CHEAPEST FILIPINO STREET FOOD! Eating at ROXAS NIGHT MARKET in Davao Philippines

[Music] don't do that right I love it I am on my way to the city of Davao which is though almost a two-hour flight away I'm heading to the airport now and considering what happened last time I'm double triple checking I'm going to the right terminal and if you don't know what happened I'll leave the link for you I might description box [Music] [Music] nice seein down welcome to double that is some crazy traffic finally in davao the durian capital of the Philippines and it's about six o'clock I just got off the bumpiest car ride of my life it was so bad the other passenger in the van got out and walked to the hotel anyway I'm starving and I know exactly what I'm gonna do for dinner the Rojas night market is right next to this hotel and I hear if you want affordable good food that's where you go so that's that's where I'm gonna go let's go so right now I'm on scouting mode and there seems to be there's a lot of food here but it does repeat itself there's a lot of barbeque seafood fork bunch of juice stands a lot of Sh all my dim sum items as well and also a bunch of fried mochi balls hype and a bunch of sweets and ice cream it's also super crowded and really really smoky because of all the barbecue places but this is a type of smoke actually like okay I think the scouting mission is over it's time to eat [Music] check this out this is a fried eggs kind of like us spicy yes yes yes thank you [Music] this is basically a scotch egg and the orange is just food coloring and you dip the egg in this spicy sauce fried orange egg [Music] I changed like a fried egg I wish the outside was crispy I think this one's been sitting out a little bit and the outside is just a simple flour batter and I feel like I'm I mean eating the sauce and the sauce I like very vinegary spicy right now this is good lynnie because the sauce is awesome and you've got a really like vinegar I think getting one right out of the fire will be actually pretty good then why I got was really just okay because the outside was just a little too soggy I'm not sure really loving the salad and the chili powder they have it's a really refreshing salad some seaweed some cucumbers not only of my egg was crunchy the pork the cords the best pork belly that looks good [Music] pastel right right yes I'm not being sweet what's up okay okay [Music] hi can I get a full coupon done one this is Romeo I just met him yeah he's gonna he's gonna eat with me today is that poco par done Drake so coconuts and pandan drink that's good so I got a sermon of barbecue dishes batsto the rice I remember this the last time I was here this is a rice and it has grilled chicken on top so basically you take your skewers put on your gloves this is the pork with that fatty piece right on top take a bite a lot sturdier than I had thought nope not fatty pieces imagine little charged juicy fat slightly spicy a little sweet I'm girl hmm this is a highlight of what I got here tunic collar actually the flavor of this just Jimmy again such a huge smoky flavor in this pork and you gotta ask some calamansi on the tuna collar this thing is hard this is so pretty right now so what you can do is take a bite of this grab yourself some of the rice and chicken oh that's really good it's like I'm chewing under smoke I was walking through a bit earlier and this chicken inside this rice that on his own is absolutely delicious I'd be happy to just heat this on his own this chicken is so flavorful and spicy I can't get over how incredibly smoky all this is in the tuna collar oh this is burnin hot whoa tell me that isn't look it's just so incredibly advertising this is gonna be a beautiful bite of tuna look at that gorgeous char tip that you know the calamansi juice a little bit Rocinha powder one of my favorite things and included to a point where it's a little bitter from the charm but there's no mistaking how do you wish that tsunami that [Music] Wow all right um I had this was just a boob I love how you can just get really barbaric with it this is basically like a Chino rib the meat towards the palm the pieces low below the surface so incredibly juicy the slight bitter flavor that accompanies every bite and that kind of highlights the sweetness of the tuna meats that smoky flavor never leaves that thing it just infiltrated every single cell of that tuna this is a pork skewer oh wow really really tender Wow there's like you know a really fatty piece of trash room ma'am that fat to me Rachel absolutely perfect I got a hot dog because I really started to learn how to appreciate hot dogs at the Jollibee I'm gonna love this now there's such a mild flavor in this hot dog this thing don't kid yourself we're in the Philippines go get yourself a hot dog and you'll see what I mean chase it with some juice that's creamy see no collar honestly see there like a rib you guys don't do that right I love it bigger surprise for me how amazingly good this chicken rice is all right I'm gonna finish off my tea no red and let's go eat some more stop see the Jews running through this like a deliciously flowing river of flavor if you want to choose