value well so now he's kind of in the middle of the ship and then what we're gonna do is just basically take those little arrows and drag him down and we'll put him in a position that we like and let's let's cheat him a little bit so we can see him a little better there i'm going to hit e to change the uh from position to rotation cool and then w again to change position bring him up a little bit cool and that is where we are going to have him maybe we could have him a little bit closer yeah i actually don't think it matters cool all right so that's good i'm gonna go ahead and save now so let's double check this if i move this whole airship he moves with it too great um for now let's go ahead and give him animation so why not so right now i'm gonna go ahead and make sure that uh this character our eraser is selected we're gonna go to animation here click on the plus and then assign the animation so now you can see that it applied it and it's it's going to play through so like if i play here he's going to start moving but then it stops if this stops it means nothing else is happening if i continue to drag off then what this is going to do is loop so you see these little tiny lines that are here those are the it basically goes back to zero again so rather than silly dancing let's actually select a different one so i'm gonna go right click you can go to properties and then you can collect click on the other one here so now it's the other one now let's see how that looks yep so he's just cruising along but you know what i kind of like that silly dancing that seemed to work really well so i'm just hitting ctrl z to undo so yeah i'm gonna zoom out and just use this and later on if i want to use the other one i can this guy this is how he drives his his thing so let's actually bring him back a little bit wait hang on a second pause bring him back there yeah you know what we should do is we should find some speakers some like free speaker assets somewhere let's bring him a little forward even more there we go our low back sorry see how it's snapping by the way so it's like we're going to disable snapping by going up here and click on that this snaps the position this snaps the rotation and that snaps the scale so by disabling that now i can smoothly move it back and that feels a little better and then i can go back to snapping that's fine so the camera light here yeah that'll work okay let's go back up to our people go to the front of the scene the cool thing is is he's always going to do that now i don't have to touch him anymore i don't have to uh a mess with his animation so okay maybe the the guy comes out can i is there anything else in here nope just a rocky place okay so maybe the guy first maybe he walks across here no where's a good place for him to walk this is difficult because if we have him walk here then that means that like his rotation is going to be a little bit wonky so maybe we don't have him walking on the bridge at all maybe we just have him walking on a surface like this so let's have him walk in like this from here okay let's set up a really quick camera angle i kind of like this angle i mean it's interesting hmm this is a tough one what is a good angle of this city sometimes in these uh environments there will always already be cameras set up like here we can see what kind of like shots ooh that's a nice shot this is a quick way to like just cheat some neat neat shots okay okay so yeah that that's kind of a neat shot right there so we can just like basically like come in oh and we've got to get some um some other stuff so uh what i can do here is i technically could just call this camera in to this which i will let's do that so now this camera is being tracked so i can pilot it but i'll leave it as it is but if our guy is there then like where is he going to come in it's a really cool shot tough this is where your filmmaker brain has to be very creative all right so maybe our guy walks across in front of us here and then after he walks in front of us here we cheat the shot and then he comes across on this side and maybe he stops in front of this area that could be cool and then where would where would the other thing be coming from maybe he's even up here he stops there and he kind of looks out and he sees that thing what's all that bracket okay it is 11 39. so here this right here this is technically the hardest part of everything which it's not hard it's just like time consuming because creatively you want to have something basic set but you know what let's just keep this angle right here as much as i love this other angle wait oh that's right okay we'll just keep it there work on this focal length a little bit i can make it a little wider if we wanted to it's not the most attractive shot in the whole world but right now again it's about just just getting something getting getting something set hmm this is tough so he walks right here right here this looks good i kind of like having this light at their backs because like from this position if i get out of here and i look at it like this they look alright this they don't look so good like look how these eyes look like they're bleeding of course that's just the character we're getting getting rid of that face anyway if we had him walking across this bridge we could have him that's an interesting idea if we have him walking from here like maybe no okay i think at this point here it is uh it's coming up on my lunch time it's 11 41 so i'm gonna go ahead and pause this and i'll be right back in just a bit i need water and i will have this thought of so also we're going to restart the engine because of this other little issue up here so before we do this making sure that i save all awesome and then i i'm gonna go ahead and stop this and this and i'll be right back in just a moment all right i am back from lunch everything was good um and my brain is much clearer so um i've restarted unreal engine now uh we are back in the very beginning so let's go ahead and get back into our wild west so i'm gonna go back to maps and i'm gonna go to wild west and let's see if that problem uh fixed itself and let's see i can already tell the general store sign that was right there uh seems to be working fine actually it was wasn't it on this side well it's they're all the same it's the same general store side oh yeah the gambling yeah one of those gambling hill whatever but yeah all those problems that we were having earlier all completely fixed great so now let's go ahead and open up our content drawer again and we're gonna go to content and we're gonna go to our movies folder and double click on the level sequence that we've created and let's go ahead and start placing those cameras i have some ideas i think what we're actually going to do is uh cheat a couple shots so let's get that establishing shot in excuse me um let's let's go ahead and say the establishing shot is like um maybe like right here or something yeah so i'm gonna slow down this camera just a little bit and be like like that or something or we can like come out from behind a building wild west traders maybe it starts like that and reveal that way or reveal this way um i could also sort of cheat this in another way start it like right here that'd be all right okay this is uh let's just let's just say this is not gonna be the most cinematic most beautiful uh thing in the whole world but again this is more about just teaching you guys how i can do this uh in a way that's that's free so let's go ahead and just do that um so i'm gonna go ahead and drop down the establishing shot uh camera here and first thing i'm gonna do is click on the transform so i'm adding a keyframe for transform so if you don't know what a keyframe is a keyframe is saying okay uh first we're gonna start here and then from this keyframe we're going to we're going to move and then go over here to the next keyframe so this is position a click on that to create the keyframe we've clicked it and now position b let the let the time play a little bit and about at 120 frames in 120 frames in i want this camera to be right here something like that good enough okay so and then what i'm going to do actually i should have did this before is i'm going to click on this little uh key icon and this icon is basically saying anytime there's any sort of change with any specific transform like this it'll add a keyframe so i'll go ahead and click on that and then if i move it created the keyframe for me you can see so let's go ahead and go back i can click uh this this is the uh you know of course play forward this goes all the way back to the front of it so we're gonna hit spacebar now that moves pretty quickly so we're going to slow it down to about right there one more time okay yeah again it's a it's more about just doing something so let's go yeah that's fine whatever okay so now we're gonna go ahead and change cameras so uh right now up at the top you can see there's this one long i'm just actually yeah i'll explain this the camera cuts this is what is essentially going to be seen by our audience right um the cameras are the individual cameras to choose from so that we know what is to be seen so um a better explanation of this right now it says establishing shot right right here so if i want to make a camera cut then what i do is i can either go here and drop this down and select the second camera which will be this one and see now it's created a cut so it essentially looks like this and when it gets to this point it'll change the other camera yep there's the other camera and then you can switch back by like going here and then hit establishing again so it kind of goes back and forth or you can just drag it right over and cut it up hopefully that makes sense but if you need to change anything you'll see as we go all right so i'm getting my brain back into tutorial mode so um yes i'm i'm still not a huge fan of this establishing shot but again this is what we're just gonna go with so please forgive me uh let's rename this camera to um uh cam underscore one and i'm i i want to do that thing where i duplicate actually you know i'm going to i'm going to delete sorry i'm going to delete that camera and just uh duplicate this one so i clicked on establishing and then i'm going to hit control d to duplicate and now that that is duplicated i am going to go ahead and select the second duplication click it once and then be like camera or cam underscore zero one there and now i'll place this wherever i want to place it but i also need to make sure that it doesn't have any uh transform data like the other one does which it does not so