Also who needs to see out the left side of your window? Not this guy.
It could just be me but in that situation I would have declared an emergency. There literally is no reason not to when an engine goes out.
Engine failure in a light twin, didn't die. A+
He video was chopped, he could’ve called
ATC is awesome. Ok that's all I wanted to say.
If he was NORDO, how was he talking to ATC?
I found this video fairly baffling Perhaps as a newly-minted private pilot my personal level of urgency would have been a little higher, what the heck though. Didn't want to declare, and then goes nordo into the deviation destination.
Man, you guys bitch a lot.
"I just had to shut the left engine off." "That is affirmative. We're OK." DECLARE DAMMIT. An engine out in many multis is indecent performance at the least and an unusual flying circumstance.
"Would you prefer to make a right-hand turn?" "Yeah, it's really not going to make that much difference." YES YOU WOULD LIKE TO TURN
RIGHTINTO THE DEAD ENGINE (left...). DO IT CORRECTLY. (You could nose-down and throttle down or do it very gradually, but... no...)Thank you ATC for declaring for him.
