has text to her family that the holy ghost said to her by the mouth of two or three witnesses [Music] [Applause] [Music] seek ye first the kingdom of god in his righteousness [Music] and jesus said everything else will be added [Music] somebody lift your hand say god just help me be right because if i'm right everything else gets happened if i'm right i'll never be forsaken if i'm right i'll have what i'm supposed to have [Music] right now [Music] [Music] for all that you've already done and what you're doing and father we ask that you use these lips of clay of jesus christ we pray in jesus name give god one more hand praise [Music] [Applause] how many know we serve a great and mighty god in the happy times and in [Music] yahweh we and we thank him in jesus name i want to turn to the book of accidents we want to talk today about worshiping god god exodus chapter 3 is the first scripture we'll read beginning in verse 16 go and gather the elders of israel to gather and say unto them the lord god of your fathers the god of abraham of isaac and of jacob appeared unto me saying i have surely visited you and seen that which is done to you in egypt and i have said i will bring you up out of the affliction of egypt unto the land of the canaanites and the hittites and the amorites and the perizzites and the hivites in the jebusites and to a land flowing with milk and honey they shall hearken to thy voice and thou shall come thou and the elders of israel unto the king of egypt and ye shall say unto him the lord god of the hebrews has met with us and now let us go we beseech thee three days journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the lord our god and i am sure that the king of egypt will not let you go no not by a mighty hand and i will stretch out my hand and smite egypt with all my wonders which i will do in the midst thereof and after that he will let you go and i will give this people favor in the sight of the egyptians and it shall come to pass that when you go you shall not go empty. but every woman shall borrow of her neighbor and of her that sojourneth in her house jewels the silver and jewels of gold and raiment and you shall put them upon your sons and upon your daughters and ye shall spoil the ejections now in exodus chapter 34. exodus capital trent cuatro i'm beginning in verse five and the lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there and proclaimed the name of the lord and the lord passed by before him and proclaimed the lord the lord god merciful and gracious long-suffering and abundant in goodness and truth is keeping mercy for thousands forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin and that will by no means clear the guilty visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and upon the children's children until the third and to the fourth generation last verse verse number eight i want everybody to read with me okay moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth and worshipped come on ryan go ahead and a heart to receive get all the glory gloria in jesus name jesus amen thank you sir thank you i want everybody to say worship so many times we've talked about two specific terms raised in worship and then speaking of those we've often spoke about how distinct they oftentimes are one from another yeah we talked about praise so many times being loud and so many times we've talked about praise being something that can be done from a distance we've talked about praise the book of psalms is loaded with praise and praise so often times it's about joy is about thanksgiving and you can do them both but when you begin to talk about worship you start talking about the word fear [Music] that you reverence so many times worship has a solemn attitude an attitude and whereas praise is being up and jumping and clapping i remember calling home so many times ask mom what you doing and she'll say i was on my face before the lord on my face talking to god go into worship with an attitude and you go into worship with an attitude of ingratitude when i say that it sounds like a misnomer sounds like it's something that i'm saying wrong but i want to explain that when you go into worship yeah you're thankful but you go in recognizing [Music] that i can bring that would warrant my being here tp if you remember even the english word worship iglesias they picked that word worship and applied it to the old testament and new testament words caused the translators felt like that depicted the message that god's word is saying in what we call worship questions for if you look up the origin of the word worship in english it is a compound word it is the word worth and the word and worth ship was a ship yes back in the times when they would get all the jewels together and then they would have other ships that surrounded this ship that was of value the worst ship is and all the little ships surrounded this ship of value when you talk about worship in the bible worship the proximity is close to god in worship is something that you do prostrate that means it's something you do on your face and you do it because you recognize that you are in the presence of somebody that is worth way more than your worth and you recognize you don't even deserve to be in this for absence that he does us a favor when he allows us to be in the same place he does us a favor when he shows up where we are presented not because of my goodness but because of his mercy i am blessed to be a worshiper of god you get close to the one you worship in the old testament the word for worship is chicago we know the old testament was translated primarily from hebrews a lot of it also from the greek septuagint from the greek griego and in fact jesus and peter and paul oftentimes preferred to quote the greek septuagint but i like the hebrew because it was originally written in pictures is their letter shin their 21st letter and hey their fifth letter you don't have to remember that but i do want you to remember what i'm saying next that first letter shin is translated that one letter spelled out is translated in our bible what turning point teeth that letter hat is a fence is and that third letter at the end often speaks of what comes from something an example of that would be adam and eve and the bible tells you why ish ah because she came from man because that ah at the end speaks of what comes from something and so now we're back at the hebrew word worship chicago worship the picture in the old testament is what comes from something yes and the something that it comes from is shocked which was a picture again or what it's like and then a wall or a fence how does that make sense because worship is a picture of the wall being destroyed or being devoured is the wall has to be destroyed for me to worship god i can't be proud and stiff-necked and stubborn and be a worshiper i've got to tear the wall down i've got to melt i've got to come down pride has to come down but the last part of that word proskuneo literally meant to kiss and specifically spoke of kissing the feet that was a description of what happens when the master walks in and the dog is in the house the dog dog dog is but that depicts what happens when the master walks in and the