cool so let's move this to wherever that other shot was that i really liked i probably should have like looked at that wherever that was taken hang on i can actually look at it up here so let's go to kim did i just delete it delete it i think i did oh no there it is duh so cam one let's let's just take that position so technically what i can do here is i can right click and i can copy the location and then paste and then same thing this is like not the way to do this but this is the way i'm going to do it come on brain wake up and then right click on rotation on that of the camera and then over here i'm just going to click on the rotation so now it's it's basically put it back but because uh the new camera the new cam one has a different um not too much of a different but a different focal length things are going to be a little different because essentially it's it's uh it's using the same sensor size as the uh the previous camera from the um establishing shot okay apologies if i'm if i'm confusing anyone cause i feel like i'm confusing myself a little bit okay so now that we've got cam one set up uh we can put a character here so let's go ahead and make this i just got out of the camera there let's go ahead and put one character there so let's say it's the um this lady here will put her in front of that camera which i believe is like right there somewhere so i'll go ahead and double check that oh she's there okay so the camera it's hard to see it i'm just gonna grab that yellow there we go grab the green one here and drag it down okay yeah the camera's by the bar there okay so let's drag her over here and bring her down and then let's check it again okay so so here she is let's actually turn her around so i'm going to just go ahead and uh i can go to her skeletal component and then i can rotate on the z-axis like this so we'll essentially have her like this but we need to put like a um an idle animation like she's just kind of like hanging out there doing something i don't know what but we're still controlling this camera so here we can kind of like square up the scene a little bit let's actually bring the focal length out slightly that looks kind of cool maybe lower it maybe something like that yeah that's fine that looks cool okay so we'll leave that camera as it is and she's fine for now so let's go ahead and find a idle animation for her so i'm gonna go back now to here let's grab that character the peasant lady let's see and she is right here yep and let's go to um [Music] sweeping maybe no looking let's see yeah she's just looking okay let's take that one and let's bring that the arms out just a little bit yeah actually as i see that that we're actually going to see this this hand here so let's bring that hand out a little bit more a little bit more just so doesn't clip the dress and good enough i'll take that okay so let's download that without skin 24 yes it's all the same great and let's go ahead and bring that in so let's go over to animations right here and then peasant woman and bring in that idol so looking and then make sure to select her here so peasant woman yes 24 yes and import okay one moment oh and i have to stop i have a meeting just i'll be right back all right sorry about that i just got off a really awesome call uh one of my friends is gonna be doing uh some tooling experiments with me for you guys it's gonna be awesome okay so back on this back on this so uh i haven't changed a single thing so uh let's go ahead and bring in that animation did we already do that i think we did yes okay so here's our our lady she's selected uh and down here in the sequencer we're gonna go now to animation so just for now uh we're gonna go all the way back to the beginning track uh right down here animation and we're gonna bring in that uh looking and then save okay cool let's go ahead and play see how this all looks whoa we're not going through the walls let's back this up here okay so there's there's our uh establishing shot there for one of the things it's not the prettiest i don't care and then the second shot is going to be uh cam one which is let's make sure this is the right cam one that's the right cam one let's change the other cam one to a different name because that's that's not what we want so we'll that put it back to cinema actor our camera active camera actor one that was the initial name of it cool save i'm gonna go and save all again because i don't remember if i've saved all okay yeah she's gonna look good there doing that okay so let's go back one more time play it okay it's there overlooking everything and then let's just do that let's we'll we'll duplicate this so let's say this or duplicate i'm extending it so it just loops that now let's go ahead and say i want uh a camera one to hold a little bit longer or to uh to zoom in while it's going so here she is she's looking in um or looking this way let's let's go ahead and put a keyframe on the focal length here and then press play and then stop right there and then i'll say okay for this focal length i want to change maybe this far so it just kind of like zooms in so let's take a look and see how that looks it might look weird might look cool let's let's just see okay looks weird this is totally weird okay my brain my filmmaker brain is just not happening today so let's go in a little bit maybe okay and then for this shot here okay we don't have the first one okay for this shot here uh i still think that we can do something more maybe like oops wrong spot we'll go here set a keyframe for the focal length go here and then maybe zoom in a little bit let's see what this looks like looks weird to zoom in i'm just not happy am i that's probably enough now i can put something there to like break it up a little bit and then right here is where the cut is maybe so let's bring this movement back slightly these are the key frames for camera one okay so that looks good right there let's have another camera let's go ahead and duplicate this one so duplicate wait why is camera why is this camera showing up in our stuff here we don't want this one in here i'm gonna hit delete all right so camera our second camera one let's call this camera two now are we actually it's at the top bottom no okay camera two my apologies for the confusion everybody let's go ahead and now delete these keyframes on camera two let's put establishing shot to the top here close that down close down camera one camera two so now we're going to pilot camera two which oh looks like did camera two copy the oh camera two copied that oh whatever okay so let's uh let's put camera two right over here on this one and say that's where this guy is and maybe he's seated actually okay let's uh make this so it's not snapping cool yep we'll make this guy seated so let's find a seated thing so first grab this peasant man let's see if we can find him oh i'm still stuck at looking peasant man where are you at peasant man here you are yes use peasant man and then sitting and let's see what kind of like sitting gun rubbing arm he's sitting there talking maybe just sitting idle yeah he's just kind of sitting idle that's fine let's take a look at his position of his arms okay let's uh can i can i move his arms down i guess i can i can change his arms a little bit later and i'll yeah i'll pick him up i'll change him but let's see if there's anything else that we might like ah he doesn't need to react that much he could just be sleeping i mean realistically let's see what this looks like actually no ah standard sitting idle okay cool download that without scan 24 yes and then we will change the actual position of this in unreal all right so let's go back now to animation to peasant man and we'll go ahead and import his animation here sitting idle and choose him there he is 24 yes okay good great and then from here we'll go ahead and bring in that sid our seating let's just drag it to the beginning why not and then now that we're there like that i'll get out of the camera and let's just bring him up here like this this this chair i didn't realize it was a rocking chair let's uh let's just cheat it oh great we'll drag it like this we'll take off the um the lock oops not the whole house just the chair thank you and then we'll drag this down underneath them that's that's a that's the way to cheat it right there yep now he's sitting on a chair that you can't even can't actually see but hey whatev doesn't matter yeah he's just kind of hanging out all right cool uh now that we've got that we can go oh cam two actually we want this to be uh cam one which wait where's cam one wait a minute where's cam one cam one's right here why did that not show up let's let's delete those other camera angles so they're not even showing up at all in our scene so i'm going to cameras i'll just select everything here and say move to trash no just delete them grab those and delete grab that and delete cool so now let's double check this switch this over to cam one why is it calling it cam one two oh because up here i see i'll change it like that there we go so now we can do technically they're the wrong cameras but that's okay that's fine oops change the camera there we go there we go we got it we got it okay there's that and then she's looking i still feel like this establishing shot is is driving me up the wall um so let's sorry let's uh let's actually redo this establishing shot i know you're like wait you're doing it again see where is she at she's over there okay so maybe maybe we do another crazy little thing here where we start maybe like this what if we did this and then yeah this is like a weird shot but hey whatever and let's go ahead and rotate this skeleton so rotate him oops oh it's the whole thing up there that's fine i'll leave it i'll leave it as it is okay so here's something else cool that we can do uh real quick we're gonna go into our camera component for establishing and then we're gonna go to lens setting drop that down i'm sorry not then setting focus setting drop that down and then right here says draw debug focus plane i'm gonna click on that and that purple is telling us where the focus is so i'm just going to drag the focus distance to be right in the middle of that skeleton's face and then i'm going to click off of it so let's go back to the very beginning here and we'll start it there and then the focus starts to go back to her about right there so now what we'll do is uh well actually first we should do we want to have any sort of movement like this what's what this what's this going to look like if we go from here like what's this story telling us right now if we start from