your meat if you go a little deeper this thing has a tall this store is selling a lot of fried food items including Gucci which is basically a sesame ball of different types of flavors and then there's this thing called the dynamite and it sort of looks like a food dynamite so this is the cheese dynamite basically it's a jalapeno popper spring roll oh I like this really simple ingredients not much thank you I feel like I need some different shots love the fresh peppers you can taste the cheese and not really overwhelming crispy skin on the outside does it down in my little snack Oh Russia as you bite into more you can definitely taste the cheese oh yeah wow she's in here and they said to just put some mail in here well I was pretty perfect nothing where you get into the C's has a mighty kick spicy crunchy slightly sweet from the mail really creamy with the cheese oh yeah this thing is dynamite in a spice and its flavor I'm gum fresh off the fire will be a lot better but this is still pretty darn good crazy thing about these is that they're piping hot oh I probably forgot I got a durian sesame mochi ball I wasn't ready to like mentally prepare myself all right it's good but just wasn't prepared for that unique aroma that durian has is basically a sesame ball and there is the durian in dish Oh Oh usually when I will be four I eat durian I have to mentally picture the aroma which looks like when I get into a cold pool like to put my toes in and then get in a little by little but here I'll just dived into that funky deep in I mean it's good it's got a hold my breath right now this is a strawberry one just started this guy's down here and try this I've had mini of sesame mochi balls in my game usually from Chinese bakeries I didn't know Filipinos do this better huge nice fruit flavor from the Dory into the strawberry oh that's hello oh sweet how could he sesame mochi ball from the heavens crunchy chewy chocolatey this market is basically split into different sections one part is all food in this part you got a bunch of knickknacks phone cases flip-flops clothing and it just keeps going on and on these are basically little fish balls you get them as spicy or sweet so there's mayonnaise and hot sauce on mine I can't change the fish right it's really chewy very mochi it's it's got a good flavor it's got a nice crunch on the outside I'm gonna taste the fish a little bit that piece has less cover with sauce and taste more than fish this lady is selling brutemen which is a fried chicken skin and you can dip it in the sour sauce for the spicy sauce and you can just go ahead and dip it into this to spin of the spicy vinegar sea chilies and onions floating on top this thing is only 5 pesos each visit a you saw the chicken intestine actually miss dish it isn't really a huge Filipino specialty hmm all right this is just a Stewart of fried chicken skin oh the hot sauce is a lot thicker oh this is awesome the spices are all really sweet sweet and spicy for some reason the chicken just tastes better in this country no funkiness to it it's good crunchy texture it's kind of surprising excuse my chickens skin analysis to bring you Eureka see how your income you watch my show yes activated charcoal mochi and ube activated charcoal I've never been into a charcoal before levitation like this I would do it more often it's just a sweet earthy flavor yes Graham I think though you got to rid of charcoal poutine has been fraternizing with the durian Buchi because the durian peel definitely rubbed off on it the mochi there's nothing off-guard I'm just one fighting these things now oh by the way that matcha was so good I think I might have developed a prop oh that will be only eyes so much there's a mushroom over there this is supposed to be a really good ice cream place they got durian avocado mango mango ice cream tastes like a really creamy thick mango like a frozen mango shake okay I think I basically tried all their different foods that's available in the market why except for the fresh fruit but I some mango ice cream so that counts right and like I mentioned in the beginning the food stalls do tend to repeat themselves a lot but with this market Laxton variety it a hundred percent makes up in value I mean everything I had in the beginning the barbecue the tuna collar four dollars nowhere in the world can I get dad good of a deal for such delicious food it wasn't like four dollars and it tasted like it was four dollars it was four dollars and it tasted like a hundred bucks most of what I had tonight wonderfully delicious and I just can't believe when they tell me how much it is that's just like I feel like I'm robbing you right now also one more thing I want to point out and it's another reason I love this country oh so dearly people some of the nicest you will ever meet I mean they didn't mind I was filming because I'm by myself so sometimes I need to put my food somewhere the vendors even helped me hold my food as I'm holding a camera talking to myself and a ton of people came out to take photos and everyone was so sincere so polite so so sweet this is white Philippines one of my favorite countries to go in Asia oh hi nice to meet
