ULTIMATE FILIPINO FOOD FEAST in LITTLE MANILA New York!

[Music] [Music] any tell way [Music] [Music] [Music] do you wonder why i always love ring this is why like just listen to that it's like a soothing calming melody this is the best time to just stay home and eat a bowl of soup or noodles hot pot dumplings whatever comfort food you can find and just curl up on your hammock that's morning that time with my creepy bar in the background i don't say this a lot but today breakfast can't wait oh let me show you how to butterfly yourself nope spiders spiders yeah did not clean the hammock when i got home yeah let's go eat some breakfast this is a good day to stay inside but in the city today it's not it's not raining until later so i'm gonna head into the city and schedule a bunch of filipino food places so i figured i'd go and eat and then come back because it's gonna thunderstorm later go in stuff my face come back and enjoy the coziness [Music] [Music] because i had that really good seasick in seattle can't get it out of my head so today i'm at the little manila of queens here on west side we're gonna go for some filipino food and i'm living because i was so hungry i wanted to get to the restaurant plus the rain all this excitement i was so happy basically fell down the stairs this is a it's a combo of philippines and new york because right above me is the subway i got jessie with me today for breakfast i'm gonna embrace my inner pirate and uh have a giant squid what's the best thing here yeah start with them seasick uh do you have some calamansi drinks great great he asked me if i wanted a veg um i told him that when it comes to filipino food i only want pork and vinegar [Music] wow i haven't seen this in so long [Music] i'll tell you right now if i was swimming in the ocean this thing starts swimming towards me i peed my pants a little this is like trimming a uh squid bonsai tree very good really good no i like it it's good it's so tender it's so tender it's so crispy on the outside it's so tender on the inside wow that's actually really surprisingly delicious so we got this squid and then we also got a seasick sizzling seasick and we also got a kare kare which i haven't had since the last time i was in the philippines trim me off some more squid i'm not going to stop searching over this thing it's hard to talk about this when the strains going by every five minutes the food's good but that does get annoying i feel like the seasick will be better we have some calamansi but the flavor is there flavor is really good a little crispier would be better a little bit more citrusy i missed the calamansi i missed that so much but overall phenomenal breakfast would you ever thought you wanted to eat like seasick in a chain calamari for breakfast it's the best breakfast and people like bacon and eggs for breakfast you gotta bake him and you got an egg in there what else do you need she's sick for breakfast that should be the new thing a little bit of the anchovy sauce [Music] definitely need a bit of more citrus wow fatty meaty oxtail covered in a thick rich sauce so creamy what do you think of the vegetables what vegetables we got vegetables oh inside the karakai i'm actually happy to see vegetables in here because this thing is so heavy and rich that's good but a couple of bites in if your mouth is cashing checks that your stomach can't cash tops then one of the best movies ever luckily my stomach got a lot of cash on reserve and this is what i love about filipino food when things get a little too rich you always got the vinegar organ vinegar that is essentially the balance of filipino cuisine tons of pork tons of vinegar sweet walls happy middle ground thank you oh my god sizzling adobo this is one of the most beautiful sites i've ever seen i think from now on all my food every single food i put in my mouth i want it all to be sizzling ooh smell that vinegar would that be some fatty pork a little extra vinegar perfect also a little fun though in chinese when you're saying someone likes to eat vinegar such as myself you like to eat vinegar that means that they like to get jealous over like a girl or a guy so today color me jealous oh i feel my arteries clogging a little bit after that i definitely need something sweet and icy and right next door grande's kitchenette i hear good things earl your family owns this place okay so so sticky rice is supposed to be really good here yeah the purple and the green yeah okay what else do you recommend here um the barbecue is really good wait what kind of barbecue like skewers yeah we have like the pork barbecue we have like a grilled sampler which has like a little bit of oh nice nice nice try that okay dessert we have like halahalo we have the people we have hello good yeah yeah i want to get the hollow hollows here barbecue pork chicken pork chop yeah let's do that yeah thanks man appreciate it barbecue in the philippines is something you should never miss oh so good so on top of the trains there's like street work going on this is like literally the loudest street maybe in america so i'm sorry for all the background noise nothing i can do but this thing you love barbecue if you love pork come and get this yeah a little bit spicy tons of smoke dunking a little vinegar that's even better yeah all right how cool was that so good with the vinegar incredible yo jesse try to cut the garlic rice that's amazing you can say something really quick while there's no noise that's good right rice is incredible this country's obsession with pork i love it pork chop scrub i usually don't say anything nice about chicken because it's chicken you know okay barbecue chicken oh it's good this is fantastic thank you good job thank you good job especially the pork belly wow you're a sausage guy i am when i'm in the philippines those are so good longanisa oh my gosh all the classic barbecue meats this place definitely do them justice favorite pork belly second favorite longanissa third favorite might just be the chicken and also every single thing you eat just douse it with vinegar i know we came here just to eat dessert but uh it's sweet hello hello hello hello wow this is so pretty beautiful vibrant green and purple ube sticky rice pudding on top jello ube ice cream and of course sweet ice underneath i think some nuts down here maybe some red bean this is like the ultimate flavor texture shape dice a little crunch from the eyes a little bit i think cereal in here you got jello you got beans it's like the magical world of dessert this is all conjugated here this is exactly what you need after a plate full of fatty pork this side is pun done and it will bake all right you're gonna love this in my opinion i must get when you come here not only is the sticky rice perfect you get that great pandanube flavor but the toasted coconut on top and the little syrup there's just so much aroma i don't know what you're going to be eating because queens is like the most diverse world in new york city afterwards come here and get the sticky