here let's just let's see what happens this is this is kind of weird i just want to see what happens all right so we're going to be going down and then we see the skeleton's face so let's go down we see the skeleton's face then we back out a little bit see her all right let's see what this looks like and then we'll adjust the focus so go ahead and press play coming back we see her so we'll drag this part out a little bit so like that just to keep that and then the just gonna move that off to the side a little bit so that it comes straight down the rope a little bit easier okay and then right here is where the focus starts to change so let's go let's go from like right here so what we'll do is we'll go ahead and hit um this little button here to start a keyframe for our focus distance and then we're going to go ahead and check this let's get it set to the right position which is right there yes the beginning that's fine we want it on the rope that's fine yes and great okay now right here let's keep it on him because we want to see him a little bit more the audience goes oh interesting and then now we start to push focus back to her okay so now she about this time will start lifting her arm up so there we go so maybe that actually a little bit faster in so right there let's take a look at how that looks now oops go back to here okay that focus went a little bit too fast back so let's bring this forward a little bit yeah and then now it's back to her so so the essentially what's happening is the shot is changing to the different characters so here maybe what i want to do is like have her oh that's not her let's actually have her look a little bit later so she's looking okay we notice her and then she's looking forward again she sees this guy and then now we cut to this other guy so here go to camera 2 and then from camera 2 we go in slowly on this guy three and then so i'm just kind of like feeling it out if we had some music to to put here uh that would be very very helpful and really just if you want to bring music in you can go to track and then uh audio track and then this is where you would bring your music in of course we don't have music right now so but in the future we could okay so here i don't i don't really want her to do it like this okay so here's here's what we're gonna do i'm gonna say that's where i want her to start her animation right like that and then actually we're gonna hold down uh alt and drag to create this again but we're going to right click on this animation and we're actually going to slow this play rate down to 0.5 there we go and let's zoom in we can kind of put these two together like that it's just fading them all right so now let's look and see how that looks okay it's playing good and then we can see her up there she's bringing her arm down hmm i looked a little weird in it okay so she's looking and then maybe right here but right before she brings her arm down we'll speed it up so let's go like this we'll go edit and then we'll go split section and then we'll right click and then we'll do back to play rate one so now it speeds back up yeah and then once it once it once it speeds back up here i'm going to yeah might as well just keep it going yeah okay that's fine that works so play it through you can see it again yep i feel like this could even cut sooner but if we need to like oh that that part actually a little bit later let's stay focused on that little guy for a little while longer okay now we're telling the audience to look over there and let's bring that cut in a little bit sooner or later i mean so there she is i ended it and then let's uh for for camera two or camera one i'm gonna delay this movement slightly okay so let's make sure now that this is focused on our other guy across the way wow how far away is that focus there it is see that all right let's get that right there cool i like that and that's fine go ahead and take that off now and then this guy's just sitting here minding his own business let's just get up close on him so let's go camera two now so from here i'm gonna say okay start here and then coming in to and then this is where the next cut's gonna be so i'm just gonna pilot that camera and then maybe something like that up let's bring this one down a little bit too what's his face look like up close creepy maybe maybe what we do is instead of having it this far out maybe maybe we start from the side because we can see the chair there and then maybe we crash right there so that looks weird basically we can just now point at the face a little bit let's see what this looks like too fast so maybe it's coming up coming from a little bit higher from her sort of from her angle let's bring this away a little bit we'll keep that there that's fine whatever breaking all my rules here let's go 50 let's bring it back okay okay let's see how that looks this still feels a little fast that that that feels better camera's not the best angles nobody coming from behind them so let's kind of put them up there on that half nah i liked it better center i don't care this is this is a tough one for me to to do get back there we go that's fine okay and quickly just get this part in bring this focus in on the eyes or right in the middle of the bridge of the nose on this sense okay and one more his eyes are weird okay so let's see how that feels now how is that how does this play through you know just a bright sunny day in this random town okay she sees that guy over there cuts to him oh just before that i saw that she ran out of animation and then let's bring his camera movement back a little okay so she looks again take off snapping here because it keeps snapping back i just clicked on this little uh snap icon right there let's go back a little bit okay that's playing there she puts her hand up that was that was pretty laggy okay i still feel like this part is moving a little bit fast so i'm going to go ahead and just extend that out a little so right there is where that starts okay so it comes in maybe it doesn't even move or maybe oh you know what it is because hers her camera is still in motion or her camera stops and then bring his back here okay now from right here again i i don't really i'm just kind of giving up on the camera angles even though i'm still messing with it i'm going to go ahead and duplicate now on this one here go ahead and hit three and that's changed it to three up here let's change this from the two great okay let's drop this establishing is one camera two is heard that is correct or if camera one is her camera two is him and then camera three is this one okay everything is good okay so now we're gonna do is make sure there's no keyframes on this which there are we're gonna get rid of those keyframes and then let's go ahead now and move this to instead of having this guy right away this will be like the our joke guy that's just like randomly there like el chupacabra let's let's do this other guy who's walking so where does this guy walk maybe he's walking here so let's let's do this this might look really crazy it might work it might not uh let's go ahead and take our main character mr boss over here and let's just go ahead and put him on this bridge we don't really know where he's going jesus he's just kind of like going so it doesn't really matter and then we're going to go ahead and give him his walking animation so walking so idle defeat looking around walking and essentially we're going to give him we'll have him stop right here in the middle maybe and then like maybe from this angle here this is where he sees the ship come up and he's just like oh my gosh whatever okay so yeah okay let's drag this over make him walk a bit uh make sure that she's he's not in any of the other shots so there he is there but actually what we're going to do is uh just for the time being i'm just going to hide him or the better way is to actually hide him so we're going to do is go to track here and click actor hidden in game and i'm going to say right there is going to be hidden right there is going to be hidden and then when we go to show the other guy which this is supposed to be cam 2. right here is where he's going to reappear so let's go ahead and make him appear so here hit a keyframe green means he's appeared and then i'm just going to go back one frame and then just hit this little check mark so the red means he's not there green means he is there great so see he's not there we can see her looking over at that guy that guy is sitting on that porch there and then now we're gonna switch over to camera three and camera three is gonna be this guy so now let's uh make sure that his animation is going and it's yep it's going so we'll go ahead and just move this over here like that and what we're going to do now is get out of this and let's make it uh we can make it world or local but because he's kind of like face one specific direction direction it's kind of hard all right so let's go from here this is going to look really weird from from one angle but it doesn't matter as long as it looks good on camera so what we're going to do is a linear movement we're going to go from here down to here from this point in time so making sure we have boss selected yep boss is selected we're going to click on the transform we're going to right click on that transform and go to linear basically saying like it starts moving from that point and it does not stop or slow down so one two three four five six seven eight nine ten whatever okay so imagine that's how long it took him to walk from here now down to this spot and we'll change the camera angles so that we can like apply other animation effect let's take off the snapping move this guy over here like that okay and rotate him a little bit so let's see what that looks like and we'll go ahead and keep it linear on that one specifically he's moving pretty quick so he'll it'll have to take take him a little longer so like that and at this point right in the middle of the walk let's actually make this linear it is already in the middle of the walk let's bring him down to about there and the quarter same thing just make sure he's in the right spot and in the second quarter see now he's going too slow so make this is this too far you think okay so far so good let's bring it back down a little bit give him a little bit more speed okay so now it seems like here he's slowing down a little bit so let's bring him up a little there so that's that's where he's supposed to be so he stops right there and then let's go ahead and bring this animation back until it stops and where does that stop is it actually right there did