Unlock Animation Possibilities: Retargeting Mocap with 'Auto Rig Pro'

You've purchased Auto Rig Pro in order to rig your  character or animations and you can also Retarget   your animations from your MoCap skeleton to your  character it's actually simpler and easier than   the free version with Rokoko and Rigify but it  has a few steps that need to be mentioned let us   import our MoCap move it a little bit aside open  up our menu in the ARP tab go to the Auto Rig   Pro Remap, in the source Armature select your  MoCap skeleton click on the eyedropper and   in the Target Armature select your character's  Auto Rig Pro's rig and click on the eyedropper   click on the auto scale click on the build  bone list let me scale it up a little bit   as you can see the Auto Rig Pro automatically  identifies which bone is suitable for the   MoCap bone, okay let's click on the retarget and see  what happens as you can see we have an error:  The root bone must be marked first we must find our  root bone in this case our hip bone and click on   this checkbox set as root let's go to the pose mode in our rig select this rig as you can see   it's C_root_master.x this bone here click on that  and set as root click on retarget the frames it's   fine okay the animation is retargeted but as you  can see the arms is not correct it's because we   don't have defined the rest pose to do so click  on the redefine rest pose click OK and go to the   front view as you can see the arms are T-pose in  the mocap and in the character it's A-pose and   the legs are a little bit wider too to fix that  we are already in the pose mode select your limb   and rotate it a little bit in order to copy  the pose of your character the other hand and   make the legs a little bit wider after you're  done click on apply then click on retarget okay   as you can see the hands are fixed now okay the  animation is fixed and as you can see Auto Rig Pro   automatically changed everything to FK retarget  our model as it was an FK rig we can change it   as you can see there are presets here you can save  by exporting your retargeting bones or import the   targeting bones if you want to use the Auto Rig Pro add-on to retarget to other rigs for example   if you use the Auto Rig Pro addon in order to  retarget your mocap to Rigify or BlenRig or   any custom rig that you have you can save that in  order to increase your speed in the later projects   but if you are using an Auto Rig Pro rig you  can click here and these are the presets as you   can see there are mixamo rigs FK arms and IK legs  FK arms and FK legs and IK arms and IK legs I want   to change this retargeting to IK rigs so click on  that then click on the retarget as you can see the   animation is retargeted to the IK rig if I play  the animation everything just works fine and if   I need to tweak something let's go to the pose  mode and if I move anything as you can see it's   still an IK rig not an FK rig and if I want  to import the mocap from other things like   Daz Studio, character creator or Rokoko or even the  unreal, Unity everything is prefixed for the auto   rig Pro rigs okay that's it for this video If you  like this video please hit the like And subscribe   to the channel more videos and tutorials on the  character riggings Anatomy animations everything   related to the characters are gonna be uploaded  soon thank you for watching have a great day bye