rice you will not regret it no it might be an interesting experiment get some sticky rice dunk it into the hollow hollow hello hello anna how you doing that was like the perfect pick-up line of desserts sacrilegious or food genius i'll let you decide you might not believe me because i'm usually alone during these filmings okay tell me that's not a must try let me try it oh my gosh it's so warm and it's melting in your mouth so good with the crunch on top okay coconut now take that and dip it in here are you sure yeah yeah do it do that all right be adventurous no more more more more dunk it yeah there you go there you go right right it's amazing you get that nice warm soft rice with the some of the crunchy ice it's like tasting a warm hug and a cool kiss at the same time ever experienced stuff like that before come here get these two you know what it feels like oh hey there you are oh thank you so much you're so nice thank you if you just sat down they just brought over a couple free lemonades this is jackson heights like i said queens is the most diverse world in new york city i think that is without debate and especially this neighborhood the jackson heights neighborhood where we are right now we were just in little manila ten minute drive in new york city and here is about like half a mile got the latino neighborhoods the thai neighborhoods the chinese neighborhoods like this area jackson heights i feel is like the most diverse of the most diverse anytime you want any authentic mexican food south american foods high food chinese food filipino this is where you go and you know the the telltale sign of a filipino restaurant this is what you look for that's a karaoke tv right there this evidence is immortal oh my gosh i would say most asian places and definitely almost every single filipino place karaoke 100 a little scooper on one end amazing sprinkle fantastic crunch on the inside that's all meat well that was just one of the most purple crunch in spring roll laying this thing's like zero veggies try that that's all meat this is the pala buck does that not look like a little face staring at us like a filipino stewie there's the nose the eyes it's a filipino stewie from family guy it's a pancake dish so it's a noodle rice noodle dish it's usually topped with shrimp sauce and cooked shrimp there we go here's the cooked shrimp hiding in there wow rice noodles ooh some onions some garlic underneath too it's good the noodles are a little too soft for me the flavor is really really good shrimp is good i think the shrimp brings a nice texture to it i like the sauce it's citrusy huge shrimp flavor i like to have different elements they put in here like a little pickled vegetable fried pork belly i just want to admire this fried pork belly for a little bit oh the skin the fat the meat dunk it in a little bin that is amazing amazingly good oh jesse try this all right oh you got to get a piece with the skin like you got to eat that together there you go and one bite one bite yeah there you go oh thank you so much i appreciate that thank you so much right that melts it that crunch and then it just melts you gotta do that with one bite so you get the fat to skin the meat all together [Music] i've never had it before it's like a sour tamarind soup with just chunks of meat inside and veggies oh man look at this fatty piece of pork with skin and your pork is never good unless it has a few hairs on it sour spicy it's honey bit sweet from the tomatoes and the green beans this is perfect for a cloudy rainy day like this it just makes you feel better every single bite and during these crazy times we all need to feel a little better oh that's crunch oh my gosh look at the skin layer skin lyra fat layer of meat this is the crispy potato whole entire pig knuckle here are you guys ready go to a quiet place all right if you're listening to something else turn it off okay no background music on this video ready you hit that little subtle crunch i'm gonna hit the repeat button for ya that is why you should come to crease that and you know everything else i ate today not a loud crunch it's a subtle crunch but that just goes to show how melt in your mouth this skin is so light and airy and crunchy i love the stickiness from the skin and the fat a little gelatinous right underneath the skin best thing is think about that super soup ah that's a great combo this is gonna be a good piece right here got all the cartilage and tendon in this one little bite dip that in a little hot sauce that's a sticky bite crunchy sticky magnificent bite by far is one of my favorite part of a pick just because it has everything lean means fat a ton of cartilage and tender a lot of that great sticky stuff everything you need to make your day feel better what's your favorite thing today this yeah this is amazing i just love the skin she'll listen to her chest skin yeah she knows she knows about good skin let me know if you heard this before we were always told that pig knuckles help our skin because there's collagen yeah so it's supposed to help your collagen production in your own skin there you go hashtag asian mom advice well they just ambushed us with something amazing ube halo halo this is beautiful [Music] oh this is great oh my oh i want to get your reaction i like how smooth the ice is and the ube flavor really comes out that's like catching a december snowflake on your tongue there's no shards in it it's no it's not coarse it's just powdered snow you could spew down that i'm not joking this is like one of the best outside of philippines really this is so good you know sometimes people say a girl's too pretty it's too much money our car's too fast this hollow hollow's too good it belongs in that conversation this is so good i want to dedicate that song the k-pop song from descendants of the sun you know what i'm talking about you are my everything and then some korean words i don't understand am i right i don't know my only question about that k drama those are you who are uh descendants of the sun fans my one question is what is up with that ending also do you notice that guy he gets shot like every single episode like 20 times the next episode was just like yesterday i got stunned by mosquito awesome starts coming down i love the cloudy day it just just feels so nice it's not really even humid up in the mountains it's about 10 degrees on average 10 degrees cooler up here than it is in the city so it's so comfortable and i can't wait for it to rain because today we're gonna do something real special today we at about this is why like 7 p.m we're gonna go to bed early like i still have to get an hour of workout and take my daily vitamin c regimen stuff like that you know but then it's netflix and sleep time especially today with with the with the filipino food in my stomach i mean if you ever want to get knocked out so quickly by food fried chicken or filipino food i mean i've been ready for this since mid-afternoon but as always guys if you can definitely go out support your local