i get it just right you'll see like a line there's the line okay so we're going to stop on that line there and now we're going to do is again hit animation and let's go to um idle i think yeah idle and then from here what we'll do is actually like turn him around so there he turns around it looks super weird but just just watch watch what happens okay let's say it turns that fast like you just hear something let's do a little bit of overturn and then turn it back okay so now we're gonna place the camera we're gonna move the camera along with it and it'll hopefully in theory uh look really cool okay so let's go back to the front here and cool scroll down and transform and here we go so we're walking with him now and we can kind of get so let's uh let's actually take this camera a little wider go from the side like this let's see what this looks like looks a little funky special it does all right cool play that okay so he gets all the way down to this point let's see what it looks like if we just delete this frame here go back to this again my camera angles are not the prettiest right now but i'm not really focused on that if this was like a flat scene it'd be so much easier but it's not i had to go with the crazy crazy stuff okay it's running away too fast let's try it from there too fast and let's actually start his walking motion maybe a little bit sooner to help with this unless the cuts late oh the cuts later i see there's that guy okay so that's where he stops there ish so let's go back to camera three see what that looks like i feel like this camera shouldn't be moving just yet here but i feel like like he's coming into the frame super fast so maybe we cut this back and then we bring this back here like that and then let's bring his animation let's get out of this one so we can see what we're doing move him back slightly that way there's a little bit of time for him to like walk up into it i feel like the camera is leading a little too much i can just click on each frame let's get them in there like that still leading a bit more than i'd like i'd like i'd love to go out like back up further but because his feet aren't going through right i just don't want to deal with it too much headroom kind of cheat it like that see so right there he should already be turning so let's actually bring this back now and bring this over here like that and then he's already in the in his position there so let's let's have him stop moving at this point so we'll delete those keyframes this is this right here his foot wherever his foot stops is the last position so right there that is his last position which should be technically like right there jumping down a little sooner yep that's his last position so that that means let's go ahead and grab this camera and maybe we can we can do like some sort of like some other shot like here okay and there's that and then maybe we make him turn here so from here dot dot and then yeah so maybe he turns so let's go ahead and skeleton we'll go rotate him whoa back out the camera so i can see it a little bit better just click on him no you click oh there you go might have to restart the editor save i haven't done that a little while save save all right cool and let's go ahead and go back to camera three oh he's churning so essentially what's happened right now is the the rotation only changes in one spot so let's open up this rotation here and we don't want the rotation changing there wait where is it what's going on huh already only oh i'm looking at camera i wasn't saying his his rotation should have only been changing in one spot so here it is right here you can see the rotation change so what we're gonna do here is uh we're gonna put him back into the proper position for a rotation here so right there he should be properly rotated there we go and then like that there okay that looks better so now let's go back to camera three not camera two and let's say right there this is where the camera needs to be needs to end up so we're going to drag this back so let's and what if instead of going this way no i think i think maybe we go this way because maybe the camera goes a little bit far right there and then that's when we start showing the hot air balloon thing save looking looking we'll have him snoring he's just like hanging out snoring and then just a little bit of camera movement here still to build it up a little bit so it's just kind of like the camera stops and slows down except that wasn't good and see like that much maybe not even that much see what that looks like right just a little bit okay and then this lady up here she also needs to keep looking because why not okay so that's good enough i don't really care i've said that probably i'm like a broken record at this point i'm gonna go ahead and save all and because i'm seeing some weird glitches i'm gonna go ahead and restart this project because i think it would be a very wise thing to do so i'm gonna go ahead and close it out and then i'm just gonna restart it up go back to library and then find my project and delete it a free project there we go let that thing load up great everything's good all right go back to our west go back to our map and go back to wow list now one way that you can make that a little bit faster so you don't have to go through all those hoops of getting back to your project you can go to edit you can go to editor preferences and then you can go to um uh wait appearance is it editor preferences i thought it was i may be wrong in this uh it was your default um wait am i wrong hand project settings go go to here and go to project settings and then go to um maps and modes and then right here it says editor startup map click on that and then go to whatever map that that you're using so in my case it's wild west so now basically like i'm just going to go ahead and game default same thing when i restart the editor next time it's just automatically going to open this map so i don't have to go searching for it maybe that'll help somebody cool okay so let's get back into our movie folder there we go okay he's sleeping away and then here comes this guy she's still animated she's just doing her thing that's okay whatever so he's walking along he hears a weird sound what is that sound and then right there we're gonna create now another camera so let's go ahead and select camera three and duplicate so command d or i'm sorry control d call this now camera four is it camera four already yes camera four four oh wait oh it went to the top my bad sorry does that thing so camera four camera four there we go and it named it up here in the outliner so now we're going to drop this camera four so minimize these so i can see a little bit better i'm going to drop this cam 4 down below cam 3. that way you can kind of keep track of it all right deleting all of the keyframes in this camera and let's go ahead and speed up this here and then now we're going to go ahead and bring in this thing so let's this is actually a really cool shot right here in fact this is a probably a pretty good establishing shot actually all right whatever all right so let's do that game mode and get out of that really quick and let's go ahead and bring up this guy bring it up bring it forward rotate it a little bit okay let's get back into camera four and then from here we can drag that thing into scene all right so let's uh let's animate it so if we're technically going to have it moving this way let's just make it turn on the local rotation or local position so right up here if you click this it cycles between uh local and uh global so globe global local is the square and this is the forward because we can see the smoke back there what we're going to do is make it move here so let's see we don't want to see it yet okay so here goes this guy he's coming up and let's say right here we start movement okay so i'm gonna get out of here and let's move this guy and maybe maybe what happens is actually rotation's this way maybe what happens is uh it it starts throwing some shadow on him that might be interesting so that's how you know something is coming so what's what's that gonna look like now okay so camera floor camera three so he's going he's walking huh what is that so now that's where he notices that okay so uh go back to the balloon the balloon airship here it is okay airship track position or transform and then i'm gonna put a keyframe say right there on that transform let's get out of the camera and let's back it up okay and then right here about right there is when i think we ought to have the uh the light on him so or the shadow so it goes right here like this we'll see it move let's just make it a little bit slower actually not that really matters but let's see yeah that looks cool and then maybe a little further more even so like uh if i get out of here i can like turn it around like this even though it looks super weird hmm actually if we want it like this and he's looking and he sees the guy here boom the guy could be like dancing let's turn this like that we need to adjust the sun because in order for this to really make sense what's the best angle maybe from right there yeah because like from right here you can see him looking at him right let's bring them back a little bit further rotate it in fact we can see all three characters from that position so here's what we'll do yeah we'll move the sun so let's go ahead and find in the editor the sun or what will potentially be called directional light oh light source okay so here we go light source let's go ahead and rotate the light source so i'll just start with these here and just rotating the light source so that the shadow of this balloon goes on to him which is probably going to be right there and then i can adjust the other side and maybe a little bit side yeah it looks weird kinda like the light just being there maybe maybe it's not maybe he's not so affected by the the shadow but what shadow looks the best for this environment was it the shadow that was already there what gives it the most depth let's take a look at it from this uh this thing now because now that we've changed the lights definitely like brighter now i kind of did like the shadows from that angle maybe we put the do do we put the shadows like things back where they were no actually i think this looks kind of neat oh that looks cool okay we'll definitely have to work on the post-processing okay so uh let's go back to the airship here uh what we're gonna do now is right here at the beginning let's go ahead and track actor hidden in game for their ship uh go ahead and hit that little thing there and then