dog crawls up and literally is willing to kiss the masters now you might think that you're too good for you to be part of that picture when it comes to god but when you become a true worshiper you don't care how you come to god you're just glad that you get to come in two women just came to mine and the one woman he was dealing with wanted her daughter to be healed of that foul demon that had her el demon and that was a time when jesus the bible said he would that no one even knew he was there yes he was tired can you imagine that he didn't want to be bothered with saints he didn't want to be bothered with me in you he was wore but she shows up at the house he's at peru and um tells him master this is the deal this what's going on with my daughter and jesus said it's not right to give the children's meat the children's bread to a dog lady she said yay lord yeah i'm a dog that's cool she said but even dogs get the eat the crumbs well then come and then what she did next messed him up she began [Applause] but that's okay because i'm a worshiper and i recognize that i don't deserve to be here but since i found you peru it's not about whether i'm worthy it's not about whether i'm worthy no importance no no i found you you think you're in the house see some folks will stop going after god because they recognize their situation [Applause] but god [Applause] if i go if i go hold on a second i never had allergies um hold on let me get it together if i go after you today like i should go after you i'm not going to have it together but when you recognize that he's the only one in the room that can help you don't care somebody say walls are coming down whatever [Music] some i give him a now phrase right now wow [Applause] somebody give him a praise right now [Music] let's just take 30 seconds down father we're not worthy to even be in the same house that's why we praise and that's enough [Applause] you gonna bring my people out of egypt remember last week he said tell them i heard their cry and i've come to deliver them to bring them out of their bondage to bring them out of their trouble i came to bring moses said to god in this chapter chapter 3. he says god who shall i say sent me god i know you're great for abraham you was jehovah jibril the lord that sees are the lord that provides el dios he could have picked a whole bunch of titles and moses says to god what hat are you going to when he says i'm the lord i change not leo he wasn't saying that he can't show up different ways what he was saying is no matter which way i show up i'm still god and beside me there is no god he said is there a god beside me he said i don't know any see if you know god number two or god number three you know something god don't know because he don't know any other god except himself but moses says i need you to tell me what name to use and god said in verse 14 and 15 he said just tell him i am [Music] that i i am going to go there but that's what's in this chapter i am that i am what he said in hebrew hey one of the things that always jumps out at me is that is not a noun in hebrew moses wanted him to say a name and god said when he says i am that sure asher that word that's translated that is also translated what which when where who et cetera so when moses says to god i want you to tell me what name god turned to focus and said i'm whatever whoever whenever however and i can [Music] what are you saying you're not going to put me in a box it's not like i'm just going to show up one way moses because you don't know all of the situations that my people face there's some folks who are here today and if i said how many need healing somebody could raise their hands if i ask how many need a habit broke in their life other people would raise a hand if i ask how many need food on their table or gas in their tank they got to church and they don't even know how they're going to make it tomorrow other people would raise their hands and what god was saying to [Music] moses was that i can be do whatever i want to do whenever i want to do it and nobody not all of egypt not pharaoh not all the gods in egypt can stop me when i show up to deliver my people supply he was telling them i'm going to show up and not only am i going to show up but i'm going to show out and remember what he said and when you tell pharaoh to let my people go he will not do it he says but i'm going to still bring you out with a mighty hand this is on purpose i'm almost done i'm going to turn it over to a preacher some of the things in your life that you've gone through as much as you've gone through look at somebody tell them it's on purpose look at somebody on the other side say it's on purpose [Music] just like he said in exodus 12 and 12. that he was going to execute judgment on all the guys of egypt he said before i even bring you out i am going to execute judgment on all these egyptian gods you're going to look back and see where i brought you from the jordan some folks wouldn't appreciate god they cannot some people wouldn't appreciate god if he only delivered you from one thing is that you could ride on a piece of corn and use every cob on the corner and that still wouldn't depict how bad their story's been they didn't do one thing wrong keep bringing more coins i should say kernels is what i meant bring more kernels because they could keep on writing about how bad they were how many things was wrong in their life but then it becomes a testimony that's what jesus was talking about in the house of simon the leper he said which one's going to love me more so the one that i forgave a little or that one that i forgave a whole bunch [Music] not everybody that grew up in church thinks they're self-righteous there's some tim harris's in the room tim harris whose mom said you were so bad as a kid you was either going to go to prison or go to the grave at an early age you was either going to kill somebody or get killed and that's the reason god saved you young so i don't have anything to glory in when i said i didn't drink i didn't do drugs i didn't have sex but not because i was good you know they couldn't foreign [Applause] god had to hurry up and save me i was so bad and i bless him for it give god one more hand praise sacrifice god brought you out so that you could serve him and so that in serving him you serve him in what the bible calls the beauty of holiness hold on i'm gonna interrupt my own message is that ourselves to him and recognize we're not worthy to be in his presence but since we're here we're going to be worth shippers we're going to surround ourselves around the most valuable ship on the scene and since we're here we're going to give him what he wants and we recognize that in worshiping him one fourth of the way through come on tanya make the author call give god [Applause] now after this push you heard a message like that you ought to have had time to think what did he do for me what has god done for me he told them that i'm going to bring you out and what i like about three and 20 he says and after that they will let you go somebody ought to stop acting like you're still in prison when you sing the hand of god in your life no god did it and he didn't just do it once oh [Music] see
