he did want me to fix the brake line and i'll i'll do that but it probably won't be part of this video now we're flushing the heater core on a 2015 ram 3500 it's only got 40 000 miles and the heater core is already plugged up so erico mr south main auto he turned me on to this method i'm using clr there's a submersible pump inside that bucket we're just circulating it through it's been running for about an hour we're gonna flush it with some water i had [Music] this gizmo which lets you use air and water to flush out the heater core never have much luck with these but this clr method seems to work pretty well [Music] anyway that's not why we're here we're here for the s10 blazer part two i was not going to film fixing the brake line but what i found was so shockingly bad i thought you guys might enjoy it let's start with the good news the good news is the frame on this truck is pretty solid and the body's rotted out but structurally it's not too bad for a 22 year old truck in our climate this thing is pretty solid there's plenty of bad news though the cv boots are all torn see the grease is slung out of all of them but the suspension is pretty tight some of the boots are missing off the tire rod ends and stuff but the there's no real slop ball joints are pretty good brakes themselves seem pretty good does have a lot of oil leaks i don't know what's leaking oil cooler lines or something dripping pretty good there's our o2 sensor that's bad bank one sensor one wiring looks good i think it's just got a bad sensor it's an acdelco it's probably original but what is not original is the catalytic converter she has been deleted some more interesting exhaust work downstream muffler's not too bad and then it's got some newer calipers on the back i think and they've done a brake job on it but the uh the brake line repair is [Applause] it's pretty bad uh this spring shackle here is broken that's the only kind of major thing i found on the bottom side all those evap lines that's your charcoal canister right there all the evap lines are rotted out so i'm sure it's going to have some evap leaks but yeah check out this brake line so there's the t from the hose on the rear axle and then they just leaned her up against the shock absorber and it's got a new hose but they neglected to put it into the bracket don't know why so obviously that's a problem the brake line going out to the right sides super crusty too we're gonna have to just replace that one there's no way it's gonna survive and then somebody has spliced on a new brake line see it right there it's running outside the frame which it shouldn't do along by the parking brake and then they put on a compression fitting i don't know if they didn't get it tight or what i think they probably just the line they attached it to is so rotted that it's broken above the compression fitting they should have gone all the way to the hose i don't know why they didn't do that so that's what we've got to do i think there's a coupler yeah right there you guys can't see it right up there there's a coupling so we'll just attach a new line there run it along the frame rail and we'll go all the way back to the hose and two new lines out to the wheels and we should be good to go also check this out this is awesome i swear on my life i have not touched this with a tool you might be thinking that's just a plastic cap but uh nope that's the entire lug nut finger tight so somebody's been meddling where they shouldn't have been [Applause] so so foreign so that's the original line there and this is the new one that they scabbed in and they got pretty close you see they have the correct flare union here in the middle that's okay but then towards the end it kind of goes off the rails so we've got the brass compression fitting here and they tied onto that original rusted outline that goes up to the hose i don't know why they did that if they would have just replaced that whole line in one piece it would have been fine anyway we're going to make up a new one we're going to use this nikop material this is a this is a quarter inch brake line so i'll just bend up a new a new one piece line and we'll we'll fish it in there and actually there's the aftermath there of the complete brake line replacement on a silverado 2500 and i put one of those dorman stainless steel brake line kits on it they're fantastic it's like 85 bucks for that kit has all the lines you need already pre-bent pre-flared has all the the fittings you just take the old stuff off put the new ones on and away you go well that should get us pretty close the nice thing about this nycop is it's still flexible if we don't have it quite right we can always tweak it once we get it installed so now the fun part we've got to fish that up along the frame rail and that the long one that goes to the back axle is always the worst one this one's not so bad because it goes on top of the frame rail when they go inside behind the fuel tank those kind of suck all right let's get this piece of crap out of here see if we can fix that up but before that i've got to visit the first aid station i'm talking about a bad place to get a cut got myself tangled up in a ratchet strap i don't know i really feel like this qualifies as a a job where it would have been easier to do it the right way instead of farting around with all this crap i just happen to have a surplus of these brake hose clips due to an error on my part turns out they are sold in quantities of four so you do not need to order four get our brake hose clip installation tool here there we go man was that so hard like why wouldn't they do that so this one is a 3 16. how do we want to do this i don't have the original brake line to reference assuming it probably went up here and then down foreign i think something like that will work so so there we go so [Applause] [Music] we're gonna go ahead and save ourselves a whole 1.50 by reusing these nuts [Applause] there's one there's two yeah usually the brake line just rusts inside the nut makes a nice protective oxide layer on the outside you just run your drill right through that shove the thing out the other end and these will be just fine as long as there's still a good hex on them no reason you can't reuse them well my little pumper on my flaring tool here decided she didn't want to pump no more i think we got it fixed now i found some yeah some badly torn o-rings inside this plunger but i think i fixed it the ones i had weren't a hundred percent match but they should get us by for a while this thing's been a trooper it has flared a zillion brake lines i don't even know how long i've had this thing fantastic tool this is a master cool flaring tool this one came off the mac tools truck but it's it's a master cool brand so all right folks we are done with the brake lines i don't know how to make an exciting video about replacing brake lines it's just kind of a a tedious job that unfortunately just has to be done and we do a lot of them in our area so there's our new quarter inch break line that runs all the way from the front to the back i tried to reuse as many of the factory clips as possible i think it looks pretty decent and then we've got new brake lines from the tee and the hose out to each wheel this one on the right side came out pretty good i think reused the original clamp here yeah got our brake hose clipped in we should be good to go but we're not out of the woods yet we've got to bleed it out and this has abs so that's always tricky well folks i guarantee guarantee that whoever put the brake lines on did not get the bleeder