we're gonna go one space back and i'm gonna say no no make it go away so here we can't see the airship it's completely missing okay you can throw some light on these characters later so here's this guy coming in uh airship appears and now we're gonna have light wait what what's going on what is this and then now we've got this next camera which is going to be camera 4. and maybe camera four reveals is airship moving right here how funny how we have it going down and then up let's go from there i messed that up that one up okay so going back here i'm gonna go ahead and get out of the pilot of this guy and then let's take a look at this and let's say rather than like moving in we we like it at this position in the end i think maybe like that so it's like it's only it's only taken the the light away from that one dude no but i liked it the other way i'm starting to mess it up now okay good math it seems like he's super close okay all right cool um my brain's starting to melt a little bit okay now brain let's go ahead and take camera 4 and move it back to here is that going to be too weird though take this guy we have to hide him so track hidden in game one back and then all right so listen i uh my brain is starting to melt a little bit and i think just the talking and all that stuff is getting me so here's what i'm gonna do i'm just gonna play some music fast forward this thing i'm gonna stop recording and record again and i'm just gonna continue until i get to another point so and the project has to save so all right this going off and my battery's gonna die two percent perfect timing all right here we go okay i'm recording again here we go all right so let's get back over this way [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] uh [Music] um [Music] um [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hi ohio [Music] uh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] now [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] um [Music] this [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] um [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] [Music] uh [Music] man [Music] um [Music] [Music] so [Music] hmm [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] so [Music] so [Music] smile ohio ohio [Music] so [Music] uh [Music] [Music] [Music] one [Music] so [Music] wow wow [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] you [Music] so so [Music] [Music] my [Music] so [Music] um [Music] [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] uh [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] [Music] um [Music] man [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] time [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Music] [Music] what [Music] [Music] wow [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] hey [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] uh [Music] [Music] now [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] no my [Music] [Music] you [Music] um [Music] my [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] do [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] man [Music] man [Music] uh [Music] [Music] my [Music] [Music] um [Music] man [Music] [Music] blah blah blah [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] so [Music] so [Music] now [Music] oh [Music] so [Music] uh [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] wow so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] i have gotten to a point where i'm kind of happy with what i'm seeing here uh i'll be you know quite honest with you um i i just didn't know what to do with the shots really and the story i mean there's not really a story we literally just had no idea what we were going to find i'd never been to this environment before and i'd never used these characters and i didn't know exactly what animations i was going to use but the point being we still did something here and so let's go ahead and finish up what we've got so let's let's go ahead and run through this scene really quick uh again there is no audio this is something uh that we technically should have done before creating this whole thing creating a story but because we didn't know what animation we'd have an environment yet yeah you get it you get it so let's watch let's go ahead and watch so we got the opening shot i'm just showing this rope with this no real reason uh i i'd like to have a reason for that but i don't um okay we see her and then she sees him uh you know he's sleeping so i'm gonna have like sleeping sounds or whatever um and then here's this guy he just looks angry he's walking down like he's just kind of like having a really bad day with a band-aid on his face she looks like he's real rough and then you hear the boom boom boom boom boom boom you know like whatever so some dance music this guy comes in is just trying to start a party and meanwhile the old guy down there like he doesn't really want anything like this around he just wants a quiet day he's had a rough night maybe i don't know but everybody else seems to be awake you know this guy woke up out of nowhere and then you know the girl crossed the way she's dancing too she's into it and the old guy's just like wait what's going on no i don't want any part of this meanwhile this guy he's just like like the wizard of dance getting everybody going and uh yeah this old guy he's just he's just done he's had it so that's our generic scene uh definitely not gonna win me any awards um but for a tutorial it's a thing so now what we need to do is go back through and edit a couple things you probably noticed too by the way that the uh the wrestler is gone i just feel like he didn't add anything and the the time it would have cost me to add in like another dance wouldn't have mattered that much and again it's a tutorial so we still brought him in we still got to see it uh so yes let's let's go ahead and work on the things that we do have in here to improve the quality overall so um let's take a look now at our shots um making sure of course that everything is in focus we're gonna go ahead and bring up the uh uh the focus plane i'm leaving the initial rope a little bit out of focus that's okay because it it's it's a super low quality rope anyway and then this guy is in focus yes this looks good and oh right here let's bring this back into focus slightly yes and then it shoots out oh and then gets her into focus so let's bring that back these shots have been super adjusted like very quick so yeah um and then let's check her so her focus let's go ahead and close establishing we're done with that this focus here is purely going to be on the guy sleeping yes this is right okay this looks good i'm not worried about that focus go ahead and close that one up and then next shot is going to be again on man sleeping let's go ahead and do that okay yeah so that wasn't on there so his eyes are still open we are going to fix that so here we go checking this making sure there's a keyframe yes there is and as it goes in you can see that the focus draws back a little further so let's bring that in that looks good enough i'll take that maybe one little fix there it's not a big deal all right and let's get to the next camera really quick camo 3 and we'll go ahead and ride that camera and then we'll check the focus on this guy so uh here is our main character coming in real grumpy where is that focus this is missing oh there it is i just didn't enable it okay so it's looking good i'm okay enough with that it doesn't have to be perfect yeah except for right here right here i'd like to stay on him just a little bit and then the focus shoots on over to the flying machine oh you know what looks like there's another focus plane going on sometimes you can have two focus planes at the same time you want to make sure you've only got one so always disable it there you go okay so that's good and then camera four let's check this one i'm leaving this one out of focus in the beginning intentionally because it's coming in and then there it is okay so this one is definitely out of focus on this point so right there making sure that there is a focus um keyframe yes there is all right there we go so out of focus and in focus when he comes in oh looks like this keyframe here threw it off so i'm just going to delete that keyframe and that kept it good i'm happy about that one and then the focus is now going to shift to him so i'm gonna grab this keyframe here keep the focus on our guy here and now the focus is on the old man so let's bring this down to the old man get those eyes as good as we can we can also use the dropper over here so you grab this little dropper and you can just put it right on to his uh his eye but it's not really going to focus on his eyes it's going to focus on the center of the actual skeletal mesh which isn't always what you want um i like to have it on the eyes but yeah so let's bring it back to the eyes right that's fine that's actually really good okay and then to the next one same thing quick adjustment oh that was perfect for a second if i could just hold that one yeah there we go and then the last one grab that there perfect and he looks over okay and then the camera shoots off so i'm shooting this camera off here so i could um do some other little camera stuff just for a transition and there's this guy okay so after we get these uh this focus stuff in we are gonna be working on lighting uh just very briefly again because this is a tutorial i just want to kind of you know show you what you can do with lights okay let's move this over still focus on this and there we go right there and then let's drag this over this way and now we're gonna notice that he has turned and that she is on the other side there we go so there's like a a really fast moving focus thing going on here so boom focused on him and now it's on her and then that's the transition now going back to her on camera one so here we are back on her in camera one let's enable that to focus and get that back to her face okay great and there is a bit of movement not too much but that's good enough cool and then disable that one and now let's now go to camera three which is going to be almost our last there we go select that this guy's out of focus here and then really close on the face this will be nice to be able to see that band-aid a little bit better okay bring that in great and it's gonna go a tiny bit out of focus on some parts but i'm not i'm not worried about that either and then it just goes back to actually you know what we'll we'll skip uh this next shot and go straight to the last one because it's we're already here so there's that and then he brings his head into his hands we'll scrub through faces back up get those eyes a little forward more there we go that's good and then we'll call this camera done so now last one we're gonna just hop back to camera four we can go close that up camera four and you can kind of see i'm doing it on the side camera because i forgot to hit this part okay so camera four is looking good there guy doesn't have a face so we're just gonna just kind of get his head in shot or in in the in the focus range okay so he bob's his head out and then he kind of goes that way so we're still gonna focus on the head all right that's it that's it for focus that's it for a camera work so now let's get the lighting in lighting is super important because that's gonna improve the quality of our cameras in general so save because we've done all that work there now that we've got that let's go to the very first scene the cool thing is all you've got to do is place the cameras once once you place them you're pretty good nope there we go okay so this shot's going in oh sorry before we do the cameras let's make sure um we set all the camera stuff properly too so here's what we got to do we need to have motion blur motion blur makes all the difference in this so make sure you click on each of your camera's camera component and then you're going to want to scroll down to where you get to uh rendering features drop that down and then go to motion blur and then uh enable amount and target fbs fps we do want to keep it at point five that's fine uh but let's change that target fps to 24. we're going to do this for all of our cameras so let's do that very quickly grab this same thing the cool thing is is it's automatically going to be right there in that position of the camera component when you go in between each of these cameras so it should make it fairly quick 24 okay grab this one too 24 and last camera boom boom 24. cool that just gives us a more [Music] filmy look you know we want we want that we want that natural looking um motion blur uh there is a bit more that i could probably do but for now this is what i'm going to do okay um lighting i keep saying i'm gonna do lighting okay so let's take a look at this do we need any sort of lighting on this i don't think so um it's not not really necessary now she definitely needs lighting um can't see her very well we we want to definitely feature the fact that you know she is up there let's get rid of this on the side of the screen so what we're going to do here is we are going to bring in um just i think in this situation i thought about maybe a point a a rec light but i think maybe a point light would work so we're going to go up here to this little plus symbol we're going to go to lights and we're gonna bring in a point light okay let's bring this point light right over here like this and just kind of bring it up a little bit and then what we're gonna do here is we are actually going to um scroll up and we are going to click on or change the um and attune an attenuation i think that's how you say it we're gonna we're basically gonna decrease that so that the light isn't spilling all over the building because we're not trying to cast shadows on the building we simply want to illuminate her a little bit more so that you know our eyes are drawn to her especially from this distance so as you can see now that she's there she's she's pretty lit up but no shadow you know it's it's it's uh it's good we do notice maybe a little bit of light spill on the top part of this uh the sign but you know i'm not i'm not too bothered by that it's it's kind of okay i mean realistically you could just use a spotlight and put the spotlight down or use a wreck light which is kind of like uh you know just a longer light but in this situation again that's what i'm using indirect lighting intensity increase that i don't really care about the scattering in this situation i can change the intensity of it of course i don't i think i'm pretty happy with where it's at right now so i'm not going to mess with that too much and then i'm going to make sure that this is a movable light so i'm not having to bake it which i mean i i wouldn't bake it any but anyway but let's go back one more time take a look at this and see what would have happened if we would have instead of putting a point like put a spotlight it's probably a smarter idea maybe it's a good idea to teach you guys the differences between these lights game mode so we can see where the spotlight is being so it's a we have a little bit more control over exactly where this light goes so let's go down bring this up pull this over and tilt it down a bit bring it right there kind of to the sun position we can see the sun is coming actually from like this side you know according to her shadow but you know we can do a little bit more let's uh let's go ahead and uh get rid of that one for now and what we're going to do for this one here is just rotate it bring it down and then same thing we're going to take this radius down so it's not affecting the other stuff around and you know what that that looks pretty good okay that that's the better one to use so let's go ahead and get rid of that first point light all right yeah cause it's it's essentially doing the same thing it's just now we don't have that light being spilled up onto the uh the top of the uh the building but you know what sometimes it's it's not a bad thing to do that like if right now if we wanted to add a little bit more light underneath um you know the scene we we could which i mean not a bad idea really let's see what that looks like if we do it i mean test everything you know i'm all about tests do the test okay let's see where did that light end up i brought it in at least i think i did point where's this one oh it's because i'm in game mode i can't see it okay so let's bring this one up bring it back a little oops and then this one here let's take off uh cast shadows uh simply because like i don't necessarily want to cast shadows and then we will decrease the intensity let's bring it down to like a two and then let's go world position not that it doesn't look like it matters on this this one and let's look at it from this angle so here you can see there's still quite a bit of light being thrown so let's change it to intensity of one same thing with the other one intensity of one and then we can also change the color of these lights uh because i feel like you know these these uh there it's it's like there's too much blue in it so all you got to do is click on this i can change it down here yeah i mean you could you could do whatever you want to throw light under there you can change it you can make it a disco light you could like make it colored you know that's kind of neat too but anyway i don't like either looks of those so we're just gonna leave this as it is all right so yeah there we can see her and that's that's the most important thing okay so here she is here uh i would like maybe a little bit of a backlight on her here um or at least a light from the side so i have a better view of her especially in this shot so uh for this one i'm gonna go ahead and bring in a light so point light and we'll just put it right here for now let's bring it up and then let's just kind of scoot it on this way and decrease that intensity to like yeah that's fine and then bring this up a little and then we'll take it make it movable um i'll leave cast shadows on just for now decrease intensity again to 0.5 let's see the before and after we have a little bit of you have a little bit of light going on that's okay there that's that's fine for now let's look at it from this other angle just to see if it's causing an issue you know what this this angle here you can barely even tell that it's there so i think i might just leave it as it is now so we can see her a little bit better three-point lighting systems are much better in this situation we absolutely need to be able to get a light on him so again let's go ahead and get a light and this time let's try a wreck light same thing um just drag it in difference with the rec light is see it's like a big rectangular light that you can actually we can rotate we can make wider if we wanted to so we can actually grab these uh doors right here on the side to the increase the width and stuff like that so what i'm actually going to do is i'm going to rotate it down i'm going to try this actually that's a 0 minus 90 and then there let's do that and then let's bring it up and forward a little bit and then for this here i'm going to take the uh intensity on this into 0.5 and let's see maybe a little bit more than 0.5 yeah let's see what happens with that before and after so let's go rec look at that but it looks good right it's kind of hard to tell that there's even a light on him but it's gonna look really good because it still feels feels good all right so yeah we'll go ahead and leave that as it is i think i'm okay with that we will adjust uh his actual hands and how they're sitting uh after this after this little round of lighting all right and this guy i'm not gonna add any other light to i don't i don't think he needs any other light i mean here it would be nice to have some other light you know coming down from uh maybe another angle but i'm just i'm not going to so let's this guy right here i think he could use some lights for sure i mean he's he's the party guy so let's go ahead and bring some lights in there so this one uh point light let's just fill up that whole thing with a light let's just say like right there is his light and let's make this a party light purple purple's a party light all right cool we got our purple party light and i don't care about the light bleed uh above all of this because to me it's it's just kind of funny like this this guy is just he just he's his thing he does his thing oh and uh what i probably should do is make that light follow um the ship so what we're gonna do is with that light selected we're gonna select our light over the scene and we're gonna hit track and then actor to sequence and then add rec light wait oh that wasn't the rec light that's right that was the spotlight but here's what we'll do get out of game mode here or this we'll grab this light and drag it down just a tad yes and then from here we're gonna go track and then point light 11. that's fine and then just like the guy in this situation what we're gonna do is we're going to track and we're going to attach to the ship so let's go ahead and zero that light out let's make sure that it is attached to the ship the entire time so when the ship moves