loose on the right rear caliper so i'm guessing they were pretty squishy anyway she doesn't want to come out we're going to try a little trick here see what happens all right give her the old shot cool now we're going to try using an impact should be 10 millimeter at least it was at one time oh yeah jumped right out of there okay we got ourselves a brand new brake bleeder that'll work so weird doesn't want to pump up maybe it's just got too much air in it that's right we're getting the big guns out this is a vintage kd tools pressure break bleeder i've got it hooked up to the appropriate adapter let's see what happens now oh yeah beautiful let that run for a minute squeeze all the big bubbles out then we'll go to the other side the nice thing about the pressure bleeder is you never have to worry about the reservoir running out because it constantly refills it with fluid the only problem i have with it is sometimes like especially on trucks when you want to do the rear the rear brakes you can't get enough pressure through the pressure bleeder to get fluid to the rear without it leaking at the master cylinder at least that's been my observation okay that looks pretty clear oh mortsky says the way to do it is to push fluid up from the caliper back up into the master cylinder he's got some kind of syringe or pump or something that he uses the only thing i've ever bled that way is a clutch a clutch slave cylinder i'm sure it works just i've never tried it on brakes all right what's going on here there it is some pretty nice looking stuff isn't it that cool you can just you can see the fluid clearing up all right that should do all right this thing's pretty awesome it's getting kind of kind of tired the bladder is starting to leak a little bit the pressure gauge doesn't work it or it's not accurate and then it leaks a little bit right here so if i leave it sitting on the shelf for too long it'll weep weep a bunch of brake fluid out what i do is you're supposed to fill it up with the schrader valve here so what i do is just use a regular tire pressure gauge keep it about 10 psi and it usually does pretty well i think mighty vac or somebody makes one that's like a you pump it up like a weed sprayer i might get one of those if this thing ever completely craps out but yeah if you're trying to do a one-man brake bleed this is a fantastic tool and if you want to do flushes and stuff it's about the only way you can do it oh folks you know life is hard but when you're stupid it's a lot harder uh he wanted me to fix the power locks and i did fix them all that was wrong was a a blown fuse so the good news is it was a simple fix i imagine that's going to be related to the melted wires in the harness the bad news is there's the keys on the seat and so now we get to break into a 2000 chevy s10 blazer shouldn't be too hard here's your gone in 60 seconds lesson of the day so all you got to do is just jam something in the top of the door here and then you need a reaching device you're gonna reach down through the seal and you're gonna hook the door handle on the inside and you give her oh come on might be a little too long let me chop that off tell you guys a little story long time ago i used to work at a used car dealership and uh at car dealerships keys are constantly getting locked in the cars especially used car dealership because they a lot of times they only have one key you have people test driving them you know all day long that aren't familiar with the car anyway one of the sales guys he was like a an ace at popping doors open and he had all these rods that he had custom bent and he hung him up above the door that went between the the shop and the sales office and they hired a new guy and he was like cleaning up the shop or something and he he spots these rods hanging above the door and he decides he's going to go through and straighten them all out make him look nice and pretty and this sales guy just about lost his mind he'd spent all these years tweaking these rods to be perfect for popping doors open and this guy came along and straighten them all out that not work on this car well okay can i just push the unlock button there it is all right like i was saying before we got uh interrupted there the the power locks work now and the only thing i found wrong was this blown 15 amp fuse come on you can do it there it is so i don't know why that blue my only guess is that it has something to do with the the meltage inside that harness and the the power door lock circuit is the very next one right next to the four wheel drive fuse so i imagine there's some cross meltage and like i said we may see more of that but the good news if there is any is that the fuses are working and they protected that circuit we also got the tailgate back so yeah that latch must be somehow connected to that circuit as well so we're back in business that should be it we've got brakes we took care of the burning smell we've got the four wheel drive back all the lights are out needs an o2 sensor he can do that it should run you know the way the way it is just won't be won't be running tip top well she's got brakes that's good [Music] still running pretty rough but at least we can stop [Music] and we still got the brake light i think we better bleed the abs i thought we might get away with it but thank you what are you doing playing with the dump truck all right sounds like fun i'm busy trying to bleed the abs we're gonna go to i'll go to abs test we're going to hit automated bleed that's not a good place for it child what codes are set well there's a shock see if it'll let us clear him i don't know buddy this is what i've run into with these kelsey hayes units if they have a code they won't let you run the bleed and you can't clear the code unless you fix what's wrong with them and nobody ever wants to fix their abs i think we have a video about an old tahoe or something where i did the same thing press and hold break to activate test all right [Music] [Music] so [Music] okay well that's cool all right i got my co-pilot here let's try this again we may have to go through and actually bleed the brakes again are we going forward are we going for a test drive well probably not buddy because you're not buckled in we'll just go around the parking lot here a little bit make sure that she stops wait this isn't a boy car you mean this isn't a boy car like it's like what because it says she yeah oh no that's just what you say certain things are always a she ships always a she my mind cars are usually a she maybe like a big truck no my well my toys are boys yeah we probably shouldn't get into gender politics on the channel buddy sounds like a powder keg let's change it to well i'm gonna resist any comments all right i'm trying to stop hold on tight yeah okay it works it's kind of got a lot of pedal travel but that's okay okay we're doing good so far we're doing good so far well we haven't run into it there's been a lot of junk parked out here notice that don't hit the ranger we won't because we got perfect brakes all right kiddo is it fixed uh-huh i think so i think so too keep fixing it till till you think i think we're gonna be done fixing it nice all right now what chalk chalk okay all right folks that's it for the s10 blazer s2 blade that's the truck we just drove oh yeah we fixed the we fixed what the burned up wires and the brakes and the power locks maybe yeah we're gonna draw some some chalk animals and then go track down some dinner right kiddo yeah all right thanks for watching everybody maybe i don't really know bye folks