the light light moves too and let's grab that light bring it down this way there it is and we'll get it into the cabin of this ship local actually world and local are the same for this one okay so move this into here like this drag it above and dude is ready to party that is that is the most party light yep oh yeah yeah that's party that's party cool cool oh sydney have some issues so look at that now look at how he's coming in he's got that like purple party like this you know this guy is all about party all right cool um save all right uh let's take a look now that's good okay this guy's light is now a bit of a problem so what we're going to do is we are going to grab this light and we are going to track this as well so grab attach to sequence track rec light and then uh here we have the intensity so let's back it up a little bit and we're going to hit a keyframe for intensity and go ahead and track uh transform as well and then we're gonna hit a keyframe for transform let's take a look at what happens and here it is okay so let's actually take this back a little bit let's rotate it and let's let's throw some more light up in there see what happens maybe it'll look good maybe it'll look horrible but i think it's not going to do too much worse than sort of what we've had i mean you can see him i feel like he needs more light though from the other side let's uh what should we do on this situation do we double this light up we could we can hold down uh alt and then drag this light to create two of them and then we can rotate it to light up his back a little bit and then just take it down a notch so like right there looks like that does both of them all right so that actually looks okay i'm fine with that because when he gets up let's take a look yeah the lights not bother him too much i'm fine with that now her on the other hand this light here is causing us a problem now so we're going to go ahead and add point light to the level sequence and then we're going to track so hit track and then go to transform we're going to hit a keyframe for a transform back it up before the scene shows her and then from here we're gonna go ahead and let's just say we move it up and away maybe or maybe no no no no instead of transform we're not gonna track the transform we're only gonna attract the intensity yeah because if we if we do it like this it'll be better so we're going to hit a keyframe for intensity on that first shot and then here we're just going to zero it out uh but then then we'd like really lose her though we'll just lower the intensity let's see how that looks you know what i think that's fine oh but that gets a little hot that other that other light right there that spotlight that gets a little hot so we're gonna go ahead and get out of this select that light track that one too so add actor to sequence and then from this we're gonna go ahead and keyframe where it's hot and key where it is good so let's go to where it's hot now and let's lower that intensity to where it's not so hot that looks better now let's have a look back at this watch her dance okay so she comes in it's okay it's okay for now okay so now i'm pretty happy with that i mean there's not a whole lot going on he's just got this magical light i don't really care so okay we've got all that now it's time for us to start working on the post process a little bit because see how his eyes he looks like he's bleeding it's it's pretty harsh so post processing uh is going to be the one to handle all of that so let's find our post processing you can go up to your outliner and usually type post then you can find it post process volume or you can type p p and uh that will do it as well alright so let's go ahead and check it out what have we got going on in this thing okay so yes okay so let's check our colors so we're going to open up colors and temperature and we can adjust our color temperatures if we want to we can adjust our tint it looks like it looks like the color temperature is set something crazy so white balance let's actually change white balance to um color temperature let's see what else could this be there's there's a possibility that it's got a lut on it so let's see um we don't really want that we don't care about that we don't want that exposure [Music] rendering features no post process of all yeah um what is gonna be this is always fun just trying to like if if already has an issue that i don't like it's like what can i do i technically i could bring it into um i could bring it into my editing software and fix it but i'm gonna add a little bit of chromatic aberration here not the best to do in the game engine but for speed okay if you're making like a legit short film everything i'm showing you right now not really what you want to do like seriously i'm just like showing you guys like the fastest and easiest way to just get something done for free okay so it looks like here is where most of our issues are coming from so right here it's all in the mid tones yeah okay so let's take a look now see look at that that already the skin already looks better at least closer to what i want so that's what it was set to is something crazy on the side so now i can go ahead and make this this color here fit a little more of what i need so i'm also going to change this wreck light wow ring just warming that up a little bit because i feel like that light was a bit too cold for my taste and same with this light back here in fact let's grab this and what i'm going to do is click on this and then i'm going to say uh drag and drop colors to save so because i like that color i'm just going to drag and drop it in there and then i can go back in here click on this and my color is already up there and that will match the colors to what i need let's check on her ctrl and zoom down as to zoom out okay yeah see it's it's got a different feel to it now like the whole project just has a different feel it's a little bit more of a a realistic look to it trying to think if i want to add a little bit more of a brownish color into this shot back here but i think this light this other fill light that i have might be the one that's causing me some issues i don't like because this light's fine but it's definitely the other one okay so let me get out of this turn around grab this light that's throwing blue ish it's not blue but it looks blue compared there we go yeah that feels better dusty okay he's coming through he looks way better way better can still see that that looks really great we can see the light lumen is working beautifully okay great we have a lot more focus on what's happening because the reds aren't being so overly saturated we can actually see what we're doing here and i feel like that shot is still a little cool like blue cool i feel like she's she could be sitting up a little bit higher her feet are clipping through the ground so i'm gonna go ahead and adjust actually adjust her real quick so let's grab her here just pull her up not where your dress isn't going through and here she comes down slightly yeah there we go yeah feels a little better i feel like that dress needs some physics i don't know if it does or not but i i wish i could add the physics i just don't have the time to work physics okay you know what i'm not going to add any more lights i think the lights are good i think the post-processing is okay uh enough i can hear my computer being uh being warm i can see my mouse starting to slow down in some places i'm so ready for my new graphics card i actually have an entire new computer behind me that i haven't even opened up yet i just haven't had time all right great we've done pretty good we're doing pretty good on time and everything okay so now that we've got all of that let's take a look a quick look at it and i feel like there was one more thing i needed to add of course our lights are see our lights disappeared from here that's okay this is just not rendering the best right now what was the last thing i was going to add guys do you remember what it was i feel like it was something slightly important but i cannot remember for the life of me what it was oh yes yes uh animation offsets okay so this is gonna be a very quick thing uh we're gonna do um i was gonna turn this guy's head into a meta human head this guy here but if you want to learn how to turn him into a metahuman uh here's a link for you that you can click now or down below in the video description there's a link that you can click on to learn how to turn him into a better human but yeah i i'm not gonna do that now it's it's a just time wise it seems to be a bit of work but that's one way you can do animation stuff um my apologies for not showing you that but again there is a tutorial for that okay so now that we have that let's go ahead and do that offset stuff so his eyes and his hands so okay let's let's click on him here we have his animations and all that sort of stuff what we're going to do is we're going to right click on the sk and then we're going to go to uh edit with fk control rig and then we're going to say reduce keys yeah go ahead essentially it's just getting rid of redundant keys if they're like a some that are the same and then go ahead and create so what that's doing now is it's basically baking out all of the stuff that is happening in the timeline oh and i'm yeah okay so it's it's baking out all of that stuff there and as you can see these are all the keys for every single bone that he has right good good good now what we're actually going to do is we are going to minimize that fk control rig and under section we're going to click section and we're going to go to additive and then from additive i guess we open that up again and you're going to see a second control rig make sure make sure that you drag this additive so it fills the entire uh length of this here so let's go to this point there okay so what we're going to do is now right click on control rig the top one and we're gonna click locked so we want it locked we don't wanna move it and then now we're gonna drop down the second control rig which is our additive rig and we're going to find his um forearms and then once we find his forearms basically what we're going to do is drop this down we're going to find the rotation and before we do that hang on a second we want to find the last place that we like where he's at so like right now where he's at the way he's moving that's what we want so i'm going to say keyframe all here reason for that is because i want everything to go back to normal there you'll see what i mean in a second i'll talk about it all right so okay here let's go ahead now and go back to the forearm so we're going to go ahead and row uh rotate rotate that forearm using yaw oh sorry maybe not yaw pitch and yaw so pitch and yaw you see what i've done there so now i've created two key frames and moved his arm down so as he breathes and as as he just sleeps is everything's gonna be down that way okay so same thing with the other forearm pitch and yaw so pitch down and yaw in pitch a little bit more up good good great okay now that we've got that let's go ahead and select those new keyframes that we just made and because the animation is essentially looping we're just going to move it here so now watch what happens when we watch it back he's still moving but now his hands are where they belong right okay so uh the other thing now is his eyes i you know what i don't know if he has eye controls uh that i should have checked i haven't really checked it with mixamo characters uh so let's see i'm gonna go ahead and save that and then let's go and check our miximo characters so characters and then uh for him let's go ahead and double click on him over here and essentially what i'm going to be looking for now are his um [Music] uh his his uh his curves his um blend shapes okay i don't brain blend space i'm not sure if he's got blend shapes i'm probably looking in the wrong area my brain is telling me that i'm looking in the wrong area did i click on skeleton was that what had happened okay yeah morph targets over here are basically like that's that's where we would be able to control it so unfortunately uh this mixamo character i believe does not have any way to be able to control the shape so we are gonna do something really sneaky right now this is gonna be fun so what we're gonna do let me think this through make sure i'm doing this right because i think i think i can pull this off in a really funny way i think his eyes there's a chance that let's just say his eyes would have like something separate but i think his everything is located right here there are his eyes right there so the only way that i could close his eyes is if i was to potentially move the mesh or or what i could do this is so dumb i'm going to create another another another object and another material okay so yes here's what we're doing let's let's go ahead and um sorry i'm cracking myself up over here because i know what i'm going to do and i know it's done i'm gonna say no to that uh i'm not gonna worry about that let's okay go to your content drawer uh for this character we're gonna create a new material so i'm gonna go to character i'm gonna go back to him i'm gonna right click over here and i'm going to go to material m underscore eyelid or underscore sleep so m underscore sleep and then i'm going to double click on that and then i'm gonna hold down three and click which is gonna give me this um it's it's a basically like a little color palette i can double click that and then i'm gonna just find the color of his eyelid let's bring that up there it's going to be like what maybe like that or something and then i'll apply and then let's just i'm just going to drag this over here and actually i am going to go ahead and make it a little bit darker so let's uh let's actually take the right color here so it seems like his eyelids are about that really that dark is that really how dark his eyelids are there's his eyelids okay so let's double click on this and then let's grab i guess i guess that's his eyelid color so that's his eyelid color so get that and then we're gonna save and essentially what we're gonna do now is we are going to um go up to the top and we're going to uh basic and then i'm sorry shapes and then a sphere do you know what i'm going to do i'm just going to create kind of like a new eyeball except in this case i don't i'm not doing an eyeball i'm just doing uh i could do an eyeball if i want to but no i'm just going to create the um uh to do do do when he's sleeping his eyelids okay cool live link out later okay get rid of that and then details let's make this even smaller so 0.1 making sure that's blocked 0.1 0.1 maybe like .08 that's still pretty big point zero five there it is so his i is point zero five oh maybe bigger than that point zero seven point 0.06 good enough and then for this uh sphere here we're going to go to right click and we're just going to type in sleep that just does not look like this the right color does it all right so i'll double click that and i'm just going to lighten it up a little bit and then also let's take off see how it's shiny let's take off that shininess so i'm gonna do the same thing hit hold three and click i'm gonna drag that drag this over to uh roughness and then i'm just gonna make it lighter like that and that's probably better so the darker it is the shinier it is the lighter it is the more matte flat whatever you want to call it cool okay that's better now let's see if that actually works better with his eye and still still a little bit off but i'm almost to the point where this guy just needs to like sleep with his eyes open let's grab this color and then let's decrease saturation slightly that's it that's that's way closer than what we've had okay cool so now that we got that it looks like he is sleeping and let's duplicate that let's bring it over to the other side he's sleeping look at that voila okay so now that we've got these two things we're gonna go ahead and just uh select those we're gonna track them and then we are going to attach them to our guy so attach them to the peasant man and we're going to attach it to his head cool let's zero them both out again we have to do that whole thing so make sure to zero it out dude there you go zeroed out 0.06 is fine still zero out this one as well and then just bring these forward and what we'll do is we will say hidden in game when it's time for him to open his eyes this is like this is not the way you want to do this this is not the way you want to do this but this is a way that you can do this okay it's spear spear and make sure okay okay there's the other sphere okay so make sure i get the right ones all right here we go drag that onto dude's face and you know what from the side i think it'll probably look okay from here it looks horrendous oh gosh but it's fine and yeah cool okay good enough not good enough okay yes good enough oh wait wait wait wait wait wait that's creepy hang on bring this up and then bring this out whoops there okay so uh when we when we look at it now we should be all right let's go and drag that all the way out let's go track hidden in game and track hidden in game and then let's make sure that we can see this right okay so now he's going and he's definitely sleeping he looks like he's sleeping that's all that matters and now what do we got to do what do we got to do we have to hide them so i'm going to go ahead and say visibility keyframes on visibility go a couple frames forward and now now they are disabled there we go we just did some basic fixes i wish i could do a little bit more um you know for for the eyes and location and all that sort of stuff but technically i mean you can where's our light over there uh technically you can um if you wanted to you could like put in an eyeball like that and change it or you can take your character into blender or whatever and just readjust things and give them face abilities there's a there's actually a uh an add-on and blender called face it that you can use to like be able to move the face and do all sorts of stuff like that really really helpful i'll have to post a tutorial on that but yeah all right so it is officially time to export this video which was created with all free software and no motion capture tech right pretty cool that you can do this for free um just takes a bit of time and a little creativity so yes let's go ahead and export this there are two ways that you can export uh well actually like three or four ways but i'm gonna show you my way of doing it uh first the the the way that most people would render if they're trying to get like a really high quality beautiful cinematic render is they would go to movie render queue i would suggest that if you're really trying to put out something that belongs in a theater or you're doing this for television or you're just doing it to really drop some jaws the drawback is it's going to take a lot of time it could take up a lot of your hard drive space and your computer might hate you if you don't have the best computer in the world my computer is is yeah i gotta upgrade so what i'm gonna do what i use to render for now because of youtube i'm just making content for youtube i'm actually using uh movie scene capture it's the old legacy version that we used to use in unreal for so yeah i'm gonna go and click on that and then i'm gonna hit the movie icon so up at the top because earlier in this project uh we enabled prores i'm going to select apple prores encoder uh not rendering audio so i don't really care i'm gonna render 4k because why not i probably should do 1080 because 4k doesn't really matter in this but whatever and then 444 you can choose 422 which is you know a lower quality but still looks good in fact i think i'm just gonna go four two two because i don't need four foot four four four four is much bigger file it'll be pretty but uh talk about hard drive space yeah uh that's really good if you're gonna do like any sort of like really heavy color grading or like if you want to do like a green screen work in here or whatever yeah everything else here is going to stay the same and then i'm going to make sure that i'm exporting to the right place so i am going to select where mine is going to go which i'm going to say is going to be in a brand new folder called free project how many of you guessed that was going to be the name of this and select folder all right great and it's time to captcha i'm not gonna save i don't really care to save should probably save but i'm not going to because i think i'm safe all right there we go and then now at the top left of the screen it is going to show my scene the very first frame is going to be just a sort of a weird off frame but yeah that's fine well that was it guys this is how i do it and once this is all done i can bring this into final cut or davinci resolve or whatever you edit with and you can touch up the colors you can do whatever you need to do but we've done it we created this so thanks for watching hope you enjoyed this hope you learned something make sure you subscribe if you haven't already and yeah i'll see you in the next tutorial if you have any questions feel free to let me let me know later
